'Brian Teeter came out, surveyed the job and indicated a quote would be forthcoming. I have heard nothing in the 6+ weeks since. Follow-up phone calls to office staff resulted in promises that he would get back to me. That hasn't happened! If Teeters doesn't want to do the work just tell me. Total lack of professionalism has been shown.

Took several phone calls just to get a quote. They were slow in returning messages.
Description of Work: We had had windows installed by Teeter's in 2003 & 2004. We were happy with that installation. This review is not about that. This review is about their responsiveness to getting a window repaired from a storm in 2013.

The installers were great. They needed to re-schedule by a week, and they arrived on time and did a great job However,I had many communication problems with the salesman, Jason. He did not return phone calls, and I had to 'catch him in' to get a response and then he would offer 'excuses' as to why he was not able to return several phone calls to him over a period time and only got better after I voiced my dissatisfaction with his lack of response. I even left two messages for Brian Teeters, the owner, to call me, and he too, never returned a phone call to me, and still has not, to this day. I have used this company two times before to install windows and never had a problem, which is why I called them for the storm door installation. While I was very happy with the installers themselves, and the job they did, I am not happy with the customer service I rec'd as well as the fact that the owner did not care enough either to return a call. For that reason, I would not use them again, as I do not want to deal with a company that I cannot get in contact with, or returns phone calls,k and who does not value customer service. Since I have used them in the past, obviously their way of doing business has changed.
Description of Work: Removed and Installed new storm door. Great job done by installers themselves and very nice men.

