This is listed on the companies website for Facts 2024: "Hardwood, Cypress, Pine and Cedar are the four basic types of decorative mulches sold today." However this is not what I received. Five yards of very low quality were brought to my house. I had five yards of what I thought was absolute brown mulch. When the five yards of mulch first arrived on Tuesday 8/13, I thought the dark brown color was not correct. As I started to scoop and lay the mulch, I stopped what I was doing since it had trash in it, literally. So, I called the closet Ohio Mulch who then connected me to the corporate office. I sent photos of the mulch and the few pieces of trash that I had taken out. I was informed that the VP of the company was currently looking at my photos. Needless to say, no one called me. I sent an email to the lady I spoke with on the phone and asked that she forward the information. Nothing. Since the mulch was sitting in my driveway, I had to lay it in my flower beds because no one contacted me. Le me just say, I have never seen such trashy mulch. It was riddled with trash: plastic, rubber, leaves, metal (two pretty good sizes), tape, broom handles not crushed, laminate, painted wood (probably furniture). Every few scoops, I'm still picking trash out of the mulch. It's crazy that they don't tell you on the website that they recycle wooden furniture and flooring because that is in the mulch. As noted above from their website, the purpose of mulch is decorative. That's funny. Ohio Mulch only cares about profits or they wouldn't sell garbage. I want to note that the lady I spoke with at Blacklick Ohio Mulch, the driver, and the lady at corporate did their jobs. It's the people above the aforementioned's pay grade who didn't respond.

Do NOT use Ohio Mulch. I had top soil delivered over a week ago. I had originally scheduled the delivery date for Friday, September 22 so I could be home when it was delivered. The delivery date had to be changed to Saturday because of inventory issues, which is totally fine, but I wasn't going to be home. I was ensured that was OK. I came home Saturday afternoon to find three of the trees along my driveway damaged and my gate bent and broken (it no longer closes). I emailed on Sunday morning with photos of the damage and received a quick response from the customer service team telling me a director would contact me. It took 5 days to get a call back after emailing and calling multiple times. Then, I was told someone would come to fix my gate. I specifically said I needed to be home when they were there. A Patrick followed up with me on Monday and arranged with me to come by Thursday morning while I was home. Today (Wednesday), I got a notification from my front door camera where I watched someone from Ohio Mulch take my gate from my property without me being home. No call, no email, no text. They just took my gate without me knowing and after I specifically gave them dates and times I would be home. I'm fuming.

This company is an absolute nightmare to work with. I ordered 70 bags of mulch online at the beginning of May for delivery on Monday, May 22nd. The mulch did not deliver with zero communication from the company. I called and emailed Monday and Tuesday without response. I received a call Wednesday inaccurately stating that my order was planned to be delivered Wednesday, but was being pushed to Friday. After noting the order was due to be delivered Monday, I was informed my order was "at the top of the pile" and would delivery by end of day. When the order didn't deliver by Thursday, I was told no shipments were going out that day and it would delivery Friday. Friday afternoon when I called, I was told the order was either on a truck to be delivered that day or lost as it was not in the store. No delivery Friday with no correspondence. Saturday- after waiting on hold, I was disconnected multiple times by the store without getting a hold of anyone. After calling corporate I was met with a frustrated representative that said this was happening all day to MANY customers and he would connect me directly with management- transferring me to the manager, Ron's full voicemail. Leaving me disconnected without anyone to talk with or confirm my order after the order had already been fully paid for. It wasn't until I physically drove to the store and speaking with a team member and waiting for them to look into my order with me waiting in person did we get the delivery. Still zero response for the horrible customer service or 5 day delay in the pre-paid delivery.

