I interviewed five companies before hiring Kathleen Nye. What an excellent choice I made! Not only does Kathleen carry top-of-the-line products, her prices are very competitive. She has creative design ideas and a delightful personality. Kathleen worked diligently to determine how to best meet our needs. Her vast experience is a terrific asset. I would highly recommend Window Dressings by Kathleen Nye!

Kathleen was very professional. She came on time and she suggested the type of blind that would be best based on my needs. She was spot on! I love my blinds and would definitely use her again.

Kathy was great to work with. Always responsive and punctual. She was able to accomodate my work schedule with evening and even weekend appointments, a huge plus for me. Install was quick. One of the blinds was defective and she was quick about ordering the replacement and reinstalling. Her price was great, especially for Hunter Douglas. I got honeycomb shades for 16 windows, most of which were oversized. I got motorized blinds on the 3 largest windows.

Working with Kathy was a wonderful experience. My first need was alteration of bedroom drapes that had covered one large window in a room with an 8' ceiling. I needed alteration to accommodate two smaller windows in a room with a 9' ceiling. Kathy defined all available options and we reached an amenable solution. It was VERY difficult to find a window Rx company that would alter drapes. Since Kathy took this issue in stride, I wanted to give her the order for new draperies for my living/dining room. This, too, was a totally positive experience. Kathy readily understood what I was seeking, made many constructive suggestions, and we found a great fabric. Kathy, herself, installed all the draperies. She is a perfectionist! I'm totally satisfied with the results and highly recommend Kathy Nye as one who connects quickly with her clients and is totally "hands on" in the process.

Kathleen Nye is an expert at her profession. Her work (and materials) appear to be of high quality. She is a little pricey (5% discount notwithstanding) however her itemized quotes are sparse as to cost details, somewhat difficult to decipher. She does not respond to emails. She has a tendency to talk rather than listen. Unfortunately, the category "professionalism" could not be rated higher than a "C", that being generous, due to several unsolicited, unexpected and disparaging comments, one too rankling to overlook, regarding this home's interior design, it's location, furniture, pictures, etc.... the only mitigating factor being its "curb appeal." ? The home is in the ongoing process of modernization and it was expected the discussion would concern swatches and design choices for it's windows rather than it's "flaws."

I contacted this person on 3/25/2016 through Hunter Douglas, she responded that she was traveling today and would contact me when she landed. I assume she must be on the International space station and not landed yet as I never got a call back or email, and now don't want one, found another provider who responded to my inquiry. I would never use someone who says they will contact you and they don't it has now been 12 days, think that is long enough to assume I will never hear from her.

One window was special order, and not done to measurement. Kathleen made the correction at no charge and gave us the mis-measured one which fit perfectly in another room. She installed that one at no charge also.

Kathleen is easy to work with, understands what you want, and makes useful suggestions. She is the installer, although this time due to surgery, her daughter did the installation.

Cathy had great ideas and I love everything, it is better than I expected. She also gave me suggestions on paint and decor. More than happy. I would recommend her to my friends and I will use her again. Thank you.

She is AWESOME! Fast, professional, great eye for color and FUN to work with.Came for a consult on 7/30, walked through the rooms and offered suggestions as to what style would work best. Then discussed color options. Installation was on 8/16. She was on time, communicated throughout the process, and is very picky - there was a small flaw in one of the shades....so it is being replaced. I didn't notice it until she pointed it out. I loved that!

