My experience with The Garage Door Guy could not have been better. They were on time, pleasant and professional. My new garage door was installed in a timely manner. And my garage was so clean after that I didn't even have to sweep the floor after.

Went great. Was able to diagnose the problem quickly with photos and provide transparent pricing and expectations before coming out. Showed up in less than 24 hours after first contact (probably could have been same day if I needed it but the following morning was fine), completed repair quickly and professionally. Easy electronic payment. Also was 33% cheaper than an estimate provided by another company for the exact same repair. Will call again if I have another garage door issue.

I called the owner, James, at 7 am. He said he would come out. He called that he was running a bit late, but showed up when he said he promised. Very professional, very polite and very thorough in all he did. The price was fair considering he checked out the other 3 garage openers, also. I would definitely call him again.

We had repaired it so many times that it was beyond repair and we ended up having to replace it. They were just wonderful and we were happy with all of their work.

Great work by the owner! He was prompt and did all of the requested work. He offered an upgrade for a new key pad to match our system and we accepted that. All of the work was completed in the time window allotted, which is rare of many services today.

My garage door rollers came off the track on one side. I couldn't get the door to move at all which meant I had to leave the door open about 2 feet overnight. I called the Garage Door Guy the next morning (on a Saturday) and he met me later that afternoon. James got the garage door back on track and very quickly identified the cause of the problem. He showed me the problem areas and answered all of my questions. He took time to walk me through the options and approximate costs. Upon leaving, he promised to email me quotes for the options I wanted. I had estimates in my inbox within a couple of hours. I decided to have the door and opener replaced. James scheduled the work on a day that would work best for me. On the day of the installation, James met me at the house. He ran late due to traffic but called to let me know. I had to leave before the work was done. When I returned that night, the garage door was installed and the site was clean. The door is so quiet that I have to look to make sure it's working! James followed up with me to make sure I was pleased with the work. James did an outstanding job. He presented me with my options but didn't pressure me in to buying more than what was needed. Every part of the job from the first call to the last follow up was professionally handled.

The lift cable broke Friday night trapping my cars. I found James in the Angie's list directory and called him immediately. He set up the appointment for the next day, Saturday, and even came early. He was efficient and did excellent work. I will use him again and recommend him to my neighbors.

Called him to get an estimate to repair or replace my garage door. arrived in less than half an hour inspected and determined that replacement was the best option. Measured and informed me what options of doors available and the cost. had to order the correct door and said he could install it in a week. A week later he arrived on time and he and his helper replaced it promptly ,cleaned up their mess loaded up my old door and I paid him . Very professional service and friendly. The spring had broken on my garage door, with my car being stuck inside. He responded quickly, professionally, and replaced the spings at a reasonable cost. He fixed our garage door about 6 years ago. We'll be calling him for ALL of our garage door needs.

All in all, it wasn’t a negative experience. He was nice enough and he did the job at a decent price (minus the credit card use charge). I just won’t go back to him in the future and the reasons are as follows: a. For the first estimate, he was a no call-no show. He had marked it wrong in the calendar. It wouldn’t have been a big deal except for the fact I had driven to the property (30 min away) with my 11 month old baby. Probably should have just moved on then but he was decently priced so we went ahead and scheduled with him. b. He was not very friendly. He barely spoke to me and when he did respond, he seemed mostly annoyed by my presence. When he left after the estimate, he didn’t even say bye and I was just on the outside of the garage. I came out and said, “Are we all set then for the work next week?” He just nodded to acknowledge after seeing me in his rear view mirror. c. Worked fine and showed up on time. But, the finished product was not the greatest quality. The door sits about 1 inch away from the garage, so you can see into the garage actually. The doors do open and close fine. d. When we went to pay, we gave him a credit card and he said he takes credit but there is a 3% charge for using it. He failed to clearly communicate that the 3% charge would be passed on to us, the customer. This made the price about $25 more than the estimate. Had I known that he would charge us that, I would have gladly just withdrawn the cash to save the money. Alas, that was not noted anywhere nor told to me upfront for the cost. e. My husband met him to pay but he only gave us two remotes, even though the price should have had 4 remotes included. He was responsive about this and I said we just needed one more remote so he got that too me and I will program it soon. Again, all-in-all, it wasn’t a negative experience. He did show up on time, didn’t leave a mess, and he did answer his phone every time I called so that is certainly to his credit. Just know if you use him, there is a charge for credit cards and he will get the job done. But, I won't be using him again.
