As I said, There was a leak in the bathtub/shower in our kids bathroom. I had recently installed a new showerhead, so I thought that might be the problem. I took it off, and with product support, figured the leak was coming from elsewhere, so I called McDermott - our "go to plumber". Mike came out to assess the problem. He figured it out very quickly. We set a date for him to come back to fix the problem because it was a pretty involved problem, requiring him to cut through drywall to get to the drain and pipes. Mike came out and fixed the leak much more quickly than I thought it would take. We haven't used that shower yet because I've been re-caulking, and re-grouting the bath/tub, and behind the toilet area that calls for caulk. Mike is a really personable guy, and very trustworthy. I'd trust him to be in our house if we weren't there, He does a great job, assesses problems quickly, and is always 100% professional. I highly recommend McDermott Plumbing for any plumbing or remodeling job!

Mr. McDermott was very friendly and kind in his willingness to consider the various questions I had regarding each plumbing situation and even some questions about situations that did not require a plumber (e.g., ice machine in refrigerator). He explained everything that he recommended and was patient in investigating options. I would give the overall satisfaction as an A-/B+ because he informed me after the work was done that McDermott charges 4% on all credit card transactions. I like to pay most large bills with credit card so that I can receive benefits through my bank. I would have liked to have known the company's policy up front. The Angie's List site posts the following about McDermott's mission: "To earn each and every customers trust we promise only flat rate and honest pricing. This means, we will provide each customer with a guaranteed low price before the work is begun. Our customers agree with the philosophy that knowing the total cost of work before the job is started is a key factor in establishing trust."? I would just modify this to state something about the "lowest price" involving cash or check only.

The sewer cleanout including camera review of sewer line. The charge listed is for that service. Previously, he identified a natural gas line leak created when a contractor installing new meters inadvertently loosened a joint, allowing me to recover payments made to the contractor. Michael is very responsive, knowledgeable and professional. I recommend the use of his services.

Purchased a home that had been neglected. Before we moved in we had the list of items addressed by McDermott Plumbing. Michael McDermott did the all the work. He was on time, had full discussion on the scope of work to be done before he started all the work I wanted completed, very professional, extremely pleasant, and we felt his pricing was very affordable given all the work we had him do (and some of it was pretty nasty). We plan to replace faucets and will definitely use McDermott Plumbing for that work as well.

In addition to the above, Mike first came out and replaced a toilet that wasn't working right. Every time we've asked for suggestions, Mike has been very aware of our situation, and offered the best way to do something, and a more when we've asked, more affordable ways. Both equally good, with the more costly saved for a time when we are ready to remodel. These were situations that needed attention pronto! Mike has been really good when we've asked for suggestions. Mike is our plumber for life... Or for as long as we live here, and hopefully Mike doesn't retire!

I had an urgent issue that needed immediate attention. I called Mike McDermott since I have used him in the past and he stated that he was really busy and would check if another plumber he knows could help. He called me back in 15mins as promised and said he would push things around and would be here 1st thing in the AM. Mike showed up a little after 8 as agreed and within 30-40 mins resolved the issue. He explained what he was doing, Explained what happened and showed me that the water was flowing. This was a big relief for me I had concerns that there was a bigger problem. Michael was very professional and polite. He and Daniel fixed all of our plumbing issues in a timely manner and even provided some last minute requests without thinking twice. I was very appreciative of their services and would definitely hire them again.

Very professional service. They were timely, neat, courteous, knowledgeable. What "separates them from the pack" is that they taught me about what they were doing and offered maintenance suggestions and other tips. I really appreciated this as I like to know why things are occurring. Their number is in my phone and will stay there.

Just when you think Michael McDermott has already provided THE VERY BEST service that could possibly exist, he finds NEW ways to be RESPONSIVE AND PROFESSIONAL AND A LIFESAVER!! -- not to mention unlike nearly every other service provider-- in the plumbing category or any other. When other providers would be telling you why something isn't possible, Michael is quickly finding ways to get it done. Michael McDermott thoroughly understands and builds customer relationships--that's how he has built such a successful business. My water situation was urgent and he had had the day from h***, filled with emergencies. Yet he managed to respond. As always, I am eternally grateful and will never call anyone else but Michael McDermott!!

