I have used Rosati Windows ever since we have owned this house. We owned a condo and they put the windows in condo too. They are the best!

The whole process was great. They came out and gave us a quote without any pressure. They explained their product, the process, and then they told us to contact them if we were interested. We liked their presentation and contacted them and purchased their products. They call us and set up a time for the install. The crew came out on time. They were careful with everything and cleaned up afterwards. Also, they took the time to point out the new features and asked me if I had any questions or concerns. I didn't. Everything was great.

First the good: The sales person was on time, polite, had the products with him for me to peruse, and did a fine job looking at my windows and providing an estimate. The price was around $2000 below an estimate I got on a very comparable window. The windows themselves appear to be well made and good quality. The bad: Every other estimate I received included replacing the outside window sills and the wood trim inside my house. When I asked if the quote included replacing all the wood trim, the sales person told me "they have a process that allows me to keep my existing trim. What I discovered this means is that they do not remove the old window down to the studs in your home. They come in with a Sawzall and cut the existing window down to its frame, then install a window within the old window frame. There are multiple negatives to this: 1. My house is over 30 years old, and I was replacing the windows due to how drafty they are/rotting wood, keeping the old window frame would not help the insulation. The 1 window I didn't replace was replace by the previous owner with a Rosati, so I have first hand experience with this. 2. This shrinks the window opening so the area of glass letting in light is reduced. 3. The old frame is connected to the studs with old insulation and caulk and is likely no longer squared, they can't fix any of these problems. At the end of the day, the wood trim around all my windows costs at least $2000, so really the quote was not apples to apples with others received. I found the fact they don't explain this very deceptive. It feels like they're trying to put one over on you, giving you a slightly cheaper price (it was a $25k job, $2k is <10%), but doing an incomplete job, and taking advantage of the fact that most homeowners will not investigate how or why they're able to do this. The window itself won't fail, so their warranty is still intact, but the upgrade to your home you're expecting is not there. It also allows them to be much faster in their installation process than a full replacement, saving money for their labor also. I went with Broadview windows and had a great experience. I encourage everyone to shop around and investigate thoroughly before proceeding with spending their money on an investment like this.

Response from Rosati Windows
While I am sorry to hear that the customer decided to go with someone else, I believe it is very unfair to give us such a low grade and to call us “deceptive”. That is a word that we have tried extremely hard to take out of this buying process. I understand where the customer is coming from, but when she said that we weren’t giving her a quote of apples to apples, I think the issue is that she was not comparing apples to apples. She was receiving estimates for new construction windows, which indeed include all the trim because that’s the only way to make them work. Our window is a replacement window, which does not require the additional material, labor or cost…which does, indeed, make our window more affordable. It’s a personal preference for customers and in the end, we most certainly did not deceive nor would we ever attempt to put one over on our customers.

Outstanding experience. From the beginning, the people we dealt with were friendly, honest and professional. Brett our salesman, was very informative, was not pushy and answered all our questions ( he even gave us a tour of the factory). The crew that installed the windows, John, Wes and Wes Jr, were excellent craftsman. They were very efficient and hard workers. You got the sense they took pride in their work. They found some wood rot when installing the sliding glass door, they informed us of the problem, and corrected it. We are very pleased with the windows. They look outstanding. We have noted our house is more quiet. And we are sure our gas bill will go down (hard to gauge with the warm winter we are having so far). Since this is a large capital expense, I researched a large number of window companies and their windows. My conclusion was Rosati Windows have the best value and cost in town. I would highly recommend Rosati windows.

