He gave me some advice on how to treat the issue and did charge me a dime. I was impressed with this company. I was afraid that I was going to be taken advantage of but that was not the case and I would recommend him highly to others.
Description of Work: I had this company out to check my basement for a possible water problem.

Paul came two weeeks prior to the job and gave me an estimate after taking a look at my basement. He explained very nicely what he was going to do to make my basement totally waterproofed. On the day the work took place, his crew arrived very promptly in the morning and got the job done in two days. They removed the mold on my walls, then dug a perimeter trench in which they put the drainage pipe along with gravel. They also drilled some weepholes in the wall. This helps drain water from the walls into the floor drain. Then the sump pump was installed and Paul had a certified electrician connect it to the electrical panel. They even cleaned my gutters outside and cleaned up after themselves. Paul has even agreed to haul some of my unused wood from the basement. I am truly happy with the job Paul and his crew have done for me. Paul is honest and professional and his estimate was affordable compared to some other companies out there.
Description of Work: Paul and his crew installed a sump pump and hydro-flo network in my basement. They also changed the outside pipe that runs from my down-spout to the city drain.

The experience with Paul and his team couldn't have been better. We had put the job off for many years because we knew it was going to be complicated and expensive and were unsure that we could find someone with the expertise required. Our house had almost ever water problem imaginable. We called companies a few years ago and never felt comfortable with anyone. When we met with Paul, we immediately trusted him and could tell from his recommendations that he had the skill to handle our project. Paul and his team went above and beyond to do the job right. The level of committment and expertise was extremely impressive. Paul checked in with us every day to update us on progress and make sure that we were satisfied. We are extremely picky people and found the work impeccable. Not only did they stick exactly to their schedule, the left the house very clean every day. I'm not even sure how they did that given the amount of work that was required. Needless to say, I would highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: Inside the basement, a sump pump/perimeter drain and steel beams to support bowed walls were installed. Crumbling walls were also repaired and stucco applied. Outside, new drain lines were layed and a French drain was installed along the back of our house to catch water that was draining into the basement,

It went very well initially. I was amazed at the lack of cement dust raised by the drilling. The job was done quickly and looked great. However, we continued to have a wet area on one wall. They came out to fix it, then had to come again. Our basement is now dry.

First and foremost I give my highest recommendation to Rogers Waterproofing. The crew was extremely courteous, thorough and professional. I have never been so pleased with a contractor's performance in my life. Rogers worked with me, listened to my concerns and ideas and exceeded my expectations. We moved to Westerville, OH from NC in Oct '07. When we inspected the home in July '07 we did not have any idea what was in store for us as soon as the dry weather broke. Starting in around December '07 our sump pump would run as often as once every 45 seconds. This continued until mid-summer where it was quiet until about mid-December. To give perspective, my electric bill is $40 higher in Jan. - Mar. than July when we are running the A/C. After talking to countless contractors, city engineers, city maintenance, Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation etc., I did not buy the rationale most contractors gave me and none of them were the least bit interested in finding the root cause they just wanted to sell me their services. My wife and I were seriously considering cutting our losses and moving away, but given the current market decided against it for the fear of the absolute bloodbath we would take on selling the house in the current market. When I spoke to Mike Sterns from Rogers the first time and explained my situation he was truly interested in working with me to help determine root cause as well as improve my current basement drainage system. While making no promises that they could stop the water - in fact Mike even stated that the pump activity could increase because of the better drainage the water-proofing would provide. Mike did agree that my theory of the water source was valid and worth investigating. Rogers came in to perform the work this week. On the first day they removed about 8" of the basement floor around the perimeter of the basement and in addition gave me some additional space around the location where the sanitary sewer penetrates the foundation plane. All along I felt that it was the gravel trench around sanitary sewer which was allowing ground water to flow into my foundation, and in fact this was the case. Upon further excavation you could see the water flow in through the gravel surrounding the sanitary lateral at a rate of approximately 20 gallon/minute. We mixed in over a 1/4 ton of clay (ie Store brand cheapo kitty litter) with the gravel and I have greatly reduced my sump activity. My sump now runs around once every 20 - 30 minutes which is a huge win given the frequency it was running before. The crew basically finished the work yesterday - they need to come back in next week to finish the concrete over the sanitary but we wanted to give the clay some time to settle. In the spring we will be installing a trench dam on the sanitary line outside which should provide even better resistance and I can enjoy my dry basement for years to come. Thanks Rogers!
Description of Work: Basement waterproofing - Install new interior perimeter drains, move sump pits, provide fill/proper sloping in back yard and most importantly assist in determining root cause of water issue.

I had moistures in a couple spots in the basement. Roger came out and reviewed my house, yard, basement and listened to my concerns. He spent over an hour, and then told me that I did not need his expertise. He recommended some gutter work and gave me a referral. A job that I thought would cost a few thousand, cost me $125 to clean underground gutter lines and downspouts. He could easily have convinced me to complete a large, unnecessary project. Gutters done. Basement dry. Zero charge from Roger. Honest man. Certainly would give him another call if ever needed and definitely would recommend to others.

It was very good. I called them and they responded quickly. They made an appointment and came on time. They were very neat and clean. The workers showed up on time and they were careful of my house. They did the work and left everything cleaner than they found it. It took them the amount of time they said it would.
Description of Work: They came to my home and repaired a crack in the wall in the basement. Took out a section that was three and half feet long where the wall met the floor, exposed a channel, jackhammered out and made sure the drain was operating freely, put a barrier starting from the bottom and ran the barrier up the wall to the top of the basement and nailed a wire mesh to hold it in place and concreted over it.