WE HAVE HIRED THIS COMPANY 3 TIMES IN THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE WATCHED AS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PROFESSIONALISM IN THEIR BUSINESS HAS STEADILY DECLINED THE FIRST TIME WE HIRED TEETERS WAS A LITTLE OVER 4 YEARS AGO. THE SALESMAN WAS VERY EXPERIENCED AND POLITE. HE TOOK HIS TIME WITH US, AND FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH PHONE CALLS, KEEPING US INFORMED OF THE PROGRESS OF OUR ORDER. AT THIS TIME TEETERS REPLACED 15 DOUBLE HUNG WINDOWS AND A BACK DOOR, AND EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. 18 MONTHS LATER, WE RETURNED TO TEETERS TO HAVE 8 MORE WINDOWS AND OUR FRONT ENTRY WAY REPLACED. THE ORIGINAL GENTLEMAN WHO HAD HELPED US HAD “LEFT THE COMPANY” AND OUR JOB WAS REFERRED TO JASON. THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEMS STARTED. JASON WAS UNPROFESSIONAL, LACKADAISICAL, AND FAILED TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON OUR ORDER. WHEN I CALLED MR. BRIAN TEETER’S, HE SAID HE WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM. MR. TEETER’S CAME OUT TO OUR HOME AND REVIEWED THE PROJECT HIMSELF. I STATED THAT I DID NOT WANT JASON INVOLVED IN OUR JOB, AS I FOUND HIS PROFESSIONALISM AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL LACKING. AFTER THE INITIAL DELAY DUE TO JASON’S LACK OF FOLLOW THROUGH, OUR NEXT PROJECT WAS COMPLETED WITH AFTER AN UNEXPECTED DELAY, BUT COMPLETED MOSTLY TO OUR SATISFACTION. LAST FALL, WE NEEDED 3 MORE WINDOWS REPLACED. I GUESS THIS BILL WASN’T GOING TO BE BIG ENOUGH TO WARRANT MR. TEETER’S ATTENTION. JASON WAS AGAIN SENT TO OUR HOME TO CONTRACT THE WORK. MY HUSBAND REMINDED HIM OF HOW UNSATISFACTORILY OUR LAST ENCOUTER WITH HIM ENDED. ONE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT JASON WOULD HAVE TRIED HARD TO BE PROFICIENT, BUT NO – HIS ATTENTION AND PROFESSIONALISM WAS EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE. ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2013, WE ENTERED INTO YET ANOTHER CONTRACT WITH TEETER’S. DESPITE CALLS AND QUESTIONS, OUR NEW WINDOWS WERE NEVER DELIVERED IN 2013. (BY MR. TEETER’S OWN WORDS, OUR WINDOWS “SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED BY LATE NOVEMBER OR EARLY DECEMBER). WE FINALLY WENT TO THE BUILDER’S SHOW, WHERE MY HUSBAND APPROACHED MR. TEETER’S AT THEIR BOOTH. OF COURSE, HIS INEFFECTIVE SIDEKICK JASON WAS PRESENT. WHEN MY HUSBAND QUESTIONED THEM AS TO WHAT WAS THE HORRIFIC DELAY (IT WAS NOW JANUARY – WE HAD NO RESPONSE FROM TEETER’S SINCE WE SIGNED THE CONTRACT AND PAID FOR THE WINDOWS). THE ONLY RESPONSE WE RECEIVED WAS “OH, IT MUST HAVE FALLEN THROUGH THE CRACKS”. REALLY!! WE SPENT ONE OF THE WORST WINTERS IN COLUMBUS WITH POOR WINDOWS BECAUSE TEETER’S FAILED TO DELIVER ON A PRODUCT THAT HAD BEEN PAID FOR. OUR WINDOWS WERE FINALLY INSTALLED IN LATE FEBRUARY BY AN INDEPENDENT COMPANY HIRED BY TEETER’S. WHEN MY HUSBAND QUESTIONED JASON AS TO HOW TEETER’S INTENDED TO COMPENSATE US FOR THE EXTENSIVE DELAY AND LACK OF SERVICE, JASON’S RESPONSE WAS “WELL, I DON’T KNOW. I’LL HAVE TO SEE”. THE RESPONSE WE RECEIVED WAS THAT MR. TEETER’S BILLED US FOR THE ENTIRE BALANCE DUE. I GUESS THAT SHOWS HOW MUCH HE VALUES HIS REPUTATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE USE THIS COMPANY. AS LONG AS THEY KEEP EMPLOYEES THAT FAIL TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON PROJECTS, AND MR. TEETER’S SEEMS TO FEEL THAT THIS IS EXCEPTABLE, THEIR SERVICE WILL NEVER IMPROVE. WE HAVE 9 MORE WINDOWS AND A FRENCH DOOR TO REPLACE BEFORE THE ENTIRE PROJECT IS FINISHED. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE WINDOWS TO LET THEM KNOW WHY WE WILL NOT ALLOW TEETER’S BACK IN OUR HOME AND HAVE ASKED FOR ANOTHER DISTRIBUTOR. WE HAVE ALSO TOLD EVERYONE THAT WE KNOW, AS WELL AS REPORTED TO MANY CONSUMER SITES – NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO PUT UP WITH SUCH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ACCOUNTABILITY.

First met with Brian Teeters on August 1. We needed to replace the front window since the wood sash had rotted out. He explained all the available choices to me. I wanted real wood on the inside to match the rest of the house and he told me about an Amish gentleman they work with who could do the wood work. We matched woods and stains carefully and also picked out specific colors for the vinyl that closely matched my very unusual color scheme and the order was placed. The window was not ready until November but Brian had told me it could take that long so I was prepared to wait. Installation was on November 23 and it went beautifully. There was absolutely no mess and the window looks great. The new window will probably last longer than the old one (25 years) because the wood is now poplar, not pine, and the outside is vinyl.

The price was average to medium. We could have got it cheaper, but I do not think we would have got the quality of work. We were content and happy with it because they did a very good job. The roof was not put on the way it should have been in the very beginning, but they gave us pointers as what needed to be done to bring it up to where it should be. They were right on-time.
Description of Work: Teeters Window & Remodeling did several things for us. They did an entire new roof and replaced some of the sidings in front of the house that were blown off during the storm.

