Phil Baker as well as his entire team were wonderful to work with. I told Phil up front what my budget was and what I wanted to accomplish, and that I also wanted to do some of the work myself to cut costs. Of the several contractors I had provide bids on the project he was by far the most responsive to & respectful of my budgetary objectives. He provided additional creative suggestions to make the finished product even better without going over budget. He also graciously gave me a number of great tips on products and techniques to use for the work that I was going to do- he even gave me some of his paint and caulk to use. Everyone that Phil brought to the project was professional, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. They clearly take pride in their work product, and added several enhancements along the way, without extra charge, because it made things look better. They also found some concerning electrical issues and spent considerable time reworking things to make it safer and updated, even though some of it was outside the scope of the project, which I really appreciated. The quality of their work is excellent, and I would absolutely use them again, and most certainly will recommend them to others. Thanks so much Phil. I love my new basement !!

Tommy was punctual, very friendly and knowledgeable. He installed the battery backup in a timely manner and then instructed me on how to use the system. He left the work area clean.

We had an excellent experience with Phil and his team! They are professionals focused on excellent quality workmanship and strong project management. We did a total basement remodel, including approximately 1000 square feet of living space. The team arrived every day on time and ready to work. They very quickly earned our trust in the house and we felt very comfortable with the crew unattended to complete the work. They were respectful of our home, even building a friendship with our small kids. The team was very focused on delivering high quality of work at all times. We decided to add custom cabinetry in the kitchenette and media room. It is beautiful! We have been living in our new space for over a month now and continue to be amazed at the detail and workmanship. The Baker Group has excellent project management. At all times we were informed about the work that was completed, the planned/upcoming work, and timing related to final project completion. Communication was complete and frequent, so we felt part of the process and enjoyed our remodeling experience! Phil was very nice and seemed to know what he was doing. He expressed that he did not really care to work in the City of Columbus and I never received a bid for the basement remodel.

Phil Baker provided a quote a few months ago to repair basement walls which needed to be completed prior to starting a basement finishing project. His quote was good and he gave a estimated time for when the work could be completed. As the date that he estimated he could get the work complete approached, he called to schedule the work. A few days prior to the scheduled date, Tommy, one of his workers came out to confirm the scope of work and take measurements for materials needed. Tommy completed that review quickly and confirmed he would be out early on the schedule date. He and a co-worker arrived as promised, got quickly to work, completed the work in less time than anticipated and had everything cleaned up. Phil and his crew were always professional, gave straight answers to any questions and completed the work when promised. I will use them again, including on the basement refinishing project.

Baker Group Basements exceeded all of our expectations. Phil and his team did an excellent job communicating each step along the process. Always addressing issues, concerns & questions. He is always two steps ahead and ready for the next. Our space included three areas, kids playroom/study room, office & entertainment room. Phil customized all cabinetry, desks, closets, etc. We had the opportunity to build exactly what we invisioned due to his superior craftsmanship and attention to detail. We love our space now, and especially loved his team!

This was a basement remodeling project. Upon initial call, Phil (owner) personally came out to give estimate. This included scope of project & additional suggestions on what we already had planned for this space. Work began on April 16, 2013. Crew were very professional and personable. Communication was great. They kept us "in the loop" of what was going on and when to anticipate various milestones being accomplished. Phil checked in with us on a routine basis to see if there were any questions, etc. In addition, Phil responded to texts, e-mails, etc. in a timely manner. This project was completed in the timeframe that was initially established. We were extremely satisfied with the work that was done and would definitely use the "Baker Group" for a future home project.

We LOVE our new basement. From the first time we met Phil for an estimate, he was very easy to work with. He provided us with ideas on how to best utilize our space, since it wasn't overly large and was an odd shape. We couldn't be more happy with the end product. Phil and his team arrived each day on time and Phil kept in constant contact on the status of things and the timing of work remaining. We had no hesitation leaving his team in our house while we were away at work. You can tell that Phil and his team take great pride in the work they do. All of their work is of the highest quality. The Baker Group recently transformed our unfinished basement into a fabulous living space. Our basement was a large open space that we put a bedroom, full bathroom, full kitchen, study area and a TV room (about 2,000 square feet at start). Phil met with us to design the space and discussed ideas and options. Phil returned with a drawing and quote that he reviewed in detail with us so that we understood what was included and what was not in his quote. Phil was very easy to work with and he encouraged frequent communication and feedback from us so that we were happy as his team progressed through the build process. Phil?s team was very professional, trustworthy, had high integrity, and delivered high quality of work. Phil is a hands-on builder and addresses unanticipated challenges/issues right away and involved us in the resolution. We liked that Phil was very open and very honest about the issues, we had no surprises. We appreciated that we could trust Phil and his team?s opinions and suggestions! Our basement took about 3 ½ months to complete. We trusted his team to be in our home throughout the build while we were at work and we never gave it a second thought once we met his team. We are thrilled with our basement and are very picky about quality and the Baker Group delivered a beautiful product. His team did the work as if it were in their own home. We will be using the Baker Group for any future projects to our home and will highly recommend them to our friends and family

