Our website is: www.ScottHallRemodeling.com
Thoroughout this bathroom upgrade, Scott communicated all the details that were about to occur and the steps in the process. He was always on time and professional. The Sentrel product went up first around the tub along with the new tub and fixtures. Within a few days the custom cabinet was delivered and the lighting was ready. The stone for the countertop was fabricated as they were working on other things so that it was ready to install within a week. Scott coordinated all the jobs to flow continuously so that the entire upgrade was complete in a short period of time.
Description of Work: After looking at Scott's website, I decided to try the Sentrel product for our kid's bathroom upgrade. We met and decided on the plans for the bathroom and he began to order things right away. All the custom items were beautifully crafted and the colors coordinated well.

We did not use Scott for the job and chose another contractor, though Scott was definitely a close second. I wanted to comment on how impressive Scott was. I would definitely consider him for future work.
Description of Work: We called Scott to estimate remodeling our kitchen. That included new cabinets, counters, backsplash, electrical, pumbing, fixtures, flooring and removing a wall into the diningroom to open up the kitchen.

This was as smooth an experience as I have ever had. Scott's strong suit is communication. He is extremely responsive and keeps you up to the minute on how the project is going. Attention to detail and committment to a high quality product are also strong points for him. I also found him to be very fair-minded whenever we encountered any bumps in the road, of which there were precious few. I would recommend Scott without any hesitation and would certainly work with him again.

Thank you for filling out a great report Member. Your report says exactly as you described to me, how happy you were. A few details in this project were a little complex and as anything else, as complexity grows, sometimes we have to come up with solutions on the spot. I am glad that you were so happy with the project, the communication, and the way the solutions to a couple surprises were quickly arrived at. One mention here of multiple projects. Yes, very true, we often run two projects at one time to stay competitive, but never do we leave someones project hanging without anything being done. And as you mentioned we finished exactly on schedule. Thanks again so much:)

Scott and his crew exceeded ALL of our expectations. We went with him based upon his flawless reviews on here. His quote was not the cheapest but we just felt his professionalism and communication made his company stand out. Workers always were on time and took great care of our house during the remodel. The attention to detail was tremendous!! We have been using our remodeled bathroom for a few months now and the quality has been fantastic. His quality standards are even higher than ours. There was a SMALL issue with the installation of our granite countertops that WE weren't even aware of. The installation was not up to Scott's level of expectation so he contacted the granite company and they came out and reinstalled it. The end result was definitely better. If you are considering a remodel, I would recommend Scott Hall without reservation. His prices will probably be more than some of your other quotes, but believe me, it is worth the difference!

I contacted 3 contractors, all from Angie's List, and I was impressed with Scott's responsiveness, sincerity and professionalism. Although his was not the lowest bid, it was fair and his proposal was very thorough. I felt I could trust him and I'm glad I did! My first impressions were reinforced throughout the process. Greg did most of the work on the bathroom, and he does beautiful work, whether it's laying tile, painting or finishing work. They are both great guys, and when I need another bathroom done, I'll be calling them!
Description of Work: Scott and Greg remodeled our guest bathroom, which is a 1960s era full bath. They gutted it, then tiled the floor and tub area, replaced the cabinet, tub and toilet, painted the room and installed the faucets, towel rods, etc. The job took three weeks, which is exactly what Scott told me in his proposal.

I left a message for Scott and he returned my call within 3 hours. After explaining what we needed done in our master bath, he suggested that we contact directly the glass design company that he works with. He gave me the name, phone number and email of the salesperson that I should talk to. I was very impressed by Scott's professionalism and honesty. This master bath job is tiny (just need new shower enclosure), but when it's time to finish our basement....I will be calling Scott back for that job!

