WOW! is proud to serve a number of communities in the Midwest and Southeast. We started out in 1996 delivering cable TV service in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, and have since added the services that our customers need. Today we offer digital cable, HDTV, DVRs, high-speed Internet, and local and long-distance phone service. In 2012, WOW! acquired Knology, Inc. and began serving customers in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. We continue to listen to our customers and have plans to offer more exciting services in the future. WOW! is privately owned by Avista Capital Partners. With corporate offices in Denver, WOW! has assembled a diverse and experienced management team. This team and all WOW! employees share a passion for doing things right and delighting our customers with friendly, quality service and affordable prices. It went awful..
Description of Work: My internet service was awful, I called in at least 3 times per week. I had the fastest internet that they offered and the price was extremely expensive. I had wow for over 2yrs. before they became popular and my service was fine. After a year of technicians running in and out of my home they lost a customer. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The customer service was rude and always had an attitude.

WERE PROMPT, CLEAN AND ON TIME WHEN THEY INSTALLED THE CABLE. AFTER WE HAD THE SIDING REPLACED, THE CABLE WIRES WERE LOOSE AND SAGGING IN THE YARD. THEY CAME OUT AN TIGHTENED THE WIRES AT NO CHARGE TO US. WE ALSO HAD DIFFICULTY WITH OUR BILLING, BUT WHEN WE BROUGHT IT TO THEIR ATTENTION THEY RESOLVED THE PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY.

WE HAVE BEEN USING WOW INTERNET AND CABLE SERVICES FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. AFTER HAVING IT INSTALLED, WE BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO GET INTERNET SERVICE. WHENEVER IT SEEMED THAT WE REALLY NEEDED TO GET ON-LINE, WE WOULD GET THE "CANNOT FIND SERVER" MESSAGE. AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS, AND SEVERAL TECHNICIANS CAME OUT, FINALLY THE PROBLEM WAS REMEDIED. THIS WAS AFTER MONTHS OF IT BEING "TEMPORARILY FIXED" BY A TECHNICIAN, ONLY FOR IT TO STOP WORKING A WEEK OR TWO LATER. IT FRUSTRATED US THAT WE COULD NOT GET A MORE SENIOR TECH OUT HERE UNTIL 5 OR 6 OTHERS TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT OUR HOME, AND ANOTHER 5 TRIED TO HELP OVER THE PHONE. WE WERE GIVEN A REDUCED RATE FOR A FEW MONTHS FOR OUR TROUBLES. IT WAS NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION, BUT WE APPRECIATED THE FACT THAT THEY SEEMED TO WANT TO KEEP OUR BUSINESS, AND WE HAD TONS OF CABLE TV OUTAGES WITH WARNER. WE HAVE HAD A FEW MONTHS NOW WITHOUT PROBLEMS, AND BEGAN PAYING THE FULL $59.99 LAST MONTH. WE WILL SEE.

WE WERE NOT SATISFIED WITH THEIR SERVICE (RESPONSIVENESS), SO WE SWITCHED TO WOW. WE HAVE NOT BEEN DISAPPOINTED. ANYTIME WE HAVE AN ISSUE, IT IS EASY TO GET SOMEONE ON THE PHONE. THEY USUALLY CAN HELP US THERE - OR THEY SEND A TECHNICIAN WHO CAN. THEIR TECHNICIANS ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE. (RECENTLY, WE INSTALLED THE DVR MACHINE THAT RECORDS TV SHOWS - IT IS AWESOME.) THE TECH EXPLAINED ALL OF THE FEATURES AND WAS PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE TECHS WE HAVE HAD FOR ANY UTILITY/SERVICE.

HAVE USED WOW FOR YEARS, WAS GOING TO SWITCH TO A COMPETITOR AFTER WOW RAISED MY RATE WITHOUT NOTICE. THE COMPETITOR DIDN'T SHOW UP ON TIME. WOW SAID THAT THEY WOULD BEAT THEIR MONTHLY RATE AND INSTALL ADDITIONAL CABLE NEEDED IN ANOTHER ROOM FREE. INITIALLY THEY GUARANTEED RATE UNTIL 1/2007 BUT THEN SAID THEY COULD ONLY GUARANTEE THE NEW RATE FOR A YEAR (UNTIL 8/2006). SHOWED UP ON TIME. SAID THAT HE COULDN'T RUN CABLE IN WALL, SO IT RUNS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE WALL. HAVE BEEN OVERALL SATISFIED WITH MONTHLY SERVICE.

