We needed a new roof and siding, after getting several estimates we chose Richardson Exteriors. We definitely made the right choice. Ron Richardson, the owner, walked us the through the decision-making process (color choices, type of materials, etc); making suggestions and answering all our questions, without high pressured sales tactics. Once we made our choices, he worked with us to schedule a time that was convenient for us. All of the employees were polite, courteous, and as unintrusive as possible. They were also respectful of our home and us. They cleaned up after themselves every evening, down to making sure there wewn't any nails on the ground. The workmanship is superior the quality of the materials is excellent. When we had concerns, they were answered immediately and either corrected or explained, to us, why it was done that way. If we ever have need of any other exterior work, Richardson Exteriors will be our choice Highly Reccomend!

We had quotes from several window companies in the area. We met some great salesmen and some awful ones. Some claimed we shouldn't even bother replacing our windows unless we pick their product. Ugh. No thanks. Ron seemed genuine and offered a quality product at a good price. We picked the more budget friendly windows with an upgraded glass and spacer package to replace our leaky aluminum frame windows and we can definitely tell a difference. My son's room always felt slightly like the outside, but now it's the same temperature of the house. The installers were great as well. Didn't leave a bit of mess. They even called out that one of the windows we received didn't look right and sure enough, it wasn't. Other installers might have just installed it without even saying a word. We appreciated their honesty and willingness to fix the problem.

Ron came to give an estimate the day after I called and was able to fit me in that weekend as it was a small job overall. He called on Thursday to confirm his guy would be there on Saturday. He got there in the morning and was done in a little over an hour. Everything was smooth and I plan on using Richardson again in the future.

Ron Richardson came out and gave me material to look through. Gave me different addresses of homes that they have done to go and see. I'm glad I did because the color that I was going to go with was to light. Ron was very helpful in getting the right color that I was looking for. Ron had J-blocks put up that just finishes off my house. Plus some of the trim around my front door and around my sliding glass door he finished. It was a wonderful experience. I didn't have to do anything. They put new outside lights up, new mailbox and numbers. The men arrived on time and worked hard all day long. Took 4 days. They cleaned everything up so it looked like they were never there. I'm very proud how my home looks.

We hired Richardson Exteriors to replace the siding, sheathing, and insulation on our 1969 home that is approximately 2450 sq. ft. When planning, we decided to turn the screened-in porch into a three-season room. Because we were not on a timeline, most of the planning, including having an architect prepare drawings of the new room, was done in late Fall of 2015 and we were first on the list for work in Spring of 2016. The work began at end of March of 2016 and completed in mid-May of 2016. As with the replacement of our exterior doors and columns on the front of the house (see reviews in May/June of 2015), working with Richardson Exteriors was a great experience, the workmanship and craftsmanship are excellent, and the end product is superb. The members of the Richardson team are meticulous and your patience will be rewarded several times over. Great care is taken when measuring, cutting, and installing to ensure a precise fit and clean-up is done as the job progresses. Handling of the various work groups (e.g. tear-off, insulation install, electrical, construction, etc.) went well and one of the owners visited the site several times daily to ensure that the job progressed, questions were answered, and any issues were addressed (throughout the projects, there were very few, minor issues and they were addressed promptly). Finally, the teams were great to work with. Each member was personable and took time to answer questions and explain what was being done and, more importantly, why. Also, the teams allowed us to handle some pet projects of our own, even helping, during various stages of construction. We absolutely will use Richardson Exteriors in the future and recommend it to anyone seeking the work that they do.

I met with several companies to determine who would do this work. Ron Richardson of Richardson Exteriors was my pick - an easy one, I might add. Ron arranged an appointment time immediately upon receiving my call. Ron is personable, knowledgeable, and professional. He has decades of experience. He came fully prepared to answer my many questions. In that initial meeting, he showed me products to consider and provided reference addresses so that I could drive by finished houses. There was no pressure. While I was in the "deciding phase", he met me at Lansing so that I could see the various products I was considering. Again, he answered all of my questions even though I had not selected him at that point. He provided estimates immediately after our initial meeting. The promptness of setting up the appointments, returning e-mails & calls, and providing estimates impressed me. Once I chose Richardson Exteriors, the process moved rather quickly. We agreed to the scope of work so the work could begin. He and his partner Kirk checked in while the work was being done. They were always accessible by phone, e-mail, and text. Their crew is hardworking, reliable, experienced and tidy. I found the communication to be good. I knew when the crew was going to work at the house, when the dumpster was being dropped off & picked up, and when the gutter crew would arrive. The crew arrived early and worked throughout the day. Other than rain delays, the work went smoothly! I can't say enough good things about Rodney & his work crew!! Rodney has many years of siding experience. It shows! This was a wonderful experience. I have a beautiful "new/updated" house. I would use this company again!

