 + 8 moreTwo years ago we hired Baker Group to add a wet bar to our lower level. They exceeded our expectations in that small project so we decided to hire them for our entire first floor remodel. We added a full bathroom, installed all new hardwood floors throughout, opened up a wall between our kitchen and great room, completely gutted and rebuilt our kitchen including our cabinets. The project was large and it took almost 3 months to complete, but we are incredibly happy with the results. As a stay at home mom, I was nervous about the idea of different subcontractors coming in and out of my house on a daily basis. With Baker Group, they don't use subs so I had the same 2 guys (Mike and Benito) in my house every day which helped my comfort level. They were very nice to have around and became almost like family when they were here. However unlike my family, they always cleaned up after themselves and treated our house with respect. Their tile work and floor work were amazing. Phil is the cabinetmaker among other responsibilities in the group. His cabinetry is beautiful to say the least. We used to love our friend's kitchen cabinets that were made by an Amish company, but Phil's insatiable need for perfection in his product far surpassed what the Amish built. Our house has become a showpiece and the talk of our neighborhood. We are so happy with the finished project.

 + 7 moreThe project couldn't have gone better. It took a while to start the project but Phil was very transparent on start times. Quite simply, he was in high demand and the quality of the works is why. Phil was efficient with his time once the project started. The quality of the cabinets is just amazing. The only down time was waiting for the granite to be cut and installed but none of that wait time was a result of poor project planning. The custom design that fits my kitchen perfectly. Phil was very responsive during the process either through phone calls or text messages. I couldn't be happier with the quality of his work and his professionalism.
Description of Work: Baker Group did a full kitchen remodel for us. We removed all existing cabinets, installed new appliances and expanded the kitchen island. Phil Baker provided design ideas and consulted on the types of cabinets.

 + 14 moreThese guys were great, punctual, considerate, friendly and so very accommodating when those inevitable changes were requested after construction started. The quality products they recommended and used combined with their top notch craftsmanship can't be beat, especially when it was balanced with a reasonable cost!
Description of Work: Baker Group built us a wet bar in our lower level, and wow what a bar they built. The experience was unbelievable, from the first meeting when Phil opened his Macbook and started quickly building the vision of what we described for the bar, to suggesting different looks we could employ for the cabinets, stone back-splash and flooring. They took our "must have's" and made it all work, especially the fabulous cabinets.

This was actually Baker Group's third job for us. We trust Phil and his crew to do great work at a reasonable price and have referred him to several of our friends. Phil and his employees are responsible, good at what they do, and a pleasure to have around. We wouldn't hire anyone else!
Description of Work: Baker Group Remodeling gutted and remodeled our bathroom. They installed new floor tile, shower tile (wall tile and mosaic tile in a niche), tub, sink, vanity, and toilet. They also put up towel bars and wall hooks, replaced the light fixture, and added a new exhaust fan/heat lamp.

 + 11 moreWOW.! WOW.! & WOW.! These guys know what they are doing. They take pride in what they do and their work ethic reflects that at every second of their job. To top it off, everything went as planned from a timeline perspective as soon as they started the project. If you are looking for the most expensive or the least expensive contractor option, then look elsewhere. Phil's work definitely reflects the money you pay. Instead of typing a long review, I post some before and after pictures. It is much easier to show the work they did.
Description of Work: We wanted to combine our old kitchen with the old dining room. During the process, we also renewed every single piece of kitchen cabinets, floors, ceiling texture (got rid of the 80s stamp style), light fixtures and more more.

We trusted them when we were not home. They made sure they kept the work area covered and cleaned up after the project was done. We would strongly recommend them because of their skill, accountability, and staying within budget. We plan to use them again on finishing the walk up attic in the future. We have also recommended them to friends.

 + 2 morePhil Baker was absolutely fantastic in helping us remodel our upstairs bathroom. As soon as I called him, he was on the phone with the marble and granite company, explaining I had a very short deadline and that we would be in the next day to pick out the slab. The granite company came to our home and took exact measurements and cut out the countertops exactly to fit. They were delivered with perfect cuts to fit the space and the hardware. Then Phil sent his crew out to install the hardware and plumbing. They did an excellent job on everything in record time. Phil always called us quickly with questions he needed answers to in order to keep things moving. We were so impressed that we have asked him to do a much more extensive master bathroom remodel for us! He was very reasonable and stands behind all his work. Honest. The only problem is he has spoiled us and we now have high expectations when hiring any other kind of work done. We would recommend Baker Group for any remodeling work you would need. First class.
Description of Work: Installing granite countertops in our guest bathroom, coordinating the project with the granite company, and putting in faucets and new plumbing (under an unreasonably short deadline given by homeowner.)

 + -1 moreThe guys tore out a wall to widen the toilet access - repairing the drywall, and fixing the new tile and trim seamlessly. As well, they reconfigured the shower multiple times - wall, glass, tile, bench - as I became stronger, more competent, and mobile. Finally, it was added peace of mind to focus on recovery in the hospital, knowing I could trust this team access my house via garage code and make daily progress on the work. It's a special team - you'll be pleased.
Description of Work: After just finishing our bathroom remodel with The Baker Group in February, I was unfortunately injured in a skiing accident in March - paralyzed from the waist down. While I recovered in the hospital, these guys were amazing at adjusting schedules, coming back and remodeling the work they had just completed in order to make the bathroom ADA accessible.