I have a pretty small master bath and have wanted it remodeled since I bought my home. I finally decided to have it done, and I heard about Scott from my sister and brother-in-law. Scott did a FANTASTIC job on their master bath, which is tons bigger than mine. I wanted to work with someone who valued the quality of a job over the size of the project, and I met with Scott. He made it obvious that the size of the project didn't matter, and that the quality of the work and the satisfaction of his customer are the important issues for him. The entire project went great from the beginning. Scott and Kevin were so great to work with, very professional, courteous, and kept the house so neat during all the work I was amazed. Scott continually kept me updated on the progress of my project, and that was really reassuring. I especially appreciated their patience with a "first-time remodeler"! I had lots of questions that were always answered promptly, and if I changed my mind about something, they made it ok and made it all work out. The other member of Scott's team I met was Dan, who makes the most beautiful cabinets! I originally planned to only replace the vanity, but after I saw Dan's work I had to have the shelf and medicine cabinet too!! Denise at the Tile Shop was also so helpful and so nice to work with, she really helped with choosing my flooring tile and I love it!! I am completely happy with my new bathroom. It turned out better than I imagined, and that is due to the quality of the work that Scott and Kevin do. I came into this project with a few basic ideas about tile color and paint color, and the rest came with their help!! Sincerely, Sharon Sack PS. Thanks for talking me out of the green paint Kevin!!
Description of Work: Complete bathroom/shower remodel. Constructed and tiled new shower floor to ceiling using all new mildew resistant drywall products, new tile on the bathroom floor, installed the new cabinetry, replaced old can light with new and repaired the ceiling, installed all the new plumbing valves and faucets etc, and installed new lighting and electrical outlet/switches.

Scott was one of the only companies willing to do a "small" job. He came out and gave us a written estimate for the work. We decided to replace the flooring as well as the shower and he amended the contract on the spot. Al was the person that did the work. He was very courteous, and extremely tidy. The work took a little longer than first estimated, but Scott and Al kept us abreast of all the delays. This is a company that I will continue to use, and will recommend to all my friends. We couldn't be more pleased with the results!

I am so happy that things turned out I am really glad yo liked the end product. I am not sure if you are confusing me with another company about "initial price too high but negotiable"...or... Just to clarify.... I had given you an optional discount for this project if we packaged it with your bathroom project because we could do both things at once and that would make it more cost effective for us. When you decided you were not going to do the bathroom project (stating you did not have the funds to spend the money right now) I could not apply the discounted price to this project. My experience of this is that you related that was clear and totally fine and you understood. If somehow that wasn't understood, I do apologize. The price did not change. It was simply that the optional discount did not apply as you decided against doing the other work that would have made the discount apply. Thanks so much for using our services! Scott

