Description of Work: Prices for the replacement windows were on the higher side, but the construction seems good, so we got a handful replaced. Some damage was done during the installation, including a 9” section of drywall surface pulled from the wall. The calk work around the windows was also sloppy. The whole installation took significantly longer than they expected, so the calking was rushed at the end. When the damage was mentioned at the end of the job, there was a lot of emotion from the installer. Apparently, he believed it was 20 minutes of work to repair the damage. It is going to be more like a weekend+ of my time. The guy taking the payment said to give them a call and they would make things right. I did get a follow up from customer service, who was initially responsive. They mentioned they could have someone come out to address some of the issues. Further into it, communication slowed. A manger had gotten involved and said that installation damage was not their responsibility under the contract. That was the end of discussion on everything, my follow up was unanswered - even on addressing the caulk work. Overall, I’m far from impressed. This was our third window replacement, and it was the worst. The window quality is good, but the installation and customer service are lacking.

+ 0 moreThe installer, Tom Miller, was fantastic. Some glass broke off of my old window while it was being removed and he made sure to clean up every spec of glass. The windows look fantastic and he even made sure that we knew hoe to open them and pull them out to clean them. He even took down the awnings for me. The cost was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but with the custom windows that had to be made along with the quality of them and the replacement warranty, it was definitely worth it!
Description of Work: We had 2 very large floor to ceiling windows replaced with multiple panes

+ -1 moreThis was the first time buying new windows as a home owner and we could not be any happier with our decision to go with Universal Windows Direct of Columbus. They were professional all the way through, on time, did an excellent job and were kind to my dogs! That goes a long way with us!!! The quality of the windows are SUPERIOR! We had the windows replaced in the winter, when they arrived I turned the heat off, (no sense in heating a house with no windows in the wall) the windows are such high quality that once the new ones were installed my house started to warm up and I still hadn't turned on the heat! The kids all said, "it is so much warmer in here." The install team were awesome! They really took their time and made sure each window was done right and they even cleaned up after themselves, HALLELUJAH!!! Great Experience!!!
