In short, I am very happy with Richardson Exteriors. I recommend the company to anyone mentioning work on his or her house. Please, do not let the price fool you. It seems high at first; but, when you compare what you get to what you get from the big box stores, the price is definitely a bargain. Prior to signing with Richardson Exteriors, I compared the quote to the big box stores. The big box stores sell 24-guage steel stores, insulation is an ?extra,? thinner glass, and the various installation pieces add up, not to mention the contractors for the big box stores seem to always find a reason why the item you paid for to be installed cannot be installed. Richardson Exteriors sells 20-guage steel doors (a thicker door), the insulation in the interior of the door is included in the price, the glass is thicker, and the installer will not back down from the install simply because a nail is out of place. Therefore, Richardson Exteriors gives you a superior door and installation experience at a lower price. My first review touched on the communication and responsiveness. I reiterate the sentiment from that post ? the communication and responsiveness was fantastic. The doors were a much more involved process than the columns. At the first meeting, I was given a book and shown how to use it to put together a plan. To make things easier, the manufacturer?s website allowed me to upload a picture of my entryway and try different styles and colors to get a better idea of what I was buying. Ron Richardson, the owner, was very patient and helpful as my wife and I fretted over styles and colors. When it came time to draft the contracts, there was no issue with going through three to four versions of the contracts to get things right. E-mail communication was best and there was no need to mail contracts back and forth as Richardson Exteriors accepted scanned/e-mailed versions. The install of all doors but the front, French doors went as planned. Kenny arrived when he said he would and installed the doors. Kenny was extremely professional and my wife had no concerns being home with him during the install. Kenny won me over when he took the extra time to replace pieces around the doors that were easily replaced when the door was out than just putting the new door in with a c?est la vie attitude and replacing some rotted wood that, although aesthetic, gave the finished product a professional look and saved me the time and hassle of doing it myself. Kenny truly did the job on my house that I believe he would have done had it been his own house. The front doors had issues, but the issues had nothing to do with Richardson Exteriors. The manufacturer had trouble getting the glass in from the factory, which delayed the whole process. Richardson Exteriors kept me informed via e-mail and telephone and took ownership of the delay. When the doors did arrive, Kenny installed them the next day. I never felt that I was being taken advantage of, kept in the dark, or that Richardson Exteriors would not ?make it right.? In the end, Richardson Exteriors did just that ? they made it right and I am extremely happy with the result.

The work took about a day and a half. Everything went well and several neighbors have commented on how good the trim looks. We appreciated the fact that everything was thoroughly cleaned up afterward. Since we had worked with Ron Richardson in the past, we didn't get any other estimates for this job but felt that the price seemed fair.

Very pleased with work. Finished quickly. Answered all questions and concerns. Only issue was small amount of debris left in the landscaping.

We got estimates from several companies who do this sort of replacement work as well as full siding, roofing, windows, etc. We were very happy that Richardson Exterior was willing to take on a small, but much needed, repair project for us. Ron Richardson came to look at the work, having arrived promptly as expected, listened to our concerns and gave us an estimate on the spot. He did not try to convince us of other trim that might need to be done in the future, or cosmetic improvements, he just listened to what we wanted to have done and gave us the cost . He was polite, friendly, confident in the ability of his work crews to correct our problem with no difficulty. Once we signed the agreement, he put us on the schedule, and within a few weeks the work was done in one day to our satisfaction. The carpenter who did the work was also very competent, polite, and friendly. He painted the boards before installing and was finished with the project in one afternoon. We were very pleased and will use Richardson Exteriors for further projects as the need arises.

We are very pleased with the service we received. The owner, Ron, was very prompt and accommodating in making the initial appointment to assess what needed to be done. He was there when he said he would be and was very knowledgeable about what was happening with the roof and gutters that was allowing water to do damage to the house. He knew what needed to be done to remedy the situation. He got an estimate to us right away which we thought was a very fair price. He had his scheduling person contact us and set up a time for the work to be done. The man who came out to do the work was also very prompt. He took the time to fully explain to my husband what he was going to do, which we appreciated. Rodney worked until the job was complete. Bottom line, we would call Richardson Exteriors to do work for us again and would definitely recommend them to others.

