This was the fourth time we had used Teeters (previous jobs included new windows, new siding/shutters/front door, and kitchen remodeling). The job started out perfectly. Then the construction supervisor had to stop working suddenly, which could have been a major problem, as he had several jobs going at once. However, Jon Wisler (our salesman) and Brian Teeters (the owner) and their staff stepped right in and got excellent people to finish the work so that there was only a day and a half of down time. Their communication throughout was excellent, and we are extremely pleased with the results.
Description of Work: They removed and replaced the vanities, countertops, sinks, faucets and medicine cabinets in three bathrooms. They also removed the door and door frame between the master bath and master closet, replacing it with a pocket door in a new frame.

We had four companies quote our kitchen remodel. We hired Teeters Construction based on John Wisler listening to our wish list. John made suggestions during the design and selection process but never tried to force something on us. He was with us every step of the way through the selection process. Six months after the completion of he job the called to make sure we are still pleased with our kitchen. Al Barnes and his crew did all of the demolition and installation of the new kitchen. Throughout the entire process they cleaned the kitchen area each evening before they left and took all of their tools with them. They gave us a schedule of the job before they started and were finished in the time frame quoted. AL Barnes is a true craftsman of all trades. There was never a problem that he could not remedy during the job. He and his crew were considerate and professional at all times.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of kitchen. Plumbing, flooring, cabinets and counter tops.

I put down a deposit on 7-8-10 and the window I needed was ordered. I called on 7-20 to check on things and the order had not been sent in due to a misunderstanding. It was submitted on 7-22. There were lots of details that needed to be gone over for the repair. I should have submitted this report when I remembered more details about why there was such a long delay between the deposit and the actual work being done. I think that they anticipated the work being done in August, and then something went wrong with the window being ordered. I started with a new class at work mid-August, so it may have been that we were not able to schedule it while I was especially busy at the beginning of the school year. I remember that it was hard to pin down the dates that they would be coming to do the work. But I was getting busy with work, and the delay allowed me more time to save money for the repair. By 10-7-10 I called again, and my understanding is that the window had come in and was the wrong size, so they had come to measure again and re-ordered it. The window came in on Friday. I called on 10-12 and spoke to Linda. A date was set to do the work and then there was a delay in another project they were working on due to rain, and they needed to reschedule my work. They set another date for the repair: October 21. Allen and T.J. came at 9:10 on 10-21. They looked at the damage and we talked about what they planned to do. By 10:50 they had the siding off and called me out to explain the termite damage and the cause (lack of proper flashing caused water to go behind the siding, and water attracts termites). They recommended adding what I think was a j-joint so that water would drain over the siding instead of behind it. They spent a long time explaining what needed to be done and how they would do it so I could understand it. They were able to save the siding and reinstall it. They removed the rotten wood siding around 2 windows and one door and installed new aluminum trim. They installed new sheathing. They installed a new fiberglass window in the kitchen. . Fortunately there was not extensive damage to the studs and they just had to shore up one stud near the window. I asked them if they could install a piece of extra siding I had over some holes resulting from misplaced furnace pipes, and I was very happy with the result and their willingness to do the extra work. Their suggestion to put the flashing on was much appreciated, and I read an article about it later in the newspaper. Their advice was collaborated by the article. I was very impressed by Allen and T.J.'s professionalism, knowledge and willingness to take time to explain the project to me. They were friendly and easy to talk to. The work was very well done, and I was very satisfied. I was relieved to get the work done, because so many companies I contacted were not interested or able to do the work. I was happy with the thoroughness of the work, and the extra things they did to make the siding and trim better than it was when new, and to prevent the water from leaking under the siding again.
Description of Work: We had termite damage around our window and door and didn't know how extensive it would be before taking off the siding. I called several companies who were not interested in the repair, and interviewed several companies to get an estimate. Only two companies I interviewed could provide the complete repair that I wanted. I decided on Teeter's based on the thoroughness of the inspection that Mr. Teeters provided when he came to do the estimate in person.

They found that one window was not adequately closed and one window just needed a new balance and confirmed that one window needed the glazing replaced. He suggested the name of a company that could do the needed work instead of replacing the windows. He did give me an estimate if they would replace the windows. He was the first company that said that the appearance of my front windows would be different if I only replaced the window that was the worst because the original windows have storm windows. They also followed up one month later to see how things were going and if I needed the work done or if I was able to get someone to replace the necessary balance and the glazing.

