It took him 7 weeks to get it done and he was not considerate with what he was doing. He was professional but not communicative at all and it took 2 emails and 3 phone calls to get hold of him.

It went extremely well. I especially liked the crew. The forum was outstanding. He made sure everything was done the way we wanted. He accommodated some changes we wanted without making it feel like it was a hassle.

Before starting the work, we had to remove a 45 foot Bradford Pear and four Austrian pine trees (work completed by another company). Once that work was completed, we had Sara Mesarchik (the Oakland designer) layout a plan that would provide color, variety and interest throughout the year. Sara was great, her suggestions worked extremely well with our needs and she explained all the details of the work from the very beginning. She was very professional, knowledgeable and obviously loved her job. A Japanese Maple That had been planted in the fall had to be replaced in the spring. Sara made those arrangements and we were perfectly satisfied with the replacement. Throughout the process, the planting crew - headed by Brian McGough and assisted by Chris did everything they could to make my wife and I happy. Congratulations on a job well done.

They are professional. They showed up on time. They were very fast when they come out to drop of the mulch for the front and back yard of my home. This is a reputable company.

Very pleased. I called 5 companies with high ratings on Angie's List and only 2 returned my call and gave me an estimate. Michael Warner, the landscape architect, came out to my house the day I called. He gave me a written estimate. The estimate was slightly less than the estimate I received from the other company. Work took place only a week after I gave my approval to schedule the job. My yard had been neglected last year and Oakland's employees spent almost two full days working to get it back in shape. I really appreciate that the same person who did the estimate (Michael), came out to the job with the workers and went over the project the first morning before they started work. The company will be doing some lawn repairs for me in a few weeks.

There were two men and they were very polite and answered all my questions. Went right to work and worked continuously. Did some extra light trimming with no extra charge.

I didn't end up needing all of the plants and they were very courteous when I needed to return some. They were very knowledgeable and helped me when I was planning the project.

Fine, don't know what I was thinking but planting a tree took them about 3 minutes and cost $75. I thought, for some reason, I needed them to plant it so it would be done "right". Simply an over priced job.

They were pleasant and understanding when I returned the shrub, which didn't take. There was no hesitance at all in giving me a credit for the original cost.

I like the person I worked with a lot (Sarah Sarcheck) she was my designer. She was very responsive and communicated well. The project did have a few problems with the grading and sodding. The original sod was scorched and died quickly. Also the subcontractor's dump truck broke some of my underground PVC. Working with Sarah made the whole thing a lot easier. They came out to fix it quickly. All in all they did a good job and fix all issues without a single complaint. I wish they had the knowledge to avoid the situations, but they handled them well. They also have good quality planting material and Sarah's design work is top-notch.

Perfect! Oakland Nursery called to confirm our planting appointment. They arrived on time, reviewed the hedge placement with us and went right to work. In just 90 minutes, they had the 60 plants in the ground, had spread mulch around them and had cleaned up everything. The planting crew also advised us about the care the hedge would require for the first few weeks until the weather turned cooler. They accomplished in 90 minutes what would have taken me over 8 hours! The planting team was very efficient and are expert's in their job. They were all very professional and courteous.

Mike Warner, has done work for me for about 25 years or more. He always does such an excellent job & I will continue to use him in the future.

They did a decent job of installing the material. However, one of three Viburnums died very soon after installation. They replaced it with one that looked a little weak. Within a month or so, that one died, too. They stated their policy is one replacement. It truly wasn't the care of the plant because the other two are doing fine. I thought it was terrible that they wouldn't replace the plant that obviously wasn't healthy to begin with. Amy was NOT helpful. In fact, she was rude and short with me. I have thousands more dollars to spend on landscaping. Given their failure to honor their guarantee, I will not use them for installation and I will not use them as a source for plants I install myself.

I couldn't ever get him to call me back- he said he'd have the design & estimate in a week. Three weeks have gone by & he still hasn't called me back. I finally called back & just told them to forget it. I would hire them again, but I don't want to use the same salesman.

I was very satisfied with Pete's work. I requested Pete because he drew up landscaping plans for our previous home and I was very pleased with them. When Pete visited our current home, he took ample time to talk with me about the overall look I wanted. He was careful to ask me which plants in the existing landscaping I wanted to save. Pete is quite knowledgeable about many plants and provided alot of information as to which existing plants could be relocated. I also gave him a list of plants to incorporate in the plan, and guidelines as to the type of plants I did not want. Pete took the time to carefully measure the many protruding and recessed portions of the facade before working on the plan. He produced a well-thought out, artful and detailed landscape plan that incorporated all of the elements I requested. Throughout the process, Pete respected that fact that I want to do the planting myself and I never felt pressured to hire Oakland Nursery to do the work.

Oakland was very professional and did very good work. Only firm that gave us a plan before we paid any money. Worked with us while we got approval from our historical commission, and were flexible when we hit some snags. Would hire again.