The representative I dealt with from Richardson Exteriors was very helpful, courteous and responsive to my questions. I received color samples and a quote quickly. We ran into a snag where their vender shipped the wrong size shutter for a couple of my windows. However, the issue was corrected in a timely manner and I am very happy with the end result. The shutters look fabulous! I would absolutely use Richardson Exteriors again and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

I contacted RE for an estimate to replace the wood trim on the corner of my house because wood bees and woodpeckers had caused some damage. RE suggested replacing the wood and covering it with aluminum coil to prevent further damage. Their estimate was very reasonable compared to others, and they completed the job within 2 weeks. There was a slight delay due to sickness and difficulty getting a part, but we are very pleased with the final product. They gave us an estimate to cover the rest of our wood trim, and we plan to follow through on that soon!

We did our homework! We researched and interviewed a total of 9 different siding companies. Not a very fun process...but our hardwork and determination to find the best, most loyal, and skilled company paid off. Ron Richardson, owner of the business, won our hearts the moment he came to visit our home in Upper Arlington for the very first time. His energy, knowledge, and passion for his job was evident through his demeanor, honest responses and suggestions, and detailed estimate/quote. Finally, we met a siding contractor that we could trust!! Our siding project began in December, 2014. The cold temperatures, snow, and wind never interfered with the team's stamina, performnace, or length on the job. "The Team" (Ron, Kirk, and Rod) always worked together to provide exceptional customer service to us and our home. If a problem or question occurred, Ron was quick and happy to work together to find a resolution and/or answer. Our feelings and thoughts were always valued and prioritized during our time with him and his company. If you are looking for a company to do siding work for your home...shop around no longer! Ron Richardson Exteriors is your guy! He hires the best and expects no less than perfection. Our home is a direct reflection of his commitment.

First, searching for a company that replaces columns seemed to be harder than I think it really should have been (I think this is more of an Angie's List problem than the various companies). Richardson Exteriors did a great job highlighting their service for column repair and replacement, which made it an easy choice. Second, the communication and responsiveness was fantastic. All communication was through the owner, Ron Richardson, and he had no problem communicating via phone, text, e-mail, and in person. There certainly was no "pressure" tactics and he was happy giving me the website for the column manufacturer and allowing me to do my own research. He was more concerned with ensuring that I was comfortable with the purchase and service than he was in making the sale. Finally, the work actually done. Since all work was outside, no one had to be home and the columns were replaced on the day I was told that they would be replaced. I have several plants around the work area and none were harmed. There were no scratches or other marks on the concrete or house (needless to say, the overhang that the columns support is still there). The only visible sign that anything was done, besides the new columns, is the weather marks from the old column footprints because the new column footprints are smaller than the old column footprints. In all, I am very happy with the work and recommend highly Richardson Exteriors to anyone looking for work to be done. Ron has an eye toward quality, doing the work the way I would do it if I had time to do it, and respects the customer through communication and providing the information requested and needed, not just what he wants to give.

Richardson Exteriors was knowledgable, honest, and patient (I ask a lot of questions). In the end I was told they could replace my bathroom window, but it didn't sound as though that was necessary. I was referred to another company to have my window repaired and saved more than $500 by doing so. What amazing customer service! I will definitely contact them for any future exterior repairs we may need.

I called expecting to have to replace my roof, however when Ron came out he inspected the roof and came inside also to see the leak. We went back outside and he pinned down the leak area and within a few days his guys came out and fixed it. This was a very pleasant surprise not having to replace the roof. Anything comes up in the future or when I do need a new roof Richardson Exteriors will get my business.

We met with Ron last week and had a new roof put on yesterday. The crew showed up on time and completed the work in one day. The clean up was so well done that the only way you knew they were there was because of the yard sign and the nice new roof. Ron came by at the end of the job to make sure that it was done correctly and we were satisfied with the results. We would definitely recommend Richardson Exteriors to any neighbor or friend with a roofing need.

