Mike and his team are the absolute best people to work with you could possibly find. Their professionalism, honesty, quality of work and communication are unmatched by any provider of any type I've ever hired. My sump pump died during rain storms this week and I didn't discover that it had flooded my basement until Thursday night July 3rd. I called McDermott Plumbing and spoke to their after hours call person and had a call back from the owner Mike himself within 15 minutes. I should mention he was out of town with his friends/family at the fireworks in cleveland and this was about 745pm and he called me instantly anyway. He was at my house first thing the next morning with a brand new sump pump, verified my old one was dead, found some best practices with the piping that hadn't been followed previously (my check valve was horizontal instead of vertical). They tore out the old sump and piping and had it replaced within 45 minutes. Graciously he only charged me a regular service fee instead of the holiday rate (since it was 4th of july) because we had hired him before for other issues. Minutes after he left the water cleanup crew that was there and I discovered that a toilet on my first floor was leaking into the basement as well. I caught him a few minutes from my home and Mike turned right around checked it out, fixed the issue right then and didn't charge me for it at all even when I initially rebuffed his offer to not charge me for the additional piece of work. I will never use another plumber besides McDermott plumbing, they are the absolute picture of what businesses should be and how to treat customers. He made a very stressful situation dealing with a flooded basement on a holiday weekend just weeks before my wife is due to give birth, a much easier one to handle.

He solved the drainage problem. He was polite, asked permission to use the back door, put shoe covers on when in the house. He cleaned up the area he worked in and moved my washer/dryer back to the original spot. He said his work is guaranteed for 60 days which is reassuring.

I have since repaired the pipe myself. The failure by McDermott Plumbing to return not one, but two calls, is unacceptable. If you are too busy to deal with a new customer, just say so. By the way, the listed website is not in service - lending further to my speculation that this company is no longer viable. Don't waste you time.

Michael was very thorough. He came out as soon as he could to install a new toilet. The flange was broken and needed rebuilt. He installed the toilet with ease, fixed the supply line and when done completely cleaned the bathroom. He is price is excellent and his service is outstanding. d

I called and received an estimate over the phone which was reasonable and scheduled an onsite visit. Work was completed quickly and professionally. I only wanted them to remove a leaky bypass valve, but they were able to go above and beyond and cutout the unnecessary piping making the overall installation look much cleaner.

Chris called to say he was running late, which was nice. When he arrived, I showed him the problem toilets and the area in the basement where the gas line would have to go. He commented that the gas line would have come off the main line further than I had assumed because of an existing line to 2 fireplaces. He proceeded to fix the toilets, making a bit of a mess because of the accumulated dirt in the bottom of the tanks. He looked at the cooktop area and mentioned that I would need a downdraft and that in his experience they don't work very well. When I told him I had a 25% Angie's List coupon, he told me that if I used the coupon it would cost me more--that he was giving me the price of 2 toilet repairs for $300 instead of charging me $179 for each as was normal. Then he added the $59 service call on top of that. I asked about the gas line quote and he told me that I would receive it by email along with my receipt. We are 2 weeks out and I have not received a quote for the gas line.

I called and left a message (3 of the 4 times I called them, I got voice mail) asking to arrange a time for them to complete the aforementioned services. Michael called me back at 7:45 that evening, but, as I was expecting to get a return call during business hours, I didn't have my phone on me and so he left a message. The next morning, I called, got voice mail again, and left another message. At 4:50 that afternoon, Michael called me back. Unfortunately, I just missed that call, so I called back immediately, only to get some woman in the office, who said she couldn't connect me to Michael directly, but said that he would call me back. This game of phone tag ended when he called me back twenty minutes later, at 5:10. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of making dinner for my toddler, who started to cry while I was on the phone. Because Michael and I could hardly hear each other, I asked if he could call back in 10 minutes. He said he would call back at 5:30. That was on May 7th. 8 days later, I still haven't heard back from him, or from anyone at McDermott, and so I've concluded that they are not interested in the business I have to offer.

Mike did a great job installing the new lines for my washer in the basement and moving the utility sink and also removing the gas line for the dryer on my first floor. The estimate was right in line with what I had done and the timing and professional was wonderful. I would highly recommend him.

This company gave us a MUCH better price than two other plumbers. (The price did include an Angie's List discount/coupon.) Michael was honest, fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. He didn't try to sell us unnecessary, additional services and completed the job in a timely manner. We would definitely hire him again and recommend him to anyone with a plumbing issue.

Called to schedule an appointment. Left 2 voice messages and no one has returned my call. After 24 hours of waiting, I have scheduled with another company.

My drain in the basement backed up during a load of laundry. Mike and his crew were able to come the same day and arrived in the time frame they estimated. Mike explained what all they would need to check and do, then carefully explained what they found.They worked efficiently, were able to get it cleared out, and they also cleaned up well afterwards.