It went very well. He met us when he said he would for the estimate. He came back a few days later to go over the entire quote for the main project and the additional windows. He was easy to relate to and answered all of our questions. The installed met us when he said he would do the final measurements. He was a very nice guy. Can't remember his name. A few weeks later after the custom windows were done he was back to install. They were quick and clean about it. I would highly suggest you have them quote your next job. They will be my first phone call next time I have a bigger job that needs attention. Also, I received a call from the office person asking me if it would be ok if they put the date on the check I sent them for the final bill. I must have overlooked that, but I thought it was nice for them to reach out to at least ask. Thanks Brian and everyone at Teeters Construction
Description of Work: Tree fell on side of house. Teeters replaced the corner section of roof, siding/shingles on front dormers, replaced damaged windows, drywall on inside of effected room, and painting. I was so impressed with Brian, the owner. He came out explained his background and the company's, explained what they could do for me and how the process would work. He answered all of our questions and provided us with a quote within a few days. I had three companies quote this job. For me the reason he got the job was the overall impressions I got from him as well as some additional work he quoted. I ended up having him do that entire job AND window replacements on the entire house.

Didn't use this company due to all of the problems listed above
Description of Work: We are in the process of getting three quotes to remodel our kitchen. The remodel includes removing existing island, replace with 10 ft. Island, replace all counter tops with granite, replace back splash tile, replace all wood floors in kitchen, hearth room, foyer and half bath. Expand existing pantry and bump it back 6 inches. Brian Teeter, owner, came to our house on December 21, 2012 to measure and give me a quote. He said he would email me the quote by the end of that week or the next week. I was more than patient due to the holidays falling on those weeks. I waited several weeks and still no response. I finally called him a few weeks after the quote was promised and left him a voicemail asking where it was. He finally called me back a week later and said he had been out of town but would email it the next day. A couple of weeks passed and we saw him at a builders show. I asked him where my quote was and he said his email wasn't working at home so he would send it on Monday. Today is February 14, 2013 and I still have no quote from him. They have wasted my time and I had to contact yet another company to come out for a quote. Obviously, this guy doesn't need our business. I can't believe an owner of a company would treat a customer like this. What a bad example to set for your employees. I would advise anyone who is thinking of using Teeter Construction to go elsewhere. If their follow through is this bad on the initial visit think how bad it would be if they were working in your home. I would recommend Dave Fox remodelers or Elite Home Remodeling. Both of these companies are very professional, sent me the quotes when they said they would and returned my phone calls in a timely manner. They both actually treat you like a customer should be treated.

After reviewing many companies and their windows, we decided to go with Teeter's to install and paint new wood windows in our home. The windows were installed in 2 different groupings - front of the house first and back of the house second. I did have to follow-up to get a start date on the installs. Teeters did excellent work - the installations were done with quality and the crew cleaned up after themselves. One window was ordered wrong - but the correct one was re-ordered and installed. I had bid the painting of the windows out to teeters - who used another company to do the work. There were a couple of issues with the scheduling of the painters - however, their workmanship was really good. I had additional work to do on the house and had asked for quotes from teeters to do the work. I called to check on the status of the quotes and was told they were emailed to me. I never received the emails and called the office to have the quotes sent via post office so I could start on additional projects. I have since called the office a number of times without receiving a return call. We paid for the services in a timely fashion and provided a good work environment. I was not able to understand why I was not getting a response for my inquiry for additional work.

Teeters came out, discussed the options, measured the opening, put the window on order, removed the old window, installed the new one, and fabricated decorative casing on-site. The results are entirely satisfactory; the window looks very nice. I was not impressed, however, with the method used to remove the old window glass: The crew hung a drop cloth against the window with painter's tape and knocked the glass out with a hammer. The drop cloth started coming away from the window frame, and the broken glass made a bit of a mess (which the crew did thoroughly clean up). It seems to me that it would have been simpler, neater, and more professional to apply a sheet of adhesive film and use a glass cutter. And I'm particularly annoyed that the cost included a charge for lead abatement or remediation. The window sill did have lead paint on it, but the crew did not take any special precautions during installation nor check lead levels afterward. Update: After I complained, Teeters did refund the $75 lead abatement charge.