I called this company inquiring about lengthening four curtain panels that were 96 inches in length, at first. I contacted Kathleen Nye and left a message. She returned my call the next day. I missed her call, but then figured that since the curtains needed to be only 88 to 89 inches, thought I would purchase curtain panels that are 84 inches in length and have them un-hemmed and add a ribbon and/or ruffles on the end of the hem. I bought four panels from Pottery Barn that are 84 inches in length. I called Kathleen Nye. Because of our work schedules, calls were missed on both ends, but Kathleen said to call her back and that that she could text me. I told her that texting me is best. A day or so later, I got the motion to extend the length myself and if it didn?t work out, I can call Kathleen to fix whatever I had done to my curtain panels, because I had purchased an extra panel from Pottery Barn, and ribbon from Jo Ann?s, it didn?t seem like there would be a problem with fixing them. Since I don?t sew (very well), I used stitch witchery to bond the fabric together. The end result was okay, but I still wanted Kathleen Nye to take a look at them and see if she could make tem look more professional. At first, I wasn?t completely satisfied with what I had done. I texted Kathleen and sent her two pictures of what the curtains looked like after I had extended them using stich witchery, ribbon, and ruffles, and asked if she could remove the ribbons as such, extend the curtains and then add ribbon to the end of the hem, and maybe ruffles, but that I wasn?t completely sold on having ruffles. She texted me back stating that the curtains cannot be lengthened. I texted her back stating that there is about a 3 to 4 inch hem in the original panel that I did not remove but bonded the ribbon and ruffles with stitch witchery and thought she should see them. I did not receive a response after that. I wanted her to look at them in person. I own a sewing machine that my husband purchased for me one year at Christmas because I said that I wanted to start sewing again. A few years had gone by since I had sewn anything and I really needed to take refresher classes to get started again. Before doing that, I called Window Dressings by Kathleen to help me with some curtains because I really wanted these up because I am redecorating a room in my home. I would have loved to have had these professional done, but the moral of my story is to learn how to sew so that I don?t have to rely on others. I gave Window Dressings by Kathleen Nye a ?C? for professionalism, because a professional person would have texted me back and kept communication open, no matter the thought about my curtains. Kathlen could have also taken time to look at them in person before making a judgment over what could have been done to the panels.

Kathleen came to our house with fabric samples and took plenty of time to help us select the right fabrics and drapery hardware. We had 3 large windows needing full-length drapes and 6 chairs. She gave me an oral estimate right then, which was later confirmed by text message. She later picked up the chair seats and took them to be re-covered. (We detached the seats from the chairs and re-attached them to the chairs ourselves.) She and her daughter brought the drapes and chair seats to our house. They removed the old drapery hardware and installed the new drapes and hardware. It was about 7 weeks from the time she first came to our house until the drapes were installed. Kathleen is very knowledgeable and fun to work with. We are very happy with the drapes and chairs.

Kathy is a true gem. She arrives on time or calls if she will be delayed. I purchased fabric from her for some windows and, for other treatments, used fabric I already owned. Although I had a good idea of what I wanted, she had some fantastic ideas that enhanced my original concept. I had eight window treatments and it took about 5 weeks to finish the work. Kathy installed them. WOW! What a dynamo; it took her a little over an hour to install all of them. She is meticulous in hanging draperies and roman shades. And, she is a perfectionist. She was bothered that a drapery rod that was installed by another vendor wasn't quit right and ordered a bracket to correct the flaw. I found her prices to be very reasonable. Her fabric selection was not extensive, but perfect for my style and treatment choices. She may have more fabric choices that I did not see since I found what I wanted in the initial selection. The client also has the option of purchasing fabrics retail. She also works with interior designers. In summary, I plan to use her services repeatedly until I finish decorating our new home. She is professional, dependable, offers creative ideas, and, her prices are reasonable, in fact a bargain, for the quality of the product and service.

Took a month, but we were told to expect this. Kathleen is very knowledgeable with a lot of experience and a delight to work with. Her prices were very competitive with other quotes we received. The end result was outstanding.

Kathy understood completely the look I wanted, and between what I wanted and her suggestions, the valances were even better than I could have imagined. She sent samples of materials for me to choose from, and one was absolutely perfect. It took a bit longer to get the valances than I would have thought, but it was the holiday season. All in all it was a very good experience.

Kathleen is exceptional. It is a pleasure to work with someone who is knowledgeable, professional, and able to get the job done without delay. I am very satisfied with her services.

The installation took less than an hour including removing the old blinds and hanging the new blinds. The new Hunter Douglas Chalet Wood 2 1/2" slat blinds have completely changed the look of the rooms. The blinds have an almost "wood shutter" look to them. More over, each blind was measured to fit an exact window measurement. Most of our windows look the same, however each had a minor measurement twist, that had not Kathleen been so precise about measuring and ordering our blinds, they would not have fit so well within our windows.

She was AWESOME. Her work was high quality and fast! Would definitely use her again.
