Nelson's Cleaning

So far I have no complaints with their workmanship. There are only two of us in the house and some of the rooms are barely used so upkeep is not difficult for those areas. The rooms we really use (kitchen, family room, master and master bath) need special attention and so far so good.

It took a while for us to connect on the phone. I never got anything but an answering machine when I called them. When I did speak with them, they were very friendly and prompt. Bruno came out to my house to give me an estimate for a detailed cleaning, and then a cleaning once every two weeks after that. The pricing was extremely high. First off, he asked me where I heard about them from, I told him Angie's list... the price, after the Angie's list "discount" was miraculously $600 even... down from $672. This reeks of "I just raised the price to account for the discount." in a really obvious way. The BIGGEST problem however is they seemed to think I could pay more for their services than their other customers do: For a detailed cleaning of my 1500 sq. ft. house they wanted $600 (NOT INCLUDING THE BASEMENT, so really about 1300 sq. ft.). As you can read in the reports on Apr 13th, 2011, they charged someone else $500 for a 3300 sq ft. home. So they wanted me to pay 164% more per sq. ft!! They wanted $140 to clean my 1500 sq. ft. home every other week. Another Angie's List member said they charged him $100 for a 1800 sqft house on July 14th, 2011. So I got charged 68% more per square foot there. I don't know if it's because they over estimated the size of my house, but I felt like they were trying to rip me off. I called and *politely* told them I thought they'd maybe over estimated the price and explained to them the prices I had seen on Angie's List, and three or four days later I haven't gotten a response. All things considered, I have to recommend avoiding Nelson's cleaning. ****UPDATE**** Just received an irate phone call from Bruno regarding my August 4, 2011 review of his services. He scolded me for a good 2-3 minutes before giving me a chance to respond. He called me a liar, said that others who have posted on Angie's list may have not told the truth or been inaccurate with what they were saying they paid Nelson's Cleaning. He also claimed that my house was in "very poor shape", which is completely wrong. My wife and I had spent every day after work cleaning the house in detail before our son's baptism that weekend, as we were having guests, I'd be happy to produce photographs, testimony or anything else required for Angie's List if they require proof of the state of our house at the time or any of my other claims. I reviewed my other reviews, and Luzia's Cleaning did a deep cleaning of my house in 2007 for $300.I stand by all previous statements I made that Nelson's cleaning was attempting to overcharge me. Whether or not that was intentional I have no idea... however I can say that this phone call was incredibly unprofessional.

Last year, I had this company do a "deep cleaning." I have lived here since 1962 and never had this house been so clean! So I had them back this month to do a regular cleaning. They do a wonderful job. They do have a problem with their timing, though. They showed up ready to clean a full day early so, of course, I wasn't prepared and asked them to come the next day as had been arranged. They said no problem. They did come back the next day but they were two hours late and hadn't notified me of the delay. It really was not a problem for me, but for someone on a tight schedule, it could cause some difficulties. In the first cleaning, the workers managed to get rid of two little spots in the shower which I had not been able to clear up with any cleaner. Gradually, the black spots appeared again. I suppose it is a form of mildew. After they left the last time, I went to admire it and the spots were still there. Because of having house guests and illness, it was a week before I called Bruno to tell him about it. The next day I got a call saying someone would be here to take care of it between 2:00 and 2:30. A little after 3:00 two of the workers arrived. They not only cleaned out those two corners, but they re-cleaned the entire bathroom! That made me very happy.Their workers are excellent and they work hard and fast. It would be much easier for me if they spoke English.

We have been using them for several years now. Most of the time, the same two people come out. I don’t have any problems with them.

We had our house on the market and during a busy sports season with 3 young kids I needed help keeping the house clean. I checked several cleaning companies on Angie's List and decided to call Nelson's. Bruno came out the next day and gave me an estimate for bi-weekly and monthly cleanings. My husband and I work full time and were not home when they came to clean. The first time they were scheduled to clean I got home from work and was absolutely amazed! They cleaned all the cracks and crevices and all of the blinds too! I'm pretty detailed when I clean, but I met my match! They did a terrific job each time! Overall they cleaned for us about 10 times. Never did they slack or not do something that had been done the previous time. The ceiling fans were always cleaned, as well as the general cleaning such as bathrooms, dusting, floors, etc. Now that we've moved I plan to have Nelson's come to clean our new house too!