We got them off of Angie's List. They are in Gahanna but they came out to Pickerington to do our estimate. They came out, went through it, and looked it all and after that we have called them 5 times but they do not respond to calls; they said they will get back to us but zero response. It has been two and a half months since they came out. I cannot believe this. Every time I call the office to talk to somebody, they apologize and say they will get back to me. Their customer service is horrible. They are not very professional because they did not show up or call back.

Two weeks ago, Brian Teeters called me - he had been on vacation. He came out to take a look at what needed to be done with the shutters. Today, June 28, 2012, Teeters sent out two gentleman to hang the shutters for me at no additional charge. I just wanted Angie's List readers to know that the issue I had was in fact resolved by the company and I'm happy to see those shutters up there on the 2nd story - yay!
Description of Work: I have used this company twice for replacement windows (once at our old house and once at our new house.) In both instances we replaced all of the windows in the home. First let me say that I would have given them higher marks for the service they provided at our old house. We had no problems with the windows, pricing was right, the guys did a great job and we were very happy. I really like the fact that Teeters will tell you about several different window manufacturers and will try to give you some options within your price range. (many window companies just sell one vinyl window - Teeters can tell you about several vinyl windows by different manufacturers.) We moved in August of 2009 and needed new windows so I called Teeters again. We had the windows put in in November 2010. When they came to do the windows they realized that the old windows snuck in a bit behind the aluminum siding - in other words it wasn't as easy as just take out the old window and put in the new. The measurements weren't quite working out. So they have this nice white trim around every single new window. I even wrote them a note to tell them how pleased I was with the care that they took to make it right. The problem is the upstairs shutters. There is a top piece that goes along the top of the window and it is connected to the side shutter pieces. They couldn't be re-hung because now the window (with the nice white trim) was wider and the shutters no longer fit. We had a carpentry guy add wood to lengthen the top piece and we repainted the shutters. I contacted Teeters (once in person when Brian was here adjusting a window) - he told me that he would have one of his contractor guys contact me to get the shutters hung. He was hoping to save me money by working with the contractor guy directly (and taking out Teeters as the middleman). No one ever called. Eventually I got around to e-mailing Teeters. No response. Finally, last week I called Brian's cell phone. In my voicemail to him I told him that I think that re-hanging the shutters ought to be part of the job but in any event I just want it done. No response. Now I'm calling handymen to see if someone can come hang up two pairs of shutters - and it's probably going to run me $100. I'm just getting a little impatient since it's been like a year and a half with no shutters on the upstairs. Thus, my lower rating on responsiveness - it's truly frustrating because overall I had a really good impression of this company - and these silly shutters have left a sour taste in my mouth. .
All the workers seemed very nice. They kept things as clean as possible. They put plastic over doors to keep down the dust and covered my floors to keep them safe. They had a schedule of what was to be done and really kept with it. They made a beautiful kitchen that I am really pleased with.
Description of Work: They remodeled the kitchen, removed soffits from the ceiling, put in cabinets, back splash, flooring, plumbing, electric, and painting. They replaced the trim work and pantry doors.

