Description of Work: Modlich fabricated new black granite counter tops for our kitchen. When we saw the results, we were appalled. Two corners had been knocked off (different) slabs; in one case they glued the piece back on (which was obvious!) and in the other case they tried to cover it up with a black synthetic compound. The granite pieces in front of the cooktop and sink were thinner than the pieces elsewhere and someone had tried to hone away the difference so that the edge was wavy. The compound that joins together the pieces was really badly applied. After our contractor argued with them, they finally agreed to replace the granite (which meant that the overall renovation of our kitchen was nearly a month delayed). The second attempt is better, but since they used in part the old granite and in part some new granite, the matches in tone are not perfect. And we have just discovered that the front of the long edge of our peninsula was beveled unevenly underneath. We didn't notice this for the first two weeks after the second installation because a lot of other things were going on with our kitchen remodel, but we see it now. When you stand in our family room (instead of the kitchen) and look at the edge of granite that faces the family room, it's visible. I have spent a great deal of money on cabinets, tile, floor refinishing and new appliances for this kitchen, and the quality of the countertops sure doesn't match.

MR. MODLICH HELPED ME CHOOSE THE STONE AND HELD IT TILL THE WORK WAS DONE. I WAS COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK. I FOUND THIS COMPANY TO BE MOST HELPFUL IN UNDERSTANDING GRANITE, INSTALLATION AND PURCHASE PROCESS. MARK WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND HELPFUL. THE PRICING WAS BETTER THAN OTHER SUPPLIERS I LOOKED AT. HE SPENT AS MUCH TIME AS WE NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND THE PRODUCT WE WERE BUYING.

THE ENTIRE MODLICH TEAM IS PROFESSIONAL AND THEIR WORK IS PRECISE. I HAD A FEW QUESTIONS AND ISSUES OUTSIDE OF THEIR AREA OF EXPERTISE, BUT THEY OFFERED ADVICE AND RESOURCES. ANYONE DOING A HOME REMODEL KNOWS HOW IMPORTANT RELIABILITY IS TO OVERALL SATISFACTION AND THEY MET EVERY APPOINTMENT AND DEADLINE PRECISELY ON TIME. I WOULD RECOMMEND MODLICH TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN A HIGH-QUALITY OUTCOME TO A GRANITE INVESTMENT.
