+ -1 moreYesterday, they called to let me know that the worker was on his way. When he got here, we could all tell that he wasn't quite sure of himself. He started messing with the faucet even though it was working properly; it was just leaking. After a few minutes, he had broken the handle off of the sink. I tried to tell him that I need it fixed asap; however, he claimed that it had been super-glued on the faucet which is why it broke. I purchased those sinks in 2009 and they are meant to last for quite some time. We bought them from a Beauty Equipment specialty store and I have all information to prove it. I called Melissa back in the office of Muetzel and she said she would figure it out as the sink would be fixed by close of business yesterday. Well, it is not fixed. She also told me she would call either way--to let me know when they would be out, if they need to order a new part, etc. I did not receive a call from her. Now when I call, there is a voicemail saying they are closed on the weekends and will not reopen until Monday. I am trying to run a business and would have at least appreciated a phone call to inform me they would be unable to return until next week.
Description of Work: We had a leaking shampoo well at our salon and had previously used Muetzel so I called them.

+ -1 moreI would definitely recommend Muetzel Plumbing, and I will call them again with any plumbing matters in the future. There was no pressure in sales - it was entirely up to me, which I appreciated.
Description of Work: Our sump pump wasn't working properly. I chose Muetzel Plumbing from reading the other comments from others who had used their services. I was very pleased. The appointment was set for the morning (I was second on the work order list that day), and I was told that I would get a call 30 minutes prior to the tech coming out, which I did. He was on time. When I told him that our sump pump was only a few months old, he looked to see what the problem could be. He told me there were a lot of rocks in the sump pump well that hadn't been removed, and then he found a hole in the well. It looked like whomever installed the well made a cut in it so it would fit, thereby allowing rocks to get in over time. When I mentioned that I thought our downspouts might be clogged, he also took a look outside and found that our lateral lines were backed up - it was raining and there was no water flushing out to the street. He explained the process and price estimates of what it would take to have them repaired/replaced; he even pulled some matter out of the drain and saw that it had a lot of debris in it. He gave me all the options of what he could do with both the sump pump and the outside work. I chose to have a new sump pump installed, and wait on the outside work. I was very pleased with his workmanship.

gas leak repair
+ -1 moreThey were professional over the phone but could not quote us exactly the diagnostic charge when we first called. As agreed, they called us 20-30 min before to tell us they were on their way. The repair guys were more upfront and quoted us the rate of $125/hr for diagnostic and estimated it would take only 15-30 min to diagnose it all. They found the leak very quickly, resolved it and double checked our fireplace all in less than an hour and accepted the $20 off coupon from AL even for a small job like this. They also were careful to wear plastic wraps over their shoes and to clean after their work.
Description of Work: We contacted them for a small gas leak connected to a valve leading to our gas fireplace. Resolution involved diagnostic of the location of the leak, tightening the packing of the leaky valve and retesting the fireplace.

Description of Work: Our downspout drains were backing up. It was determined that the pipe carrying water to the curb was impeded by tree roots. The company came out, confirmed the blockage, and cleared the blockage with a jetter.

+ -1 moreWe called them to determine the cause of a drain overflowing in our basement. They snaked the drain and ensured it was clear and could handle good waterflow. They were on time and were able to get us scheduled within a week of our call. We also asked if he could determine the cause of a water leak on the ceiling of our finished basement. He crawled back into our crawl space to determine the leak was due to the pipes sweating. Crawling back there to look was worth the cost of the visit alone.

Description of Work: On the Sunday before the 4th of July, my husband just happened to be in the basement when he noteda leak in one of the overhead pipes. Being on a Sunday, on a holiday weekend no less, I got several "leave a message" on various phones as I began to call plumbers. Muetzel had a real live person, who took a message, and got back to us quickly. Mike came out, quickly assessed what needed to be done, and had the entire mess repaired in under an hour. I would call them again in a heartbeat.

water heater repair
+ -1 moreI got in the shower this morning and there was no hot water. I called Muetzel Plumbing, hoping to get someone over today. They were able to fit me in. The technician gave me a couple options, and my husband and I decided to get a new water heater. It was pricier than we anticipated, but I know if there is a problem that Muetzel is responsive (we've used them before), and I was thrilled that they were able to solve the problem today.