The service was wonderful. They are like a well-oiled machine and did a great job. Their customer service is over the top! They had moved appliances and I didn't particularly like where they were moved. I called their office to see if they could come back to move them where I wanted them, and they did. I would recommend this company. This is a messy job and they were great at cleaning up; very tidy. The price also included other services.

The job was handled professionally from start to finish. Rogers estimator Paul was very straightforward and the job was performed just as he described. I am very picky about the appearance of my yard and the crew did an excellent job removing sod and replacing it once the job was finished. When they left you could hardly tell they had been here. The working crew was very polite and did an excellent job insuring the work site was kept clean before, during and after the work was completed. The job was started in the morning and completed in the same day as promised. Since the work was completed, it has yet to rain, but after watching the care in workmenship I have no doubt the job was done right! If your looking for an honest analysis of the problems you are having followed up by professional service I would highly recommend Rogers Basement Waterproofing.

Rogers was one of three companies I called for an estimate. The company was prompt, courteous and professional from the first call setting up the initial appointment all the way through completing the 3 day job. Paul, the sales contact/manager examined the situation indoors and out, as well as assessing the drainage patterns of all the adjoining properties. He explained the problem in detail, respecting my intelligence, and being very honest and realistic about the work to be done. He brought photographs of previous basement jobs in progress, so I could see what to expect from initial jackhammering through final waterproofing. Time was critical in my case, since I am selling the house. We initially scheduled the work for late August, but he was able to fit my job in a month earlier due to a cancellation. The crew showed up on time, were well-organized, friendly and kept working the whole time. They ate lunch in shifts, so that the job site was not left unattended. I was kept informed of the (few) necessary changes or contingencies that cropped up, and consulted about the solutions. The assistant foreman, Jason, was professional, articulate, and communicative. The work was accomplished exactly as promised, on time, and the crew did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards. Actually, they cleaned as they went along, and took care not to dirty or damage any part of the property.
Description of Work: Re-dug and re-laid perimeter drain/pipe for entire basement, replaced sump pump and sump pump outlet pipe, added 5 steel supporting beams, re-laid underground exterior pipe for 2 downspouts and added cleanouts, installed 2 glass block windows, applied sealing compound to the interior walls, and lifted and re-seated a plumbing fixture that was in the line of digging. The job is covered by a guarantee transferable to future owners of the home.

Having black mold on the basement walls, I called Rogers and another company to give me an estimate of repairing the problem. Paul, from Rogers, said he could be out four days later. The other company was two weeks, but I scheduled both. Paul first looked at the basement walls then inspected the outside of the house. His prognosis was that the drain pipes from our house gutters to the street were either broken or invaded by the roots of the trees on our property. We had a lengthy, informative conversation about gutters, gutter guards, and drain pipes. He seemed very professional and emphasized his company's professionalism and quality of work. I was so impressed (high ratings on Angie's list helped) that I scheduled an installation time and canceled the appointment with the other company. Paul and the crew arrived punctually on the appointed day and Paul introduced my to the supervisor for our job. After going over all of the details with me and the supervisor, Paul left. There were five downspouts and one drain from the garage floor that needed to be tied into new drain tiles. They hand dug the trenches setting the sod to the side for later replacement. They also located and carefully dug around the water lines for the irrigation system. After about four hours everything was done, and the sod replaced. Only three days later, and it's almost impossible to tell they were here. I plan on recommending them to anyone I talk to with similar problems.

They did all this work in less than two days. They started on time, worked continuously through the day, were neat, clean, polite, and careful of my gardens and house. It is now a month and several big downpours later and the basement is DRY! Why did I wait so long? I found them on Angie's list and now learn that many of my neighbors have used them, too. I would call them again in a minute.
Description of Work: After years of stepping over water trickling to the drain, I called Rogers to waterproof my old stone basement. They trenched around the inside walls and cut across the middle of the floor (cut through the concrete floor, dug a trench about a foot wide and a food deep in soppy clay) filled the trenches with river gravel and perforated pipe, and took it to my existing sump pump well. They finished the floor with new concrete. They did all this working through a basement window, lifting concrete chunks and wet clay bucket by bucket, and then adding gravel and concrete bucket by bucket. They checked my drains to the storm sewer and installed new connections for my downspouts. They replaced my sump pump and legalized brought it up to code (it now drains into the storm sewer system). They left me my old one as a back up. They found my the hoses to my clothes washer were failing and let me know so I could get new ones. They washed down my flakey stone walls and offered advice on how to care for them.

Overall, the work was good. Unfortunately, the salesman did not communicate all of my concerns with the crew Supervisor. As a result, I had to go over a number of things with him, while his crew was placing some protective plastic covering over the basement staircase. As I started to go up my basement stairs, after conferring with the foreman, he yelled at me "WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING", as if I didn't know how to negotiate my own steps. Also, I specifically told the salesman that I didn't want anybody smoking on the premises. He assured me that they wouldn't. However, I could smell cigarette smoke coming from the basement. Whether or not it was coming from the open basement window from the workers outside, or from the workers in the basement or both, I don't know, as I wasn't going to go downstairs to investigate. Also, it appeared that the workers took too many breaks doing the work. Secondly, I told the subcontractor who installed the glass block window in the basement not to leave a sign with his name, in front of the premises, as he wanted to. He decided to leave one anyway, which I promptly removed. After the job was finished, I noticed a crack on the cement floor, which was due to their drilling. I spoke to the salesman and asked him to send someone to fix the crack. He didn't seem amenable to responding. It wasn't until I called back a second time, and told him that I knew his landlord, that they finally sent someone out. Also, Rogers removed wood molding around the basement carpeting. They never came back to reinstall the molding. I had to hire a handyman to take care of that task.
