Matthews Irrigation

Did the work as asked… I called and asked for my controller they took out. Dave said he would return it because he thought it was in the truck, I explained I wanted it as a back up. After asking 2 times I got an invoice but he didn’t follow through with returning. I paid all but the cost of buying the controller he took from my house and followed up again. Then followed up once more where he decided to once again argue why what he took wasn’t that valuable and that he would just not do business with me. The condition on the invoice was clear that once they return my controller or one similar I’d pay the other $100… having already paid $500… so apparently im a difficult customer. Follows up by saying how it’s a tight knit group and he will share my contact info to make sure none of his competitors will work on my system. (Obviously this guy has no customer service skills and rather than make this right or even call me… he decides he will fire me and “blackball,” me. Lol Already have him replaced in 2 phone calls but don’t waste your time with someone shady like this. His wife was responsive and pleasant other than sending the invoice 7 weeks later, which again I’m a terrible customer asking to pay my bill. Ha

My experience was terrible. I hired Matthew's irrigation to turn on my sprinkler system. After initial checkup and and testing out all the zones, I was provided an estimate of about $700 to fix some sprinkler heads and valves. They sent an inexperienced crew who left at the end of the day with the solenoid valve open that flooded my backyard. They did not turn off the water valve until it was fixed ,instead advised me to continue using the sprinkler except zone 10. They invoiced me around $895 at the end which was way above the initial estimate , and my sprinklers still do not work correctly. I wasted my money dealing with them.

Had good reviews , so i called them. Unfortunately they never called me back.

Dave was friendly and professional. Came on time and completed all the work on time in the cold weather. I highly recommend their service.

I called them asking for them to come out for an estimate but they are not returning my phone calls and that's not a good customer service.

Dan was very professional, arriving on time, Introduced himself and asked if there were any questions about the irrigation system before he began a check of each station. When he was finished he explained what heads needed replaced and also shared information on a new wifi service for watering that automatically waters based on weather & rainfall taking the guesswork out of when to water. It is now recommended by Delaware County. We've had excellent service from Matthews Irrigation for at least seven years.

Very well. The team worked hard, even though the ground was very muddy. Team leader seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. Answered all questions.

I would grade them an A for everything or, I wouldn't keep using them.

I have used them and I am completely satisfied with them. I think their price is excellent and their customer service is very good. They start up the system in the spring and they shut it down in the fall. They repair any damage to the heads or the lines when it needs to be repaired. I have been in contact with the owner Dave Mathews, he is the one who has come out to do the work.

Very prompt, professional and went out of his way to make sure things were right.

I don't really interact with them they just come out and make sure everything is working and if there is an issue. It's been good. Everything works and they're reliable.

Could not have been more pleased. Dave and his crew are true professionals, they take pride in their work, are very hard workers, and completed the job on time and in the manner promised. The effort they put forth to put turf and landscape beds back to the way they looked before installation was amazing. I highly recommend Matthews Irrigation and cannot imagine any company could do a better job.

Dave Matthews came out to the house after I sent some emails through Angie's list on Friday asking for help with winterization and checking a leak I was concerned might be causing me extra water costs. He was on time at 830a on a Monday AM, winterized my sprinkler system without ever having seen it before, understood exactly how to set off all 9 zones even though I didn't know how to, identified where the leak in my system was and completed this entire service in under an hour, for a great price. On top of this, he was really nice and professional. Thank you! I highly recommend this provider. I will be using Matthews to program and turn on my system in the spring/summer and to fix my leak. What a relief!

We moved into a brand new home in late December, 2014. Wilson Turf was the company providing our landscaping package so we assumed it would be easiest to have them install our irrigation system also. Seemed like a great idea until we got their estimate -- close to $6,000.00. I got on Angie's List to get some other estimates and found really positive reviews of Dave Mattews' company. I contacted both Matthews Irrigation and Rain One for estimates. One issue for our property is the fact that we reside in Jefferson Township and their rigid requirements definitely add to the cost of any system. Rain One's estimate was completely out the roof so we decided to use Matthews Irrigation. What a blessing! Dave is very professional; knows his stuff and is so easy to work with. We were at the mercy of our landscaper as far as installation of our sod and Dave was totally accommodating! He laid all of the tubing prior to the sod being laid. We are still waiting for our front yard to be finished but Dave came out as soon as our back and sides were finished and added the heads and controller. It just went so smoothly!!! We really feel like we were extremely fortunate to have chosen Matthews Irrigation. I would highly recommend Dave for any services he offers!