A friend recommended his contractor friend to me, and this contractor did visit my house. He discussed the issue with me, set up a date to begin work, and then I never heard from him again. After four attempts to contact him, I joined Angie?s List to find a reputable contractor and happened upon Scott Hall?s name. I chose Scott initially because he had great reviews and it appeared that even though he does very gorgeous high-end bathrooms, he also does a lot of more modest (middle of the road) bath renovations. I called and left a message, hoping that I would hear from him, and I did hear from him within the hour! He had me explain over e-mail what I needed and wanted done, and he asked me to e-mail him some photos of my bathroom so he could get an overall feeling for the job and how much it might cost. I really liked that he did this because it saved me from having to take time off from work. After the initial e-mail and photos, Scott sent me an estimated budget range of what he thought the job would cost and how long it might take. After I said I was interested, Scott and his employee, Kevin, visited the house to see the bathroom. They visited in the evening, so once again I did not have to take time off from work. He said the job would take from three to four weeks, and they were done in three and a half weeks! I actually did not take one minute off from work throughout the entire project. I gave them a key to my house and never regretted that decision! Scott?s employee, Kevin, was in charge of doing the work, and he did a GREAT job! Kevin tried very hard to contain the dust and cleaned up the mess every evening. Scott was involved ensuring that everything was on track and kept me updated on progress. Yes, there was dust; there is always dust when construction is involved, but Kevin went above and beyond my expectations in trying to contain it. I also have four cats. For the first week, my cats were shut in two bedrooms, and when asked, Kevin was kind enough to let them out when he was done if I wasn?t home. After the first week, it was becoming impossible to find the cats in the mornings because they did not want to be in the bedrooms. I spoke with Kevin, who said it was fine if I left them out during the day. So, for the last two weeks, my cats enjoyed their normal routine, which was a huge relief to me! His other employee, Dave, made a fantastic custom vanity and medicine cabinet for the bathroom when no standard ones would fit. Scott and Kevin were very willing to work with me to try to contain the cost and were very patient as I changed my mind and added a few other items that I wanted done. They were also very willing to give me their ideas and recommendations for what needed done and for this I am very grateful because I really was clueless about much of it. Scott and Kevin always responded to my e-mails and phone calls very quickly and they followed through on all of the small details that needed done at the end. My bathroom renov
Description of Work: Completely demolished (tear out) main bathroom (upstairs) down to studs; replaced all subflooring around toilet/tub area and made and installed custom shims to level floor; removed old door jam; tore out window, altered window frame for glass block window installation; installed Wedi board around tub/shower area; installed new bathtub, toilet, and sinks, plus plumbing for these items, including pipes, faucets, drains, and shower pipe and head; installed tile for floor and tile for shower walls up to ceiling, including two shelves, soap dish, and towel rack; installed custom vanity, medicine cabinet, and standard cabinet over the toilet; installed all towel racks, mirror, and toilet paper holder; had glass doors on tub/shower installed; installed new fan/light and fixed electrical outlets for the new fan (no fan was in bathroom previously); changed out bone-colored electrical outlets for white ones; and hauled away all construction debris. Also replaced faucet, towel rack, and toilet paper holder in other bathroom (downstairs) to match new bathroom; fixed water damage to ceiling in the downstairs bathroom caused by the upstairs bathroom; and installed two access panels in downstairs bathroom wall and ceiling for access to bathtub drain and plumbing for upstairs and downstairs bathroom. The overall experience and finished product were EXCEPTIONAL!! While doing a renovation of any sort is not inexpensive, it quickly became apparent that Scott Hall really does care about his clients as people (more than just a “remodel project”). Here is the story: The main bathroom in my house needed a full renovation because of structural damage caused by water seepage from the shower over the past 19 years. The toilet and bathtub/shower were slowly falling into the lower level of the house! I contacted a couple contractors about the issue and never received a call back.

Hall's Home Improvements is outstanding. The personal care provided by Scott and his staff was fantastic. This was a complicated rennovation in an older home. Everything was carefully explained to us along the way. I was particularly impressed by how well the staff cleaned up everyday; they really tried to be as "invisible" as possible. I would recommend Hall's Home Improvements with my highest possible recommendation.

We began our bathroom remodel with another company and quickly became aware they were in over their heads. Our bathroom was gutted down to the studs and the shower had been tiled incorrectly. We had to inform the company we were going to go with someone else, and began our search (again) for a new contractor. I contacted Scott and he showed up the same day to look at the work that was started and immediately alerted us to the bad workmanship and shoddy quality of the previous company's work. Scott listened to our vision for the space and offered suggestions to items we had not even considered. It was obvious from the first meeting that Scott had the expertise to do the job. Scott had a consultative approach that we appreciated. His attention to detail and constant communication was impressive. He really cared about the project. Scott's crew--Al and Kevin--were both very professional and talented craftsmen. They had a great work ethic and showed up on time every day. I can't say that about any company I have used in the past. Regarding price, Scott gave us a break on the total cost as we agreed to do the painting after the work was completed. The finished product was outstanding! The work exceeded out expectations. Bottom line-- If you are considering a bathroom remodel, you need to use Scott Hall. It would be foolish to use any other contractor.
Description of Work: Partial demolition, new electrical, new plumbing, outlets, stone tile floor, stone tile shower, drywall, construction of wall between shower and toilet, new ledge for lighting, installation of lighting, installation of wood covering for ceiling beams, new fan installation and insulation of area above shower ceiling.