It was a pleasure working with Ron and Kirk. They were very professional and detail oriented from our first meeting to the final steps of the installation. Although the installation was completed in one day, the finishing touches required a couple return trips for them which they took care of promptly and to our complete satisfaction. We are very happy that we searched Angies List and found Richardson Exteriors - we would definitely use them again.

The quality of the doors is very good. I am very happy with them. The installation went well. The work was completed in just a couple of hours, and the work space was left clean. I have worked with this provider before, so I didn't get any other estimates to compare the price to. But to me, the work is so good that the money is well spent.

Great! Ron was thorough, honest, and up front. Upon inspection he found damage/leak in roof from a tree "incident". We had no idea it was there. That repair did bring up the cost a bit, but it was necessary. He brought large samples to the house and gave us a number of days to look over them. Supplies were delivered and placed on the roof via crane and his guys were there the next day. His men were efficient and thorough. They even swept the property with a giant magnet to pick up any nails. We decided to add on gutter guards; he took care of that as well. Sounds silly, but I love the new roof!

They came out and did an estimate. He was friendly and seemed like he really wanted to help. I called later to schedule a time of service and they said they would call back later. 9 am on a random morning, I get a knock at the door and they were here, ready to install. I wish they had called to give me a heads up. Then they told me other people will come and do the gutters. yet again we didn't get a heads up when they were coming, they just showed up. need to make sure to let your customers know when you are coming so we don't get a random scare of sounds on the roof. Other that that it all went fine.

Ron (Richardson) was able to come out on Thursday (within a couple of days of initial contact) for the quote. The damage from the carpenter ants was somewhat hidden so we couldn't see how extensive it was. We had already contacted a pest control and they had sprayed for them and they said they thought they were gone, but it was hard to tell (they were gone - none were found when the wood was fixed). Ron thought Rodney could come out Tuesday or Wednesday to fix. If the issue went deeper, he would have to contact his father/son team that works on supporting structures and they could probably come out Thursday or Friday if need be as their main boss was on vacation. He left a nicely detailed quote with us then. We accepted on Friday after someone else came the following day (their quote was much higher and they weren't sure when they could get us in). Also, Ron came across very professionally. I sent him an email on Tuesday and he was quick to respond, but still didn't get a firm date. However, there was quite a bit of rain this week so it was not shocking that it was pushed back some. I do feel that the communication could have been a bit better though. He did come and get the paint on Tuesday to paint the boards so that they would be ready to install. Rodney came around 10 am on Friday to fix. Fortunately, the damage didn't go any deeper. He was here maybe 5 hours fixing it. He fixed 7 boards I think on the house- 4 horizontal and 2 vertical. There was also a side board on the front support beam on the front of the house. A previous handyman had tried to fix a couple of times, but couldn't (he said the cut was quite difficult), but Rodney didn't seem to have much of a problem. My only concern is that if Rodney wouldn't have been able to fix it; when the other guys would have been able to get to it. We were waiting on this in order to list our house for sale. Fortunately, that wasn't an issue though. Overall, very happy with Ron & Rodney and would highly recommend.