Much better than I expected, and I expected it would be fine. I was not expecting such meticulous work. The crew did a full tear-out and didn't nick a tile in the kitchen backsplash even though there is much tile right up against the window frame. They also did not damage the wallpaper (how was that possible?), and they worked in crannies with NO problem. The installation took 3 men nearly 3 days, and they left the house clean every day when they left. They went about the work so efficiently and quietly that I was barely aware they were there. These fellows are experts in every aspect, the tear-out, the installation, the carpentry involved. The windows, themselves, are beautiful perfection. I had worried that the windows might not work well with the rest of the woodwork. Worry was a waste of time. I considered many details and questioned my sales rep a lot. He was patient and gave me as much explanation as I was prepared to hear, and I felt as though I could text him anytime. It was as though he were my brother who was "there for me, looking out for me," not at all like checking with a sales representative about various things. I have to mention two things that also are not to be taken for granted. This company has factory staining. Window costs are posted in a book so there is no game playing with the price. Most companies will not give you an exact window-by-window price. They will give you a price for the entire job so you don't know exactly what you are paying for, and that pricing becomes flexible when you say you are choosing a different company. Rosati has individual window pricing in a catalogue. You do not usually find that kind of transparency in the window manufacturing industry. It is, in my opinion, a cutthroat industry, but not so with Rosati Windows. The pricing is not a secret; it is in print for all customers to read. Also in my opinion, the warranty is the best as well.
Description of Work: Constructed for and installed new windows in my home. The windows are expertly made and expertly installed. They are beautiful on the inside and beautiful on the outside. I had hoped they would look good, but I chose them for their structural integrity: their spacers are of 100% silicone beads with stainless steel. They are better than good-looking, they are beautiful. The installation could not have gone more easily. The crew was prompt, very efficient, and they left my house cleaner than when they arrived. Such attention to detail in the windows themselves and in their installation takes time and providing quality is very expensive. The company's people are career people who treat their own work and the client's property with great respect. I don't know how the company can produce this excellent product and keep their excellent people, career people, without charging a massive amount of money; yet, the prices are competitive. I feel I got great value.

Overall very pleased with window selection, manufacturing and installation services. Window measurement performed twice by 2 different individuals. Installers came right on time, worked together as a highly experienced team and installed all 13 windows in one visit. All windows fit without any issues and the installers cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. Rosati team delivered what they said they would do at every step of the process.

The products are fine (with the exception of the storm door, see below) and the installers and salesman were all professional, compenent, and friendly. The issue is with Susan, the Service Manager. Here is my history with Susan and service visits from Rosati: 1. Not long after the storm door was installed, one of the pins used to move the glass panels up and down broke, so I called Rosati to come out and fix it. It took several lengthy phone calls with Susan in order to get her to understand what the problem was and once she finally did, it was a painful process to get a service scheduled. Ultimately the problem did get fixed, but not after a painful ordeal. A few weeks later the pin on the other side of the door broke, and I did not feel it was worth it to go through the frustration of working with Susan again, so I just left it. It remains broken to this day. 2. When the entry door was installed, it didn't come with the right knob - we were told that Rosati could order knobs and deadbolts with locks that match our existing keys/locks for the other doors in the house. We have Schlage locks in the other doors and provided the salesman our key code, assuming this would be all we needed to do. Well, the day the door was installed the installers did not have the right knobs, with the correct key code. They installed another knob and I was told it was only temporary and they would come out with the correct knob with matching locks. I tried to call Susan to schedule this visit and yet again it was a very painful process with multiple phone calls involved. Finally someone came out and still did not have the correct knob. He left and we had to schedule another visit - with more phone calls with Susan. On the third visit he came out, still with the incorrect knob, and this was when I was told that they couldn't actually match the locks like I was told they could. The service tech, sensing our frustration, promptly removed the knob and deadbolt, and took it to the local hardware store to get the locks matched. 3. Fast forward to August 2015 - one of the windows that was added last year as part of the addition must have been hit by a rock or something, as it has about a pea sized hole in it (just the outer pane, not all the way through). I am grateful that Rosati has an excellent warranty program and will replace the pane for free, however, this means more phone calls with Susan. I called to tell her the problem, explain which window it was, etc. I called her from work since that is where I am during the time they were open to call. Susan was very unwilling to order the pane of glass without me at home to "look at it" while I was talking with her. Even though I was able to answer all of her questions, including the side of the casement window where the hole is, the exact window that it happened to (even matched it up to the original work order), she still made me call her back the next day when I was actually at home because she was too nervous to order the pane without that confirmation. The replacement pane came in and while it was in the warehouse waiting for my appointment, it was accidentally broken. This means they had to order a new pane, and then wait until it came in (2 weeks) before Susan would schedule my install. This set me back another month, so in all it took over two months to get a simple window pane replaced. A summary of my experience with Rosati Windows: - Windows are excellent quality and warranty is great - Doors not so much. I would not recommend buying doors of any kind from this company. - Susan, the Service Manager, is unhelpful, un-knowledgable about the Company's products and processes, incometent, and condescending. Every time I ask a question or try to get an explanation for something she tells me, she just responds back in a condescending voice as if she's reading from a script, and doesn't actually know what she is talking about.
Description of Work: We had Rosati install two windows in our mudroom to match the rest of the house which already had Rosati windows. They also installed an entry door and storm door in the same room - this was all in the Spring of 2013. In the summer of 2014 we had an addition put on the house, and purchased an additional 3 windows for the addition to match the rest of the house.

