The project did not start off well due to McDermots missing a 3 hour window (noon to 3pm) and not calling me to say they would be late. I had other appointments scheduled for that evening. Several phone calls later, the plumber arrived about 5:30pm. He was very apologetic about his late arrival and not calling. He was professional and got right to work diagnosing the problem. He found the source of the leak and fixed it properly. After testing, he replaced the pieces of drywall. He did give me a big discount to make up for tardiness and lack of communication earlier in the day. The next day, I "mudded" the drywall joints, sanded and repainted the area of the wall affected. It looks great and no more leaks.

Service was excellent and was very professional. He was more than happy to go out of his way to help and answer questions I had about additional things I was checking on getting repaired. Great employee and would highly recommend this company to anyone needing plumbing work done quick and correct. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them. Great job!

It went great. Arrived later than scheduled, but he called to say why. He stayed until the jobs were complete.

Washer was not draining properly - I was impressed that even though it had snowed the day before - he returned my call and apologized for being late in fact offered a discount on services due to the delay. He was able to diagnose the issue and found that the builder did not plumb the drain up to code. He had the parts/pipe on his truck and was able to fix the issue within 2 hours. I was appreciative of the fact that he also put on protectors or shoe covers so as not to track dirt in the house. He honored the Angie List discounts and what would have cost me $250 only cost $180. Overall no problems have been seen since the repair.

The detailed information was furnished in the above area. He crawled under my bedroom floor only available to reach through small trapdoor in bedroom closet.He found the leak and repaired. He also looked at a toilet that needs replaced and suggested how to pick out a new one & he would go pick up and bring to house and also looked at a disposal that had stopped working and advised that it had seized and would need to be replaced. He will be doing these repairs as well for me in the future. I was able to use aNGIE'S LIST 25% discount on my first job and as an Angie's list member, the normal $75 service call was waived. My expectations for this company were certainly exceeded.

The plumbing was successfully reconfigured in a reasonable amount of time and no leaks since. Also got help w/ the faucet set-up.

Overall experience was great. Mike responded to my urgent request by coming onsite within an hour and was able to rearrange his schedule to get the work done. The gas company wouldn't turn on my heat until this was done so he worked efficiently to get it taken care of. The whole work was done within 5 hours of my initial call and I was able to get my gas on that night.

Mike did an incredible job, came out on a Saturday despite his dog having e regency surgery that morning. He fixed my shower on off and temperature control, fixed a leaking pipe in my ceiling and replaced the drain in my shower. I have never dealt with a more professional knowledgable person for house repairs. He was clean did the job right and made sure we understood everything he was doing and why he needed to do it.

Great experience overall. Michael contacted me within 48 hours of my purchase a $99-for-2-hours big deal. He took the time to listen to my list of things that I needed done, and we agreed on a date and time for his visit. On the day of the appointment was able to get in touch with him again and was told that he would be running behind schedule. We he arrived, he again took the time to listen to our needs and immediately got to work with care and skill and got everything done within the prepaid 2-hour window, and even took some extra time to discuss future remodeling projects and give us lots of cost saving ideas. I highly recommend Michael and his company and will not hesitate to use them again.

I took advantage of an Angie's List deal and prepaid $99 for two hours of plumbing work. The plumber (don't think I got his name) arrived within the time promised. He was very professional and courteous. My only issue was with the price. $99 for two hours of plumbing work is a great deal. The problem is that it took 3 hours to install the hardware. I ended up paying an additional $185 for the third hour and a pipe he had to go buy. Seemed kind of high for the additional hour. Maybe this is a normal hourly rate for a plumber. This was my first time hiring one so I wasn't sure. I would probably use them again, just would verify the hourly rate.

From my first call to Mike to the completion of the job, this was one of the best experiences we've had with a plumber. I called on a Sunday evening and he came the next afternoon. Mike called to say he was on his way and arrived at the promised time. He fixed the clog quickly (a $59 Angie's List special), but to ensure that the job was thorough he cleaned the drain. He also recommended that a clean-out be installed to make future maintenance easier. We agreed and he did it for about $80 more. Because of the thorough cleaning and the additional work, Mike was at our house for two hours and the total bill was just $144. He waived the service call fee to meet the $59 special and only charged us the additional $80 for the pipe work. Period. Having recently paid a competitor $278 to repair a leaky shower tap in less than a half hour, I was pleasantly surprised at Mike's business sense and work ethic. As the clock ticked past 5:00, he was still careful to clean up the greasy mess (from the clogged drain pipes) and not track any of it anywhere else. After he left, you couldn't tell he had been there, except the kitchen sinks drained.