We hired Scott Hall to completely renovate our Master Bathroom and replace everything in our second bathroom except the shower. From the beginning Scott stood out among other contractors because of his professionalism and responsiveness. When we first met with Scott it was also very clear he not only is very experienced but also very passionate about his work. In addition he is always researching ?best methods? and stays up to date with the newest materials available in his trade. Our Master bath remodel involved installing a pocket door, installing cabinetry, electrical work, increasing the size of our shower, changing the size of our whirlpool tub, moving most of the plumbing, installing a backsplash around the vanities, installing new exhaust fans in the main bathroom and the water closet, and most importantly extensive travertine and marble tile work. Scott?s attention to detail is amazing. One of the things we wanted to accomplish in our project was to install a frameless shower door system with as little amount of frame as possible. Scott was able to achieve the look we wanted by working with the glass contractor and leaving a channel in the tile for the glass to slide into. Scott?s planning and careful placement of each tile was amazing. He also uses a commercial product behind the tile called Wedi Board which makes the bathroom waterproof. This was a big concern of ours because our prior bathroom had 4x4 biscuit tiles on the wall that were falling off that had been installed on green board and we had a mold problem. The products that Scott used ensured we would never have the same problem again. Before he installed the large 16 x 16 travertine floor tiles, Scott poured a self leveling concrete floor to ensure our tile would be level and would last forever. Not only was Scott a master craftsman, he was also a pleasure to have in our home. He was reliable and always communicated with us about the next stage or next plan. He never missed a day of work unless we knew about it in advance. At the end of each day the work area was clean and neat. Additionally, Scott is very pet friendly and kid friendly. He was always willing to explain what he was doing to my son and took the time to say hi to our cats and ensure none of them escaped while he was working. He never seemed exasperated by my endless questions and concerns. Very few problems occurred during the project due to Scott?s skill level and great planning, but when they did they were handled appropriately, timely, and professionally. He seemed to approach any problems as an opportunity to find a solution. One of the other things that we really liked about Scott is he let us choose any product at any store of our choosing. He has vendor relationships and will share in the discounts, but customers are free to purchase products of their own choosing. Even though the total cost of our renovations (2 bathrooms) was close to $45,000, Scott?s labor costs were about half of that cost. Another 40% of the costs were for the products we purchased. The remainder was for subcontractors and materials that Scott purchased. After the completion Scott did need to return a few times because of defective products. We had some problems with the faucets we purchased. We worked with the company and they paid him to reinstall the replacements. We also had difficulty with our pocket door rubbing. Even though we had installed a commercial grade pocket door the track it was installed on was not centered. As humidity conditions changed in the house it was enough to make the door rub. Scott had to spend an entire day working on the problem. He did it in a timely manner and did a great job. Scott is also very "green" friendly. We were very concerned about our old bathroom going to a landfill. He kept in close contact with us as our start date approached so most of our bathroom could be reused. The majority went to a needy family and some of it went to Habitat Restore. He even took the time on the second bathroom when it was time to demo not to damage the items so they could all be donated and reused. Not only was he not offended by this but he was eager to help us ensure items could be donated and reused. We are looking forward to working with Scott on many more projects. I am very, very picky and Scott always met or exceeded my expectations

