Moving Ahead Services LLC

This was our third time using Moving Ahead Services. Each time, I've done my due diligence and gotten quotes from a couple other companies, and Moving Ahead has consistently had competitive pricing, if not the best rate. Each time they have been extremely helpful and responsive through the process, and transparent when it comes to services and pricing-- I go into it knowing exactly what to expect and what I'll pay, and each time they have delivered exactly what they say they will. The crews are always friendly, professional, and careful with our things. 100% recommend.

We moved to a new house about a month ago, after living in the same place for 7 years. We had a lot of heavy furniture and other items. The movers Kelvin, Ty, and Jaylen did a great job arriving on time, moving everything carefully, and thoughtfully moving around the space to avoid damage. They were kind to our animals and young son, who was very excited and wanted to "help". Thank you Kelvin, Ty, and Jay for your professionalism and excellent service.

Finding a mover in June was not an easy task, so we settled. Huge mistake on our part. The contract says they are not liable for any damage and trust me, they take full advantage of that. We have scrapes on our wood furniture, metal items were bent, two furniture pieces had to be discarded due to damage. New landlord said the back door was bent that they removed to bring washer and dryer in. Boxes were labeled and labels were ignored. Constant complaining about how heavy things were. Two different guys claimed to be in charge. We called in advance and we were advised to leave items in drawers. Second man who claimed to be in charge said all drawers should have been emptied. First man corrected him. It took 3 men over 10 hours to move our 1 bedroom 2-story condo 7.1 miles to a ranch with a basement. (It too the prior 3 men moving team less than half that time) They charge by the hour. They were not even capable of putting the truck in our driveway (about 100 feet and straight) which would easily have accommodated their truck, but instead parked it on the street and walked up and down the driveway. Most of our belongings were storage totes and boxes. The heaviest item was our treadmill. We had no large kitchen appliances. I watched as they moved in slow motion unloading our belongings. One even asked a neighbor in our new neighborhood for a cigarette. Highly unprofessional, extremely overpriced, very slow and careless. I would prefer to give zero stars as they do not deserve one.

Wonderful! Very cordial and personable men; totally accommodating, wanted to do just as we wanted; very careful with furniture and walls as they were moving furniture around. Efficient and punctual. Explained process and billing well. Assured me I would get a call from manager when they returned (and I did). His call was prompt and details were well explained. Overall a very good experience. I would hire them again.

They were late, they did bring an extra guy free of charge. But they were late. And they also tore our basement stairs carpet up bringing items up.

Great! They did everything we asked. Very polite and professional. Nothing was broken. With COVID, it was a challenge at the facility in TN but everything worked out fine.

Awesome service - would highly recommend. We had a set start time and the crew showed up 10-15 minutes early to be prepared to start right on time. They were extremely friendly, helpful, efficient, professional, and careful of our belongings. I rarely leave reviews unless the service either far surpassed or didn't meet my expectations. I am glad to leave this review for MAS for how well they exceeded my expectations and would gladly recommend anyone to use them for their moving services.

Long distance move from VT to MD was smooth; excellent service and good people. They were great to work with, very organized and professional while keeping the mood light to help with a very stressful move. We shopped around and they had the best price for the services offered, we packed the boxes but they loaded, drove and unloaded the truck. We loved knowing that our belongings were staying in their hands the whole trip. While other companies said it may take a week to get our belongings, they handled the move in just 3 days from pick up to unload. Fantastic people, great price, highly recommend!

We relocated from an apartment into a new home. We needed assistance moving our larger and bulkier items. Moving Ahead scheduled me at the time I needed. When there was a change to our schedule, they were able to accommodate without issue. They were in constant communication with me regarding the move and allowed me to add extra items at the last minute. The movers were available early and came to get things started. They were courteous, professional and took extreme care in prepping the space to ensure no damage occurred to the carpet/tile. The took extra care in wrapping all items as well. They were very efficient and we had no damage to our property that was being moved or to the house/apartment. Having been a military family and moving 15 times over the last 20 years, I can guarantee you they are exceptional in taking care of the customer and their property! If the need ever arises, I will without a doubt call them again!

We got 2 young men for 2 hours. They went straight to work and worked quickly. They finished just under the 2 hours, All I did was step back, watch and tell them where to place the furniture. I was wonderful. They were friendly, amusing and very professional.

We would have been better off with paying a friend or acquaintance. We thought this move required some professionals. Unfortunately there was not much professionalism going on. The young men argued with each other the entire time. No one took any leadership. I accept some damage to furniture, walls, and flooring to be part of the nature of a big move. However, these were by far the roughest movers we have ever had. Hard wood floors were deeply scratched, walls and ceilings marked up and pieces of furniture completely destroyed. These guys were just concerned about being fast. Simple things like removing legs and drawers that would seem to make a move easier didn’t happen. No time to waste! This was the most disappointed I have ever been with a moving company. And I probably have a pretty low bar for satisfaction.

It went well. The movers were strong and efficient. When one of the movers expressed profanity very loudly, I was told that I would receive a discount. I did not. This is the only reason I give them a B rating. The move was seamless, but the communication wasn't.