I called on a Monday, and was able to set the service appointment for Wednesday of the same week. On day of call, the office called to let me know when plumber would arrive. He came on time, put on booties over his shoes, and I showed him the sink in the Master bathroom that I wanted cleaned. He cleaned this drain and adjusted the stopper on both this sink and the other one in the same bathroom. He also answered a question I had about a dripping showerhead and told me what would need to be done. Drain was quickly cleaned and he was on his way. Drain is no longer sluggish and is again working well.

This service call was fabulous! I purchased one of Angies Big Deals -- 2 hrs of plumbing labor for $99. I had 4 leaking faucets and issues with my gas water tank. Michael McDermott was extremely helpful on the phone when I set up the appointment. He offered to drain my hot water tank at no charge and inspect it. He did that as well as fix all 4 of my leaking faucets within the 2 hours. I expected to owe him for parts for the faucets but when I asked how much I owed him he said 'No Charge' (he was actually here for a bit longer than 2 hours and did not charge me for any extra time)! He gave me a 2 hour window and called me 1/2 hour before he came (within 1/2 hour of window start time). I was extremely pleased with his service and will definitely call him again if I have any plumbing issues! I would highly recommend McDermott Plumbing for service. (A real plus was that he loves dogs! I had my dogs in their kennels and he immediately said it would be fine if they were loose! They loved not having to stay in their kennels for 2 hours!).

This plumbing company was the best one I have ever used, and over the years I've tried several in the Columbus area. The scheduled plumber had a conflict, and so the owner himself came to do the work. He was very friendly, courteous, and professional. He discounted the price of the hot water heater substantially because I'm a member of Angie's List, as well as discounting the price of the replacement valve and waiving the service call fee! I was extremely grateful and very impressed with what a considerate man and professional business owner he is.

Had chosen to use Mcdermott, when went back to Angie's list to look up their number, ironically, a 2 hr Big Deal 2hrs of plumbing had just been listed. I set up my appt for the next day. Chris arrived very punctually and professionally. He performed the services requested, while minimal cost due to our overall plan of bathroom remodeling in this 50yr home. I was quite happy how he did not try to perform any service to increase the cost to me. He understood the request of make the plumbing "functional."

Their outgoing voice mail message said that they respond to all calls within one hour. I never heard from the company after I left a voice mail message requesting a service call.

McDermott's was able to come to my house within a day of me calling them. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. An added bonus was that they waived their service call fee for Angie's List customers, and they also provided a 20% discount (coupon on the Angie's List website). Very happy to find them, and I will definitely use them again, and recommend them to others.

I called them to get a 2nd estimate on the job that was needed. Michael gave me a quote over the phone when I described to him what was needed. We were able to set up an appointment for the next day. He was on time and very professional. I will definitely use them again for any plumbing needs.

Water was seeping through one wall of our basement. We thought a drain to the street sewer must be blocked. We calld McDermott Plumbing after learning about them on Angie's list. They came out the next day and proceeded to snake the drain. They drain could not be opened with the snake and it was determined we had broken pipes. We were apprised of the problem and given a very reasonable cost estimate. We gave the go ahead and even though it was late in the day the two young men worked until the job was completed. My husband inspected the work and found it satisfactory. The problem was solved.

Everything was perfect. They are on our list of who we will call back.

Overall i was very satisfied the plumber that czme out was nezt and very plesant and got the problems fixed quickly. Like the other reviewers said here he wore covers over his shoes which I like because i once had a worker in my home and tracked mess all over the carpet! These guys were on time and real pros and I would and have reccomended them.

My kitchen sink was running slow and I contacted McDermott Plumbing. The owner and his colleague's were very well spoken and I decided to go with them because they took time out of their schedule's to come out to my house on the weekend to fix my problem. When they arrived at the house they were very clean and very eager to help solve our family's problem. We would have waited to have them come out on Monday but we were having family come over and we were desperate and they were more than eager to come help to help our family's enjoy the weekend. We called a few other companies before McDermott Plumbing and they charged an arm and a leg to have their workers come out and service the sink. With McDermott Plumbing they did not charge us a service call to come out. I highly recommend them for any plumbing job to anyone!!!!

They showed up on time and even would wear shoe covers every time they came into my home. They were very professional and helpful in fixing my sewer drain issue. From the first phone call to the end of the job they were excellent. They also were upfront with the cost to fix the problem and (unlike plumbers I have used in the past) they had no extra charges at the end of the job.
