7/25/18 Thank you very much for your recent help this month in the installation of my new furnace, A/C and water heater. Your design experience and organizational skills really made a difference in how quickly I was able to feel cool air again! I cannot praise William C. Tinsky (President) enough. He came out to my home and reviewed the plan he thought would work best in my home. He was diligent, hard working and a true professional. I would recommend Protech Northland Heating and Cooling without question.

We've used them for over 20 years. That's the only company we use.

They showed up at 8:15am on Wednesday and finished up by 12pm on Thursday. All trash and old equipment were taken away.

They were friendly and on time. They had good pricing and always upfront with what needs done. Will call them again for sure!!

Emergency service on a Sunday so I knew it would be pricey. But went ahead and bought service contract to cover whole system spring and fall. Technician was knowledgeable and thorough.

They were reasonable. That's partly why I went with them. They were very explanatory and they've been very reliable.

The team arrived on time and completed the work within the day. Since it was winter they returned in April to perform the air conditioner start up. All went well with that visit as well.

They come out every six months for routine maintenance. They're very very good!

We were told on the phone that there would be no service charge for the technician's visit. Unfortunately, we were told that we would have to pay $60 for his time, although he was unable to trigger the problem and no additional maintenance was done. We were told the charge was required because it had been two days past the 30-day warranty on a service call. We're very disappointed as this is a company we've used for 30 years. It's especially disappointing that they stand by their work so poorly. We are stuck with an intermittent problem that we have no answer for, and that began to happen after their annual check. The furnace was working fine beforehand. Needless to say, we won't be calling Northland again, and we won't be recommending them to anyone.

After almost 20 years of using Northland, we will no longer be using their services. We contacted the company expressing our dissatisfaction with their services on 8-12-16 but received no response from the company. We asked that a technician take a look at our air conditioning unit to supply freon if needed. When the tech arrived, he announced that the unit could not be repaired, that the freon was low but it would be 'illegal' to supply freon to our unit since the level was so low. He stayed only 10 minutes and told us we needed a completely new A/C unit which would cost us between $5-8K. He told us someone from the company would contact us about an estimate for a new unit. We were charged $120 for no service. No one ever contacted us to give us a quote. We contacted another company a few days later. When that company arrived, they noted that there were no caps on the intake valves which could have contributed to the loss of freon. (Those caps were either removed at the time of the 8-21-16 service by Northland or at their previous service check two years earlier.) The technician from the second company spent over an hour at our house. He first inspected the equipment inside the house - something Northland did not do. The tech determined that there was no leak of freon. He did note we needed a new air filter which was contributing to the lack of cool air return in the house. He then tested the outside A/C unit and determined the freon level was low but not significantly so - in contrast to the Northland tech's determination. He also contradicted the statement by Northland that it was "illegal" to put added freon into the system. Putting added freon into the unit only took 5 minutes and was of minimal cost. At the same time, the tech was on the line with the sales rep in his company. Within an hour we had an estimate of installing an entirely new unit if we had chosen. Their price was less than half the cost of the Northland quote. So, the second company provided freon, recommended a new filter and replacing the missing caps which we did. Our A/C worked perfectly and we opted not to buy a new unit - even though our a/c is almost 40 years old. It was installed at this property by Northland, has been serviced by Northland since that time. But we will no longer use them after the incompetent technician they sent to our home on 8-12-16.. We wrote a letter of complaint to Northland and we've waited all these weeks for a response. We have not heard from them. Since the technician lied to us about it being 'illegal' to supply freon to the unit, the fact that he didn't inspect the a/c equipment inside the house, and that no one followed up with a quote, we asked for a refund of our $120. We felt we had not received any service for that money. It is incredibly disappointing to find that our 20 years of loyalty to Northland has meant nothing to the company. I hope anyone who calls them is very careful about their advice and also checks other companies for better service and better pricing.

They're usually really good. I had a hard time getting them to come out this time. They didn't do well on the calls ahead.

I went out of town on the 8th, my 29 year old unit was working. I returned on the 10th and it was 90 degrees in the house. Northland made a service call, and after taking it apart, and testing certain parts, it was clear that the compressor was done. I got several estimates, and settled on Northland, working directly with the owner. I'd had a minor issue with one of his workers, which he resolved. He came to my house on Sunday the 14th, and on Monday the 15th, advised me that they could install on the 16th. He sent an excellent team to install-Davey and Matt. They were on time-8:30 am, and they were very thorough, and quiet. Due to the age of the previous unit, with the exception of the dehumidifier, they replaced everything, including the thermostat. Despite having to stop a couple of time due to brief showers, they finished by 3:30. They explained the programmable thermostat-the previous one was digital but not programmable. I really liked the fact that they cleaned up after themselves outside, and where they installed new lines from the outside through the garage and into the basement to connect to the evaporator coil. No fuss, no muss, no dust. Last winter I had the furnace checked by another provider, who was not at all competitive on price for the a/c. I am going to use Northland for all of my HVAC needs going forward.

Sean did a thorough workup on our air conditioner. He discovered why it was so noisy, and explained how to fix the noise problem if it returns. He also added needed refrigerant. He was personable and professional.

They were referred to me by friends, and he gave me a fair price. They are clean, pleasant, and respectful. It is a family business, and I really appreciate that.

They were professional and they did not try upsell either.

On 2/25/2015, I noticed it was getting cold. When I saw a non-responsive thermostat, I immediately called Protech Northland. Tony was there within two hours of my call. He did a very thorough job of finding the error in the furnace and making sure that everything was clean from inside the furnace itself to the outside pipe. The furnace worked fine until Tony came the next day to replace a part. Once again, he was very thorough in making sure that all was in order.

It was fine. He found out that there was something wrong with the motor. They used my warranty to put in a new motor. They only charge a $50 service fee from the company that provided the motor. Their prices are reasonable. In the spring they check my air conditioner. They call when they are on the way if I request them to do that.

They are very helpful. They respond pretty good.

I had problems with my furnace and they came and checked it out. It got problems again and they checked it out again and decided that it needed to be replaced since it was about 23 years old. I had a couple of heaters but they loaned me some more. They just brought them in for me to use until they go the furnace in on the following day. They were responsive to my needs and I think they were fairly quick. They were very neat. They cleaned up well. They changed some denting in the basement that was not done well seriously. I made a couple of requests to change some of the things they were going to do. They were good and I didn't have any complaints. I think they did an excellent job.

Bill Tinsky came to our home to discuss the system and make measurements. He assured us the installation would be done promptly and professionally. Installers Larry, Terry, and Tyler arrived as scheduled. They laid drop cloths to protect the floor, and got right to work. All three were very friendly and took time to explain what they were doing. They cleaned everything up, and hauled my old units away. Bill is a man of his word, and Larry, Terry and Tyler did a great job!

I have a service contract with Protech Northland Heating and Cooling. They come out twice a year to check out my furnace for winter and my A/C for summer. So, when my approximately 18 yr old water heater quit working, I asked them to install a new one. They came out the next day and installed the replacement unit. They cleaned up the debris and hauled away the old unit when they were done. Very professional. They were done in 2 hrs.

They came out and actually put a camera down into my furnace to show me where there was a crack heat exchange, which in turn gave me information to give my insurance company and gave me a new furnace. It was a really good experience. They were able to take the pictures of the inside of the furnace to show me the damage was occurring in the furnace. They were very professional and also worked with the insurance company.

Requetsed a quote and the Rep provided several options. Signed the contract and the job was done in a timely and professional manner. A service call was done on 04/05/07 and was performed in a timely manner. I would recommend this company to replace or repair your furnace...