Ron and his team provide highly professional and timely services. Ron was able come out provide an accurate quote and get the job going just a few days after the weather was manageable. Ron Richardson is a pleasant, knowledgeable, courteous and professional owner. We met in November 2015 in reference to cedar siding that needed replaced. He walked the entire house with me answering all my questions as I pointed out issues that had to be resolved. We agreed the work would be completed as soon as the weather permitted and I was aware that it could be in the spring of 2016. In February Kirk called me, (he is the office manager), and advised they would start the work on Monday February 22, 2016. My wife and me met Rod that morning and he proceeded to work on the siding. Rod is one of the most conscientious and hard working, knowledgeable individuals I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He explained what he needed to do and answered all my questions. He was prompt each day and always concerned as to our satisfaction. As he was finishing up a few days later I asked him about the dormers as it looked like more of the cedar had cracked since November. Sure enough the dormers need some additional work and while Rod was up close he noted that the flashing was incorrectly installed and found holes in the roof on both dormers. (He installed new flashing). He advised this would have caused water problems inside our home very soon. I will also say that at the end of each workday Rod cleaned up before he left for the day. He completed the total job a couple of days later and we are so pleased with the results. From my perspective what has been replaced looks better that the day the house was built and the siding first installed. Note: As of yesterday I called Ron and advised I found another short piece of cedar siding that needed to be replaced. I suggested this was missed earlier due to the fact it was low to the ground and hard to see. I found it accidentally. I advised he could bill me separately because it was not part of the original job. He would have none of it. He advised he would have Kirk schedule a repair for later in this same week. Now that is service after the sale and a real concern for the satisfaction of his customers. I have no problem recommending Ron and his business to anyone needing work on cedar siding or any other of the services he offers. The sign in our yard says Doors, Windows, Siding, Roofing and Gutters. I will not go anywhere else if I need any of these services. Thank You to Ron, Kirk and Rod....a great team.

Working with Ron and his team has been extremely easy. The decision to go w/ Ron was based on what the other vendors had given us as estimates. We compared the rates, service, installation window, and brand of doors being estimated. We found that the door brand quality was superior to the other vendors and all of the estimates (for doors, parts, and installation) came in at about about the same costs. Based on reviews, Ron's team had the best installation and repair experiences on Angie's list. The ordering and installation window were exactly what Ron had said they would be. The doors were installed on a Saturday and all at the same time. It was the easiest work we have ever had done on the house and the doors are beautiful. Kenny the installation person was awesome. He worked on each door and answered all of our questions. We really enjoyed working with the team at Ron's. I would definitely ask Ron to spec out the replacement of the roof, windows, and siding when the time comes for our house to require that level of work.

The overall experience was negative due to numerous miscommunications and errors on their part. The on-site crew was nice, but the owner would tell me one thing one day then completely change his story a few days later. He was nice at the estimate and told me he could start the job in 3 weeks and be finished after 1 or 2 days of work. That was a gross underestimate! Laughable, really! The job took them over 2 months. Owner's excuse? "We have lots of customers who've been waiting longer than you!" 100% unacceptable. Every step of the process took twice as long. Despite providing them with an exact piece of shake for color matching, they ordered the wrong size! They cut it down on-site, so now I have shake on the house that is NOT painted on all sides (as was promised in the estimate). And they left a giant mess in my backyard over the holidays that we had to request they clean up twice. I'm still finding shards of cedar all over the yard. I had high hopes for this project and was disappointed throughout. I cannot recommend this company.

There was an issue with a mail slot for the door but he assured me he would personally handle it. I am trusting he will take care of it soon. I know the item had to be ordered. I would definitely use this company again - in fact this is the second project I have done with them. I would love to have them do another project too

Ron and his crew were very professional. They got us scheduled as soon as weather and workload permitted and came pretty close to the original time estimate. There were no big problems at all and any small questions and requests were handled immediately and professionally. One area that was included with the repairs to the house turned out to be a bigger job than anyone knew due to some hidden problems. I appreciated that Ron let me know and gave me the chance to decide upon waiting until the weather is warmer to deal with those problems. He adjusted the bill accordingly without being asked to do so. In my case, Richardson Exteriors did great work at a fair and competitive price. I will call them again when I need additional work done.

My gutter fell off the back of my house. The wood behind it had rotted. I called Ron to come out and quote wood and gutter replacement. He also wrote a quote to do the whole house due to a lot of rotted wood. I went for the immediate issue which was just the back. The quote for the whole house was $1800. Ron was very professional and was one of the nicest guys to deal with. He gave me a time frame of 1-2 weeks for the job to be done. This was with Christmas and New Years smack dab in the middle. Of course we got the rain of a lifetime during this 2 week wait. Ron was still able to get the job done quickly and cleaned up their mess. The only complaint is where the downspout is screwed into, is another piece of rotted wood. I would like to have had that piece replaced as well.

He was on time, courteous, and was willing to answer questions. After he was done, he explained what he did and why he did it. Work looked great. I am need of a roof in a few years and will definitely consider this company for that task.
