D M Thompson came out to preform the Chimney Sweep. They were on time and I did not have any problems with the work.

He arrived on time and did the work with out any problems.

The service went very well. He was on-time, very courteous and professional, covered the area around the chimney with blankets to keep the rug clean and cleaned-up thoroughly before leaving.

Everything went very well and as expected and we were very pleased.

He did a much better job as far as matching the brick and letting me know what needed to be repaired as opposed to the other one. There was a huge difference in prices and the low one did not seem appropriate. I would give them an A throughout. I would absolutely use them again. They were very good.

The son came out and gave me a quote. They came within a week. They had to reschedule because of rain. They sent three guys and got the job done in about 2-3 hours. It looks nice and I am really happy with what they did. They were prompt and cleaned up really nice after the work was done.

I contacted DM Thompson Masonry to clean the chimney of a second house. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the vent pipe needed to be raised to accommodate a replacement gas water heater. They said, "No Problem", and opened a new vent hole in the chimney, cleaning out the debris that someone had packed in. Fast, courteous, and obliging.

After a quick inspection, the person who was sent to sweep my chimney told me that I needed a new metal flu liner from the top to the bottom of my chimney. He told me that the company would send me a quote for the liner (approximately $2000 or more). He was at my house no longer than 10 minutes. After 3 or 4 weeks, I called DM Thompson Masonry Restoration, Inc., and left a message to call me concerning a refund for the $99.00 that I paid through Angies List. After another week when I received no reply to my message, I called and left another message. Needless to say, the head honcho did not want to return my call or refund my $99.00. In the near future, I will take him and his corporation to small claims court. In this economic depression where my line of work (concrete construction) is at an almost standstill, every dollar counts to me!!

We called Mr Thompson when smoke came into our family room from the fireplace. He had cleaned our chimney prior to winter. He came over and look over the chimney inside the house and outside the house. He worked us in between jobs that day. He spent quite a bit of his time looking over what the problem was. He explained to us that our chimney was lower than the second story of the house and we were getting a backdraft. He said that the only way to fix the problem would be to raise the chimney higher than second story. He did not charge us for this evaluation. We are very grateful for his time and explanation of the problem. He is the only one we will ever hire for our chimney work.

Rocky was punctual on arriving for the initial estimate and he and his crew arrived right on time to do the work. Also, telephone communications with Rose at the company's office were clear, concise, and accurate. Six months earlier, we had contacted a different company that lived within the same sub-division as we do and they proposed to do the work. However, after comitting to complete the job within 2 weeks, this other company after 2 months still had not even started the work. So, in the spring we contacted D.M. Thompson for an estimate. They were a bit more costly (of course being farther away, I am sure their travel expenses were higher) , but the job was completed on time and they kept their committment. We are very satisfied.

On March 5th, I patiently waited from 12-4pm (my time window) for them to arrive. No one showed up, and no one called. At approximately 4pm I called them, instead, to find out what the heck was going on. On March 6th @ 7:30am, I get a voicemail saying they had allegedly called me twice and left messages, and that "They didn't want to keep coming back out here". Well, feel free to check my phone records. There were no calls from this company. And no one rang or knocked on my door. And when I returned their call @ 8am, they gave me a line of crap, and disgusted I hung up. The Liars. I sat here waiting for them the entire time--with my phone on and at the ready. I would've had more respect for them if they'd simply admitted they made a clerical error instead of trying to turn things around and lay the blame at my feet. I'll be asking Angie's List for a refund for this Big Deal.

They ground out my mortar joints and flashing and all the tuck pointing blew out. They said they also waterproofed the chimney but my renters were still getting water on their ceiling a year later. I had them come back out again and finally had them realize that the mortar joints came out. So they came back out and they were ready to take the chimney off. Their people came out and they had the wrong address. My husband stopped them but in hindsight we should have had them redo it because the flashing is still coming off. They were just supposed to repair what they did the year before.

Two different people explained two different ways (and two different reasons for them) to close off the chimney safely. We had to call and remind them to come back and finish the work after I had already paid them in full. However, the masonry work went great and they did eventually finish everything. The office people who answered the phones were always helpful and knowledgable. We love the ventless fireplace. So much warmer now without that drafty chimney!

I contracted D. M. Thompson as part of Angie's List Big Deal to sweep my chimney, and I could not be happier! David was prompt, professional, and took no time whatsoever to finish the job. I will definitely hire him again. My chimney had not been swept in a few years. At first, I contacted the company that last swept my chimney. They did not return my phone call, and then I saw the Big Deal pop up. Good timing! I remember getting an estimate from D. M. Thompson the last time I had my chimney swept, and I elected to go with another company because they were more local. I will not make that mistake again. In my experience, nobody can equal David's experience and professionalism.