2 day installation and finishing. The install crew left after the first day and window blinds were scattered on the floor, on the sink, and hardware was left on tables and antique furniture without regard to scratching the furniture. 3 dark spots left on the carpeting that I found and were cleaned the next day. Blind hardware broken and blind cover not re-installed (found broken hardware on carpeting and blind cover in the garage after they left). Overall happy with the quality of windows and doors. Update: Mike Rosatti followed up with a personal phone call to discuss my experience. The Rosatti technician just left after their normal post install inspection. He found a couple of minor issues that will be fixed, and was very helpful and professional.

The salesperson was friendly and enthusiastic about Rosati's product. He was very knowledgeable and was easily able to answer my questions about the window and door replacement. I expressed concern about which size trim should be used for the French doors, because the frame that was on the existing door was very wide. He said that he believed the standard size would be fine, but suggested that I check with the measuring specialist when he came out to finalize the measurements. I did so, and the measuring person also said that the standard size frame would be fine. The doors/windows were completed earlier than promised and we scheduled a day/time for installation. The installers arrived on time, did a great job installing the windows and doors and cleaning up. However, the trim around the door was not wide enough and left a space around the door without wallpaper and that was partially open to the insulation. I was asked to sign off on the work and felt very pressured when I was reluctant to do so because the door trim was not correct (the installers told me to just call the salesperson and everything would be taken care of). I called the salesperson, who directed me to the quality assurance person. She said she would send someone out to look at the problem, which was upsetting to me because Rosati has a very limited number of appointments that are not during standard working hours. When I expressed my frustration about already taking time off work to meet with the salesperson, the measuring person and the installers and now, despite my having brought up this concern repeatedly, I would need to take more time off work, she quickly assured me that she would send someone who could fix the problem. Unfortunately, when the quality assurance worker came, he said the materials had not even been ordered and he was there to inspect the windows and the doors and to measure for the replacement trim. He was patient while I expressed my considerable frustration, but did tell me that the "standard" trim is fine for most doors. Throughout this whole thing, not one employee apologized to me for the mistake or for the hassle. He completed the inspection (during which he told me about how I should push down on the window frame instead of closing it by the handle when closing to protect the seal -- something that was never mentioned during the whole sales pitch) and said he would order the replacement trim and I would be called to schedule. Several weeks later, I was called to schedule. In order to get an appointment after working hours, I would have had to wait an additional several weeks. Although Rosati states that they provide service until 9 pm M-F, it was difficult to get any appointment for even as late as 5 pm. Apparently (according to the quality assurance worker who came to install the trim), a worker who was supposed to go home at 4:00 pm extended his day so that I could be offered a 4 pm appointment. While he was working on the trim, I was sitting in the next room and heard him exclaim at one point during the work. When it was over, he told me that "they" had some kind of fault in the door, but that I could just touch up the spot with the paint provided. It seemed obvious to me that he had accidentally scraped the paint of a small part of the door and I don't know why he didn't just admit it and apologize. Instead, he made an excuse, blamed someone else and suggested a way to fix it -- all without apologizing. Although I only replaced half of my windows in this order with the intention of doing the other half at a later date, I strongly doubt that I will use this company again. The products are fine, but I am not convinced that they are that much better than those offered by any other premium company. This was a very significant financial investment for me, and I did not feel like the company valued my business. I felt like the employees were less than fully honest with me and I did not find the installation and inspection hours to be friendly to a typical work schedule.

I am truly sorry about the the frustration our customer had to go through. No one should have assumed the trim would fit and this could have eliminated the issues. It sounds like the right hand was not talking to the left hand and, as good as we are, we surely didn't prove it to our customer. I am having my vice-president visit the job site and if the door is scratched we will replace it at no charge to our customer. Again, I am sorry. Mike Rosati

The installers showed up promptly (about 8:30am the first day) and boy were they experts. They had their own workshop in the back of a square truck so there was no need to set up in driveway or garage (this is not true of all Rosati installers, who are subcontractors not employees). They were efficient and skilled; no drywall repair was needed even with the tear-out of the old wood trim. The custom stain color works well with the other wood in the rooms. So far we haven't found any issues (there was one nail pop from the stress of the tear-out, but the house is 28 years old so it's to be expected). We expected the job to take two full days, but it took only a day and a half. At my request they puttied the nail holes and they also left a small jar of the custom stain color for us to use for future touch-up. There was a small mix-up on the invoice sheet the installers had, and we paid $180 more than we should have. I was unaware of this until a refund check from Rosati came in the mail less than a week later!