+ -1 morePlumber came on time, analyzed the problem, gave a realistic estimate of time and cost, took extra steps to insure proper installation, fixed the problem, accepted the Angie's List coupon cheerfully, and left us completely satisfied. The plumber was courteous, friendly, effecient, and effective. This is the second time we have called Muetzel and will do so again when the need arises.

+ 0 moreI called the company to snake out a slow bathroom sink drain. The technician arrived on time and confirmed that the drain needed to be snaked. He tried two different snakes but kept getting stuck. When he left, the drain was completely clogged and the tech recommended replacing the existing plumbing under the floor for approx $1200.00. The next morning the drain was still completely clogged. I called the company back and told them that the problem was worse than before the work was done. I was informed that they could come out and snake it again (for an additional charge) but that's all they could do. So, now I'm left with a non-functional bathroom sink which worked before the plumber came out. I wish the company would refund my money since they made the problem worse but they just said that sometimes these things happen when you snake out a drain. I wish they would have warned me of that risk before the work was performed. The technician was friendly and tried his best but they shouldn't have charged me. The company has now agreed to refund my money.

If I have a problem with their work, I can call them out, and they'll check it. They are fairly punctual, but they are very busy. Sometimes, they don't come out as quickly as I like. If I have a real problem, they will come right out. They do a good job. Every time I have a plumbing problem, I call them.
Description of Work: They snaked the kitchen sink. They did some work on my toilet drain upstairs and my sink drain downstairs. They also did work on the sink spigot upstairs. They did a lot of plumbing work.

+ 0 moreCalled Muetzel Plumbing, they didn't charge a travel fee or service fee to come to the house. Their protocol is that you describe the problem to them, they come to your home, examine the plumbing problem, give you an estimate and then you choose to have them stay and fix the plumbing, or have them leave. Since I needed the repairs done I had him stay. Felt we received our money's worth. He cleaned up after each task, was upfront about costs, and concentrated on the job.
Description of Work: 1. Valve replaced on single faucet bathtub, faucet was dripping 2. garbage disposal replaced, had sprung a leak 3. cold water line cleaned leading to clothes washer Turned out what should have a been a quick job took about an hour longer on the bathtub faucet as the valve wouldn't come off. With the kitchen sink there was also a clog of food in the drain line, so had two problems there.

Once we decided on one of the projects to be done (installing a whole house water filter) we called to set up an appointment. They scheduled the work to be done within two days and sent out the same gentleman to do the work. I received a call 30 minutes before he was supposed to show up allowing me time to run home from work. Mike showed up exactly on time and was very professional and helpful with all my questions. We are very happy with the work performed and how friendly Mike was. Overall a great experience.
Description of Work: Work performed was installing a whole house water filter that we purchased from Lowe's with two shut off valves on each side.

He seemed ill advised on how to proceed and did not come prepared with the proper tools. I needed to go to my personal tool supply and help him get the job done. He complained about not being able to do the job and I needed to insist that he finish and help him in the process. I did not hire a "professional" to have to help him with his specialty nor did I expect he would then charge us as much as he did for such a miserable job.

Instead I was able to schedule to be the first appointment of the day with the plumber schedule to arrive between 7:30 and 8:00 pm. The plumber called because he was running a few minutes late but showed up at a reasonable time. He gave me a written quote which I could accept or reject with no call out fee. I asked him to go ahead and complete the work which was done professionally. He cleaned up after himself. I like that he brought a floor mat to absorb some of the water that was bound to spill out.
Description of Work: I had them come out to unclog my kitchen sink drain.
