I didn't go with this company because I was quite insulted by the response I got from the man who called me back. I left a message on the morning of July 17th stating that I would like an estimate on storm damage removal (my tree had fallen on my neighbor's house) and possible large tree removal due to the bad storm from last week. Later that afternoon, I got a call back and the man started out with something like "let me explain up front...If you are looking for someone with a low price, then we aren't the right company. Cause we don't operate that way." I was quite offended and not sure where that was coming from. I explained that I was waiting on two other estimates from two other reputable companies. A smaller company that was backlogged till next month had recommended McCullough's because they are a larger company and could probably be able to respond quicker because of the emergency. I also explained that I was looking for a company with licensed arborist and a crane because of the work that had to be done. So I am very aware that this job would be costly. I am looking for quality. I am military veteran and have served over 26 years in the service and I really didn't appreciate the assumptions this man make. I will take my business somewhere else and in the future, I will never call this company again.

Excellent service, fast, courteous the even chipped up a pile of brush on the property without me even asking.

Admittedly responses from McCullough to my calls took longer than I liked. McCullough was a bit of work for me but I kept at it. I called a couple companies from Angie's list and left telephone messages that my ash tree was probably infested with the emerald ash borer and I wanted options to decide if I should remove it or keep it. McCullough's is the only company that got back to me. When Stephen was here examining the tree, he gave me good, understandable information. A time frame for treatment was scheduled but no one showed up. I called McCullough and within a few days my ash was treated. I had occasion to call McCullough's this Spring about the ash and Stephen took a look at it and emailed a prognosis. There's still hope.

They were really awesome. It was a really hard job, it was unbelievable. I was very impressed. They were very busy but when they found out about the tree hitting our house and how bad we were hit, they worked us in and came out really quickly. They were all very knowledgeable and kind. They were very neat, they cleaned up after themselves. They were the best. The tree lashed from one end of our house to the other and on the back. A storm was coming and we were trying to find tarps and stuff and I was able to get a big tarp and these guys came in and nailed it all down for us.

The initial consultation was punctual and professional. Options were clearly explained and concerns were addressed. Estimate was decidedly the most expensive of the three companies we got estimates from, but this group was not willing to negotiate. Scheduling was somewhat problematic. They did not follow up on initial verbal assurance to try and provide sufficient advance notice on scheduling. After a couple of rounds of email tag and adjustments for weather we eventually did schedule a mutually convenient date. The work itself was first class. They did a very good job, with requisite care and efficiency. And they cleaned up nicely after the job was done.

I submitted a request for an estimate/consult on their website on a Sunday afternoon and received a call back early Monday morning. The consult/estimate was scheduled within a few days. McCullough's was extremely responsive compared to a couple other tree service companies I contacted. We had 2 Ash trees in our front yard. One was obviously dead and the other was not looking too good. McCullough's was honest with us and told us it would cost about the same to try to treat the dying tree as it would be to cut it down and said that given the ash borer damage, they only gave it a 40% survival rate with treatment. We decided to cut it down. We also had them clear out a bunch of dead trees from our tree line in our backyard (all but 1 were also Ash trees hit by the ash borer). McCullough's estimate was in line with other estimates we received but we were much more impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism there was no doubt we would go with them over the others. We were put on their schedule within 2 weeks of the consultation. The crew arrived on time, they were very professional, completed the work agreed upon, and cleaned up the yard to the point that you would have never known they were there. I would definitely use them again and would recommend to anyone requiring tree service.