Overall, they are very good, and I like them. They do a nice job helping to keep my house clean. They do everything including the fan blades; they also clean the inside windows. They rotate a room and do a deep cleaning in the room. I spend $125 per visit. The workers are polite, and they are very thorough and neat. They don’t chitchat but get to work and do their job. I have recommended them to others. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

Nelson's are great! I cannot say enough good things about them. Over the years I have tried many different cleaning company's that have just bee O.K. Nelson's are wonderful and they exceed expectations every time they come! They pay attention to detail, work hard to please and do many extras to make my house look beautiful. I have never had cleaners that have been so consistent and dedicated to what they do! Well done John and Kelly, I am so pleased to have you as our cleaners!

I contacted several house cleaning services and was impressed by Nelson's. We hired them to perform a deep cleaning of our home. They showed up on time and began working immediately. They spent over 9 hours at our home and our home was cleaned from top to bottom. They moved everything, couch, beds, dressers, kids toys, etc., cleaned behind them and then returned everything back to it's original position. They removed the globes off of the ceiling fans, cleaned the windows inside and out, and polished the glass on every picture. Everything that could be cleaned in our home was. I have since hired Nelson's to do a bi-weekly cleaning and would recommend them to anyone looking for a house cleaning service.

We started using Nelson's after 3-4 very poor maid service experiences about 2 years ago. Over the past 2 years, they've come every other week and made our house spotless. They are super nice, and very responsive to concerns. We don't want a service to move our stuff around to prove they have cleaned. We explained that once, and evere since, they put everything back exactly where it was when they got there... only clean! We've been very impressed with their service and responsiveness. And our house never was cleaner, even with 2 dogs and lots of dirt tracked in from the park down the street and a couple of construction zones at our house.

Every time the house is cleaned, I feel so relieved. With the busy lives we lead, having them come is an absolute sanity saver. They came for their initial cleaning and spent the entire day cleaning everything in sight. And cleaning areas that I didn't know were there - much less dirty! The inside of the medicine cabinet, the bed frame, windows, blinds, fans, furniture, everything came off the shelf, cleaned and returned to a clean shelf... seriously amazing detailed cleaning. Now they come monthly to "keep up". The two who come are a married couple. The communication is minimal due to language difference - but clean is clean in any language - and they know clean. They are sometimes late. I'm convinced that they are busy finishing the previous house - and that is fine with me. That just means someone else is getting a clean house too. If you are looking for a housekeeping service - you will not be disappointed with this team.

An initial estimate was conducted a week prior to the service date and during this time the owner was extremely professional and did a fantastic job describing the work that would be done. On the date of service, both cleaners arrived on time and did a spectacular job on the house. We got a top-to-bottom cleaning and it was wonderful. I highly recommend this company and plan to use them for regular cleanings.

Bruno was extremely professional. Showed up exactly on the dot for the estimate. Gave me a copy and had a copy for himself. His crew showed up on time and they did an AMAZING job. Cleaned everything from top to bottom. I have continued to use them on a regular basis. Their work impresses everyone, even the very detailed oriented! I started using them for our office and clients often comment on how clean our office looks and feels (we are in healthcare so that's quite important!). I recommend them to everyone. My neighbor recently had them deep clean her house. She told me today that "This is the year you changed my life". She is overjoyed with them and has them coming back on a regular basis to clean. She now has time with her family she didn't have before and has a cleaner house than she every imagined! The cleaning is very affordable on a regular basis. The deep clean is expensive but they work they buts off and it's well worth the money spent. Thank you, Thank you Nelson's Cleaning!!!!! You will regret NOT using them.

