Let me say off the top, Ron and Kirk were nice guys. I don't think they're out to screw anyone. Overall, the biggest takeaway was poor communication and below-average oversite of the job. I constantly had to follow-up every step of the way. Initial meeting went well. Showed up for the time we scheduled for the estimate and provided a plan and estimate on site for the repairs. I was told I would be contacted on the day they received the downpayment. I was not. Waited 4 days before calling and then he told me I would be scheduled for 6 weeks out. Given the dry fall that we had, I had hoped they were ahead of schedule, but they were not. I called about 6 weeks from the date, and he told me two more weeks. A subcontractor finally showed up about 9-10 weeks after the initial call. They contacted me on a Friday to say they'd be starting work on Monday. No one came or called Monday. Came home from work Tuesday to find they had started. I would have preferred a more realistic estimate of a timeline, just because I was trying to schedule some vacation days from work so that I could be home while the work would be done. About 80 percent of the job for the cedar replacement got done on the first day. Felt hopeful that it would be completed the next day, but, the project was drug out for several more days, then weeks off and on. At the end of the first day, they stored the cedar inside of my garage. They asked if I'd be home in the morning to open the garage door. I said I would. I waited until 9:30 before finally calling Kirk. He had to call the subcontractor to find out where he was. Then called me back and asked me to leave the garage door open, that they would close it later. Because I had tools in the garage, I was leery. Waited until 10, still didn't show, but I left anyway. A "we're running late" phone call would have been nice. Unfortunately, due to a board being the wrong size, the project continued to drag out. No communication from them regarding the progress. One thing that disappointed me was that on the first day of work, I came home at about 4:00 and saw that they were about to replace a board that had some rot in it where birds had nested behind. Naturally all of the styrofoam insulation and fiberglass insulation was missing from behind that board where the birds had built the nest. I asked if that insulation would be replaced. They said no. I said, should it be? And they said, "well if we had some insulation." So I ran to Home Depot and picked some up. I found out there were other boards like this on other parts of the house. I wish they would have stopped and called when this was discovered. I felt like if they would have been "treating my house like their own" they would have at least called and advised me of the issue. Had I not been there to see it, they would have kept on. In the process, they damaged some of the stucco, more than anticipated. I called Ron about this and he initially told me that was not included. I indicated that I did not hire them just so I could have more damage done to the house. Kirk called me a few minutes later and said they would get it taken care of and they did. I was not happy with some of the angled cuts that were made with the cedar trim. It looked sloppy and the angles did not match the house. Ultimately, those were fixed with caulk. Not great craftsmanship, but a solution. Would not have been fixed had I not asked. All in all, the experience was just okay. I don't think they're out to rip anyone off, but they're also not necessarily going to give you top service. Perhaps for a contractor, that has become the standard. I was suspicious of the subcontractor that they hired. Left a lot of nails in the driveway, careless in craftsmanship as I mentioned above, and generally unreliable. I brought a few of these concerns up with Kirk. They offered a 5% discount if I left a review here. Honestly, I would not have left a review otherwise. They ultimately performed the work that was promised in the quote. Was it performed within a standard that I expected? No. The job took much longer to be called 'finished' and a lot of phone calls had to be placed on my end to ensure that the job would be completed to the level that I expected. Thought long and hard about leaving a negative review, only because they ultimately performed all of the work. But they were the highest quote I received, and I received average to below average service. And getting them to perform everything to the level that I expected was time consuming on my end. Went with them because of my impression on the initial contact. Nice guys, but probably have more jobs to juggle right now than they can handle. Mine was not a priority.

The rotten wood was replaced on three windows' trim and sills. He painted the new trim in advance with the appropriate paint (that I provided) before doing the work on the windows. The result was great. It was a seamless repair and I appreciated that he added a water guard at the top of the window's trim to prevent future water damage.

Timely, efficient, roof looks good. Much better price than the other quotes I got. Small damage to a gutter, they scheduled a repair immediately. No complaints.

