Jay went above & beyond by looking at all the ways we could be made more secure. He even suggested adding a storm door rather than a deadbolt (which meant he lost money on that), but wanted to give us his honest opinion. He was great. we will recommend him to friends.

My old (very old) jimmy proof lock broke. I was still able to lock the door with the button on the lower door knob but that's not adequate for a front door lock. I had bought a surface mounted deadbolt thinking I would install it myself but thought I may be getting into more than I bargained for. I decided to call a locksmith. A Tri-County had a few good reviews on other sights and I decided to call them. Jay came over and agreed to try to install the deadbolt I had bought. He really had to spend time making it work with my door and cylinder. It ended up work very smoothly. No way I would have been able to do what he did. He also re-keyed the deadbolt on my patio door so then my whole house worked on one key. He also tightened 2 door knobs for me. In the mean time he was friendly and personable. Jay has more "A" reviews under locksmiths than anyone else so I should not be surprised that he did a great job.

Jay was amazing. He was both kind and respectful throughout the process. He also came late in the evening because he knew how urgent our need was. He spent half the evening working in our home, when I'm sure he would have rather been relaxing at his own home. He also performed this wonderful service over the Christmas holidays, without a single complaint. I am so grateful to him for how quickly and professionally he helped us. Jay fit us right into his schedule, and was on-time. The price was $35/lock, which I thought was a bit expensive. Otherwise he did a great job.

I attempted to replace the locks on my security door and front entry door. I ended up locking myself out of my own house (had to crawl through the window to get entry.....I then could not get out of the house either (I was locked in). Tri-county arrived on time and repaired/replaced my locks. I was so gratefully to be able to lock all my doors again. Thank you

Jay had explained that emergency calls were answered as a higher priority. We were fine with this fact. He ended up showing up around 7pm and working until around 10. He needed to do some adjustments to our doors for the knobs & locks that we had previously purchased to be able to fit.

We were locked out of the house with the dog inside. It was Sunday and very difficult to even find a locksmith to answer their phone. Jay was way over in Youngstown on another call, but he put us on the list and got to us as quickly as he could.

I called Jay when the inside knob of our century-old mortise lock on my front door came off in my hand. The lock had been difficult to open and had been sticking since we bought our house, but past estimate to replace the lock had been extremely high given the age of the door and the lock. Jay was very responsive and came out the next day to assess the problem. He was able to replace the knob and spindle and repair the lock and the strike plate so that the door and the lock no longer stick. He was also very knowledgeable about our very old lock set and taught us things about how to use it that we had not figured out on our own. We now have a perfectly functioning lock set that should last for another hundred years. The total price, considering all that he did and how long it took him to complete the repair, was very reasonable and below what we expected. I would definitely recommend Jay to anyone.

The owner returned my phone call promptly and was able to come to my home the same day. He took a lot of pride in his business. If your curious, ask to see his truck. It is organized and stocked for any possible locked out situation. He was friendly and quick.

I called A Tri County Lock because of their excellent reviews. Jay came out very promptly to check out the job and see exactly what I had in mind. We had bought a new decorative door handle and deadbolt for our front door and wanted him to install it and then re-key all other doors in the house to match it. Jay was very courteous, very honest and very informative and he showed genuine concern about the functionality of what I wanted to have done. For example, he was happy to do everything I wanted, but was also quick to warn me of the possible hazards of accidentally locking myself out in different situations and scenarios. Also, since the new front door handle and deadbolt were manufactured by Schage, the door handle going into the garage (which was a Kwikset) would have to be replaced with a Schlage door handle as well. Jay informed me that it would be much more cost effective to simply buy one from Home Depot or Lowes (since they buy them by the truckload and can reduce the price) as opposed to buying it from him. I told Jay that I would call him back once I had bought the door handle and the work was ready to be done. I believe it took him a couple weeks to finally get to the house to do the work, but he did explain that he doesn't operate on the west side of Cleveland as much and also that he gets numerous calls from a number of different police and fire deparments when locksmith services are needed in potential emergency situations. We were flexible so the delay was not a huge concern. Jay and his assistant, Freddy (who was also extremely courteous), did all of the work in 2 hours and it did not appear to be easy. After 40+ years, our doors did not align as well and the bolts no longer struck the center of the strike plates (I hope I've got my terminology correct). So...Jay had to drill and chisel a lot more than I had expected in order for everything to align and work properly and the way it was intended to work. They cleaned up as they worked and Jay took pictures and showed me the deficiencies of our existing doors and frames and also explained what he was doing and why. Ultimately, I think they did an excellent job given the materials (40 year old mis-aligned doors) they had to work with. Jay even asked if I was okay with the amount of his bill. I was actually expecting to pay a lot more so, in my opinion, he certainly deserved every penny.

Technician arrived in about an hour, opened the locked door quickly, was personable. Don't know the going rate for locksmiths but I thought it was very expensive.

The experienced craftsman arrived promptly, answered all questions to my satisfaction, & worked quietly and skillfully. There was no smoking or music played on the job. His work was beautifully done, with no mistakes whatsoever. Everything lined up perfectly. Very glad I didn't do it myself.

This company is highly recommended. The owner, Jay, was very professional and very knowledgeable at what he does. He offered immediate service and scheduled when it was convient for me. The day of my service call, there was bad weather in our area-Jay knew I had some stores to go to after our appointment and because of the bad weather, Jay actually offered to stop at the store for me to pick up what I needed so I wouldn't have to go out in the bad storm!!! Wow! What a nice man! It's great to find a company that still cares about it's customers.

Jay from A-Tri-County Lock was terrific. He successfully rekeyed all of the locks on our exterior doors and made all of the necessary adjustments to make all of the doors close appropriately. He is very professional and friendly and someone you feel comfortable having in your home. I will definitely use A-Tri-County Lock in the future.