I initially ordered 6 windows. Prior to them being installed, I added 3 more windows. The salesman used the same form and when adding the additional windows. After the windows were installed I signed a form authorizing them to charge my Visa. Apparently it was the wrong amount. They charged a greater amount than I authorized without anyone informing me. I think a phone call would have been nice. The installation was not impressive. The worker caulking my windows made a mess. He had not been with the company for very long. No one even checked his work. Most of the windows didn't shut properly. I had a service call completed. Now they shut. The exterior trim had to be redone during my service call.

Great! The sales person came out to give an overview of the product and to select colors, etc. He took a 1/3 deposit at the time and also took preliminary measurements. We received a call about 2 weeks later to schedule a detailed measurement visit. They told us the windows would be ready in early August. In early July we received a call stating that the windows were done and that they could install them the next day. They arrived on time, brought drop cloths, etc. to cover the area and got to work. They removed the old windows and installed new ones over the course of 5 hours. They took another hour to do the trim work, even working through the rain. They did an excellent job and the windows look great. It's very nice to have window that are white on the inside and bronze on the outside. It lightens up the rooms. It is much quieter with the new windows and we're looking forward to many years with them in place.

They are the only company I've found that will let you replace one or two windows at a time. They also guarantee the windows. If they break for any reason, they will replace the glass for free. They also come out and personally check each window after it's installed to make sure it's correct. Their pricing is also excellent. The prices don't change much.

We had 7 windows replaced in our home. The two installers were very good at their job. They removed the old windows and trash.....had their own trash can and sweeper to clean up. Very efficient . They worked 7 straight hours to get the windows installed, trim placed and caulked. The operation of the windows was explained . They also removed curtains/blinds and replaced them while installing the new windows. Saved me a lot of work. I had to do very little clean up after them. They answered any question I had about the windows. The price was very comparable or less than other quotes (Anderson, Pella, etc.). Rosati also replaced the trim on our 3 Bay window to match the proper color. We had Windows by Anderson replace our 3 Bay window a few years back but their trim did not match our color of all the other windows. We were told that Anderson did not have it. Found out that they did have the color---- at least two other companies' saleperson said that Anderson had the color at that time. Enough about that! We are very pleased with the work and windows and plan to change a few more windows in a year or two. When we first ordered the windows, we were told about 4 months out, but windows made and installed in two months.

They were great! They were very respectful of our property. They have a great attitude, and their work is guaranteed. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Price was extremely reasonable.

Our sales person, Mark Boardman, was honest with time necessary to complete the manufacturing. He was also very professional and knowledgeable of their product and could answer any questions we asked. Mark told us who would call, when they would call and what to expect. Sam Upchurch called shortly after the final paperwork and measured each window to confirm the sizes listed on the contract. We were pleasantly surprised when the installation manager, John Vaccani, called to set up installation about a month ahead of the expected time. Shawn Brantley and Mike Whiting worked two days installing the 18 windows. They covered the carpet to help to keep it clean and vacuumed when the work was complete. They worked hard and long the first day and showed up promptly on day two to finish. They did not seem to mind and were happy to answer questions during their installation. We could tell a difference immediately after the windows were in. Susan Walsh, who is always very courteous and happy to assist with any questions or concerns, answered our calls in a professional manner. She scheduled the final step in Rosati's process. A quality inspector, Dustin Spokeman, arrived to check every single window inside and out. He went over the operation of each style of window and I was so glad he did as there were some important features we needed to know. Before we decided on Rosati, we met with another vendor. Although the sales person was very nice he did not have a the product we were looking for or all the correct product information .... and his price was way off the mark. We were looking for quality and would have paid a higher price if we felt we needed to. We also learned, through our own research, more about buying windows at local home stores. There is a lot more to a window than you might think. We would gladly recommend Rosati. The employees from start to finish were all about doing the job right and being professional in the process. A couple of words of advice if you have windows installed. I asked about the dirt from the installation and they did tell me to cover any antiques or valuables. However, it was a very windy two days and consequently more dirt. I recommend covering any and everything you can to avoid the dust/dirt. Also, it would be wise to leave a little in the budget as some of our window coverings did not fit well enough to reinstall. Therefore, we did need to purchase some new ones.
