Seemed nice though I would not use him again

I didn't engage him for service, he told me just go to angies list and contact someone else. to make an excuse that his daughter threw away my telephone number and couldn't contact me was very unprofessional. so I am still looking for a handman that wants to work. and not one that only comes out with an 2-hour minimum whether he is working for 15 minutes or 30 minutes. he charges for 2-hours of work. he just slammed the phonedown in my ear and it was plain to me he didn't need the business. maybe he was having a bad day but I was shocked to find suvch unprofessionalism on angies list. I would not recommend him to anyone. I have never met the man, so maybe he is just unorganized in his business, but most professionals have caller ID and the number is saved on your phone. you don't need to write it down for reference.

I telephoned and left a message of the issue on August 19, 2013. The company never did return my telephone call; not even to say they were not interested in the issue. I knew it was a small job - toilet repair . Common courtesy would have been to return my call and tell me they were not interested which I would have understood. I am giving this grade because professionalism would require a return call.

He was really reasonable and on time. He was very talkative, mostly telling me what he was doing and what he needed to do next. He seems to be very straightforward and honest. He seemed to know what he was doing as far as replacing the broken glass pane. The pricing was fair. He was very responsive and he was right on time. I would use him in the future.

The overall experience was very satisfactory. He arrived on time and was very friendly but professional. I would definitely hire him again. The work was professionally done.

Overall it went well. Sterling is up front about what he will and will not do. He did not fix my ceiling fan because he was not comfortable with the way it was initially wired, and he gave me a number for an electrician.

He came out and took measurements. I bought the window from Lowe's. He mentioned the work would be $35/hr and no travel charge. I called him back after I purchased the window and asked how much it would cost. He said it would $175 because he had to bring 2 men out and a truck. He also told me that there was no way I could have paid that price i paid for the window from Lowe's and spoke condescendingly. I would not recommend this guy to anyone or even consider him to move a trashcan.

Overall, the project turned out very well.

It went very well, and we would hire him again. He was here on time, did the job that was required, and he did it in timely fashion. The price was good.

Sterling gave an estimate that was far better than other estimates, and provided several references and some useful information about other aspects of the renovation project. Over several days he and his assistant arrived on time and turned an ugly disaster into smooth, blemish-free walls. I don't even want to think about how much physical labor went into sanding down all the excess paint spray and skimcoat compound. I am exceedingly happy with the work they did, and everyone that has seen the house after they have left (especially those that saw it before they fixed it all up) are blown away. Their final bill came in well within the ballpark he provided when doing the initial estimate walk-through and I have not found any hidden issues that would cause me to be unhappy with the work.

Again, he was very nice, but the quality of workmanship was less than we desired.

Sterling was able to get to my house the very next day after I called him (on a holiday even!) and check out the problem. He was punctual, professional and was happy to answer questions that I had about other issues in my house. He said he'd be happy to return if there was a problem. I would use him again for sure.

He did a marvelous job. We are really happy for what he did for us. He is very thorough and very neat. He is very conscious about his work. He is an all around good guy.

Sterling was great to work with. He offered some expert advice, did an outstanding job and was extremely punctual. I would definitely hire him again.

I have called upon Sterling before in the past and he's very professional and reliable. He shows up on time prepared and ready to go to work. He and a co-worker came over tore down what was left of the fence, cleared some shrubbery away, dug the post holes, poured the concrete and put up the fence in one day. I was impressed by how quickly they put up the fence and cleared away the rubbish. Before he left, my wife asked Sterling if he could replace a door at her mother's house. We have been consistently pleased with Sterling's work ethic and will call upon his services again. Highly recommended.