These guys are great. They removed old rotten siding around the dormers and garage wall, pre-painted the new siding, and cleaned up all debris. They were prompt, courteous, and very polite. Would definitely recommend them.

They did a very good job. Ron had lots of patience as we tried to figure out what we wanted. They installed the doors in a timely fashion and worked around our schedule--in fact, they came out to install the doors earlier than scheduled and finished them in less time than scheduled. They spent the necessary time making sure the doors fit correctly. They were all very professional and helpful: when the installer came out to measure things he kindly fixed a broken handle on one of the doors that was being replaced. We are very happy with our doors--everything was as planned and they are solid and look good. We would definitely use this company again.

Richardson Exteriors was very professional from the beginning. Mr. Richardson came out to the house to provide a quote, and was very friendly and forthcoming. He left us with a reasonable quote, which we then had asked to be adjusted to include aluminum and vinyl materials. They responded with a second quote within a week. We were provided with a range of dates which the workers would be out to our house, and they came at the beginning range of those dates, after giving us a call a couple days beforehand. They completed most of their work within a day, cleaning up well after themselves. We had to wait a few days for the gutters to be replaced due to weather, but again when they were here they were professional and efficient. The work done to our house looks great and we couldn't be happier!

Looks beautiful. Very nice workmanship. Minor issues with scheduling, but that was all worked out to our satisfaction. We wanted to have this work done for years, but were unsure about how to hire a contractor. Called Mr. Richardson after seeing reviews on Angie's list and were very happy with him and the installer. Should have done this years ago, but now that I have found a trustworthy contractor, i can get the other work done that I have also put off!

After shopping at three big box stores, I decided to check with Angie's List and just get an estimate from a private company. Ron Richardson came out for the consult. I was very happily surprised to find out the cost for the two doors was actually a bit less than from the stores. At that point I was a little hesitant as it seemed too good to be true but Ron was so professional and honest I decided to go ahead. Both my husband and I are beyond pleased with the quality and workmanship of the doors. The installer had 27 years experience and it shows. We had no idea so much would be included like high grade molding on the inside and out. The doors have made such a difference in our home that we can't wait to be able to have another project for Richardson Remodeling!

Ron Richardson was punctual, professional and informative on the job details. The crew was friendly and always left the job site clean. I am very happy with the results and would definitely hire them again to do more work that needs to be done in future.

Overall the experience was good, not great. I have some concerns about communication. The work was done in a very prompt fashion (much earlier than expected) but I was not given notice about them arriving despite me asking to be contacted when they were planning to come to do the work. This created some conflict for me due to my unique schedule. When I spoke with the work crew about this issue they said they were just doing what they were told and would pass along the concern. I did not hear from Ron until I contacted him about it (and I gave him more than enough time to reach out). There were also some issues with cleanup but Ron was very responsive to this and even dropped the overall price for this inconvenience. It should also be stated that I am still waiting to hear back from him about a question that I had about the downspouts. Overall I am ok with the experience there were just issues with the communication as stated above.

Everything went smoothly. Ron Richardson, one of the owners came to my house and gave me information on the doors and the pricing. I thought the price was a bit too high until the doors were in and I saw what really good quality doors they were. Well made, And installed with care and precision by Ken.

From the first meeting with Ron Richardson I knew we were in good hands. He was pleasant, professional, friendly, and helpful. I originally called because we needed new patio doors and after talking with him we decided to have them do the roof as well. I can not say enough about how polite and professional all the workers have been. We needed some additional repairs once the roof job was started and the price was more than fair. My husband is pretty knowledgeable regarding this type of work and he was very pleased as well. Our roof looks great and the new siding looks so good we've decided to do some more work. Neighbors have already stopped by to tell us how great it looks. I highly recommend Richardson Exteriors.

There was a bit of a miscommunication between the home office and the on site team, so they covered over three garage windows instead of just two, as they were supposed to. I was a bit surprised that they didn't offer to fix it and re-open the desired window, but that offer was not forthcoming. As a result of covering the extra window, the team ran out of siding and could not finish the job until a week later. That being said, though, the visual quality of the work they did was excellent. The siding and gutters look great. The team worked quickly and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. I would use Richardson's again, but would try to make sure to clarify the job specs more carefully.

