Do not buy with them. Look at MI or Fischer. My concrete ribbon and sidewalk are falling apart, less than a year after moving in. I had 4 concrete companies out to look at it and they all said there is no way it should look like that (I've sealed it twice). They said the pitting, holes, chipping, and spalling were not normal at all. Rockford will not stand behind it even though it was very clearly installed poorly. Very disappointed. Overall quality of the house is poor too. Thrown together quickly with subpar materials. It will cost me $4,000 to resurface the sidewalk and ribbon. I reached out to see if Rockford would at least split it. No response. Thanks, Rockford. I will make it my mission to spread the word of my experience and make sure no one I ever come across in my life builds with you.

Lousy, they just flat out refuse to help us.

Rockford came in 2006 and the service rep said he corrected all the problems with the roof. On a properly installed roof nails will not be exposed. As you can see I have nails exposed. The same leak that was there before has found its way back. I contacted Rockford to discuss the issue of the shotty work performed by them not once but twice. I was told it was not their responsibility This is awful customer service and awful stewardship. Who would put their name on this and call it quality? Only Rockford! Rockford homes should take ownership of the poor quality of work that was performed on my roof and my house. I have had many problems with Rockford Homes. My home is supposed to be an investment. I will not recommend this builder to anyone.

Rockford allowed us to make changes to the interior to meet our needs. The sales person was very accomodating and helpful throughout the process. I liked that he was not pushy and answered plenty of questions along the way. If you are looking to make significant changes to a floor plan, I would suggest you go with a custom builder. If you like the floor plan as is, Rockford is an excellent choice. They build a quality home at a lessor price than the competition. They were also willing to negotiate with us more than other track builders - which is why we decided to choose Rockford. So far, it has been a plesant experience. On the downside, their options are a bit limited.

It took about the right amount of time, but the house wasn't as clean of building debris off of the surfaces as we would have liked. They had to come back to clean up a lot of paint off the floors. Also wood floor we had installed is not the best quality - it keeps getting chunks kicked out of it. They blamed it on my dog, but I informed them that we had unfinished wood floors installed at our previous house, then they were stained and finished and we had no dog marks other than the natural scratches from everyday wear. The prefinished wood just isn't that great of quality. This is our first new build, so we didn't really know what to expect. Our one year repairs are coming up this month and our list for them included things like: drain spouts outside of house were all broken away from one another and the house; fireplace mantel is pulling away from the wall, not all electrical switches that we paid for were installed; water is coming into a living room window during hard rain, gouges in stucco; forgotten painting of a piece of outside trim; cracked door jamb in man door from garage. Not sure if these are typical for all new builds. The house is a nice style and very spacious and the neighborhood is great. Until we build again someday, we won't really know if these issues are typical or individual to Rockford.

Overall they built a decent product however there have been too many unwanted surprises and misrepresentations made by Rockford that have cost us time/money. We asked over and over for the upgrade options and area zoning restrictions and were told they didn't have those in writing. I told the corporate office we could not work with the sales rep we had & finally got the upgrade options from them. We never received the zoning restrictions but were verbally told they would allow a patio up to 18 ft fr the house, only to find out after closing we were given incorrect information & cannot build a patio over 6 or 7 ft. wide on our property. Rockford's main office response is too bad. Rockford also told us they wouldn't build two of the same houses next door however after our closing they had the lot next to us rezoned and built the same model next door. We did not catch some items such as counter, sink, tub & shower scratches & damaged surfaces that are now our problem.

While everyone who builds a home has their share of issues & problems, the Rockford experience is not something we'd repeat. While our house was "completed" in March 2005, it's taken almost 2 years to get construction issues resolved (explaining the delay in this report to Angie's List). "They don't build 'em like they used too" is definitely true of construction today. There's no need (or space) to go into the endless details, but the best advice to give someone considering using Rockford to build their house--WATCH CAREFULLY & visit your home every couple of days. The number of construction goofs was shocking! Had we not been there to catch them, we'd still be living with them today.Especially watch the quality of the drywall work! There were some design flaws in the house that you'd think Rockford would be aware of (such as a wall that impedes the opening of the refrigerator or a laundry room door that has no where to got but into the storage cabinets.) Check every detail yourself!!

KEVIN IS A GREAT WORKER. HE'S RESPONSIVE TO ISSUES, PROMPT, TREATS MY PETS AND HOME LIKE HIS OWN. ROYCE IS ALSO GREAT. HE RETURNS CALLS AND FOLLOWS UP ON EVERY ISSUE.

THE LOT WAS POORLY GRADED AND WATER GATHERS IN A POOL ABOUT 40 FEET ACROSS AND 125 FEET LONG. THEY DID NOT POUR THE BUMP-OUT ON THE DRIVEWAY PROPERLY. THE FOUNDATION IS LEAKING, AS IS THE ROOF. ALL THEIR ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN CURSORY AT BEST. THE CABINETS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A LAMINATE, BUT IT IS ACTUALLY A PHOTOGRAPHIC PAPER. WE HAVE HAD TO THREATEN THEM WITH AN ATTORNEY EVERY TIME TO TRY AND GET A SERVICE. THEY OFFERED $1000 BACK TO FIX THE BACKYARD, WHICH WOULDN'T EVEN COVER THE COST OF THE STONE FILLER.

THE TWO WAY VALVE WAS NOT INSTALLED WHICH RESULTED IN A SEWAGE BACKUP PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED THEM ABOUT IT, THEY WERE UNCOOPERATIVE AND RUDE. THEY WOULD NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. I ALSO ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD REFER TO THEIR RECORDS TO TELL ME WHAT PAINT COLOR WAS USED ON EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR SO THAT I COULD MATCH IT, BUT THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE THE INFORMATION.
