Dealing with the people at the Waterworks was great! Will and Michael were my technicians and they couldn’t have been more professional or polite. They kept me informed and did everything they could to fix the problem. I would definitely hire them again.

Was on time and cleaned up after himself. However, felt the work was way overpriced at $310 to replace a bathtub drain. If I had additional time would have shopped around.

See above - neither company from your list was used.
Description of Work: I was getting a new washing machine installed and the men could not get the water cutoff valve to work. They were afraid to force the lever in case of breakage. I had asked for quotes from two companies on the listings. Of the two, only one phoned me with a reply - which was they cold not give a price estimate without seeing the situation. They DID tell me a service call would have a $60 trip fee. I therefore phoned Atlas Butler, which over the last few years have replaced my furnace, air conditioner and water heater. They now have a plumbing unit. The guys who came out took less than a minute to determine the shut off lever was not fully engaged, and that it is working properly. So although their trip fee was more than that of the WaterWorks, it turns our I did not need anything fixed.

When I contacted the Waterworks, they sent out an estimator to look at the old water softener and the plumbing around it. He gave me an hourly rate for the job ($98/hr.) and estimated that it would take 2 to 4 hours to complete. I scheduled the service once I had received delivery of the new softener. A plumber and an apprentice came out to do the work. They were very professional. It took them 4 hours to finish everything. They explained a few troubleshooting issues that might arise so I could address them myself without having to call them in again. The price included time, materials, and hauling away my old water softener.
Description of Work: I bought a new water softener online and hired the Waterworks to remove my old softener and install the new one.

Let me first say I was a very loyal and repeat customer for Waterworks. They did gas lines, etc with quality. That changed in Feb 2018 when I paid them the 60 dollar Trip Charge --they charge for estimates-- to quote a sink installation, new plumbing, etc. The estimator was very nice, and they quoted around 1300 for the work. As this was more than anticipated, we needed to save up. Fast forward to July, we called to schedule the work as quoted + some additional new work, as we had always just trusted this service. I asked for a ballpark for the 2nd sink. They stated, they don't quote over the phone. They also informed me that another 60 fee would be due if they come out but I scheduled anyway. Then on the day of the scheduled service they call at 7am trying to confirm the visit we already confirmed. I called back and they said the tech should arrive by 9am. At 10:15, I called and spoke with supervisor and reminded them the complexity of the job, the fact I took off work to be home, and set some expectation for the arrival. They reviewed the requested work and then at 11:30 am, told me in addition to the $1300 the 2nd sink would be another $600 or more! Still no tech arrived. As this seemed expensive, I told them to see what they could do about the price. I emphasized that all the confusion and higher prices seemed a bit unfair and inconsiderate of me as a repeat customer. It was also very noteworthy that they don't price over the phone, but still gave me a price on the day of service! During this interim, I called 3 other Angie's List vendors to "check the price". All of them were lower by at least 30% and none charged a trip fee. A little after 12noon, Waterworks senior management made the supervisor call me back to say they were not willing to send a technician unless I agree to the high price and there was nothing they intended to do about my inconvenience, the time wasted waiting for the tech and overall poor experience. They basically wasted my day, gave the business to competition and lost a customer. They wasted the 60 dollars I paid in Feb along with my wages lost because no work got done on the agreed upon day. It is a shame because until now I would have given them an A rating. If nothing else, I recommend shopping other Angie's List options to ensure you have a fair price.

Service Technician (Lonnie) had one look at the (punctured) supply line and identified as a Hangrohe fixture and said sorry we do not have specialized parts for these. However, he supplied me with great information for obtaining the parts which I was able to do. He did not charge me for the service call. It is a modular supply line that I can replace myself. They showed up as scheduled, their tech was super- knowledgeable and I greatly appreciate a company that doesn't charge a service call "just because they can". They get my highest recommendation A+. P.S. Next time I'm in the market for a fixture it will be made in the USA.

seemed to go ok at first. I had already used some liquid plumber gel product and while that seemed to help, it didn't solve my problem. shower and bathtub cleared up. The problem I ran into them with was one of the sinks, as I tested them before leaving. the smaller bathroom (master bedroom) sink was draining very slowly still. I asked them to come and take another look. they said they did as much as they could, and that I should buy a new faucet to remedy the problem. I said, um....ok.... they would charge maybe $100 to install. the argument was that the hardware under the sink needed to be replaced in order for the drain to work properly. So I bought a $52 Moen faucet from Menards, and asked my handyman to come install it (much cheaper)...He said I didn't really need a new faucet, just cleaning out the drain, which he did in about 20-25 minutes. it just required some "down and dirty" clearing out of sludge from the piping under the sink. and sure enough: sink now drains normally/quickly. So I returned the faucet to Menards, then really wondered if the Waterworks employee really wanted to do this part of the drain unclogging, or had just "had enough" and didn't want to really dig in. perhaps he honestly thought installing a new faucet would work....but that wasn't needed, as my experience shows! It was not inexpensive to have them do what they did ($282),and the bathtub and shower basin were fixed. disappointed.

Discovered the pvc pipe was broken which needed to be fixed prior to the backflow test. Matt G did a great job of explaining the situation, setting up a new appointment to come back and fix the pipe and then return to perform the backflow test. Everything went smoothly and Matt was definitely an efficient and courteous pro. Very satisfied.

I had to wait two days for an appointment, and then had to wait 2 1/2 hours into the window, and they could not do anything to help. I had to go out and buy a new faucet. I did immediately and called for another appointment. It was Friday, and I had to wait until Monday afternoon for the appointment. Three hours into the appointment they called and told me I had to reschedule because they were so far behind. I told them that it was not acceptable because I would have to wait 3 days for another appointment and had already wasted two whole afternoons without any resolution to my problem. I had used them before and was very happy. I had wonderful servicemen, but this time I didn't feel the guy knew what he was doing, and, bottom line, I still have a big drip that is costing me on my water bill.

The technician arrived and was told that the drain from the sump pump to the curb was clogged as water backed up in the drains when it rained. He first said he could snake the drains and said it would cost $200. I thought this was a bit steep in price but consented. He then snaked the drains but he just shrugged his shoulders and said that it did not work. Then I asked, "Now what?" He said for another $100 he could put a camera down to see where the problem was. I said if I do that, then what? He said that he could locate the problem, dig it up, and repair it. I asked how much that would be. He said that it would probably be around $1500 to do the job, but said he would deduct the price of snaking the drain off the bill. I was astounded at how much they charged. I ended up digging up the drain myself and repairing for less money than I paid to snake the drain. I will never call them again.

I had this work done on May 10, 2017. On May 30, 2018, just over a year later, I had a home inspector do an inspection of my house and reported the master bathroom toilet was very loose to the floor. He recommended replacing the sealing ring and re-securing the toilet firmly to the floor. I called The Waterworks and asked whether, considering the toilet was installed only about one-year ago whether they would give me some price consideration to come back and correct the work. I did not request they do it for free. The warranty for the service was for 90 days. The Waterworks person said that no, they would not offer any discount on the follow-up work. But they would sure be happy to charge me the regular trip fee and their plumber would give me a cost estimate to do the work. No self-respecting plumber would claim that it's normal that a new toilet installed for a year would need to be re-sealed and re-secured, warranty or not! I said thanks but I'll find somebody else to do the corrective work and won't use The Waterworks again. My original invoice was for $1.307.00. Also, when their workman was out that day, he was very hostile and threatening to my dog. I vowed that day I would never use them again. I have never had any serviceman be that way before.