This project went great! We would absolutely recommend Ron Richardson and Richardson Exteriors to anyone. The work was done very professionally, and with great attention to detail and finished appearance. While the project took somewhat longer than originally anticipated (mostly due to rain delays), they did a good job of keeping us aware of schedule. Without exception, their workers showed up when promised. Each day all materials and tools were cleaned up and neatly stored, and all waste material was hauled away for disposal daily. We would especially commend the lead carpenter on this job - Rodney - for the terrific job he did throughout the project. As with many projects there were a couple of unforeseen issues, and they handled these in the best possible manner with a fair and reasonable (minor) addition to overall cost. They uncovered a hidden carpenter ant infestation in a small portion of our screen porch wall, and following treatment by a separate pest control service they repaired and replaced the damaged wood -- good as new! We also changed our minds on one of the paint colors mid-job, and they accommodated us without complaint and with no impact to schedule. We didn't like the look of one section of finished trim board - and without hesitation they removed and replaced this with a new piece of trim to our complete satisfaction. Richardson Exteriors did a great job for us, at what we believe was a very reasonable price for the work performed!

Ron and his team are great - very professional and knowledgeable . Some of our work was more complex and Ron made sure he lined up a fabulous trim carpenter who restored the look to match the original design. We appreciated the suggestions of materials that would give us a great look but with a longer life than wood. Ron came out a few times to make sure everyone was on the same page and to get a correct materials list so that once the work was started it went very quickly. We will use Richardson Exteriors again and will recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

Ron Richardson, who provided the estimate, was punctual, responsive, and easy to work with. He answered all questions and made a couple of helpful suggestions but didn't push for any changes we didn't want. The crew were quick, efficient, and polite.

The owner, Ron, came out promptly to give us an estimate. We felt like he was conservative, not wanting to replace boards that did not need to be replaced just to make extra money. The gentlemen doing the work were on time and worked very hard while here. They were friendly and even tried to be quiet when my child was napping. Ron stopped by both days the work was being done, keeping us updated throughout the job. After removing the trim around the chimney, they found additional wood behind it that was rotted that needed to be replaced. Ron showed me the areas when he stopped by and gave me several different options as to how it could be fixed. We are very happy with the result and would definitely use them again in the future.

Door looks great and the quality of the work was great. Took a little long for the door to get in, but it was worth the wait. Team that installed the door were efficient and thorough.

After a 4 week lead time, the day the installed was scheduled the appointment was cancelled due to the fact that the window was not ordered. So we were delayed another 2-3 weeks before getting our window installed. Ron was very sorry about this and gave us a discount for the inconvenience.

From the moment the work began my family, home and time were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. At almost every turn Richardson Exteriors went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable with the timetable, cost and approach. We were given a competitive quote and invited to ensure that it indeed was so. This low pressure, high value sales approach was really surprising and, frankly, quite refreshing. My wife and I are extremely happy with the installation process and we will invariably use Richardson Exterior again in the near future!!!

Two-man crew arrived as scheduled and began work without delay. All work was done quickly and professionally although one area of repair was not readily accessible and required significant effort to complete. Both workers were friendly, polite and willing to discuss job with homeowner. Finished work had highly acceptable appearance and was well applied.

We began this project by meeting with Ron Richardson several times so he knew what we wanted to do and he could explain and detail what our options and choices could be. He would arrive on time, was prepared with information for us and helpful as we refined the project. He did not rush us, but gave us time to digest the information and make our decision. Ron is personable and professional and knows the business. All of his crew were efficient and professional as they did their work and were personable and polite as well. It was obvious that they were experts in their craft. They cleaned up after each part of the job, so there was nothing for us to do in that way. We are extremely pleased with how this project turned out and appreciate the way all the new doors have beautified our home. We have already gotten several compliments from neighbors.

Did a great job, it was a tricky job - had to replace rotting wood around windows and corners of house. Replaced wood looks great and blends in with what was already there.