Scheduled between 8 - noon and got here close to noon. He did a good job and assured me that the chimney is clean and safe.

He was able to tell us of what addition work was necessary and an extimate was given. I highly recommend this company for your chimney and fireplace needs.

My experience was excellent. The appointment was scheduled within two days and happened on time. They cleaned up well once they were complete and did an excellent job!

They were excellent and did a really good job. They were very clean as far as keeping the dust from the fireplace from getting into the house. I think that they are good.

They were great! The guys came in, were polite and friendly. They covered all areas nearby and cleaned my chimney. They also performed an inspection for any issues. Luckily for me none were found. They quickly cleaned up and went on to their next appointment.

I purchased a discounted chimney sweep through Angie's List. When I called they were able to schedule me right away. They did end up being a little late for the appointment but I was called and notified that they were running behind. Also, when the individual showed up to perform the sweep and inspection he apologized multiple times (which wasn't necessary, but still appreciated) for running late. He came in and informed me of exactly what he was going to do. He performed the sweep and inspection. In addition he found the flue was sticking a little so he replaced a pin in the handle at no charge. Once he was done he informed me that the inside of the chimney looked great and that there was a crack on the outside that was allowing some moisture in. He provided me a written estimate for repairing the crack and also for replacing the cap. He said if I was interested in having any of the work done I could just call the office and reference the written estimate. He was very professional in his approach, left absolutely no mess and there was no pressure at all to have anything done other than the sweep and inspection. Based on my experience I would highly recommend this company's services.

.We used this company from an Angie's List "Big Deal". I tried calling D M Thompson NUMEROUS times only to reach a recording asking for my name and phone #. The few times they got back with me, we were not at home. The MAJORITY of the time, we never heard back from them. I believe we would have had an easier time reaching the Pope. After trying to make an appt for weeks and weeks to no avail, I filed this particular coupon. We were out of town for several weeks (called when we were in another state to make an appt also!), family member in the hospital...forgot about this particular Big Deal until after it had expired. I called D M Thompson (FINALLY reaching a human!), and explained the situation. They checked with the owner, who refused to honor it d/t expiration date. Told me he was losing too much money on the Angie's List "Big Deal", and I would have to pay full price. After a lot of pleading, he finally agreed to charge me an extra $50.00. The employees who cleaned the chimney were ok, MY PROBLEM is with the management and customer service end of things. We have always used Blackburn's, and have been happy; however, I like using The Big Deals in order to find other companies. We could have had this done from Blackburn's for the same price, without feeling like we had been ripped off. A suggestion: PLEASE do not complain about not making money on "The Big Deal" if you agree to the terms. This company lost a customer d/t the manner in which this was handled. MY IMMEDIATE THOUGHT WAS, IF THIS COMPANY HANDLED A "SMALL" PROBLEM IN SUCH A HORRIBLE MANNER, I WOULD BE PETRIFIED TO DEAL WITH THEM IF THERE WERE A BIG PROBLEM!!!!!!!!

It went great and they were so clean!

Mike came out and inspected my chimneys (I do have two) cleaned and both and gave me an estimate for the repairs. Thankfully he told me up front that although the one chimney (metal with fake brick fascade) looked a little rough from the outside it was fine and actually would be better left alone as it was a kit and if we were to make any alterations to it its UL listing (and insurance coverage) could be jepardized. Best to just give it a little paint to stop rust and clean it from the inside. So he cleaned it on the spot and I didn't see one speck of soot anywhere on my light green carpet. The second chimney is the older true brick beast that had not only had a chimney fire or two in its past it had been held together for years with some wire. We scheduled him to come out a few weeks later but had to reschedule do to rain that day. Thankfully the 6th was perfect and although I had other work being done in my house his crew lead (Rocky?) kept me informed every step of the way and they were more than happy to answer questions whenever I stepped out to take a look at what they were doing. They cleaned up every scrap of anything that came off the roof and were done in one day. I only wish that I had remembered to take a before photo because now I look up and have a great new chimney and no way to show anyone what a big difference it made. It was a lot of money but I knew it kneeded to be done, and done right. Now we can heat our home without fear of fire do to an unsafe chimney.

They showed up on time. Friendly service man. Neat and clean, no mess left in the house. Laid down cloths and took precautions. Performed the work quickly and efficiently.