Unlike Eco Plumbers they were confident about being able to flush it and that went smoothly. He then inspected the rest of the plumbing in the house and said everything checked out short of needing to replace some plastic water feed lines with steel braided. Very up front and honest.

Mike McDermott arrived within the promised time window, introduced himself, and set to work immediately. Once he was able to access the plumbing for the faucet, he explained that current code requires that he install a shut off valve to the outdoor faucet and that the cost of the shut off valve was not included in the Angie's List Big Deal. I agreed to the installation of the shut off valve. He completed the work quickly, despite my dogs constant interference. He was able to email my invoice. He was polite and professional.

Michael is very professional, patient and competent. He is someone you can trust and I would highly recommend him.

8am to 10 am window came at 9:55 Replacement of internal parts and seal on toilet. fixed stopper on sink. Done by 11:00 Returned home at 6 pm to find water all over floor. Took 3 phone calls to convince him to come back same night Found the job more expensive than I planned, and the technician Was arrogant, felt like charges padded and customer service lacking

He arrived and checked out the problem and gave me an estimate of $120 including the $79 service call. I had him proceed with the snaking of the toilet and he was able to complete the job in a short time period. He was very professional and was sure to clean up after his job. I also had some questions about the plumbing in the basement related to the installation of the toilet in the 1/2 bath and the drain pipes. He checked those for me as well and he said they were fine. He checked the run of the waste lines to make sure they were installed correctly and assured me they were. I was very pleased with the service and will be calling him if we have any other problems.

The provider repaired the leaky faucet satisfactorily.

Talked to Michael first thing in the morning and he committed to having someone out between noon and 4pm. Andy called at 1:30 and said he would be there in 25 mins and was right on time. He diagnosed a complex problem. Snaked drains and changed seals on both toilets. He cleaned up under toilet that was leaking so it was better than when he arrived. He cleaned up in both baths before he left. Nice work and very professional. I would definately use McDermott again.

Andy was right on time, was friendly and professional. The job was done well and with no mess. Andy was very good about explaining what he did and the cost was reasonable. The faucet works very well.

I received a complete cost estimate for the work over the phone. He showed up on time and was very friendly and efficient. He got everything fixed and gave me some options on a couple to the issues.

When I woke up in the morning I discovered that the kitchen sink faucet was not working at all. I found Mike on Angie's List and called him. He suggested initially that I check the aerator to see if it was clogged, as this would be a quick and easy fix I could do on my own. When this didn't fix the problem, he said he would come out between 2-5 p.m. that same day to take a look at it. Mike called ahead and arrived promptly at 2 p.m. After inspecting the faucet, he indicated that it would need to be replaced. He helped my wife pick out a new faucet online that would be high-quality and match the kitchen decor. He then went out and picked it up at Lowe's and installed it, all in the span of two hours. He was extremely friendly and professional, clearly explained what he was doing, and charged us less than he had initially estimated. He was also able to give us a discount for being Angie's List members even though I hadn't realized I was eligible for a discount. I felt his fees were very reasonable, and given his promptness, professionalism and clear expertise, I would highly recommend him to others!

Work was performed. The guy was very professional and inspected a couple other things that we should watch out for. Parts replaced and everything looks great!

This was my knight in shining armor! Called the 24/7 number and explained the situation. The person on the phone said a Technician would call me on Monday to go over the exact details. Owner, Mike McDermott call back Monday morning and said he would come out and visually inspect. He gave me a two hour window (between 8 - 10 am) with a pre-call to let me know exactly when he would arrive. He called at 9:45 and said he'd be here exactly at 10 am, which he was. He discussed pricing and what the process would be to remove the old water heater and install the new one. He explained all the weird noises I might hear and that our smoke alarms might go off due t the welding (they didn't). He brought the new water heater in, got it all hooked up, took out the old one AND took it with him when he left. Some companies I've heard just remove and leave the old one near the garbage area. Not McDermott!! Mike was extremely efficient, finished the job in less than two hours by himself and cleaned up everything as if nothing had ever happened in the basement! He wrote up the invoice showing me all of the charges and discounts and explained the warranties. Totally a professional if I ever saw one. I had other plumbing questions which Mike listened to and gave me great options. We will definitely use McDermott Plumbing again!! Patii K. PS- He's getting married on Saturday! Congratulations!!
