MALLARD HEATING COOLING & AIR DUCT CLEANING

Our A/C had been out for some time but we were delaying getting fixed for financial reasons. My parents stated they were coming for a visit and my father, due to his health, is unable to tolerate heat. I called Mallard, specifically the owner, Mr. Lawrence Titus, and he had a service tech to my home within about an hour. The technician was clean, neat, and very professional. A nice bonus was that he did not smoke so in spending time around him I did not have to deal with the odor. The service provided was excellent and quickly completed and the tech was very responsive to questions, providing knowledgeable and courteous answers. The company has changed their name to Air Quality Solutions and their website is AQSOHIO.COM. Their rates are fairly standard for the industry from what I have observed. I see no reason to go anywhere else for service as I can't see how anyone could have done anything better or faster. In fact, I would like to see someone try to do so.

Do not use this firm. The owner, Larry Titus, 614-469-3544, will not take responsibility for the "job gone wrong" and refuses to come to our house to see the full damage and clean 100% of the furnace and house from the chemical which is & has made my family sick on a daily basis when the furnace heat is on. He came out a couple of times but would not remove the white clumps in my ducts. They're not standing behind their products and I'm being lied to. I want the chemicals taken out of my ducts and cleaned off the carpets, furniture on the 1st, 2nd levels & basement cleaned. The chemical is throughout the basement & coated everything. I want to find out how to put Mallard's in the Penalty Box.

They were conscientious about the installation. We got the machine that we wanted, so I think everything worked out ok. I wasn't blown away by the price, but it was about what I expected.

I think this is my 14th year with Mallard-maybe more! Everyone at the company is so friendly, professional and competent. I ESPECIALLY like how, every year, I call Jim to set up my spring and fall inspections and then Chris comes out and takes care of everything. The same people, year after year! They're almost like family now!

He was very helpful. He sat here with his laptop and showed me all the prices and different ways that I could go. I could see everything. It was such a much more open and above board way to do business. Mallard's was originally referred to me by a handyman who said they had done work for him. They came out so quickly and did a great job. I really like their service. Every person that I have dealt with from their company has been top notch.

Arrived on time and took about 5 hours to remove old system and replace with new one. They had problems with the first one installed. They had to go get another one and start over again. It went very good.

I have an old furnace that has makes noises (screeches or groans) off and on. It started again on Thursday night and I could feel panic again not knowing if it was going to last. Looked on Angie's List Friday am and found a comment about Mallard that I was looking for--"here is a co that fixes things instead of selling you a new one". So, I called--Chris was there in a couple of hours and went to work. He pulled out this whole assembly thing and told me I would need a bearing job--he called in and quoted me a price of $269--I was so relieved! He started to work--went out and got parts--came back and kept working (you could tell this was not a "snap" job) and then he had it done. He was so pleasant throughout the whole thing (even heard him whistling a little)! There was no sighing or dramatics just an honest diagnosis and good hard work. Guess where I will call when I do replace this furnace?! Thanks so much.

My A/C was not coming on. I didn't know if the problem was with the A/C, or with the thermostat. I didn't want someone to come out and try to sell me a new A/C if it could be repaired. I looked on Angie's list and this is the first company I found that had feedback about making actual repairs, rather than installing a new unit, or doing yearly check-ups. The man who came out (I didn't get his name) checked out the A/C. It's an older unit. But, he found that the problem was the thermostat. He fixed it very quickly and only charged me for a service call. The charge would have been $89., but I elected to do a yearly maintenance agreement with his company, so they will come back in the fall to inspect the furnace. I was very pleased with the experience. I was able to make the appointment according to my schedule, and he was prompt and professional.

Estimate was a very professional experience. Larry (president/owner) gave me the estimate and was very thorough in his documentation, etc. Was a bit higher than the lowest bid so did not use Mallard for this particular project. Would ask to bid on another project should the need arise in the future.

They actually did a great job very professional and informative. They made sure we knew exactly what they were doing and how long it would take. They were prompt and reasonably priced.

I used Mallard last year, to service the boiler and was very happy with the job they did. They out did themselves this year. Chris came over, diagnosed the problem, got the part very quickly, returned and did the job in a couple of hours. I would recommend Mallard to anybody.

The worker did arrive within the hours they said. He answered most of my questions, although he didn't have answers for everything. He seemed to work quickly.

The workers seemed knowledgeable enough, although they were not the most careful contractors I have worked with. They showed me the debris that was removed by the process & I have been sneezing less since I had the ducts cleaned. On the negative side, the actual workers arrived an hour later than what the home office indicated & the process took twice as long as the home office said it would. I think this is because one of the workers left for about one hour.

Larry Titus answered many questions for us during several phone calls over a two to three week period while my wife and I checked through the 'LIST' for the company we wanted to do the work. Another employee of Mallard's actually replaced the evaporator coil, and did a good job. The price was the best that we came across and the only disappointment was that the man came later in the morning than we remember being told that he would.

Efficient and friendly. I appreciate that, this company does not require a maintenance agreement.

IT IS FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED, AND THEY ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. THEY WERE ABLE TO UPDATE THE HEATING IN A VERY OLD HOUSE. WE ARE ACTUALLY SAVING SO MUCH PER MONTH IN BILLS THAT THE SERVICE IS REALLY WORTH IT.

Workers were on time & pleasant. However, the company did not honor the 10% off for the service, claiming it was not applicable to this job; which I felt was a little cheap of them. In the future, I would have them provide me with an estimate based upon their Angie's coupon. Also, I had to go to the internet to obtain an owner's manual since one wasn't offered.

VERY EXCELLENT. VERY PROFESSIONAL, ''SIZED THE HOUSE'' ACCORDING TO MODERN STANDARDS (MANUAL J), ON TIME, ON BUDGET. NO SURPRISES. CLEANED UP PERFECTLY. OTHER LEADS BY ANGIE WERE NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD IN PROVIDING ESTIMATE. 4 STARS!!!!

PRICE WAS QUITE REASONABLE AND THIS IS A VERY PROFESSIONAL, FAMILY OWNED OPERATION.

WE SIGNED A SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH THEM. THEY ARE VERY PROMPT, FRIENDLY, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL.

THEY HAVE GOOD FOLLOW UP AFTER THE SERVICE.

WITHIN 2 HOURS AFTER HE LEFT, HE HAD CHECKED THE WAREHOUSE TO BE SURE THE CORRECT FURNACE WAS IN STOCK AND BY THAT EVENING, I HAD HEAT. THIS WAS THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS EVE. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE WAY THEY CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. THE ONLY DOWNFALL IS THAT THEY DO NOT REALLY WORK ON THE WEEKENDS. THEY DO, HOWEVER, DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN VERY QUICKLY TO BE SURE YOU HAVE HEAT. THEIR PRICE IS GOOD.

I THOUGHT THEY JUST PROVIDED ME WITH EXCELLENT WORK. THEY CAME RIGHT OUT AND GOT THE JOB DONE AND CLEANED UP SO WELL THAT YOU COULDN'T TELL THAT ANYTHING WAS EVEN DONE. THEY HAVE MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