We set up an appointment for the following Thursday, Feb 23. Before he arrived, another contractor showed up unannounced to complete an estimate for replacing my roof. Teeter Construction showed up on time, and began measuring the house for the painting job. After the roofer left, he said that they also did roofs, so I ask him to go ahead and give me a quote on the roofing job. When he was finished outside, he went upstairs and checked out the bathroom remodel job. When he left with all his measurements, he said that he would have a quote to me in a couple days. We saw him again at the Columbus Home and Garden Show the following Sunday. He joked with my wife about going 3 years with a gutted master bath, and told us he would have the quotes for the 3 jobs to us later that week. It is over a month now, and we have not heard a word from Teeter Construction. I did receive 3 other estimates on the painting, and another A rated Angie's list company has already power washed the stucco and is to come tomorrow to paint. I received 4 estimates on the roofing, and an A rated Angie's List company is to come next Tuesday to start the roof replacement. My wife will have to wait a little longer to get the bath remodel completed.
Description of Work: We met a rep from this company at the Columbus Home Improvement Show at Vets. I requested an estimate for painting the exterior stucco on my home. My wife also requested he give us a quote on finishing a gutted master bath. While he was at the house for the 2 estimates, he said he would also provide an estimate for re-roofing the house.

We started demolition the begining of summer and had a project plan. By mid summer, the new structure, plumbing, electrical and walls were in place and the cabinents installed. Then the project manager was fired/quit? He was not replaced. This is when the project took a turn for the worst. The salesperson was tasked with managing the completion of the project. It seemed the salesperson didn't have the time or experience to take on a project manager role. Typical project manager tasks like sequencing of workers to minimize worker recalls did not happen. We often felt we had to prompt many tasks with phone calls to keep the momentum going and get people out to finish the job. (For the amount of money the project cost - how could we slip through the cracks?) They use outside contractors and sometimes had trouble finding one and scheduling the work to be done in a timely manner. We were pleased with some of the contractors' work but there were some whose work was poor and had to be called back two or three times. Communication was poor: I was shown a tile design and believed that was what I was getting, but the dimensions were written up differently in the contract (maybe a mistake?). Status and/or contractor remarks were sometimes not relayed back to us. Our complaints fell upon what seemd to be deaf ears, but the owner was responsive when we escalated problems to him. What was originally planned to be a 2-3 month job according to the initial project plan turned into a 5-6 month job.
Description of Work: We completely remodeled our kitchen. We moved a wall to make the kitchen larger, removed ceiling soffit, installed new cabinets with granite counter tops, and new flooring which included our foyer and hallway leading to the kitchen. We replaced everything with the exception of the appliances, although we relocated them and they had to be reinstalled.

I was very impressed with Teeters, Steve Moore and the window installation crew. Steve came out to my house to give me a sales quote on the windows. Compared to the other salesmen I worked with he was the best. After choosing Teeters, I had a great overall experience. The window installation went great and was fairly quick. I love my new vinyl windows. I would recommend this company to others and use them again in the future. On a final note Steve even drove to my house on December 30th to drop off some paper work that I had to submit for a energy credit the next day.

This was our second project with Teeters (the first was new windows). Steve Moore was patient and understanding. He gave us a quote which was a little higher than we had anticipated but it wasn't out of sight. The quote called for placing the new siding over the existing siding, but we changed our mind and asked them to remove the old siding first. Steve rewrote the quote for us, adding a small additional amount for the removal. We were unsure about the color we wanted and asked for a half-dozen or so large samples - the 1 inch squares on the display boards are way too small. This was the most disappointing part of the project: they did not have samples in a larger size and so had to get some from the manufacturer. It took almost 4 weeks to get the samples. Once we got the samples and selected the color, they did final measurements and the siding was ordered from the manufacturer. We were told it would be 2 weeks or so before the siding arrived. We asked them to schedule the installation the installation either before or after our upcoming vacation. We had trouble getting the job scheduled because there seemed to be a communication breakdown with the installer because he never called when Steve said he would. After several attempts, I complained to Steve, and told him it was important for them to keep us informed and in the loop. The began the job two days after we returned from vacation and 3 days later it was done. The installation crew arrived early each morning and put in a full days work. They did a great job of picking up the area around the house each day. We're quite happy with the results.
Description of Work: Removed old cedar shake on front of house and from chimney box and replaced with vinyl siding that looks like cedar shake. Also replaced old, rusted chimney cap.