INSTALLED WIRE FROM POLE TO HOUSE. I RELUCTANTLY LET THEM DRILL 8 HOLES TO MOUNT THE CABLE. AFTER ALL THIS, THEY CAME BACK AND INSTALLED AN UNDERGROUND LINE. I HAVE MADE REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO GET THEM TO COME BACK OUT AND REMOVE THE CABLE AND PATCH THE HOLES BUT HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE FROM WOW. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.

WE WENT BACK TO INSIGHT AFTER 10 DAYS (THEY HAD TO LAY NEW CABLE SINCE WOW CUT IT) AND THEY GAVE US AN INTRODUCTORY RATE FOR 12 MONTHS. DON'T BE FOOLED BY CHEAP RATES, IT IS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE!

ULTIMATELY - THEY KEPT SAYING IT WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. IN THE PROCESS OF THIS 2 WEEK TORTURE WE DISCOVERED BROKEN PORTS ON MY TAP, BAD ETHERNET CARDS (MY ETHERNET CARD WORKED FINE FOR ROAD RUNNER), FIREWALL ISSUES (MY FIREWALL WORKED FINE FOR ROAD RUNNER AND THEY OFFER NO ALTERNATIVE NOT EVEN IN HOUSE!). 2/12 - AGAIN, I WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH THE INTERNET EMAIL. IT WAS A 30 MINUTE WAIT AND THEN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON HUNG UP ON ME WHEN I ASKED THEM TO HOLD A SECOND WHILE I BLEW MY NOSE. THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT RESOLVED.
Description of Work: SERVICE TO BE INSTALLED ON 1/25/03. IT HAD NOT WORKED CORRECTLY BETWEEN 1/25/03 AND 2/5/03. EXTREMELY LONG WAIT TIMES FOR OUTAGES AND PROBLEM RESOLUTION. EACH TIME I CALLED INTO THE SERVICES NUMBER THERE WAS AT LEAST A ONE HOUR WAIT UNTIL I EVEN GOT TO A TECHNICIAN. WHEN I DID GET THROUGH ON THE PHONE, THE TECHNICIANS WOULD TELL ME THAT SOMEONE WOULD COME OUT TO MY HOUSE AND THEN NO ONE SHOWED UP. RATE IS FOR BASIC CABLE AND HIGH SPEED INTERNET MONTHLY. THEY HAVE GREAT SERVICE ALL AROUND AND OFFER 72 CHANNELS ON THEIR BASIC CABLE, PLUS THE INTERNET THROUGH CABLE WITH THREE SPEEDS TO CHOOSE FROM,WHICH DOESNT TIE UP MY PHONE LINE. MY DAUGHTER LOVES IT, SHE TAKES COLLEGE COURSES ONLINE. THEY WERE EASY TO GET A HOLD OF AS WELL.

*BEWARE* THIS IS AMERICAST WITH A NEW NAME BUT SAME HORRIBLE SERVICE AND QUALITY. I WAITED ON HOLD FOR OVER 2 HOURS BEFORE I HUNG UP THE PHONE. I WAITED FOR TECH SUPPORT ON AVERAGE 45 MINUTES BEFORE I FINALLY REACHED SOMEONE. THE CONNECTION WAS HORRIBLE. I NOW HAVE A DIFFERENT COMPANY AND RECEIVE AN EXCELLENT CONNECTION AND FAST CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I CANCELLED SERVICE AND THEY NEVER CAME FOR THE EQUIPMENT RETURN. I EVEN CALLED TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT TIME AND THEY CLEARLY MISSED IT. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HERE BETWEEN 9 AND 12 BUT IT IS NOW 6PM, SO I GUESS THIS BOX AND MODEM IS MINE NOW.