Scott is great, the best. From beginning to end he was prompt and responsive in returning calls, totally professional, skilled, and trustworthy. He listened carefully -- both to me, in hearing what I wanted and needed, and to the house itself. For instance, in thinking about the HVAC piece of the project, he noticed that the duct we had intended to use to draw heat from for the bathroom, was heating an area filled with windows. Scott realized that taking heat from this duct wouldn't leave enough for that part of the kitchen, so he created a whole new duct just for the bathroom, and also ran a smaller line right into the crawl space as well, to further help warm the floor and room. He also noticed that the baseboards in the bathroom were the wrong kind and looked funny (door casing), and on his own initiative -- and without raising the fee we had agreed on -- replaced them. Similarly, he replaced the old peeling kick board under the vanity for no extra labor charge. We did have to raise the original estimate slightly, to account for his having to add substantial reinforcements to the foundation wall (which it turned out had a large crack in it) before cutting the new crawl space access through that wall; but he created a solid frame under the entire wall that means this piece of the foundation -- even with the access hole -- is now much stronger than it had been before any work was done. He ended up having to rework the floor and threshold of the bathroom more than he had originally realized in order to make it both utterly level and in graceful alignment with the adjoining kitchen floor -- again, no increase in the labor fee. And best of all, when I was struggling to find the kind of better-grade linoleum I'd been thinking of, which was the best I could afford, he offered to tile the whole floor for free, if I bought the 12-inch tiles. Wow! You wouldn't believe how amazing this bathroom now looks, with these beautiful blue/brown/red tiles expertly laid in the space. Even with an additional $325 for labor added when I realized I preferred a diamond pattern, rather than the straight rows he had been offering to do for free, this was an amazing bonus. I came into the project just needing to get the underside of the bathroom and its problems with freezing and heat (and trap door) resolved... and in the process ended up with a gorgeous new, warm, tiled room. I can't recommend Scott highly enough; it was a pleasure to work with him, and he really goes the extra mile for his clients in terms of detail, responsiveness, and follow-through. He and his assistant, Kevin, worked around my schedule and needs, and cleaned up each day and at the end of the project beautifully.
Description of Work: My downstairs bathroom off the kitchen had been built -- badly -- over an old porch (outside the original foundation of the house), and the pipes froze nearly every winter. There was very little insulation in the crawl space to protect the pipes, and no access to the crawl space from the basement. The only access was through a trapdoor in the bathroom floor, which meant I couldn't replace the ugly carpet in there since any linoleum or other floor covering would block this access to the crawl space. The bathroom wasn't connected to the house HVAC system but had a wallboard heater. Scott created a large reinforced access hole from the basement to the bathroom crawl space, ran a new duct from the furnace into the crawl space and bathroom, insulated the crawl space, took out the baseboard heater and created an HVAC vent for the bathroom, replaced the old floor, replaced the old toilet with a low-flow one, and tiled the floor. He also replaced the upstairs toilet with the same low-flow unit.

He is a perfectionist in the detail he gives to each part of the job, His estimate is the most detailed I have ever seen - each part of the job is listed so I knew exactly what he was doing. I could email or call him and always get a response the same day. When something unexpected happened (bad subfloor in main bathroom), he emailed a picture to me, so I could understand the problem and the extra work required. He is so easy to communicate with, and I really appreciated his taking the time to talk with me about exactly what I wanted done. He and his helper Kevin do all the work themselves, and I had complete trust in them. I highly recommend Hall's Home Improvements.
Description of Work: Scott partially remodeled all 3 bathrooms. Some bathrooms required more work and remodeling than others. Jobs included: installing new tile floor, installing new sink, vanities, toilets, and a bathroom fan, and doing extensive work on the walls. Scott does everything - plumbing, walls, electric, tile.

The overall job rating is EXCELLENT! The job was planned six weeks ahead of time and had it starting Dec 7 and finishing Dec 11. The job started and finished exactly on schedule. The attention to detail was extraordinary. Daily updates were provided as well as what he expected to accomplish the next day. Both him and his co-worker were polite, very professional, highly accommodating, and well qualified/knowledgeable of the work to be done. Scott kept the work areas very clean and demonstrated a high degree of respect for my home. An unexpected plumbing problem was fixed at no additional cost. The caulking around the new tub and Onyx marble walls was flawless, a pet peeve of mine. You never really know what you're getting when you hire a contractor but I couldn't be more pleased. Anyone remodeling a bathroom would be well advised to consider hiring Hall's Home Improvements.
Description of Work: Scott remodeled my upstairs bathroom. He removed the old tile, rotted dry wall, and the old bathtub, replaced the insulation and installed new dry wall, installed and plumbed a new whirlpool tub, put in new Onyx tub surround walls, and new fixtures.

