We were fortunate enough to have the owner come out and do the work for us. Michael Mcdermott was extremely professional, punctual and knows his trade. I felt really comfortable and safe with him in the house, as I am really nervous around strangers. We will most definitely use this company again!

Michael performed the work promptly as expected. In addition, he was able to answer my questions to my satisfaction. I would hire Michael again for any plumbing need.

I bought a big deal for this service. I thought it was fine and I thought he was a good service provider. There is one that has kind of reverted back. It was fine when they came out and kind of tuned them up, but there is one that is not working as well anymore. They were very punctual and professional people. I did not have any issues there. It is just one of the units they serviced is not working optimally. I paid more than the price of the big deal because when they came out they asked if we needed anything else and what they did was unclog a slow drain for us. I want to say we paid $50 more than that. I actually thought for doing kind of a toilet tune up that the price was a little aggressive. I also don't think their tune up was a long term fix. I think it was the owner who came out and he was prompt and very courteous. He seemed like a good guy. I would not have any hesitation about working with him again.

Michael was punctual and professional. He did a great job rapidly locating the problem, tearing into the wall and repairing the pipe. He also did a great job cleaning up after his work. He even recommended a great guy to repair the wall

I paid Angie's List the price of $79 for the bas call for McDermott Plumbing to fix a serious leak under my kitchen sink. When I called McDermott, they could not have been nicer, but could not get to me until Thursday of the following week. The gentleman referred me back to Angie's List, explaining they would be able to arrange a refund and hopefully find someone else to help me quickly. Very professional, very nice. So that is what I did. Usually, it is a good sign when a company is very busy. I wouldn't mind trying them again!

Michael McDermott, the owner, was friendly and carried himself in a very professional and personable manner. He was on time within the arrival window he gave me, and he promptly returned all calls. Not once did I have to worry or hunt him down in order to use the Big Deal coupon he was offering to the public -- this was a pleasant surprise, as I've had trouble with contractors who offer these coupons. What a great plumber!

I was so impressed with the professionalism, cleanliness, promptness and follow up. I believe I have found a plummer for life.

I contacted McDermott Plumbing as I was having a problem with the toilet in my downstairs half bath leaking onto the floor in my basement. I received a response within 24 hours and 24 hours later Michael McDermott came and fixed the leak. The entire problem was resolved in less than an hour. I found that he was very cordial and professional and "Yes" I would definitely use them again.

He showed up on time, did the work. One toilet still ran after he left. I called back and he agreed to come back a few days later. He did and I have had no problem since then. A good experience. I will use them again.

A little pricey but fine. I've worked with McDermott before. They are skilled and know the trade.

My garbage disposal quit working. They came out, looked at it, thought that it actually wasn't broken, but was just jammed. Once they used the hex wrench and loosened it, it worked great. He, I think, felt bad that I had spent $79 on an Angie's List deal, so he gave me a hex wrench, showed me how to use it, explained to me how to determine a clog in the drain, and then asked if there was anything else I needed to have looked at! I was thrilled. It took him 10 minutes but he took the extra time to explain the disposal to me. It was an easy service call for him but he was thorough.

Very much appreciated his honesty about what could and could not be done about the sink and washer problems. Asked him to replace the outdoor faucet, which he took care of right away. We will definitely call this company again and would recommend them to anyone.

I was not pleased with them. They were expensive. The price of $425 is too much to replace a wax ring.

Great! The staff arrived on time, explained what they were going to do and set to work. They identified that the cut off valve was on the wrong side (which we had also noticed but the previous owner and HOA swore was correct) and quoted a price of $75 to fix the issue. They also noted that the code for the gas line had changed since 1988 and they quoted a price to repair that as well. They complete all the work within 3 hours and cleaned up after themselves.

We called 20 plumbers on Angie's list and nobody except these guys and another plumber followed through with an estimate and service call; McDermott has a very clear and detailed estimate, and they were consistent in returning phone calls and answering questions. If it weren't for them, we'd probably have canceled our subscription. They were professional, considerate of our 3-yr old's potty needs and nap-time, arrived on time, cleaned their mess, were fairly priced and did good work. Highly recommend them!

I bought a big deal for this service and it went okay. I ended paying about an additional $100 above the price of the big deal. He was not lousy, but he was not an A. I had to reschedule about three times, but that was my fault, not his. Had a little problems connecting getting back together on the phone, what have you, but he was responsive.

McDermott told her they did not recommend trying to fix a 9 year old WH so my wife's sister agreed to have a new on installed. He put in a new gas water heater with electronic ignition, vent blower, etc. It is a 50 gallon unit but at the same price as a 40 gallon. I was not at her home when McDermott did the service and was concerned about what appeared to be a high cost to replace the unit. I called McDermott to question the cost and Mike was nice enough to call me back on a Saturday morning to explain that it cost $1,800 because the original unit was electric (and did not have a gas vent) and the failed unit was a gas version that had a special vent installed out the front of the home due to the conversion to gas. Other than going back to electric he said their only choice was to replace it with a gas WH with blower, etc. Mike also fixed some vent and other issues. Overall I am satisfied with the cost explanation and appreciate Mike getting to me over a weekend.

He reviewed the work I asked to be done before starting the tasks. He worked steadily and completed the work in a timely manner. Following completion, he reviewed what he had done with me and reviewed his charges with me. He emailed me the completed report of work done on the same day. Having it in electronic form facilitated getting this report to my realtor. I was very pleased with this approach. He was knowledgeable, efficient and professional. I would hire this provider again,

I called McDermott Plumbing to look into a problem with a wall next to a shower. The wall has consistently been damp, although the shower hadn't been used for a while. I was concerned that there might be a slow leak. The appointment was scheduled in a reasonable amount of time (a week or so in advance), and Michael arrived on time. After inspecting the wall, and discussing possible causes of the problem, we concluded that it was unlikely to be a leak from the plumbing behind the wall. Michael pointed out several reasons for that conclusion, and we agreed to not proceed with that repair until/unless something changed. However, the night before the appointment another plumbing issue occurred -- a leak in the water supply feeding the icemaker in the kitchen. Michael inspected the problem, suggested a good solution (replacing the old copper tubing with a flexible supply line, and replacing the ancient turn-off valve. He had the parts in his truck, and completed the work quickly. Michael was prompt, professional, friendly, and pleasant to work with, and had not complaints about the unexpected change in the nature of the work I asked him to do.

It went well. Mike took the time to explain new codes to me about the faucets I was not aware of. They were really good tolerating my Cocker Spaniel trying to help! Dog lovers!!

never even got the chance to have the providerII was going to purchase a big deal but wanted to know when they were scheduling out to. I had a issue that wasn't pressing but something I wanted completed in the next 10 days. I called at 9ish in the am I was told I would get a phone call back shortly. At 1 pm, still not hearing from them,I called back and was told that because of todays rain (which didn't start until 11am) they were really backed up and were booking three weeks out. I called another angies list service provider and they were able to schedule me 5 days from now which was fine but was told if I would have called before the rain came today they would have been out here tomorrow! If they could just have been prompt in their phone call return as promised I wouldn't be as frustrated and inconvenienced as I am now.

it went very well - he was on time, they removed the old heater, found out that the drain was clogged and snaked the drain so the old heater could be drained and due to a broken valve to the water heater replaced that. The original cost for the heater was 850.00 and the additional expenses were related to the snaking and cleaning out of the drain and the new valve. They also cleaned up the the area that they worked on.
