Description of Work: Chaz came to my town home and gave me a very detailed description of what he could provide to me. He shared a menu of options to allow me to customize based on my budget and needs. His professionalism and likeability is high. I compared multiple bids and the high rated vendors are all competitive. He did move something for free to another room while others wanted to charge me $75. We had 2 bedrooms, 2 halls, stairs, kitchen and dinning area done. It came out beautifully!

Description of Work: Chaz showed up on time, got scheduled when we needed, and his workers did everything he said they would. i will refer him to others.

Description of Work: Complete refinish of hardwood floors in 2 bedrooms, hallway, and stairway. A big concern was the level of dust that would be created and it was surprisingly minimal. The floors turned out better than expected and are beautiful. The work was started and completed in the time frame given. We would use them again and will happily refer their service.

Description of Work: The company was not as professional as we would have liked in terms of scheduling, explaining the process, and cleaning of the work space (all the wood was cut in our garage where we were storing our dark brown sectional instead of outside in the driveway; I may never get all of the sawdust out of it). Their schedule was sporadic and never clearly conveyed. Their finished work was average at best. They did not stain under or behind the refrigerator nor stove and assured us this was common practice; we have since found out it is not. We had a number of issues, one of which (an uneven staining) they incorrectly remedied three times by using the wrong product; this meant additional time and stress arranging someone to be at the house whenever they decided to stop by. As for the look of the new floors, we were matching up to original floors. With that said knotty boards were used that were not of equal quality nor appearance to the original floors, even though we had plenty of wood to choose from and a lot left over when all was finished; when we asked, we were told it would be fixed. When it wasn't fixed, we were told it adds character and makes the floor stronger... Then we were told that if we didn't want these boards used we should have hand selected the boards prior to the team coming out (though we were never given this option); we assumed that they would do this as professionals. Ultimately, any issue or concern we had was dismissed by being told repeatedly that the floor/job we were receiving was "above industry standard." We disagree; the whole experience could have been smoother and all around better. Shop around first before going with this crew, and should you decide to go with this company, be upfront about exactly what you expect. Don't allow them to move forward before the questions or concerns you have are addressed. We were not firm enough and assumed they would do an excellent job based on previous reviews. We were naive and now have paid a lot of money for something we are not 100 percent satisfied with.

Description of Work: They SEEMED great, but they were too expensive for what I wanted done, so I didn't use them. They recommended someone else though, but I've yet to get in touch with him.

Description of Work: Refinished the wood floor in the entrance way and kitchen. Took it down from the original pre-finished floor 20 years old to a very nice smooth feeling and restored look. | |The guys were very nice. Only complaint was they came late every day usually by an hour or two. | |As expected, they kept the dust down (still some but not bad) and cleaned up every day before leaving. We opted for water base coating so we did not leave the home during the work.

Description of Work: They didn't contact me at all. I waited for nothing, and decided if they couldn't follow through on a simple contact, I couldn't trust them to be in my home. Everything people hate about contractors wasn't contradicted by this experience. It led me to cancel my membership and do the work myself.

Description of Work: Overall, work was performed in a reasonable manner and with average/good results. On the quality, the installation was good... a bit too much top-nailing in various areas though. |The biggest issue was dealing with the owner/manager when a huge issue came up in the middle of installation. He refused to work with me and his installation crew to come up with a good solution, he refused to come onsite to inspect the issue and work out a solution and then argued with us several times about the issue while his crew implemented a solution and then afterwards. Caused everyone lots of stress and ultimately left us rather unhappy as customers.

Description of Work: They did the demo of our entire first floor, and installed, sanded and stained wide plank pine to match the old floors on the second level of our old farmhouse. The finished product is truly beautiful!! They did a fantastic job giving us exactly what we wanted. We delayed ordering the wood, so they were not able to work in the block of time they had set aside for us. As a result, our job was done in staggered blocks of time, and we ended up with our furniture moved out for a couple of months rather than a couple of weeks. I highly recommend ordering your wood well in advance to allow for delays! I would recommend A Unique Hardwood Floor to anyone wanting beautiful hardwood floors. They do a beautiful job, and also work clean.

The floors truly look brand new and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. Chaz and his staff responded quickly to all calls and the project was finished in the exact timeframe they estimated it would. We would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: They gave me an estimate for my living room, dining room, stairs, and two bedrooms to get refinished. They also were going to repair some of the wood where the old radiator system was. The estimate was approx. $2300.00

Description of Work: WE HAD EXISTING HARDWOOD FLOORS THAT WERE DAMAGED BY A LEAKING REFRIGERATOR. MY FLOORS WERE WARPED AND WORN. SOME WOOD WAS RUINED BEYOND REPAIR, THEY REPLACED THE WOOD THAT WAS BEYOND REPAIR AND REFINISHED THE EXISTING DAMAGED WOOD. THE COLOR OF STAIN ON REPAIRED FLOOR MATCHED EXISTING FLOORS IN ADJACENT ROOM EXACTLY. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THE JOB WAS DONE.