WOW! We are demanding homeowners and this is one of the first vendors we've ever used that actually exceeded our expectations. The quality of work was exceptional. Phil and his team provided great design concepts and took quality time with us communicating and describing our options. And they went 'above and beyond' on several instances to ensure quality results. They really take pride in their work. The team was prompt, professional and maintained their schedule. They were also very creative in finding some GREAT solutions to some difficult design challenges. We couldn't be happier with the work done by Phil and his crew! By far the best experience we've had with a rennovation project. We've redone our kitchen, master bathroom, and great room with companies recommended on Angie's list, have been very happy with each of them, but the Baker Group tops them all. From the very beginning, Phil was very easy to work with. He made the estimate process simple, providing an overall cost for each phase of the project rather than a complicated line by line list of expenses. We had several companies provide estimates and the Baker Group was very reasonable. We can't say enough about his crew. They were on time every day, always polite, just great guys. Our shy 2 year old daughter got to the point she would ask where they were by name after they had left for the day. The quality of their work was superior. They did an excellent job of finishing existing beams, posts, ducts inherent in a basement project to make the space look clean and not divided unnaturally. The custom cabinets and desk space they built are beautiful. A custom wood bar with wet sink was built and stained to match wood flooring we had chosen. The woodworking and finishing on both of these was magnificent. A full bathroom was installed, including subway tiled walls and fully tiled shower. The tile work looks fantastic. Wiring for a surround sound system was placed at the framing stage. When the Geek Squad from Best Buy came to install our TV and surround sound sysytem, they actually asked who did the wiring, saying they had never seen it done so well or made their installation so easy. We added several upgrades to the initial estimate, and we felt the upgrades were done at a very reasonable price. Overall we were supremely satisfied with the cost, quality of work, professionalism and friendliness of Phil and his crew. If you are planning to finish your basement, you can't go wrong with this company!

He stayed within my budget. No surprises. I was billed in three increments of 1/3.

We called The Baker Group and scheduled an appointment for Phil to come to our home to give us an estimate. Phil arrived ontime and we went over our plan for the basement. We wanted to do some waterproofing and wanted to turn the space into a comfortable living space. Phil looked at our space and told us his recommendations. We negoitated some things out and Phil returned a complete estimate to us later in the week. We met again and worked out the final details and signed to contract. As agreed, the crew came to our home as expected. The construction phase was completed ontime. We choose our colors for the finish and the finish was installed. We love our new basement!

Baker Group was truly a delight to work with! I have used them on other projects for the company I work with and turned to them for personal work at my home. We contacted 3 different contractors to update and remodel our master bathroom that was in dire need of a face lift. From the beginning...getting the quote to the end product we were pleased with Phil's work and expertise. Phil was very thorough in tying up any loose ends that needed to be taken care of prior to finishing my basement. From putting up drywall, to installing carpet, to all the finishing work...there was great attention to all the detail. He did a great job and was very clean in all his work.

We met Phil at the Home and Garden show, he was very responsive to our needs. He came out to give us an estimate to paint the basement ceiling of our new house. He did a great job, at a reasonable price. We will have him back to finish our basement at some time. We would highly recommend Phil.

The work provided by the Baker Group exceeded our expectations. Construction workers kept the work space picked up, they were efficient and made sure to ask questions to verify details of the job. We met with Phil on a regular basis to review the progress of the project. He was also available by phone whenever we needed him. The work done was of high qualilty and completed in a very timely manner. Phil's supervision of the quality of work and his attention to detail showed in the finished product. The basement is now the most used room in the house. We are very proud of this space and love to host friends and family down there to show off our new living area. We have hired Baker Group to do additional work in another area of our house because we know that it will be quality work.

The Baker Group more than met our expectations. As noted above, we were kept up-to-date regarding what they were doing and a reasonable time frame to complete the same. When any problems existed, we were immediately contacted and asked for our input and/or how the issue should be handled. Phil and his workers were friendly and very informative throughout the whole process. The basement looks great, better than we ever imagined. My wife got "our" laundry room boxed in and they updated our house to meet code specifications, especially concerning the smoke alarms. The Baker Group created a wonderful bar, which they created to meet the space and height requirements of our basements. We look forward to many happy days in a "fan cave" that is the envy of our neighborhood. We were so happy with the work completed that we are requesting the Baker Group to do some additional remodeling at our home early next year.

Phil and his crew did a wonderful job finishing our basement into a bedroom for our oldest child and a small office for my husband. We found him at the Home and Garden show and knew right away he cared about his company and the work he did. He came out exactly when he said he would. He honored his financial contract to a "T". All the work was inspected and approved. The finish was professional and clean. His subcontractors did great work as well. We always knew exactly what stage of the project was in process and what would happen next. I would recommend, and have recommended, Phil to my friends and neighbors. He will not disappoint!! We plan to have him come do more work on our home next season.
