About us

We provide complete tree care (see services offered) and are a small company operating with approx. 6 to 8 employees depending on the season. Some of us are certified arborists and those that aren't, are experience professionals that we train, or are already trained to adhere to I.S.A. pruning, removal, safety and plant health care standards. We are located in Columbus Ohio and provide residential, municipal and commercial tree and shrub care.

Encouraged me to watch what they were doing. It went very well.
Description of Work: Removed dead limbs on one very large oak tree, removed limb on another oak tree close to TV antenns. Both of these trees are 25' tall. Removed dead crabapple trunk, tied down guide wires on arborvitae, this time it was done correctly, Removed neighbor's heavy maple tree branches over my pine trees. Remove dead arbor vitae branches. Cleaned everything up. Took their time and were very careful in performing their work. Asked before anything was done our to the ordinary.

We have a huge silver maple in our backyard that gets crazy. We have used Phoenix Tree Care before for the same tree. They came out and trimmed the tree. Now the tree looks great. We love their work.
Description of Work: We used Phoenix Tree Care, a month ago. They trimmed the silver maple in our backyard. They also trimmed other trees and also took out a tree, while they were here.

When I requested the estimate, I promptly received a call back letting me know it would take about 1 1/2 weeks for someone to come out. It took 2 weeks, Brad did call and come out at the agreed upon time. It then took 6 days for the estimate to be emailed to me. Didn't choose them because the price was much higher than other companies and their schedule is so busy they couldn't get to me for over a month.
Description of Work: Requested and received an estimate for removing one tree and trimming another tree. Turnaround time for estimates and scheduling work is VERY long.

They are a very good company and we rely on their advice. They are very professional and always clean up after themselves. They make sure we understand what s going on. Whenever we had problems, my husband would call them for advice. When it came time that we had to take it down he trusted their judgment. They are really prompt and courteous. They are very honest and accurate. They are upfront.
Description of Work: We got them from Angie s List. We had an elderly Bradford that was continuously loosing pieces. We finally, on their recommendation, just had the whole thing taken down.

The reason for the "F" on punctuality is they did not show up on the scheduled day. After that they showed up and spent roughly 30 minutes in total. I thought the price was higher than I had been told, but I was told they included drive time (should have been 20 minutes or less). I would check other companies but would not rule out this company entirely.

OUR MINIMUM PRUNING CHARGE IS $125. PLUS TAX. YOU WERE NOT QUOTED A LOWER PRICE. EQUIPMENT, LABOR, WORKER'S COMP. AND LIAB. INS. ARE EXPENSES THAT WARRANT A $125. MINIMUM. WORKERS COMP. AND LIABILITY INSURANCES ARE VERY EXPENSIVE FOR TREE CARE. I KNOW I DID NOT MISS AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOU. YOU WAITED 1.5 YEARS AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE TO FILE THIS REPORT. ARE YOU SURE YOUR MEMORY IS SERVING YOU WELL? AND AS FOR AS THE CHEMICAL FOR THE SUCKERS(SUCKER STOPPER), I STOPPED OUT MYSELF TO APPLY IT , AFTER THE CREW TOLD ME THEY HAD RAN OUT. Brad pulled some old shrubs I did not have the energy for. We were first referred to them after the ice storm a few years ago when part of our river birch went down. In both cases they came on time and did a super job with no problems or surprises.

We were gone when they came here; they cleaned up so well you wouldn't have even known they were here except for a little sawdust.
Description of Work: Due to high wind damage last weekend, we ended up with part of a Bradford Pear tree up on our roof. It was a large trunk branch and wasn't doing any more damage, so they were able to come out as soon as possible, 4 days later. They took it down, ground up and cleaned up the process. Had they had more time (since everyone had tree damage last weekend), they'd asked us whether we wanted the rest of the tree taken down at the same time, since, with a large part of the tree out, it was dying a very quick death. We opted to have them come out later, after the rush of cleaning up the storm damage, and take out the rest of the tree.

They were very good. I have used and called them before with all kinds of questions and they are always exceptionally great. They showed up on time and took care of the tree, giving me advice on future care as well.

They are very knowledgeable in all of the service that they provide, they just know what they are doing. They always come at 2 set times in a year, they ring the bell and talk to us if we are here. They ask if we have any questions for them and they always explain things. Also, they are very upfront.

They were very professional, they cleaned up very nicely. Their work was fine, they did scape paint, but they came back and fixed that, they did a very good with the trees, I would recommend them again.

The men were friendly and nice. They were on time. They knew more than enough to do a good job. Answered my questions and explained the procedures very well. I thought they were very good and I would recommend them. The lead arborist came out twice to review the work before anything was done.
Description of Work: They cut down 4 large shrubs, removed a limb from a tree that was hanging over the home, and another limb from another tree, and ground 1 stump.

Replied promptly to my request for an estimate and completed the work within one week of providing the estimate. Work was done as quoted and the cleanup of the yard after the work was done was complete.

Agreed to do a T and M job since I wanted it done relatively quick. I called multiple highly recommended companies from Angie's List and Brad was the only one that returned my call promptly. Others took several days to return my call and one didn't respond at all. He estimated the job to be $120-$200. We had a four day delay due to the employees apparently calling in sick. Overall, the job was completed satisfactorily but the price was higher than others that eventually ended up quoting after I had committed the work to Brad. Other quotes were $130-$140. I would hire this company again but the price would have to be right.

The responsiveness was slow but they pay attention to their current customers first. Once you have work done by them, you'll have higher priority. I like the idea of supporting a local company.