The salesman Steve was very nice and appeared honest and knowledgeable. The contract was signed on Oct. 25, 2010. Due to inclimate weater the job was delayed. Yet he had told us once the job was started it would only take about a week to a week and a half. The job was finished on May 26, 2011. It took 7 months and 1 day to compleate the job! Yes, we have had some bad weather, yet (in Nov/Dec.) they stripped some siding off of our house and left for the day (on a day that was calling for heavy rain) and we had water leak into our home. They did get back to our home and cover it within 2 hours of our phone call. Gary, the GC offered to "make it right" by replacing some wood siding that had water damage that was not in the contract. This proved to be and issue, as we painted the wood and then they showed up and had to use our saw to cut it. Then, when they relplaced our Dark GRAY ceder siding they caulked it with WHITE caulk. We now will need a professional painter to fix that. The siding was finley compleaded after several (understandable) weather delays. However, they did not clean as they went around our house. They left all kinds of nails, cigerette buttts and insulation in our yard and blowing around (many neighbors complained). The response was" when the snow melted call them if we want them to clean it up". They should come and do it with out being told. Several months later, the gutters were done as well as the flashing around our chimney. Again more trash, and the flashing on our chimney was VERY LIGHT BEIGE on our DARK GRAY HOUSE. We recieved a bill in the mail and never had a follow-up inspection with Gary the GC. We called Teeters and said there were some areas that needed attention (i.e. some very unfinished cuts, the flashing, etc.). It then took over 6 weeks for him to show up (He said they had been very busy...[were other people waiting longer than us?]. The siding was taken care of but still it took over a month for the flashing to be repainted (with our paint) .Then after months, of little-to-no information, contact or reassurance that they had not forgotten us, the man who did the flasing wants a final payment of $5,700.00 check on the spot. The gutter worker did not have a final bill or compleation of job document. Again, no follow-up or walk around with the GC. We think the job is okay, but we are not professionals at this and he is. He should return and inspect his worker's perfomance and assure us that "in his professionl oppinion" this job is compleate and done to HIS satisfasction as well as ours .We should not have to contact him. After we refused to pay the gutter worker, they called and said their salesman, Steve, would be at our home the next day(before 11 am) to pick up the check. They called at 10:30 to say he was running LATE!!!! Again, no walk around with us. We did recieve a final invoice and varification the bill was paid in full. Yes, the weather has presented a lot of issues this year, yet they were "very busy" with someone elses home. All they had to do was stay in communication with us, perhaps weekly or bimonthly and let us know where the job stands.. We have had plenty of opportunity to address our own outside issues (painting, lawn care, ets), yet it took them 7 months to do the job. Then they wanted the check before we had time to transfer it back into our checking account. We tried to be as patient and understanding as possible, however the final straw was NOT having a follow-up/final visit with the GC and... wanting the gutterman to get payment and would not let us mail a check to them (were they afraid it would take us 7 months?). We always pay our bills on time! After 7 months and 1 day, the job is now done and paid for. It is okay, not a wow. The price was good but it was not a professsional positive experience. We would NOT recomend them or use them again.
Description of Work: Our home (2,500 sq feet) had aluminum siding removed and hauled away. We replaced it with 5" carved wood mastic vinyl siding. We also had new vinyl gutters all around and leaf guards around a portion of the house. Our chimney cap was to be replaced as well (but a portion was only repainted because thy no longer sell that screening cap in our size). We were charged $11,710.00 of which we paid $6,000 cash upfront and the remaining $5,710.00 on compleation.

I was really pleased with the entire project. They had a designer, Jessica who was excellent, that helped me pick out materials. I had new cabinets, new sink, new counter top, new plumbing, new electrical work and some new lighting installed. I was very satisfied with the products they suggested and the work. They were very prompt and took only about 7 or 8 days to finish. Al was the manager of the project and he was very thoughtful and meticulous. I'm very satisfied.

The salesman was great. He was very attentive and very good about answering questions I had while he was here and afterwards. I had one problem with the window, the plastic stops and the window keeps coming down and one of them broke very easily and he brought some out, he put one and he gave me two or three of those for nothing. They stuck to their word and they stuck to their estimate. I would recommend them because they've done a very good job. They were as quick as they said they would be and I had windows in one day and siding within the next two days. They were very timely. I compared their price to a lot of people and they were right in the middle. They were very good. I was very pleased with their work, the products I got and their professionalism they presented to me. I would use them again in the future.

I think overall the finished product was fine. It was during the holidays so there were some delays, which we were okay with. The biggest thing is their communication and when they were going to be out and when we could coordinate. That was a challenge. There was more work to be done so we were not going to pay the balance and it kind of dragged on. Our salesman did not have a lot of follow through. I was pushing it more than he was. I wanted to finish it and pay the bill and be done. The completion seemed to linger. We did finally get it done and got it all settled.

I had been looking for windows since last year and had many estimates but, when I got in touch withTteeters who was referred by a painter I wanted to do my painting job, the job came through without any setbacks. We met at our house and later went to the warehouse to look at the windows.
Description of Work: The Sales Rep Brian was very provessional in knowing the value and cost of windosw as we looked around the showroom, everyone in the office was very poliete and professional also. The amazing person was the installer named Larry. He performed his job on the windows with the same compassion and professionalism I used to put into when I used to do windows. We were told by Teeters Construction that our windows would be ready to install within 6-10 weeks. After TEN MONTHS, we still did not have them in our home. Repeated calls to the company were left unanswered, and we were lied to repeatedly about why the windows were not ready. Unprofessional to say the very best -- we were not impressed. Be forewarded to epect the usual contractor "run-around".