He did a great job except when he got the flu, and the job took a lot longer that what he wanted. We are happy with the results and will continue to use him in the future.
Description of Work: We hired him to remodel the bathroom.

The job went very well, actually better than expected. Scott came out and looked at our bathroom and listened to what we wanted. Next, he sat down and listened to our budget. There was no bartering over cost, he listened and worked with us to get a great bathroom in our price range. There were surprises behind the walls and Scott did a great job of working with us to both keep us in-line with our budget and alleviate our concerns with what was uncovered. Very good with pets, never felt uneasy about leaving our dogs alone with him. At the least I would recommend taking the time to have Scott give an estimate. It is an educational experience on its own.
Description of Work: Our entire downstairs bathroom was gutted and redone. Scott replaced our bathtub with a stand up shower and did an amazing job. Perhaps the best service Scott did (no extra cost) was the time he took to explain and show what he was doing. Very patient and meticulous.

Your project was a lot of fun. The best part about my business is when I get to work with conscientious home owners - it felt to me that it was like working with a trusted friend and the whole experience in working with you was great. Thanks and best of luck to you and Dana.

Our bathroom was tiled in 1950's peach tile, which we found mold behind upon demolition , and we were in bad need of a ceiling vent. So we met with Scott and he assessed what we wanted done. Scott provided us with the pros and cons of doing different things, i.e. to remove the bathtub or not, and helped us to stay in our budget. Scott prides himself in workmanship and doing things correctly. And he worked hard to get the job done in a certain time frame.
Description of Work: Scott retiled the area around the bathtub, and extended this around to the adjacent walls He added new shower fixtures and new lights. Additionally, he installed new floor tile and a ceiling fan.

Very good job. Top quality. Scott asks the right questions that reassure you he is completely focused on your job. We did a walk through days before he came to do the job and he took notes on what we wanted, how much we were looking to spend and how soon we needed it. He worked with us on our budget by suggesting things I could do ahead of time. If you are pondering work on your house I would suggest having Scott do a walk through and estimate. It is an educational experience on its own.
Description of Work: Scott put in a new ceiling and ceiling fan in our spare room. He spent the morning pulling the ceiling down and working on the wiring. In the afternoon he hoisted the drywall and put it in place. Very well done and very meticulous. Just as important, Scott told me in detail what he was doing and what he was going to do. I felt as though Scott did a good job offering an impromptu clinic on how to install a ceiling. Very educational.

Demolition was a quick process and took only a day. Scott was careful to cover the steps with plastic and did no damage to walls or floors (Upstairs bath). Any garbage generated during the process was always taken to the curb on garbage day by Scott so I didn't have to worry about it. I moved out of my bedroom for them to have complete access (and I was out of their way). They used my garage for tool storage, cutting area and fixture storage when necessary. They made sure that my side of the garage was clean and available to park my car every evening. The shower tiling was tackled first so that the custom door could be measured and ordered. The vanity and sink were done next. Scott worked with me to allow me to paint areas while plastic protected new things and when it was convenient for me. the commodes (added one in the other bath too) and door framing/trimming we the next to last things done. The shower door completed the bath area. Scott was in constant communication with me about every detail of the process. He was great at bringing up ideas and suggestions always deferring to what I preferred. When I changed my mind to add a bench seat in the shower, he didn't miss a beat and not only went right to constructing it but also redid my estimate to make sure I was aware of the added cost. Clean up was done to my satisfaction and I was thrilled with the entire process. I did not feel the stress I expected to feel when the renovation was happening. Scott put me at ease with the process by his skills at communicating with me.
Description of Work: Master Bathroom area: Old bathroom and vanity area was gutted. Shower- plumbing fixed, completely tiled, new shower jet system, new toilet, vanity and sink. A new glass shower door was custom designed to fit the space. Three new doors stained and installed with one door reframedover 4 inches. Drywall repairs and new light fixture. Ceiling vent/fan/light replaced
