Nicholson Builders

This was our fourth project with the Small Projects Division of Nicholson Builders, and we continue to get excellent results with them. We had a garage with damaged drywall, a ceiling with extensive water damage from a previously leaky roof, a garage door in need of replacement, and no door opener. Bryan Copley, as usual, worked closely with me to make product selections and produce the proposal. Joe and his crew put in a new ceiling, repaired the existing walls, replaced some damaged molding, and painted all the walls and ceiling. The drywall work and painting (one coat of primer and two coats of paint) were exceptionally well done; in fact, it's impossible to tell that the ceiling is multiple sheets of drywall and not a single, smooth surface. The garage door and opener installation was subcontracted to Hamilton Parker. The installer, Ron, did an excellent, efficient job, was thorough, and briefed me completely before leaving. Nicholson wrapped the garage door framing in metal, doing a beautiful job, and painted the door. As is customary, the Nicholson workers were polite, congenial and neat; they swept the garage each night (the project took eight weekdays of continuous work), and made it possible for us to keep our vehicles in the garage overnight. Note that I cannot address pricing, since I do not, as a practice, seek competitive bids and have no basis for comparison. However, we are very pleased with the results, as in the past, feel that we've gotten our money's worth, and will certainly not hesitate to engage Nicholson Builders in the future. As I've said in previous reviews, it's a real luxury to have a firm with their expertise and professionalism willing to take on small projects.

Researched panels to match - special order - 5 months for cabinet auice no longer current color or current panel style - AL was installer - very careful, very pleasant new faucet & electrical good ( more expensive).

The technicians had to modify the application to accommodate the rafters in the attic. They did a great job.

This is our third instance of engaging Nicholson's small project division. As in the past, Bryan Copley was very thorough in planning the work. Nicholson sent Peter, for the third time, to do the actual work (along with an assist from Steve) and he turned in his usual excellent effort. He was punctual, easy to get along with, fastidiously clean, and cooperative, and wrapped the work up quickly. The work included replacement of two rather old kitchen faucets, replacement of hallway and front porch light fixtures, repair of a doorbell (as it turned out, by replacing a faulty button) and mortaring some holes in the brick walls enclosing the front porch. It's great having a quality, professional company like Nicholson willing to take on smaller jobs like this. We were completely satisfied with all the work and have already scheduled another, more major job for the near future.

Bryan estimated the jobs to be done & appreciated that he did not attempt to oversell. Kate scheduled the work, and al and his team showed up on time and completed the work in 2 ½ days.

Projects was more complicated then expl? Because of house electrical wiring. But the challenge was successful overco? And lights work perfectly the way I would Painting was also a out more of a job because lights and francs had to all removed & paint.

It was nothing new. We just had a couple of things where they came back and looked at a couple of things. It did not cost anything. They came back and did that kind of as a follow up and told us how things were working. I guess technically there was no additional work, per se because we did not contract for additional work at that time. They are very, very good people. They are friendly and reliable. I think their price was fair. We are cheap people who don't like to pay for anything so we are bad.

Excellent! Communication before, during and after project completion was excellent. Clean up was excellent and project successfully completed on time.

The contractors were very professionals water test on dormers was a good strategy to figure out what was going one.

This is our second engagement with Nicholson, and our second all-around excellent experience. It is a real pleasure to find such a superb, professional firm willing to deal with this kind of small project. At this point I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend Nicholson to anyone, and I?m confident we?ll engage them again in the future.

The job was huge but during the entire time, the crew was especially sensitive, cleaned up after themselves, always altered me to any potential problem. My husband and I were very pleased with the job.

We experienced frequent, unavoidable rain delays. Other than that, all went well.

Went very well. Only complaint was in the beginning when estimate person did not follow through to see if mable was available that we picked out. Our cleaner had to track the marble for use.

Peter had previous experience with the type of shower leak we had. He was professional and very easy to work with.

Nicholson does quality work. This (2015) the project started on time (as requested). Last year (large project) was late to start which caused late year issues.

I called Nicholson Builders the evening we experienced the problems and the next afternoon two gentlemen fixed our issues, in the rain.

The work was performed by Nicholson's Small Projects and Handyman Division. Initial planning was done by Bryan Copley, who was very thorough in ferreting out all the details, made more complicated by a different size and configuration of the ducting and our desire to find a better solution for the roof cap. Bryan also referred us to a very helpful contact at HH Gregg Finelines who helped us find the optimum replacement hood. The actual work was performed by a pair of Nicholson's workers who were polite, friendly, very competent, thorough and conscientious (to the point of being commendably fastidious). An optimal solution was found for the tricky ducting re-route, and the replacement roof cap has worked out admirably. (We had previously had severe problems with rainwater coming down the old ducting, and in spite of recent heavy rains, we have not had any water come in since the work was performed.) We're very happy with Nicholson's work and have already retained them for another project. It's quite a luxury to find a contractor of this caliber available for comparatively small projects such as this.

Nicholson Builders are the best. They take personal interest in jobs, and have the knowledge and exacting skills of craftsmen. We live in a mid-century home which needs repairs in order to maintain its archtectural integrity. Nicholson Builders met these needs and exceeded expectations with their interest, research, planning, and detailed completion of our various projects. Of the several Angies List door providers we talked to, Nicholson Builders were the only one with the willingness and vision to make our door to exact specifications (Thank you Britian).
