Traditional Hardwood Floors

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I had used this company several years ago with good results but since that time, I was told they have changed the way they pay their installers. They pay them by the job now. When they finish with their daily installs they are permitted to go off and "moonlight" on their own jobs. This maybe why the quality has gone downhill and they seem to take shortcuts, in order to get on to their own jobs. It took almost a MONTH to complete a 14 x 14 dining room floor that should have taken 4 days. Matt, came to sand, stain and polyurethane. He insisted on using a buffing machine to apply the penetrating stain. He said he came up with the idea of the buffer in order to save his knees. This resulted in large circles in the floor after the poly. He was told by mgmt to strip it and start again. The office assured me he would apply it by "hand" this time but Matt REFUSED! REFUSED! It looked awful and they had to do it a 3rd time to get it right. BEWARE! Use Deibles!

Estimator was friendly and knowledgeable. Quoted $500. Explained that such a small job would not be accepted by many companies (true) and told me his quote was higher than the company's normal per square foot rate since it was so small. Stated could do the work within 2 weeks. Some small delays where crew didn't show up as scheduled, but job still done in time. Good job, would consider using them again.

Flooring was laid well, quickly, no problems. Our complaint is that the floor finishing is just terrible. The floor ripples from repeated tries to correct bad work. Finishing around edges of walls is awful, rough, very rough also.

Traditional Hardwood was a pleasure to deal with throughout the entire process. Kevin completed the original estimate. He arrived on time (actually a bit early), was friendly, and provided excellent advice on how to proceed - with no pressure. Jason and his crew arrived on time and were immediately busy ripping up the carpet. They completed the entire job in just two days and the floors look beautiful. They were conscientious about their work, and I had no concerns about leaving them alone in our home. Meanwhile, Barbara in the office was very pleasant to deal with. She was able to schedule the job around our needs, and I had complete confidence that she was staying on top of things and would work with me to address any concerns we had (we had none). I would definitely use them again.

The salesman was very cooperative, and tried to make sure everything went off well. The actual workers, however, were incompetent. The sanding was adequate, but many other aspects, specifically the thresholds about old houses. They worked too fast and without the necessary care, and the owner was inattentive to the problems. In the end, they did refund some money, but I was left to repair their work on my own.

Their is good, but I would give them a C+ in communication. The initial communication they didn't make it clear about the finish. They did offer to come back the second time and put down an extra coat for half price.

I was unhappy that they subcontracted out the work to another service provider without informing us. This was our THIRD time using them because we were previously happy--we would have waited for one of their teams. The living room was perfect, but there were swirl marks from the sander around the perimeter of our dining room. Had not happened with their previous work by their own teams. Also this team was not really English speaking so we had some confusion over hiding our key and locking up--came home and found our front door unlocked. Would use again based on our two previous experiences, but will demand that it be a Traditional Hardwoods team, not a subcontractor.

work took longer than estimated but quality was good. it was recommended that we were out of the house during the sanding because of the dust. when we came home i found that cookies and other small food items were missing from the cupboards. i couldn't believe it and it made me very uncomfortable leaving them in the house but i wanted the work finished and didn't have much choice at that point.

VERY DIRTY JOB, EVEN THOUGH I PAID EXTRA FOR DUST CONTAINMENT. FLOORS TURNED OUT WELL. A FEW FLAWS IN THE FINISH THAT I HAVEN'T ADDRESSED WITH THE CONTRACTOR YET.

CAME OUT FOR AN ESTIMATE ON ROUGHLY 1200 SQ. FT. OF HARDWOOD FLOOR REFINISHING. WERE APPROXIMATELY 20% HIGHER PER SQUARE FOOT THAN THE COMPANY I CHOSE, WHICH ALSO HAD A GOOD ANGIE'S LIST RATING.

THE WORK WAS EXCELLENT. THEY ARE NOT GREAT WITH ARRIVING WHEN THEY SAID. THEIR RESPONSIVENESS IS GOOD, THOUGH. ONE OF THE STEPS WAS LOOSE AND THEY SENT SOMEONE OUT TO FIX IT. ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE PUNCTUALITY AND TIMELINESS ISN'T GREAT.

THOUGH OUR FLOORS LOOK GOOD, THIS WAS A MISERABLE EXPERIENCE! WORKERS NEVER SHOWED UP WHEN THEY PROMISED, AND WE HAD TO CONSTANTLY CALL THEM TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY WOULD BE COMPLETING THEIR WORK. POOR COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE HOME OFFICE AND OUR WORKERS. WHEN ONE WORKER WAS SICK, THEY REFUSED TO SEND HELP TO FINISH THE JOB. WE WERE ON A TIGHT TIMELINE TO MOVE-IN AND THEY PUSHED BACK THE COMPLETION DATE 4 TIMES, FORCING US TO MOVE ALL OF OUR BELONGINGS ONTO OUR FIRST FLOOR, WITH NOTHING UPSTAIRS FOR 2.5 DAYS. THEY USED EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK FOR NOT GETTING WORK DONE. THEIR TRAILER PUT A HOLE IN OUR ASPHALT DRIVEWAY THAT TOOK THEM 1 MONTH TO REPAIR. WE HAD TO CALL BOTH THE OWNER AND OUR WORKER REPEATEDLY TO ARGUE ABOUT OUR WORKER NOT DOING HIS JOB. THEY HAD QUOTED ME A PRICE FOR SHOE MOULDING OVER THE PHONE, AND WHEN PAYMENT TIME CAME, REFUSED TO STAND BY THAT PRICE, WHICH THEY REPORTED WAS 3X WHAT I WAS QUOTED. THEY OFFERED US AN INSULTING $50 BACK FOR THE PROBLEMS WE HAD HAD WITH TH

THEIR PRICE WAS VERY COMPETITIVE AND I FOUND THEM TO BE COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL AND EXCEPTIONALLY HELPFUL IN HELPING ME TO DETERMINE WHICH TYPE OF FLOORING TO CHOOSE TO MEET MY NEEDS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE SEEKING HARDWOOD FLOORING.