Went online on April 20th and was told the first available delivery date was May 25th(!?). Not happy but paid and scheduled. My mom called the following day and received her mulch on May 12th. Bad sign. But ok. On May 25th I get home from work. No mulch. I call and a very nice lady answered and told me to talk to the manager. That no one is getting their mulch. That corporate put a special on the website for next day delivery last week and now everything is pure chaos. I talk to the manager and he promises the mulch will be delivered Friday the 26 by noon. No mulch. I call and ask to talk to manager. He won't come to the phone. The same lady from yesterday answered and said only manager can make sure I get the delivery. After 10 minutes on hold a second lady vibes to the phone and says she knows that my order is from April and she is really sorry. She will make sure the order either comes that evening or Saturday. No mulch. I drive trip the store. Manager is there. Says he will solve the problem. I ask for his managers contact info. He gives me the phone number. I call and leave a message. No return call. I ask Caleb to please get back to me with some resolution. No return contact. Before closing I call again. Speak to a different gentleman who says maybe I should go to Lowe's or home Depot because it is very unlikely that Ohio mulch is capable of meeting their obligations and time soon. I feel badly for Ohio mulch employees. Corporate set then up to fail and a abandoned them. And screwed over all their prepaid customers and doesn't have enough integrity to admit it.

I specifically arranged to have a phone call prior to the delivery of the above products to my driveway turnaround and insisted that the order taker write it down on the invoice for the driver. Reason being, to move my camper van out of the way for the pallet to be placed where I clearly indicated with a prominent white chalk box a bit larger than a standard sized pallet. The driver ignored the indication on the work order and never called on or before the scheduled day & time of delivery. He placed the pallet right in front of the garage door completely blocking my ability to get the car out of the garage. I called 3 or 4 times, being increasingly insistent that a mistake was made and the pallet had to be removed promptly. Finally, after about 6 hours, they came out and moved the pallet to the designated spot. I was stuck without the ability to get my car out of the garage for 6 hours. I explained repeatedly during phone contacts that the pallet was blocking my access to the vehicle. Also, the loader put a gouge (about 8" long and 1/2" deep in my driveway with the initial pallet placement. No one seemed to want to accept any responsibility at the Ohio Mulch on Riverside Dr. & Hayden Run. The supervisor was "out loading trucks", "unavailable at this time", "on break" etc. This was clearly a huge mistake on the part of Ohio Mulch & to compound it by ignoring/delaying correcting their mistake is deplorable and terrible business practice.

I had a truckload of mulch delivered, and I wanted to express my thanks to Ohio Mulch for making it incredibly easy with their online form. No need to talk to a service rep (unless you want to), just plug in your details and submit the order. It arrived on schedule and right where I wanted it dumped. Could NOT have been easier. I have no experience with other companies but I see no reason not to use Ohio Mulch again. The standard delivery charge of $50 regardless of amount is a bit high for small orders, but for larger orders it's totally worth it, and I understand why they have to charge that. If I was to get only a couple of cubic yards I would borrow a pickup.

We were looking for a particular type of stone. The person behind the counter was rude and did not have a clue what they carried. We asked her if they carry this special type of rock, she said they did and the sample is over there. I looked to where she pointed and they did not carry what we were looking for. Not a good experience, have no plans on ever returning. I thought they were bad until we went to Mr. Mulch on St Rt. 161, they were even worse. I would like to write a review about them but I cannot locate Mr. Mulch on Angie's List. I think these companies get so big they do not care about their customers, one day they will when they are ready to go out of business.

DISASTER! They called me Wednesday to confirm the address. They said they would be there early Thursday - they dropped of the topsoil 5:30 PM on Friday...in a neighbor's driveway. My neighbor called me to say that "Your dirt is blocking my way from getting to the garage." I call Ohio Topsoil who told me that it was late and they would get somebody there on Saturday to move the soil. I told them that their plan was unacceptable, they told me nobody was available. I then got my wheelbarrow and proceeded to do it myself. My children called the company, got a senior manager on the phone... he said they would make it right and drop the charge - they did neither. A couple of young men and a dump truck came 8:30 AM on Saturday, swept the neighbor's driveway and dumped an additional yard of soil on my drive. Although it was advertised as topsoil, there was an overwhelming odor of cedar, lots of twigs and other shredded debris. NOT topsoil. Stay away from them.

