the work was great. The workers were professional. I loved the finished look. They assured me if there were any spots to lets them know. The night after they finished I noticed a ding and a scratch on my new stainless steel refrigerator. I had kept the movers away from it so the only workers near it were the painters and their ladders in the kitchen. I felt bad for Nathan, but I knew the marks were new. I called Nathan and he came to look at it. I expected an argument but he was SO professional. He ordered a new freezer door and installed it. He also had the touch ups taken care of immediately. This is customer service. I would use them again without reservation and recommend them highly to everyone. Excellent.
Description of Work: I bought a house that had glossy white paint on the cathedral ceiling and beams and was painted a bright orange in the living room and family room. They painted the ceiling flat white and the walls in the living room, family room, and kitchen. They also did some repair on the ceiling near the fireplace.

Prim Painting was very punctual -- they said they would come in the afternoon, and when I got home at 1:00pm they were well on their way into the job. They pressure-washed the exterior of the house, the sunroom, sunroom roof, and deck. Because of the age of my aluminum siding, I knew it would not look brand-new -- but it is as sparkling clean as it possibly could be. I am very happy with Prim Painting and will call them again.

The contact and scheduling went very well, and everyone associated was very pleasant to work with. The job was done very professionally. It's been 2 years to the day since they performed the work, and our walls still look beautiful. They are the ultimate in professionalism, and we will use them again for our next painting project.

In mid-July, we got an email from Nathan saying that due to all the rain, they were way behind on scheduling. This was understandable because it did rain a lot. They then scheduled us for mid- August and said if they could get to us earlier, they would. Mid August came around and no word from Prim Painting so I sent Nathan an email. He said they were still behind and now it would be close to the end of August. This was annoying as he had not kept us informed and I feel that was not professional. He said he would send out a revised schedule shortly. About a week later, I got a schedule and we were now showing as being MID-SEPTEMBER! The entire summer is gone and no painting, power washing or anything. I am glad we didn't put any money down so I found another provider, Certa-Pro painting, who came in about 300 under Prim Painting's price and will be providing the services this week or early next week.
Description of Work: We met with Nathan, who was very professional during our meeting and we were pleased with the contract. This was in early June. Our contract was for outside to power wash the whole house, our back patio and front porch and paint the trim of the house, stain and seal the patio and wash the windows inside and out. We were told it would be mid July when they could provide the services and we were ok with that. We had also scheduled some yard work that we wanted completed prior to the house being painted so that would be fine.

We received estimates from (4) different painting companies. Prim was the lowest and had the highest (and most) reviews on Angie's List. Nathan was our point of contact (also the owner, I believe). He has excellent communication skills and was very prompt responding to all emails and phone calls that were made (always less than 24 hours). Scheduling was easy, 3 weeks lead time, and no deposit required. We were able to use our own paint and he made adjustments to the price accordingly. The crew of 3 men were courteous and professional. It took them a total of 6 hours to complete everything--prep, 2 coats, and clean up. The rooms look fantastic! Very pleased and will be using them for the rest of our home. There were some minor touch-ups that needed to be made and Nathan was very responsive. He scheduled at our convenience the same week and he came out himself (along with 1 other guy) to make the corrections. They were here and gone in less than an hour and the work was perfect. About a week later, I noticed the exterior trim boards looked like they needed another coat of paint--I think it was different lighting that revealed the imperfection (very sunny that day). I notified Nathan and he was out within the week to apply another coat to the exterior trim. Everything looks great and the process went smoothly. Great group of talented guys!

Great, the painters were thorough. I even had a bad color ...well it just didn't take on the same tones as in the stores....it actually looked like flesh color....undesired effect. The owner came out and took a look and he and the painters all agreed. I purchased new paint and they repainted downstairs family room, informal dining room, kitchen, down and upstairs foyer for a nominal cost. Also we had a textured paint in the downstairs bathroom and they sanded it all down smooth before painting. Heh it is actually smoother than all the original walls which is impressive as it was textured and the others weren't before they started painting. They also helped take out some old closet hardware as I was installing a new closet system after they repainted. They even did a great job with any mudding that needed done before. Like I said they are thorough and quality start to finish. We plan do to the three guest rooms down the road and will be contacting them again when that time comes. Worth every penny.

