RUSSELL BLANKENSHIP

Mr. Blankenship knows how to trim a tree, that's for sure. But he also knows how to soak you for an additional $100 here ("but I trimmed so much more than we originally discussed!"), $60 there ("I've had to come back so many times"), one time even asking for an extra $20 for gas just so he could get home. Left his unsightly trailer parked in front of my house for days, TWICE! Repeatedly showing up an hour before dark "to finish the job tonight!", then complaining he couldn't finish due to the dark, and asking for cash for food/gas. I swear twice he came - without calling to tell me he was coming - just so he could fiddle around until dark and then ask for cash - because I'm a sucker and wanted the job done! And, btw, he will offer to do other projects (like my chainlink fence) for which he does not have the skillset and leave you with sagging gates and an ugly final product. In three words: "Don't do it!"

Work started on March 8th. Had proof of insurance issue. Issue was resolved. . Blankenship Tree Service did a great job. This was quite a feat , as it rained all day on March 10th, the day they finished. We kept the wood, which was put on pile for us.

We were kind of amazed with how fast and well the trees came down. One of the birch trees was in the center of our deck (we had built around it). That one was huge and tricky to get out. All the work was done in a single, very hot day. The crew did a great job clearing away all the debris and the stumps were ground thoroughly.

This was a very posisive experience. We had contracted with someone else, but he injured himself and could not do it. We called Russell based on a recommendation from one of our neighbors. He quoted the job and completed it in less than a week. Although his price was a little higher than the first guy's, I cannot imagine getting a better value. Our job was a little tricky because our deck built around the largest Birch tree. The other two were close to the house and to one of our neighbor's mature trees, which we did not want to disturb. We should not have worried. This guy is a professional. We will definitely use him again.

I called him and he happened to be down the street from me on another job. He came over right away, we agreed on a price, and the job was done within an hour.