Bad news all around. Took a day off from work since I was not able to get a delivery time from Ohio Mulch. I called several times in the late afternoon and only got a young woman whose telephone courtesy and customer focus was non-existant. She told me twice that she would call back in 10 minutes with information and never bothered to call. At 5:00 PM my neighbor (4 houses away) drove up to my home, gave me an invoice (it had my name and correct address) and said that there was a huge pile of mulch in her driveway. I was so embarassed (and angry at Ohio Mulch); I took a wheel barrow and shovel and tried to clear her drive - I moved about one cubic yard that evening (about 3/4 ton of material)- at my age, that was a lot of work. If the material on the drive was in fact topsoil, it sure had a very strong odor of cyprus and a little bit of clay with stringy vegatative material, not soil as I know it. My adult children saw what was doing and called Ohio Mulch (the 4th time that day) because by that time I was not fit to talk in a civil manner to anybody - they demanded a manager, explained ths situation and were told that a regional manager would call me. In about 10 minutes I receive a call and was told that a team would be there early in the morning to make it right (they were 15 minutes from their closing time). 8:15 AM the next day 2 workers with a dump truck and shovels removed the remaining material from my neighbor's drive then left and came back to my home with 2+ cubic yards or material - still did not smell or look like topsoil but I was told that they would drop the delivery charge from my bill. At that point, I thought that any further interaction was not worth the time, aggravation or energy. It will have to do for now, hopefully the garden will produce a good harvest. If not, next year I will find a better vendor.

I was called within a couple of days and asked to verify delivery instructions. The delivery was on time, and the two men doing the delivery were professional and helpful. First off, I didn't check Angie's List first because it didn't occur to me that an order of mulch, etc. could be problematic. Boy, was I wrong. The delivery was scheduled for Thursday, but when I arrived home on Wednesday, there was a pallet of mulch in my driveway and it wasn't even one of the products I ordered. I called to let them know and they sent someone to pick it up. On Thursday, I received a call from the manager telling me that they were out of the 3 cf bags of one of the types of mulch I ordered but would send the equivalent amount of 2 cf bags. I received my delivery on Thursday and the delivery guy was very nice. On Saturday, when I started to unload the pallets and checked my list, I realized that I had received 2 cf bags of both types of mulch, rather than the 3 cf bags I had ordered. While I had been notifiied that this would be the case with one kind it wasn't supposed to apply to both. When I called Ohio Mulch, they said that they would have have to research and call me back. Well, there was no return call on Saturday or Sunday. I called again on Monday and when I tried to relay the sequence of events to the person on the phone, he interrupted and asked, "So, what's your problem?" After I responded that I was trying to tell him, he handed the phone off to the manager and I started in with my story again. He interrupted to say that he had called on Thursday to tell me that they were substituting 2 cf bags for the 3 cf bags and I told him that yes, he had done that for one type of mulch, but I had received 2 cf bags of BOTH types of mulch and they had not provided an equivalent amount of the second type. He checked the delivery ticket and agreed. Later that day I received another pallet (total of 4 but the driver said that they would come and pick them up but I haven't called yet to see if that's going to happen). When I checked the pallet the next day I realized that it's not the product they had shorted me. At this point, unless they still haven't delivered the quantities I paid for (I'm still unloading), I'm going to make do with what they delivered. Needless to say, I won't be buying anything from them again.