This went very good. They were very fast and efficient. High quality work and very nice. They were very hassle free.

Richardson Exteriors did a great job. We received several bids, all of which were in the same ballpark. We went with Richardson because Ron Richardson gave a great impression. He gave us prompt and detailed bids, made several changes to the bids at our request, dropped off samples, samples and more samples. Once we decided to go with Richardson, it was getting too late in the season last fall to do the work. We were in no hurry so Ron pushed the job out until the spring of this year. One nice thing about Ron is that he did not require money up front so we we're tying up our money waiting for good weather. Once the weather broke, Rod, Richardson Exteriors started the job. Rod is pretty amazing. He works alone and does great work. The job site was cleaned up each day and except for a few weather delays our siding job was completed in a timely manner. The quality of Rod's work is excellent. We are planning now to have Richardson Exteriors do some additional trim work and the replacement of our front entry door. We would gladly recommend Richardson Exteriors to anyone considering using them.

Ron is a really nice guy and easy to work with. He came out very fast to meet with me and got an estimate back to me very quickly. Price was competitive with other estimates. Really happy with the work that was done. Everything looks great. Ken and another employee did a great job. Very professional and friendly. Would definitely recommend them.

I am very disappointed and outraged at the unprofessionalism and excuse-making of this contractor. I scheduled to meet him at my house for an estimate at 1pm. He was aware that I would be driving into town from 3 hours away to meet him. My gps showed me to be arriving about 15 minutes late, so I left a message stating this. I asked him to call me back and let me know if that was okay with him, otherwise I could have my brother-in-law meet him there until my arrival. I ended up making up some drive time, so I called back saying I never heard back from him, but disregard the previous message and that I would be there by 1pm after all. At 1:30pm I called to see if he needed help finding the place - no answer. At 2pm I called and left a message. At 3pm I left a message -- and so on. He never called and never showed up. I called the next day -- no answer. Two days later, he calls back saying he didn't call me because with a client -- that was paying him $36,000 -- he added. Then, he said the next day he didn't call because his children had soccer games all day. It was one excuse after another. As a business owner, you call someone and let them know if you will be late and why - especially if you will not be coming at all. And you treat all customers the same, regardless of how much you stand to make from the job. He tried to flip the fault to me and had a bad attitude in the end. I cannot in good faith recommend him.

The work was done well and workers were on-time. Just a little bit of an issue with clean-up (nails left on the driveway), but Ron took care of it immediately, so very responsive.

The service provided was exceptional. I would highly recommend Richardson Exteriors!

The response from Richardson Exteriors to come to our facility and assess our need was quick, as was their provision of a written quote. We worked out a time to begin and end the job, and they were able to hold to it (although weather caused a minor delay). The job was done professionally and it looks great! The crew did a good job of cleaning up after themselves.

We found Richardson Exteriors through Angie?s list and after reading the reviews we decided to have them come out for an estimate. We found Kirk Free, the sales representative to be very professional and friendly. We gave him our ideas and issues on some of the outside repairs we needed. We had water issues with rain water entering the porch area and damaging the ceiling. We chose to go with the James Hardie siding, new soffits and gutters. Kirk came back with an estimate that was much better than an estimate from another siding company. Considering the bad fall weather we had, the installers did a very good job in difficult conditions. We are very pleased with the job that was done. The house looks great and we would highly recommend them. Thanks Kirk and Ron!

This was completed in 2 visits. First visit the old human door was removed and the new door was installed - this took about 1/2 day. All refuse was removed and the work area was very neat. Second visit the old molding was replaced and the new plastic molding was installed - again about 1/2 day. They did a final visit to review all the work that was completed per the contract.

After having a bad experience years ago with a siding contractor, it was a pleasure working with Richardson. They listened to all our concerns and did everything we asked of them down to the small details. Workmanship was excellent. Clean up was fine with the exception of a few nails in the yard and flower beds.
