Description of Work: We had a Mac laptop that needed a warranty repair, keyboard replacement. The Apple Store would only service it by sending it out-of-town, 5-10 days or more. We tried Microcenter and their staff examined the machine, ordered the part BUT called when it came in for us to bring back the machine. Total time out of our hands was about 4-5 hours. They provided the absolute best and most timely, cooperative approach to this service need.

+ 0 moreEverything was fine. They tolerated all of my questions. The price was reasonable. It was comparatively cheaper. The quality is better than other places especially the selection. I have taken my computer to be serviced. I added the wrong type of memory to it. The additional memory chip was not the right size. They fixed it in approximately two days. Everything was very professional. The tech called me as soon as it was evaluated.

+ -1 moreWent to Micro Center as a result of friends recommendation. After considering several options we purchased a new laptop and scanner/printer, on the recommendation of the sales personnel. Shortly after we took the merchandise home, we encountered difficulty with the printer. We took it back and exchanged it for another. We have subsequently had to uninstall and reinstall the printer software over 8 times, and it still does not work properly. I have called and emailed the company, they assure the Bethel Rd. store will contact me and correct the problem. This has been going on for 6 months and I have never been contacted by a representative of the Bethel Rd. store and corporate offices still is evading the problem. I have had no one contact me or offer any attempt to rectify the problem.
Description of Work: My purpose for the visit to Micro Center on Bethel Rd., Columbus, Ohio, was to purchase a laptop and scanner/printer.

+ -1 moreMicro center was consulted;they looked up the specs on our machine and sold us a new reboot disk. These are unreturnable items, as you generally only need them briefly. When I returned home, I learned that my husband had found his CD. So, I called micro center, as I had just purchased the disk and explained that my husband had found his, they agreed to let me return the CD for a refund. Great customer service!
Description of Work: Our computer "died" and my husband determined we needed a reboot disk for the machine, which we could not locate. Micro center was consulted to resolve the problem.

+ -1 moreThey had friendly, courteous, and professional service. The rep. suggested getting a new one instead of having service work done. I decided to have the service work done. They had to ship the laptop out for servicing. They kept me well-informed through the whole process. The laptop was finished before they said it would be. The price was as quoted. I should have listened to the rep though. Six weeks later, the hard drive crashed. I decided to get a new laptop instead of re-investing more into the old one.
Description of Work: I was unable to use a power supply with my laptop computer. I could not recharge the battery.

Description of Work: INSTALLED NEW POWER SUPPLY, BACKED UP COMPUTER, REINSTALLED WINDOWS ME. THE POWER SUPPLY AND REINSTALLATION COST $150, THE BACK-UP OF FILES COST $55. WHEN THEY BACKED UP OUR FILES, WE SPECIFICALLY SAID THAT OUR QUICKEN FILES WAS THE THING WE WERE MOST CONCERNED ABOUT. THEY DID NOT BACK UP THE ENTIRE YEAR OF 2004. WHEN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY DID NOTHING TO HELP EXCEPT BLAME IT ON US. I WAS THERE WHEN THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME HE BACKED UP THE FILES. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME HE HAD BACKED UP MY FILES. LATER, MICROCENTER BLAMED ME FOR NOT VERIFYING!! THEY WERE RUDE AND DID NOTHING TO SATISFY THE CUSTOMER. WE STILL PAID $55 TO BACK UP THE COMPUTER EVEN THOUGH THEY MISSED THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. A GOOD COMPANY WOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO SATISFY THE CUSTOMER.

Description of Work: I PURCHASED A PALM PILOT HERE A FEW MONTHS AGO. I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED TECHNICAL PROBLEMS, AND RETURNED TO THE STORE FOR ASSISTANCE. I WAS HOPING THEY COULD ADVISE ME HOW TO FIX THE ERROR. IF THIS DIDNT WORK, THEN I WAS HOPING THEY COULD SHIP THE UNIT BACK TO THE FACTORY FOR REPAIR. THEY REFUSED TO OFFER ANY ADVISE (I EVEN HAD MY RECEIPT TO PROVE I BOUGHT IT THERE). THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD SEND IT BACK TO THE FACTORY, BUT THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $75 TO SHIP A 1 POUND PACKAGE. THIS IS VERY POOR SERVICE AFTER THE SALE.