 + 13 moreI highly recommend Phil and Mike. They give you an honest opinion when you initially discuss the project about whether what you want is feasible/realistic. They started the jobs when they told me they would, communicated very well throughout, answered all of my questions, and while they were working on my projects someone was there every weekday. They have even been responsive to tweaks and questions I have had after the jobs were completed. They were a pleasure to work with, and I would definitely work with them again.

Changed out some light fixtures along with door handles, hinges & stoppers (from brass to brushed chrome) throughout my home. Created an exterior vent for a range hood.  + -1 moreThe Baker Group was outstanding. It could not have gone any better. We interviewed five companies with four coming to our house to look at the project. We liked Phil right from the beginning. He was easy to talk with and would honestly express his opinions when asked. He told us what he thought would work in our situation and what would not. He always ended by saying, "It is your bathroom. Make it the way you want it." Every vendor he directed us to for materials was great to work with. All were very helpful, fairly priced and had nothing but good things to say about the quality of the Baker Group. Phill did the custom cabinetry and his brother Mike did everything else. Both are protectionists taking pride in their work. Communication was great. We always knew what the next step would be and when they needed materials. The project took about six weeks. We felt very comfortable having them in our house. Mike even let the dogs out for us if we were running late! It was like having your friends working for you. You can't beat the quality of the Baker Group's craftsmanship. And to top it all off, they are competitively priced. We could not be more satisfied and very proud of our bathroom. We have another remodeling project coming up and will be hiring them again.
Description of Work: Our complete master bathroom remodeling involved: removing a wall, removal of old shower, built in tub, both vanities, toilet, mirrors, light fixtures, and flooring. The bathroom was completely gutted. The electrical, plumbing, ventilation fan and duct work was rerouted.. This was all replaced with a glass enclosed shower with floor to ceiling tiled walls, stand alone tub, custom built cabinetry, granite countertop, custom built mirrors, new light fixtures, new toilet, new drywall and tile flooring.

 + 5 moreFrom the first day the project started to the final punch list of items left on the project, the Baker Group was always on time or early to start their day. Communications were open and frequent on what was being done, when it was being done, and by whom. Not once was there ever a worry about who was in the house with or without us there. All members of the Baker Group team were very professional, courteous, and went above and beyond making sure the project was done professionally and to your specific wants/needs. Several times during the project I had spent time discussing different options in specific areas, as well as some additional scope creep in the project. Not once was there an issue with the discussions, the change in direction, or the change in scope. Being in my house now for 2 years, we had several projects that were done prior to the move in and now the basement post move into the home. All I can say is this is the easiest and stress free project of all so far done in the house. Thanks again for the wonderful addition to our home Phil, football and movie nights on the big screen couldn't be better!!!
Description of Work: We were in the market to have our basement finished. After speaking we several companies and being extremely frustrated with prices, not providing a good vision of the end product, or providing a spec on specifically what we were looking for I jumped on Angie's List and boy was it a life saver! Baker Group was a blessing and so glad that I found them on Angie's List. After reading all the previous reviews I was very interested in getting a quote from Baker Group. From the first minute Phil walked into the house until the project was done, every person's feedback on Phil and Baker Group were spot on. I would have to say that Phil is one of the most honest businessmen out in the market. He was there to provide feedback on things that I wouldn't have thought of myself, but also on ideas I had and steered me in a different direction for the best interest in us and the resale of our home in the future (even though this was going to be less money in his pocket!). All in all, I would not bat an eye on contacting Phil again for any work that I need in the house, and have also provided his name to several other friends in need of Basement, Kitchen, or Bathroom work. If you are in the market for any of the above work, stop your searching and contact Baker Group. The wait may be a little bit depending on your wants/needs, but there is a very good reason there is a wait list....Baker Group is hands down a company that provides high quality work at a very reasonable price!!!

We did a complete remodel on a mid-century ranch and hired Baker for the finish look so I had them tackle the high end finish work of tile for our new master bath, 2nd bathroom and back splash in kitchen. They also installed our new cabinets in the kitchen, master bath and 2 other bathrooms. We are 100% satisfied and the Baker boys finished on time and on budget. If you want the best, don't look any further and hire them. Worth every penny!!

 + 5 moreGreat Job! This is the second time we've used the Baker Group for a remodeling job. On this job we took a master bath down to the studs, took out a large Jacuzzi tub, re-situated a toilet, then added a large custom shower, added a new tile floor, brought in a stand alone tub with a floor mounted filler, had them build new cabinets and put granite countertops in. In the master closet, they expanded the space into the attic over the garage, put new flooring in and built out the space with drawers, hanging areas, shoe storage and shelving. The work took about 6 - 7 weeks, they let us know when they were starting and were always here when they said they'd be here. They were flexible as the project proceeded.

 + -1 moreWe needed our downspout lines replaced in order to drain our plumbing for our pool and to get the water away from the basement walls. The lines old lines were clogged with tree roots and the water was backing up. They were able to run brand new lines. The sod from the yard was laid directly over the trench & within a week looked back to normal. They did a wonderful quick job, we are so pleased.
Description of Work: We needed our downspout lines replaced in order to drain our plumbing for our pool and to get the water away from the basement walls.

They installed a new tile floor and tile backsplash, added new cabinet doors, refinished the existing cabinets, installed new lighting and new granite countertops. They completed the entire job in about two weeks, which was a big plus. They kept us informed along the way, kept the area clean and were always prompt and courteous. Everyone on the project was great to work with and offered helpful input. We would hire them again.