First of all, please understand this 13-year-old concrete was never pressure washed before, and was not sealed for several years. The house faces the north and the shaded areas were developing green stuff [mold?]. Prim Painting answered my initial telephone call within minutes! Someone came out to look at the job and then e-mailed an estimate. They came out on a Tuesday to power wash, and came back on Thursday to seal the concrete. An invoice was e-mailed to me. Not only did they do a great job, the company is easy to communicate with.

So this review is a little late but I think that's actually a good thing. I have now been able to enjoy my freshly painted home for several months now and still have not come across any mistakes, drips, etc. They did such a good job! They were all very professional and polite, I felt very comfortable having them in my home even when I was not there. It took only 2 days for the entire job and when they left at the end of each day you never knew they were here, cleaned up completely. My walls look great and I would definitely recommend Prim to others.

It was a completely painless process. The provider was prompt and responded quickly to my requests. Initially, I wanted my aluminum siding powerwashed, too. The provider was concerned that the paint might be too oxidized to be washed and sent an employee to my home just to check. As it turns out, the house couldn't be washed, but the provider gave me a rough quote for painting the siding and what was involved in painting siding. This is very helpful for planning purposes. The paint was included in the price and the results were wonderful. The only thing I had to do was pick out a color. The job was done quickly and there was no evidence that they had been there except for the fresh paint on the door and shutters.

Our home is all brick except for a portion of the front entrance, trim, and a cedar structure in back of the house that is under a shed roof. All the lower areas of the home were painted by the homeowner and not included in the estimate. A Prim Painting representative provided an estimate of approximately $700.00 for "two" coats of paint excluding the cost of the paint to complete the job. Additionally, it was estimated that 4 gallons of paint would be required...and we were required to provide the paint. The major portion of the house that was going to require painting is three stories high, and as a result, very tall ladders were needed to complete that portion of the job. The young men that were sent to complete the job were very polite and professional, however, their ladders barely reached the area to be painted, and only with some dangerous stretching on their part. The job took much longer for them to complete only because the young men didn't have the proper equipment to complete the job on a timely basis. It should be noted the same job was done previously by other professional painters for $500.00 in less than an afternoon while it took Prim Painting 2 plus days. Also, if memory serves me correctly, the other painters used approximately four gallons. We would have used this same group again, but the firm is no longer in business which doesn't seem to be unusual for this profession. The required time to complete the job wasn't a factor in our dissatisfaction, nor were the two painters who were sent to paint, it was based on the fact that we were required to purchase 4 gallons of paint when in fact they used slightly less than 2 gallons. This wasn't discovered until several weeks later. The question in my mind is did we in fact get two coats of paint, and if we did, how could Prim Painting over estimate by so much? I wouldn't blame the young men if they didn't apply the second coat because it was so dangerous. We cannot be sure what took place, but Angie keeps requesting a comment...and here it is!

The power washing went fine and we were pleased with the results. That was done before we left for vacation when I was still at the residence. The painting was done while we were on vacation and the painters were left with no one in the home. Based upon the reviews in Angie's list we expected the painters to be professionals and to treat our home with respect. The painting was to be done in one day and we received an email indicating that it was not complete and they would need to come back a second day. We arranged for our neighbors to let them in. At that time we were told that the room being painted (originally light blue) needed another coat. It does state in the contract in fine print that the estimate given might not be the final price but after viewing the room before painting we thought a professional painter would be able to tell whether one or two coats was needed. That is a minor irritation in comparison to what awaited us upon our return from vacation. I had cleaned the house from top to bottom so that we could return to a clean home. When we walked in I could tell that the floors were dirty. We had asked the painters to please not wear shoes in the house as we don't wear shoes in the house. I understand if they need them to be on ladders but there was no reason to wear them all over the house. Upstairs where the room had been painted I found the adjacent bathroom to be filthy. They had clearly washed their paint brushes out in the bathtib and not bothered to even attempt to clean up afterward. The mirror over one of the sinks looked like they had just thrown water on it and left it. After a ten hour drive home I had to vacume, mop and scrub toilets. Our neighbor who had been watching our cat then told us that the painters had turned our thermostat down to 62 and left it. When she walked in she said it was freezing. In addition they asked her if they could take a dip in our pool making her very uncomfortable. I also found paint flakes in the chair in our family room and paint smeared on our pool deck. Our entire family felt very uncomfortable about what had taken place in our home. We wrote an email to Nathan about the behavior and it was clear from his response he was either unconcerned or chose not to believe us. We have had people in to do work before in our home when we were away and have never had a problem. Incredibly disappointing overall. The room painted was well done but certinaly not worth the experience.