While the prices of topsoil & compost were similar to those charged by other companies, we chose Ohio Mulch because of a much lower delivery fee. My wife placed our order online and requested a specific delivery date (a Friday). A few days later, we received a call asking if we wanted to move our delivery date from "Tuesday to Friday". Even though our confirmation e-mail stated a delivery on Friday, this information was not accurately recorded by the company. Friday came & went. No delivery. Upon calling the company, we were told that the truck had broken down and that all deliveries were being rescheduled for the next day. Well, Saturday came & went. Still no delivery, even after repeated calls to the company. Each time, we were assured that our order would arrive that day. We had to call AGAIN on Sunday, and the person we spoke to had to track down the receipt of our order. Our soil & compost finally arrived after noon that day. We took issue with the quality of the product as well. The website for Ohio Mulch shows clean, dark soil & compost, and the blurb advertises a "shredded & screened" product. The soil we received contained many lumps of clay (some as large as my 4 year old son's head), pebble sized rocks and trash. The compost especially was filled with garbage (plastic caps, bottles & bags, foam rubber, metal cans, cloth, electrical wire, shredded plastic debris, and even a palm sized wheel from a toy). My kids & I spent a significant amount of time "screening" the soil & compost ourselves as we moved it off of our driveway. This product was supposed to go into a garden bed. Clay, rocks & garbage are NOT what we wanted. A couple of final comments. First, the delivery charge advertised online was $35 when I checked. However, when my wife placed our order, the charge rose to $45. Still cheaper than other companies, but the price increase was tacky. Second, after sharing this disappointing experience with my co-workers, one of them stated that she & her husband had similar problems with Ohio Mulch. The mulch they received was also of questionable quality, and their delivery was 2 days late due to the "truck breaking down". It is hard to imagine that a company with so many locations cannot find an extra truck to keep deliveries moving... Long story short - Ohio Mulch sells LOUSY material, is NOT RELIABLE on delivery, and seems to have a DISORGANIZED administration. Moral - Choose another company!

My husband ordered the mulch and said it went well. The clerk told us delivery would be next day, sometime between 8 am - 7 pm. However, the mulch never arrived. We waited another day and then called to see what was going on. After much confusion (no one seem to be able to account for the order since neither the manager or other employee I spoke to had been in the office that day; also, according to the company's paperwork, the driver had signed that he had completed the delivery), the company agreed to deliver the mulch the next morning. I was upset that I received no apology for the mix-up and contacted the company to express my dissatisfaction about the late delivery. I spoke the manager Kevin a few days later, who apologized for the error and rectified the situation immediately with a credit to our account. Despite the error, overall, I am satisfied with the resolution of the problem.

We have no complaints about the product itself. However, we did not intend on the delivery to be made on wooden pallets. I have ordered mulch (in bags) numerous times from other companies and have never had to dispose of wooden pallets because they personally stacked the mulch as specified per the delivery order. I called Ohio Mulch the day after the delivery to inquire as to when they would pick up the pallets. I was told that they do not retrieve the pallets due to the high cost of gas. I was informed to call bulk pick-up. After being informed by bulk pick up that they will NOT collect wooden pallets, I was told to call a local landfill or garbage company to haul them away. I then proceeded to call Ohio Mulch back to ask if it were possible for them to retrieve them. The gentleman who answered my call also verified they are unable to haul away pallets that are left on delivery. I was informed that no REPUTABLE local company will deliver mulch without pallets. I used Ohio Mulch and paid for delivery, not pallets that I will now have to pay additional charges to have hauled away. When asked what other customers do with the pallets I was told, " they saw them up for firewood or bring them back to us". I would have never had the mulch delivered in the first place if I had the capability of hauling wooden pallets in my car! I then informed the gentleman that I thought this practice of leaving waste behind for the homeowner to deal with was unfair. I also told him that I would never use his company again because of this policy and would spread the word to friends and family. He then proceeded to say, "I hope you don't and go ahead and bad mouth us all you want". I have bought numerous products over the years from this company, but I will be ordering from other companies in the future.
Description of Work: We ordered 30 (2 cu. ft.) bags of mulch and an additional 30 bags of topsoil to be delivered to our home. The delivery charge was $69.00 ($10.00 online discount was deducted). The delivery was made promptly. The mulch and soil were left on two pallets. The delivery drivers were unable to leave the mulch in the specified location because it blocked access to the driveway (pallets were used). The mulch was then left on the patio on two pallets. The drivers refused to stack the mulch next to the house.

The website was easy to use, although it didn't seem to have a calculator for determining how much mulch I needed to order (I got that information from a different site). I was able to pick a delivery date (although a time window wasn't given) and received both an e-mail and phone confirmation. The mulch came when expected and was placed exactly where I wanted it in the backyard (dump truck was able to back in there). The quality was excellent.

