Norman and Sherman are incredible. As a first-time homebuyer they explained each part of the inspection as I walked around with them, taught me about the house, and walked me through the inspection process. I got to view the live video of the sewer line with Sherman as it was happening, giving me more insight into the work. They produced a clear report and it was in my inbox that same evening. My realtor recommended Sherman to do my home inspection. Not only did he missed things small things (e.g. my front porch light not working) but he missed big things as well (e.g. the flashing on my chimney leaking). The biggest thing I will comment about was not tell me there were roots in my sewer - which I paid extra for a scope!! After finding out that there were roots in my sewer due to my drains not working, I looked for the sewer report and could not find it anywhere. Once I called his office about this matter, it mysteriously appeared on the website. Now he is saying it was there all along. Do yourself a favor and find a different home inspector. This guy is a liar and a thief!

Sherman recently conducted a home inspection for me, and it completely exceeded expectations. I'm relocating to Columbus from NYC, so I had to rely on his expertise and clarity of his report since I was unable to be there. The final document was extremely thorough (over 60 pages!), and included descriptions and pictures for each condition. Upon completion, he followed up with a quick text to give me the highlights before completing the full report. Thankfully there were no major issues, and I now have a weekend to-do list for the next year. He also offered to review and answer any questions with me after we move and I've had a chance to go through the report in person. Top notch service, and would not hesitate to recommend him to others!

Top Line was recommended to me by my realtor and I had Sherman do pre-offer inspections on 2 properties (on which I was outbid) as well as on the house I finally got an offer accepted. Due to it being a sellers market I was working on really tight timelines and he was available quickly each time. I was present on all the inspections and despite arriving between 5-10 minutes early I did not arrive before he did. He was extremely thorough and more than happy to explain to me what he was looking for and why as well as answer any questions about the implications of any observations made. He also made clear to me what areas were outside the scope of the inspection as well as when he thought it might make sense to bring in a specific expert. The reports were all made available to me promptly and gave me a lot more confidence in moving forward. I would highly recommend Sherman to anyone in the market right now.

In today's world it is so nice to see that there are still those who understand the importance of doing quality work, respecting customers, being punctual, kind, and patient. Sherman displays all of these qualities and more. He took all of the time we needed to go through our new purchase and answer all of our questions. Inspection went well. Sherman explained all aspects that were confusing and unfamiliar in this home inspection. The explanation level and technical information was adapted to our knowledge of the topic and his was patience explaining items was very useful. His patience and professionalism was top notch and I would not hesitate to hire again. The only thing I'd change is in the report, bold, bullet-point, highlight or some other method to emphasize the critical elements that need attention due to safety (perhaps we had none). The thought being, as a new home owner, I can quickly reference this report after moving in and remind note the most critical issues quickly.

Top Line was great to work with. They were recommended to me by my realtor, a friend of a friend who I have great trust in. The appointment was easy to set up online and was followed by a call from their office to confirm. As recommended, I joined the inspection in its last hour and Norman Hall, who inspected the property, gave me a walk-through of the home and particularly the items that would be included on the inspection report. He was very thorough; professional but kind and personable. He answered all of my questions with care and never rushed me, and made sure I knew I could call him later if anything needed clarification later on. We added radon and termite inspections (optional) and received a bundle discount.