There were major problems with all three aspects of the job. The new wood was replaced but the nail holes were not filled nor were the corners where the wood met. I didn't expect to see such big spots and gaps all over the fresh wood. The porch is old (built in 1992) and rough. It had a bad paint job from previous owners. I did not expect it to be smooth at all. We discussed that they would not strip it but scrape and caulk where it needed it. There are large drips and big blobs of paint everywhere that were just painted over. I thought these large obvious spots would be scraped. They painted over a piece of mulch. There is a large clump of hair on the edge of the stairs that was TAPED and then painted half white and half gray. He obviously saw the hair because he taped it. Just a few weeks after the job, paint is coming off the outer rail that doesn't get touched often. (Also on the stairs, but that sees traffic) The wood around the entryway is in good condition unlike the porch. Again, lots of peeling paint just painted over. Some of the clumps I can just peel off with my finger, I'm not sure why they didn't scrape it. What really bothers me is that I contacted Nate halfway through the prime coat. I told him about the nail holes and other prep issues. The next workday, those same holes, untouched, had two coats of fresh paint on them. Nothing else had been addressed. It's like I never called. Later, they apologized for the unfilled corners and nail holes on the new wood. They came out and filled one day saying they would come back and finish sanding and painting when it dried. I left town for 2 weeks. Still not done. I asked him to come out and address the other issues. The other owner came over and basically said I was just being picky. He admitted painting over hair was wrong and acknowledged a spot that was completely missed. However, he insisted I was expecting too much. I understand trying to say that about the old porch, but the wood around the covered entry way was smooth except for bad paint. There was no need to paint over peeling paint and clumps. Even the new wood wasn't handled well. In the end he said he didn't want to fix it. He would charge me for the new wood and labor to install it. I think it was easier just to say I was someone who would never be happy than to fix it. He said he thinks it's a good job. Unfilled holes and gaps in new wood? Paint over hair, mulch and peeling paint? Areas completely missed? Paint chipping off 2 weeks after the job? One or two of these things are not that big of deal. All of them together on one small job? I'm really not being picky. Have not seen the bill yet. This was the highest of my 3 quotes. I went with them because they had good reviews. I regret hiring them.
Description of Work: Estimate was prompt and sent via email. I had them paint a front porch, and entryway. I also wanted some trim replaced and painted that was rotted. The workman was very friendly. He even offered to pop the cover I had just painted back on my porch light while he was on the ladder.

They did a great job. They definitely did nothing bad. I am trying to think if they did anything that was really above and beyond but the fact that they did the job and that the price was really good was good enough for me. It was way better than I expected because I had had people out before that just kind of do a half-ass job.

They came out immediately to give me an estimate. He was very professional. I like their promptness. It was well worth it. We’ll never have to do it again. He said he has a quote for me and he did. The quote was online. I called right away and they scheduled right away. The guy who did the work was knowledgeable. He was very clean and very quick. He is very pleasant to have around and very quiet. He is extremely thorough. He tried to use water as much as he could. We didn’t smell any odors of some type of removal. He pretty much knows what he’s doing and how to remove that paper. He did a wonderful job. They have wonderful work ethics. I’m proud of them and they did a good job.

They were very professional and pleasant to work with. The price was more than I paid others but I felt they were a more reputable company and was more comfortable with them at my home. I would have liked to seen the little details like the outside lights cleaned....they did the garage but not the front and one of the back but I guess technically that was not what they were to do. The house looked much better than it started. The company I used at our old home was so detailed every fly speck was cleaned off and the sidewalk power washed too. I wish I could find a company that was that detailed. Days gone by I guess. Overall they did a good job and I will probably have them back just because they were so professional unlike a guy in a truck with a power washer