This is by far the BEST moving experience I have ever had! From getting a quote, to setting up a day and time, to identifying what I wanted moved, to experiencing moving day – everything was easier than I expected. Chris Curry and his team arrived on time and ready to go! They didn’t need to be told twice what to do and because of that I got work done too! They were respectful of my belongings and, get this, NOTHING WAS DAMAGED. And they were funny and friendly and fast!

Very poorly. I could not even get a full quote. Sent email expressing disappointment. Obviously, if they show such poor resppnsiveness for additional new business, I can only imagine how poorly an actual move might be. I would not recommend. Seems things have changed.

This was my third move with Moving Ahead Services, and it went just as well as the first two moves. Each time I've used their services, the communication has been fantastic. It has been easy to contact them if I have any questions or concerns prior to the move. They call the day before to confirm things and see if you need any last minute boxes or other items. Luckily, they were able to bring a mattress bag for me when I realized I didn't have one. Each of the crews I've worked with have been polite, personable, and efficient. No items have ever been broken or damaged in the moves. They take care to wrap everything nicely and protect the items, but they do it very quickly. I will definitely be using them in the future if their services are required.

It has been a long time since I needed a moving company and I was in a desperate situation to get moved. I went with this company on recommendation of my realtor, I filled out the inventory list on line, submitted and waited for them to give me an estimate. The woman from the office called me very quickly and gave me an estimate of between $900-$1200 we also were able to schedule for the following week. A few days before the move, I got a call to verify everything was ready and I let the gentleman know I was but actually had more boxes then originally thought, he said that was no problem. The day of the move, Thomas, Jarred and Travis arrived in the scheduled time frame and were able to get things in the truck very quickly. I was quite impressed as I was worried about the whole process. When we got to the new place they put down the carpet guard I had ordered and got the stuff in to the right rooms very quickly taking great care not to scuff or bang walls. They were so efficient that when they were done and I had to pay I ended up paying slightly less than the estimate. I would definitely recommend this company and these guys to anyone.

We moved to our new home in December. This is the second time we've used Moving Ahead Services to get the job done. They quoted us a move time that seemed reasonable for the size of our house and 2 storage units. The guys who were assigned to do the move showed up on time and were very professional. They listened to everything we had to say and took very good care of all of our possessions. For everything that they moved, I only saw one tiny streak that they left behind on the wood floors, and that was easily cleaned up. The guys were note only efficient but they had a great attitude and were fun to be around. I would highly recommend using this company and their services.

I used Moving Ahead for an office move and an apartment move, all within a month of each other. Both times I found the team to be very friendly, hard-working and responsive. They were on time. They were respectful and they were efficient. I choose them for the second time because I was so pleased with the results. They come in sweats, they sometimes have their earphones in but not once did I think they were not paying attention or responsive. Really pleased with the service and would highly recommend them.

We got Steven and his crew to come move my parents. These guys were top notch, super nice and polite. They wrapped all of our items, were careful with it all. Packed the truck and then when they got to the new house they unloaded it all were we wanted it to be and even put all the beds back together. These 3 never stopped until the job was complete. If I ever had to move anything and couldn’t do it myself we would definitely call and ask for these guys to come back.

Wonderful! Easy to schedule. The movers that helped us were wonderful.

The service was really bad. On the move in day., they left our piano under the sun for hours when the temperature was 85 degrees because they didn't assign enough movers to the job. They broke a heirloom desk lamp and damaged 10 plus other stuffs during the move. I paid extra $500 for extra coverage insurance and submitted claim on time. They never replied to me in written. A staff called me a couple of times saying i would receive something via email, guess what, I never did. Today is the settlement deadline, they still didn't reply. Do NOT use this company! Updated 1/05/2020 Resolution agreement was settled.

I booked Moving Ahead Services based off a couple of reviews and was very happy with the service I received. Don and Nick were professional, efficient, and safe with my belongings (nothing was broken, damaged, and they made sure to handle everything carefully). Well they moved me in a new house and did damage to the wall going into the basement and at the front entrance and offered me 50.00. Not only that but I had to leave before they were done so my mother paid with a check. I called them back as soon as I got home to just give them my credit card information and the owner Jeff said he would NOT cash my mother’s check. Well today my mother has 1100 bucks out of her account and they took my money too. Called them to get my mother’s money refunded it’s been over 40 minutes with no call back. DO NOT HIRE THEM unless you have clear expectations of how they are supposed to move the items in your home without damage. I just want my money back. Update: they want us to wait 3-5 business days to get back her money, I explained she is on a fixed income which she is but that didn’t matter to them at all. I asked them to overnight her money but they can’t do that either. This is poor customer service at it’s best. What’s even more sad we tipped the movers then found the damage :-(. Never ever again will I ever hire them. The F eating is due to them not being able to give me options as far as making things right. Need to be more transparent in their business transactions.

The team arrived on time, worked efficiently and professionally, and completed the move within the expected time frame. Very good experience1
