A-Tri-County Lock

Jay came out an hour after we took possession of our home from the previous owner, to re-key all the locks. We had a total of five locks, and they were all re-keyed in less than 45 minutes. This included one of the locks having to be re-keyed the same as the other four. He found some issues with worn tumblers and worked diligently to fix the lock on the spot. Overall, he was not only quick but most courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to use him again. In fact, I need to have him program a keyless entry key for my car.

He explained what was wrong (done by someone else) and even changed garage door so both doors work in same way! I felt charge was reasonable. He was obviously knowledgeable and competent. He worked quickly but capably, explaining as he went. He could have said I needed more (repair/replacement) but did only what was needed. Honesty was appreciated!

They changed the locks on the doors, made as many keys as we needed and answered our questions. He even helped us install and adjust the storm window on the storm door for us. Very professional and helpful.

We had two locks in a garage door on our house for which the previous owner did not have keys when we moved in. I called several locksmiths on Angie's List to get prices to have new locks installed. The first thing I liked happened when I started down my list of calls. I put in a call to A-Tri-County Lock but there was no answer, so I went on to the next number on the list. Within five minutes or less, Jay was calling me back. He said he was sorry he missed my call, but was calling back to see if we were locked out in the cold and didn't want us to be standing out in the cold. We were very impressed with his thoughtfulness and professionalism! I assured him we were not locked out, but we wanted to get prices on new locks. He asked what the situation was and I told him that we had two door locks but no keys, so we wanted to replace the locks. He said that he would like to look at the locks and that possibly all we needed were to have new keys made, not to have the expense of new locks. He also said that he travels between Akron and Cleveland often for his work, and asked if he could stop by later that same day to look at the locks. We were very impressed with his offer of same-day service! Jay called in the late afternoon and asked if they could stop by. He and his associate came to our house at about 4pm. Jay looked at the locks and said that he could re-do the existing lock mechanisms and make new keys for the locks. He explained that the new keys would be different from the original keys so that if the previous owner had the old keys, they would not work. The cost to do this work was less than replacing the locks with new locks. Jay and his associate took the locks apart and took them out to their truck to work on. While Jay was rebuilding the locks, his associate offered to oil all four of our house doors and locks at no charge. He also adjusted our front door lock to work better! They were completely done in less than an hour! Since we were so pleased with his work we also discussed with Jay the locks on another door and got very good advice from him on those, including the fact that those locks did not need replacement. Also, we needed extra keys for another door lock in our house; I had previously installed a screen door lock on another door in our house and had attempted at that time to get keys made at a builder's store where I purchased the screen door lock, but they could not make the keys. Jay said that if he had the right type of blank key, he would make additional keys, and did. All in all, they were very good and professional to deal with. The only reason we don't share our review on Band of Neighbors is because we don't like putting our name on the internet.

Jay is very professional & offers great advice on lock/key maintenance and security. The front door hinge screws were too short. The door needed to be re-aligned in order for the lock to operate properly. He installed longer hinge screws & re-hung the door at no charge. He also lubricated all locks at no charge. Jay is sincerely concerned with customer satisfaction.

I'm a Realtor and I called Jay on Sunday morning because we got locked out of a client's house in West Akron. He stopped by within a few hours and rekeyed the lock. He then delivered the keys to my house in Silver Lake. WOW! So nice and pleasant on the phone and completely reliable. Couldn't have asked for better service. Very happy and will use him again.

My 83 year-old mother had her purse stolen with her home key in it. There was an attempted burglary shortly thereafter. A Tri County lock was prompt and did a terrific job even making some unknown repairs. They were great!

They came the same day I called. They were very professional. Very knowledgeable about all the locks I have. Very good about fixing all the locks and hinges for me and providing keys for all the locks. Would definitely use them again.

Jay and his assistant Freddy made two visits to our home. The first was a consultation and the second was to perform the service. They were very professional and gave a wide range of options to consider. We are very pleased with the work they did and would highly recommend them. It was quite apparent they are in high demand, so if your needs are urgent you need to let them know that up front. We were fine to wait, and if you are flexible and patient they will get to you and do good work.

They were on time, very pleasant and cleaned up after them. Their quality of work was excellent, and the man told me everything he was doing as he did it. He had all his tools in the truck, so he didn't have to go around. He was very polite, and he knew his stuff. He explained the best way to rekey the house without having to spend more money. I thought he did A1 service.

Jay was very flexible with scheduling - #1 Important to me due to my work schedule (came 8 pm on a Fri), very effiecient & pleasant. Gave some suggestions for increasing security too. Explained before coming about his prices and his van.

They were very goods. They took a lot of time and seemed to know how to reposition a lock. They were very good with what they did for her. They also cleaned up anything that they had to after anything that they had to drill. I thought they were expensive but after dealing with their locksmith I thought they were pretty good. They were reasonably priced.

AWESOME!!!! They came out late at night and went straight to work. Within an hour, the entire house was rekeyed and ready to go. They were prompt and did some other things (like work around the doorknob/latch) that were extras, but which they did not charge for.

They provided same day service in the early evening with no overtime charges. He fixed two locks that he could have easily charged us to replaced. He provided a security assessment. Fast and thorough service. I definitely feel safer in my home as a result of the technician checking both entry doors and pointing out where there were security issues and helping to resolve them.

They returned my call promptly. He was kind enough to ask about my sliding door to make sure it was a lock that could be replaced before they made a trip out. Luckily it was a lock they could replace. They said they would be out in the afternoon. I had to call back a couple of times and they didn't make it out until around 6:00 that evening - but they didn't charge me extra. He replaced the lock, adjusted the alignment of the lock. He also provided me some tips to help prevent future wear and tear on the lock mechanism. He knew his locks and wanted to make sure I had my house secured.

Very happy with our experience. Jay seems to help you out whenever you need it. Although he cannot give you an exact time for his services, he definitely will be there when he can even on a Saturday night for no extra charge. He came later Saturday because he had several people stranded outside in the cold locked out, so he did emergencies first, then us. He not only rekeyed all of our locks, but he repaired all the locks that were loose and the dead bolts that were not turning easily. Small, but very important things you need to keep up with over the years, and since all of our locks were originals we figured now was a great time to get everything up to speed for security reasons. Jay also gave us fantastic safety tips we can use throughout the house too. Info that I never would have thought about until it would have been too late and would learn the hard way. Lots of valuable information that we can use when we are and especially when we are not at home. I hope I don't accidentally get locked out of our house, but if I do I know who to call.

They were very professional. They cleaned up every speck of dust they left and went above and beyond, fixing an interior door that was too tight to close all the way. I didn't even point that out, they noticed on their own and insisted on fixing it for me at no charge!

The gentleman from A-Tri-County Lock, LLC performed the service on the same day we called even though it wasn't an emergency. He was very professional and quickly removed, repaired and replaced our broken front door deadbolt lock. I asked if he could provide keys for our storm door which we have never had keys for and he said "let me take a look". He took the lock out of that door, worked in his van for a few minutes and provided us with the number of keys we asked for. The price was a little more than I was expecting, but I'm sure they were competitive with other locksmiths. These guys are very professional and I would recommend them.
