Horrible Contractor. The quality of workmanship was awful - ceiling and drywall work were very sloppy and unprofessional. I have to hire someone else to come in and correct the work. Bathroom door did not shut properly due to poor hinge installment. I wish I could post pictures of the shabby work. Stairwell is not aligned properly and the trim he damaged was never replaced. Never finished the basement ceiling in its entirety - didn't install an air vent as requested. Did not even paint the bedroom to my satisfaction, which is not picky to say the least. If it requires more than 2 coats - then do it! Not my fault it was priced for 2 coats only. Frequently did not show up to work and claimed they had. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone at anytime. I am a commercial property manager who has worked in the construction industry for over 12 years and know a good/decent contractor when I see one. Being new to the area and taking the word of a relative who used this company was a big mistake. I have never used a website like this to review anything, but once again after looking at the workmanship, or lack thereof, just had to say this. STAY AWAY!!!!

I signed a contract with R & S Remodeling to remodel my kitchen in July of 2014. I gave them a deposit and demolition began, but was very limited. A small amount of demolition every few days. The beam that was needed when a wall was removed took 3 weeks to be ordered? It was a standard LVL beam that is readily available from multiple sources in Columbus. Progress was incredibly slow. My new door that I purchased and brought home for them to hang was damaged. My garage became a storage shed for miscellaneous trash and supplies from not only my job, but others as well. Boards with nails and debris was stored directly on my motorcycle which WAS in pristine condition. My floors were refinished very poorly and needed to be redone 3 times. Two times of which my daughter and I stayed at a hotel and boarded my pets for 5 days. The second time I vacated my house there was no work done which would have required me leaving. This company singlehandedly sanded the life out of my floor. Polyurethane was applied improperly and bubbled and had debris and brush marks and roller marks. One day I came home to a workman trying to use a spray can of polyurethane to "patch" the finish. There are sand marks and grooves throughout my floor. As of this date, January 13, 2015 my floor is still unfinished - the entryway needs to be stained and the kitchen /dining room has not been polyurethaned. In one room the "new "polyurethane is peeling and flaking. My contractor had directly told me that he had an excellent floor refinisher, but the condition of my floors reflects an extreme lack of ability to refinish floors. I asked a professional to look at my floors and he suggested that the workman who did the refinishing lacked knowledge on product and correct application, and total lack of knowledge of the sanding process. I lived in 2 rooms of my house so that the floors could be done for well over 3 months with all of my furniture removed. The electric work in my kitchen is not finished-outlets have not been installed, holes in the drywall from moving things were not filled, the drywall finishing is 60% undone. Can light inserts are missing, my heating registers (vent covers) that were removed for floor work have not been replaced and are missing. All my wood trim has been removed for the floor work and strewn in various rooms of my house. It has not been replaced. My entry way floor is rough cement because the slate floor removed had not been retiled despite me having the tile here for over 3 months. After extreme frustration and duress from living in my house in this condition my contractor drew up a contract that detailed when he would finish my job. He failed to do any of the listed items to finish as agreed upon by his self designated finish date. I tried numerous times to come to an agreement on how to finish my house in a timely manner to no avail, despite the contractor having agreed to the new schedule in a legally binding contract. My job remains unfinished to this day despite that, and despite having paid in full. My opinion is that he has abandoned my job finally, leaving me with work that I will have already paid for unfinished and requiring me to pay someone else to do the work Ive paid him for. I received so many ambiguous excuses from him and then just nothing. I paid this contractor without delay and in full and he did not finish my job, and the things that are done have many parts that I will now have to pay someone else to repair and finish. For me this experience has been a nightmare.