They are coming back this Saturday. The coming up housecleaning would be a thorough and deep cleaning. The one they did for me personally and the most recent was just a regular housecleaning. They also do move in and move out cleaning. I have had them do that on a couple of properties. The regular housecleaning is $180. I got their name online and used them on properties as well as for my son?s house when he was getting it ready for sale or rent. They did such a fantastic job that I started using them for my house. I recommended them to people that I was doing house staging for. They work really hard for their money. They are very hard workers and there is a lot of value for the money. I would hire them again.

I would rate them an A overall as their personnel are not ones to list out things they don't do as opposed to things they do clean. The owner is also truly accountable for customer satisfaction and will get things corrected if needed.

A crew of 4 workers plus the owner arrived around 8am and the crew cleaned until 6:30pm. They know what they are doing! Very detailed cleaning of all light fixtures, baseboards, windows, blinds, doors, etc. The owner even changed burned out light bulbs in our 18 ft ceiling. I did notice a new scratch on our family room coffee table which must have happened when they cleaned under the glass top, but I was able to hide it okay with a furniture stain marker. I also spent time putting our decorative accessories back in their original positions but that's to be expected. We are so pleased with their work that we've hired them to clean regularly every 2 weeks.

They don?t spend more than an hour and a half to two hours for services. Two individuals come out. Pretty fast and bring their own equipment. Handle their own taxes. Sometimes there?s a communication issue. Overall, the cleanings are pretty good.

Fantastic job - the cleaners came in and worked diligently during the entire time they were here. They not only did the regular cleaning but got up on ladders to clean the light fixtures and ceiling fans. Great job.

Three individuals came for about 12 hours and they were excellent! I will continue to use them on a monthly basis.

They came and did a VERY thorough cleaning job the first time - down to cleaning the ceiling fans, windows, dismantling my king sized bed to dust the frame, and even fixed a clog in my sink and fixed a lamp:) They are absolutely fabulous! I immediately signed them up for bi-weekly cleanings and think they do a great job for the money!

We used Nelson's cleaning for about 4 years, and they totally rocked. I can honestly say that I was satisfied every single time. We had 3 to 4 different cleaning teams over that time period, and they were all hard workers and thorough. They were always pleasant. They were nice to my small children. Yes, many of the employees mainly speak Portugese, but they can understand a little English. To communicate special cleaning instructions or requests, you just call Rosa the contact person, and she relays the message with great dependability. If you are a stickler for exact punctuality, you might not like it if they are running 15 -20 minutes late. But I believe that any lateness might be caused by the fact that they do not leave the previous house until EVERYTHING is done. I don't know if it matters, but I always made an effort to declutter before they came. But even when I was pregnant and didn't feel up to decluttering, they would pick up the toys and put the papers in neat stacks. We are moving, and I will greatly miss Nelson's Cleaning especially since we can't afford cleaners anymore right now.

They are fast and thorough. Make life easy for me.

I felt overwhelmed and decided to check Angie's list for housecleaning. It was the best decision I ever made! I called and left a message. My call was promptly returned and I set up an appointment with Bruno. He was right on time, thorough and supportive. I tried to apologize for my messy house as I took him through the house. He said no, that?s what they do it was then I knew I was on the right track. The price was fair and my first experience was sensational. My house never looked so clean! I liked that the same two individuals come every time. They are extremely dedicated and hard workers. They are kind people and they were fine with our animals, cat and dog. We left for dinner and they were still scrubbing and cleaning when we returned. The place sparkled and so did I. All I can say is call them, you'll feel the same.

Very good! From the appointment and estimate with Bruno to coming home to find everything clean and smelling fresh! They did a wonderful job!!

Overall they did an ok job. But I noticed that some rooms were cleaner then others, which led me to believe that one worker was working harder then the other. I also found the language barrier a bit difficult. Also, I would have appreciated a call back to see how I like the service.

It was fantastic. The company was very professional and communicated with us very well. The owner even returned to clean some areas that he missed and ensured that I was satisfied with the work.