First I believe Sterling means well. Next I blame a portion on myself because I have always been set against paying someone an hourly wage because you never know how long it will take and they might extend the job, but I didn't listen to myself. I work 1st shift so you didn't know what time the worker(s) got there, did they show up at 9am and actually work until 3pm? the next thing if I am a handyman I should know what I need for a job as far as what supplies are needed and if the customer is paying to leave a job or stop on the way to the job, I will get a complete list of supplies that are needed for the job I am trying to accomplish so I am not running back and forth to Lowes. I feel the handyman is working for me and I want work performed to equal money spent and in some cases I feel we didn't receive this on a day to day basis. The plumbing came up way short, the closet by the tub will not shut, I had to insist that the shower plumbing be corrected because of the way it was installed the lever to turn the water on was 10 to 12 inches off and the spout of the tub would of been at the top of the tub. He came out the next day and fixed my concerns and I was not charged for this day. I feel out of all the work the plumbing should of went fairly smooth since all walls were open and it was straight forward. Each day it seems a little work was done for the plumbing and it was probably 1 1/2 to 2 weeks charged because of the plumbing and I would get that it's close. Well Last Friday he was still on the plumbing and some pipe were going up hill for draining. I told him this wouldn't work and the pipe is going up hill and after this I told him I would finish the job. When I had concerns of money versus work or showing up or time paid for getting supplies he said he did not want me to nickel and dime him. Also the last day when adding up the hours for this past week I reminded him that he had told me on the phone that is assistant only worked 4 hours instead of 6 hours and he had given me receipts that wasn't even to my job. In some aspects of the job I believe they performed above and I have nothing but the best to say but the plumbing was not at the level I had expected when paying as much as $35 to $70 per hour. I now will have to hire a plumber to check and recheck what was performed and fix what is necessary. Would I hire Sterling again? Depends on what the job is and if we could come to an agreement on a set price.

After a top rated company on Angie's List cancelled on me twice, I called Sterling, and I couldn't be more pleased. He was able to squeeze me into his busy schedule. He called while on his way, which I appreciated. He and his helper were polite and professional, and his price was very reasonable. I will definitely use Sterling again.

I knew Sterling since he replaced my kitchen faucet and did a very nice job. I decided to get an estimate from him for powerwashing and painting the exterior of my house. Sterling gave me the estimate and went over exactly what work would be performed. This included: powerwashing entire house (3 sides=siding, 1 side=wood) and back deck, removing exterior plastic shutters and downspouts, replacing any wood that needed it (none did), caulking gaps, painting all exposed wood and downspouts, restaining deck and finally replacing shutters with new ones. I thought that the price was very reasonable given the all of the work that was to be performed. Sterling has a great group of guys that do various work for him and he used 2-3 guys to help with this job. Sterling closely supervised their activities and made sure that the work they did was done perfectly. Sterling also did some work himself when he had time. The work was 99% completed in about a week which was fine. The entire work area was kept neat and everything was cleaned up when they were done. I was impressed by the quality of the work done, the professionalism of his helpers and the overall experience. Sterling pays very close attention to detail and the final results show this. My house looks like new again! I know that a review of interior painting is needed but hopefully this review will help and also I am planning on having Sterling do some more jobs around the house since I have been extremely satisfied with what he has done for me so far.

Based on Angie's List rating, I called Sterling to inquire about replacing my broken kitchen faucet. Sterling answered and after discussing what I needed, gave me an estimate on when he could do the work. After purchasing the replacement faucet I wanted, I called Sterling back and he came over the very next day on time and replaced the faucet. Before doing any work, he went over the cost and made sure I understood. I thought his cost was quite a bit lower than what a normal plumbing company would charge. He promptly went to work and had all the materials with him that he needed which saved time. He put down blankets around the work area to not make a mess which was great. Total cost was for about two hours worth of work and $12 for additional parts needed (hoses on new faucet were not long enough). He guaranteed his work and said to call him at any time if something wasn't right with his work. I was so impressed by his work ethic and work quality that I got an estimate from him to paint my house. I thought the painting estimate was very reasonable so I scheduled him to do this also. Finally, he mentioned that he won't do any work that he hasn't done before so that definitely made me more comfortable with the work quality. I would not hesitate to recommend Sterling to anyone needing a handyman's services.

Excellent. Mr. Sterling is a very knowledgeable and versatile handyman who is trying to build a customer base by providing prompt and through service. He was able to repair the door frame with the materials he had on hand. He was friendly and conversational, but not to the point that it interfered with the accomplishment of the task at hand. I would not hesitate to call on him again and highly recommend him to others.

Great! He is always punctual, which is very important to me. He also explains how things work and what he did. Plus, my pets love him!

He was kind of in a hurry. Didn't use him for the whole 2 hours, but was still charged $70. He did a good job. I had a problem with my washer - he did come back a few days later and did not charge me.

He was on time, reasonably priced, and stayed until he finished the job.

Sterling returned my call promptly. The job was quick and neat. Cost was reasonable, too. Will use his service again.

I was thrilled! The work Sterling did in my home did not disrupt my lifestyle or my home based business in any way. He completed the projects in a timely and professional manner. I have not hesitated recommending Sterling to friends and family.