I contacted them on May 6th and specifically requested mulch for delivery on Friday, May 23rd. The man, who took the order, said that it would be "no problem" with delivering on that date, so I went ahead and scheduled a vacation day for that date. On the morning of the 23rd, I called them and asked if they knew when the order would be delivered. They said the best they could do was have the driver call me when my order was loaded on the truck. So, I spent the day waiting for a call or a delivery. Finally at 6pm they called and asked if they could deliver my order at 8am the next day. I said that would be fine. 8am Saturday morning comes and goes with no mulch. I called them around 9am and the man who answered the phone, without even asking my name, said my order was on the truck. By 10am, I still had no mulch. When I called, I was told again that it was on the truck. It was not just that my order was late, but they're attitude on the phone was as if I was the one being unreasonable. So I told the woman to cancel the order and put a credit thru to my credit card. She said the order was on the truck and they had no way of getting ahold of the driver. I told her if he ever did show up, I'd let him know that the order had been cancelled. He did finally arrive at 12:15 and I told him the order was cancelled. Today, June 5th, I called my credit card company and Ohio Mulch has not put a credit thru to my card, so I've had to file a formal dispute of the charge. Bottomline to me is that they should not accept orders for delivery on specific dates if they can't really guarantee delivery on that date.

First, the four bags of bark chips were Red Pine mulch instead. I called the location I ordered from and they gave me the number of the location which delivered it. They refused to pick up the wrong product and told me I would need to bring it back myself to get my bark chips even though it was their error. Then, once I started to use the garden mulch, I did not like the quality. They agreed to switch out for a different product, and I understood I would have to wait another week before it could be delivered. They charged my credit card a week before they delivered it, even though they had already charged me for the mulch in my possession. I am disappointed in the Customer Service I did not receive regarding the wrong product, and not happy that they held an extra $200 of my money long before they brought me the product.
Description of Work: I ordered 50 bags of mulch and 4 large bags of bark chips for my walkway. I paid $40 extra to have it delivered. I have two issues. First with the bark chips, then with the mulch.

I used about 1/2 of the delivered mulch before reaching the middle of pile where I discovered the active termites. I called Ohio mulch and complained. Ohio Mulch denied my claim of termites, saying it was nearly impossible. I had the mulch pile inspected and faxed them the inspection report verifying termites. I also had the areas where I used mulch treated. I asked that mulch be removed and my money refunded. After a couple weeks of discussion they offered to remove the mulch, reimburse $30 of my cost and pay for the termite inspection. I did not get the sense that Ohio mulch was at all concerned at the idea of termites in their mulch, instead they seemed to prefer to haggle over a relatively small amount of money and, at first, removing the mulch. After all my effort and distress (worrying about introducing termites to my property); I was offended by the company s offer. I declined the offer on principle.
Description of Work: Ohio Mulch delivered bulk mulch to my home and placed it on a concrete parking area behind my house. The mulch has active TERMITES as confirmed by a termite inspection.

I shop on the internet frequently, but had a problem during checkout with ordering on their website. I ended up calling the store and placing the order. I think we may have been shorted a couple bags in the delivery, but it is hard to say for sure. We counted several times and never came up with 80. Before going into the store today, I checked the website to see if the mulch I needed was still on sale. It still is, however, the girl working today would not give me the sale price. She said that the price is already in the computer and she can't change it. I have a hard time believing that, but didn't put up a fight since I didn't need much. She said she would tell corporate to change the price on the website. I don't think this is a good way to do business. I would only order from them in the future if their price is a lot less than anyone else's.
Description of Work: Delivered 80 bags of mulch to my house. I needed more, so today I went into the store and purchased more.

I ordered 5 CY of mulch to be delivered the next day. I placed the order on Monday and they delivered on Tuesday (they make their bulk deliveries on tuesdays). I was very satisfied with their service. They delivered the mulch when they promised. Only reason I gave them a B for Quality was because when they delivered the mulch in my driveway, a portion was placed in the grass area.
Description of Work: 5 CY of mulch was delivered to my house and placed in my driveway.