I WOULD ALWAYS RECOMMEND THEM. THE INSTALLER MADE A MISTAKE BY INSTALLING THE FLOORING GOING WITH THE BEAMS RATHER THAN PERPENDICULAR TO THEM. THEY PULLED IT ALL UP AND I ONLY HAD TO WAIT AN ADDITIONAL DAY TO FINISH THE JOB. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL FLOOR.

CLOSER SUPERVISION THAN WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL. BECAUSE WE WERE LIVING IN ANOTHER STATE AND HAD OTHER PEOPLE SUPERVISING THE WORK, WE WERE NOT ABLE TO TAKE AS MUCH OF A HANDS-ON APPROACH AS WOULD HAVE BEEN DESIRABLE.

IN SOME SPOTS THEY SANDED TOO DEEP. FOUR TIMES ROGER SCHEDULED AND DID NOT COME OR CALL. IT TOOK NUMEROUS CALLS TO HAVE SPOTS TOUCHED UP. THEY ADJUSTED THE BILL FROM $1545 TO $733 DUE TO DAMAGES THAT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED.

THE WORKMAN THAT CAME WAS VERY CONGENIAL AND TRUSTWORTHY. WE MOVED OUT AND LEFT CHARLES IN CHARGE OF OUR HOUSE. I WOULD DEFINITELY USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I TALKED WITH A VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE WOMAN. SHE EXPLAINED THAT IF I HAVE DEEP PET STAINS THAT THE FLOORS WOULD NOT BE FIXABLE. I REALLY APPRECIATED HER HONESTY AND HER ATTITUDE.

I USED TRADITIONAL 2 1/2 YEARS AGO, AND WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THEM AT THAT TIME. HOWEVER, THIS TIME I WAS NOT AS PLEASED. WORKERS NEVER SHOWED UP WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO, AND THEY WERE A PAIN IN THE NECK. HOWEVER, THEY DID DO A VERY NICE INSTALLATION. THEY WERE JUST VERY DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH. I THINK IT DEPENDS ON WHICH CREW YOU GET STUCK WITH, AND EVEN THOUGH THEY DID A VERY NICE JOB, THEY WERE A ALWAYS LATE, LEFT GARBAGE AROUND, AND WERE NOT VERY PLEASANT. I SCHEDULED TRADITIONAL TO DO MY LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM, BUT I HAVE NOW DECIDED TO HIRE SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS LESS EXPENSIVE, AND HAS A MUCH BETTER ANGIE'S LIST RATING.

THEY WERE NOT PROFESSIONAL, THE SALES TEAM WAS PROFESSIONAL ,BUT THE INSTALLERS WERE NOT. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GOOD, THE OFFICE STAFF WAS GOOD BUT, I WAS NOT PLEASED WITH THE WORKERS AND THE OWNER. THEY DIDN'T KEEP THE AGREEMENT FOR THE TIME FRAME WE AGREED UPON. I WAS NOT HAPPY AT ALL AND WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN.

MATCHED A COMPETITORS BID. THEY WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE WORK IN A VERY TIGHT TIME FRAME THAT WE WERE IN. OTHER COMPANIES WERE UNABLE TO WORK US IN. THE CREW DID A GREAT JOB. ON THE SECOND DAY, THE FLOORS WERE NOT DRY ENOUGH TO COMPLETE SO THEY CAME BACK ON JULY 4TH TO COMPLETE THE WORK. THE FLOORS LOOK GREAT.

THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE HERE AT A CERTAIN TIME AND THEY WERE.

THE SUB-CONTRACTORS ARRIVED 1 1/2 HR. EARLY WHICH CAUGHT US OFF GUARD. WE CONTRACTED FOR THE 'DUSTLESS SYSTEM', HOWEVER, THERE WAS A MIXUP AND THE SUBS USED DID NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT. RATHER THAN RE-SCHEDULE, WE WENT AHEAD. ALTHOUGH THE MESS WAS A DRAG TO CLEAN UP AFTER, THE FLOORS LOOK BRAND NEW AND WERE DONE EXTREMELY WELL.

THEY DID NOT ARRIVE AS SCHEDULED AND DID NOT CALL TO INFORM ME OF CHANGE. THEY HAVE SCHEDULING PROBLEMS AND THIS IS A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE. I USED THEM IN THE PAST (THREE YEARS AGO) BUT WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM NOW. THEY HAVE A NEW SCHEDULER WHICH IS CAUSING THEM PROBLEMS. I DIDN'T FEEL THAT THEY WERE UPFRONT WITH ME REGARDING SCHEDULING.

THEY WERE RECOMMENDED TO ME BY A CONTRACTOR FRIEND WHOSE OPINION I VALUE HIGHLY. HE USES THEM, INSTEAD OF ANOTHER COMPANY THAT HE USED TO USE, BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY DEPENDABLE AND DO A GOOD JOB. I WOULD RECOMMEND PAYING THE EXTRA COST ($150 IN MY CASE)OF USING THE ''DUSTLESS'' SYSTEM BECAUSE IT WORKS VERY WELL.