Everything was fine except punctuality. We started talking to them in October and it was supposed to be done in the fall and it didn't happen. Then we had an unusually cold and early winter. Then we ended up in March which was later than we planned. They were just slow getting out here. We asked about getting some other construction done and they were slow to look at it and give us the quote. Once they were on the site they were fine, but getting them here to do any of the preliminary steps was difficult. They were very slow in giving me the paperwork for getting the energy rebates. Once I called and yelled at them they sent it right away. It was in the last 3-4 weeks when they should have gotten it to me when we wrote the check in March. I had to ask one guy to stop smoking, but he stopped instantly. They were trustworthy in the house, they were very good about not leaving open spaces any longer than they had to and very efficient in putting the windows in.

They did a beautiful job! They coordinated all of their work with the flooring contractor so that they could all work at the same time. John Wisler, the designer and salesman, and Al Barnes, who oversaw the work, were a joy to work with. They were prompt and trustworthy, and Al is a perfectionist. They cleaned up after themselves daily. A job like this is very loud and messy, but it was not nearly as bad as it could have been! Not only that, every day but one they made sure the washer and dryer were accessible -- no laundromats needed.
Description of Work: They tore out and replaced the cabinets, backsplash and counters in our kitchen and laundry room. They tore out the flooring as well, but that was replaced by another company. They also installed the new microwave and re-installed the dishwasher, etc. Finally, they installed two of the old cabinets in the garage.

Overall the project went very well and we are pleased with the results. Knowledegable and patient salesperson. He came out when the work was done because we had some questions. He checked every window to ensure quality and answered our questions. One window will require a manufacturer rep to look at because it wasn't locking easily. Very good workmanship by the installers. They were friendly and courteous. I would suggest that the installers do a quality review with the Customer, before leaving the site. This doesn't seem to be a Teeters process. The installers didn't always arrive at the time promised, but they always showed up and got right to work. The crew did a few extra minor things which I really appreciated. After the job, I noticed they forgot to trim/caulk the exterior of one window and they sent someone out the very next day to correct the problem. Clean up was just acceptable, but not up to my expectations. I found 6 or so nails and very small sheet metal pieces in my yard, gardens and on the edge of my driveway. Teeters definitely needs to improve their cleanup process. In spite of some minor things, I would definitely use Teeters Construction again.
Description of Work: Replaced 13 old windows with Softlite Imperial LS vinyl windows. Replaced 1 patio door. Replaced cedar trim around 5 windows on the back of the house. Removed all old material and did acceptable clean up.

They came out last June and I explained to them exactly what I wanted done, and that I needed it to be done before the cold weather came. The salesman took forever to even get me the estimates. I tried to be very understanding. Finally last fall he got me the specs and made measurements. At that point I told them I wanted to be able to get my tax refund and wanted them installed by the end of the year. They assured me that they would be able to complete this. I went to the office, signed the order and gave them a $1900 deposit. During the first part of January, they called me saying that they needed to come out and measure. They had not even ordered my doors or windows yet. They said they should be able to get the doors and windows quickly. It took a couple months to get everything in. They finally finished around the beginning of March. I contacted an attorney, who told me it was too late to get the tax deduction, and that I should deduct that amount of the tax deduction plus the increase in fuel cost from my payment. I did not expect them to accept that discount, however I thought they would call me to reach some sort of resolution. I received a notice that a certified letter was sent to me that I needed to drive to a post office several miles away to pick it up. I was extremely busy with work, and didn’t make it across town to pick it up. They never even let me know that they had sent me a certified letter. After the certified time period had expired, I received a letter form them in the regular mail. I received a very letter from them this weekend that they are turning me over to collection and expecting 18% interest and putting a lean on my property. They claim that their contract states that they cannot guarantee dates when products need to be ordered. This was not a manufacturer’s delay. They had the use of my money since last fall and failed to place my order. In fact, they lost my order. Basically, what Teeter’s Construction is saying is that they can take a customer’s money to hold for their use for as long as they want , and the customers just has to get over it. They are making it seem as if it is not their fault that they lost my order and waited months and months to finally order my doors and windows.

It took almost 10 months to complete because the window manufacturer's products were not sized right or were incomplete. The actual work that was done by Teeters was great. I would've liked a little more feedback from Teeters as to what was occuring. I mostly had to reach out to them to find out what was going on. Great work by Teeters installers, and a "thanks" to Russ who was in charge of the job!

Steve and Brian (owner) came out to give me an estimate to replace our front entry door including the frame. They took the time to explain, measure and understand what we were looking for. Steve indicated he would send me an estimate. I never received the estimate. A few weeks later, I left a voicemail for Steve indicating I never received an estimate. He never responded to my call and didn't send the estimate. Very disappointing because we've had good experiences with Teeters up until then and were going to use them for the door. We decided to use another company on Angie's List to replace the door.

Because it took a few weeks to get an appointment for measuring the windows, there was a delay in starting the process (ordering and making the windows). There were some communication problems within the company and also with us; the estimate for making the windows was 12 weeks and it took almost 20 weeks. We didn't hear back after 12 weeks so we made serial phone calls to check on the progress. Calls back were quick. The sales person and support staff were very apologetic for the delays. Once the windows were made, the installation was quick and well done. The windows are good quality, well-made windows. They are exactly what we ordered and needed.