I love this company and have been using it for about 6 or 7 years. The company is dependable, reasonable and does good work. He might also do lawn aeration and things like that. I don't think he mows the yards or anything. I think he is expanding a little bit and now does the city inspection every spring that has to be done for the irrigation system. He usually does the work himself although he has one other guy .

Dave provided a timely cost estimate for a new irrigation system. He and his crew were punctual, very friendly and carried out the installation professionally. Overall I have been very pleased with the results.

Dave came out and redesigned our sprinkler system that had been poor installed by another company a number of years ago. The system is now providing all the coverage that is need for our extensively landscaped yard. The quality of his work was excellent. Could hardly tell where the lines and sprinkler heads were move. Highly recommend. For all the work that was done I feel the price was very appropriate.

Overall, very good experience and no drama. Very good service and quick response to all questions/ issues/ emails. Everyone with this company/ group seems to be very professional.

Dave arrived on time. He immediately went to work on the back-flow valve. He turned on the water in the basement crawlspace. And then he proceeded to test each of 9 zones and adjust the sprinkler heads. He had to replace 2 of the heads. As he was finishing he noticed a tiny drip on one of the back-flow vales and replaced it. He will submit the paperwork for the back-flow inspection. Dave is efficient, friendly and a really terrific person. I will continue to use his services.

They were very good and professional and marked the sprinklers accordinglyfor the lawn service.

We had stumps removed from one side of our house and new landscaping added to the other side, so we called Matthews to have our sprinkler system inspected for leaks from the removal project and altered as needed for the new landscaping. Note that we have used Matthews many times in the past and will continue to do so. We left a message with the office and then met with Dave Matthews to go over the details. We did not request an estimate as we felt it wasn't necessary given our past relationship. That was the case here as well. The price was inline with the work performed in our opinion. Dave inspected our system and found no damage from the stump removal project. He did identify several sprayers that needed to be adjusted to be more effective. He then modified our system to accommodate new landscaping by removing one sprayer and adding two sprayers in new locations. He also repaired a neighbor's sprayer and rehung our rain sensor. The work took 2.25 hours to complete and included 11 new parts plus wiring. The invoice provides a detailed breakdown of the parts and their prices. We look forward to our next project with Matthews.

Overall, it was a high quality installation done by a great team for a great price -- what more can you ask for! I would highly recommend them for installation and maintenance. Dave Matthews concentrated on the lawn piping, Jason primarily worked on the plumbing and electrical work and three other helpers rounded out the crew -- installation took a full 2 days. This is a small company and the pride in their work really shows. Dave is a very trustworthy and sincere person who strives to get everything done right. Jason had a high attention to detail to make sure that the control panel and plumbing not only worked right, but looked great -- I knew he was a detail guy when I saw him using a level to insure the conduit for the controller wiring was level. I had three estimates -- two had good prices and two had 5 year P&L warranties, but ONLY DAVE HAD BOTH. Dave also did NOT require a down payment and accepts credit cards for payment upon completion. The only negative was that they nicked my Time-Warner cable TWICE in spite of it being well marked and me making a specific point to be careful with it -- I had to have it replaced. Dave of course was very apologetic about it (one of the less experienced crew did it). Also, the lawn was torn up more than I had expected. Not a big deal, just more than I anticipated (part of the damage was due to the fact that the soil was dry at the time). They did do a great job of tamping the sod back down and did not leave it looking like "mole tunnels". About two weeks have gone by and the lawn is already healing up pretty well. Again, overall (1) High quality, (2) Great team, (3) Great price. I really prefer doing business with these smaller outfits -- you get such great people who are highly motivated to do a great job. I highly recommend Matthews Irrigation.
