arrived on time...pleasant....provided estimate for additional work...painting completed on time and quality of work was very good.

I gave my list to Brian, the owner over the phone, and again in an e-mail. I told him that I had months worth of work on the new house, and simply wanted the project kick-started. I asked him to pick from the list the things he could do within the allotted time. The list had a variety of jobs, some of which were bigger and smaller than others. He did not ask for specifics on any of the jobs, and said he would look at the house and decide which jobs to do when he came. When he came, he brought two guys with him. He didn't tell me on the phone that he was going to do this, which I think is only good business to let the customer know what to expect. I had read other reviews so I knew that it could happen, so I wasn't too surprised. Two workers means that there was actually only four hours of work from each worker, and they worked on both projects together. A lot of of the time, one worker was waiting for the other worker. Sure, some things need more than one person to do, but with only two jobs, they couldn't each work on a project and come back and work together when two people were required. Brian chose two things from the list, and said there would not be enough time to do more, but if they did have more time, they would choose the next thing then. He decided they were going to demolish / remove a large mirror off the mantle and install one thing on the list. I thought that was a small amount to do in eight hours, but he was already here, and decided to go ahead and start. This wasn't a big of a deal as I thought, but it was at least the same amount I would pay elsewhere. He left the two guys to do the work. It turns out that the guys did not know how to do the installation. They tried, undid things, redid things, tried again and again, until finally they decided to call him in the afternoon. He came, started the job, and asked for more money. He said that since I was actually getting so many more hours (of three men), I should pay more. At this time, the project was half undone, and I didn't want to leave it that way. I reluctantly agreed to pay for the remainder so he would finish the job. He stayed and finished the job the two men had started. Brian knew what he was doing, paid attention to detail and did a great job. The men had put away their tools, so they had to keep going back to the truck to take things out, taking even more time. Overall, they stayed many more hours than we had expected. The finished quality of the job was very good. There were some things the men had done that was not fixable by him. It's not a perfect job, but he did the best he could under the circumstances. I am glad he took the time to do things right. I expected to get a Big Deal, but I wound up paying more than the regular price that other contractors were charging. Since he had a large list to go from, he should have chosen jobs that his men knew how to do. I had plenty of other things that could have been done if the things on that list were not enough. The F for price is because our agreement was for him to do $391 worth of work and not exceed that amount. He got to choose the items and it turned out to be much more. The F for punctuality was for staying much later than expected, even though they did arrive on time.

I provided Brian with a list of items per his request that I had hoped he could accomplish with the whole day's worth of services I purchased. The list included, replacing 4 fluorescent light fixtures, installing two replacement faucets in our bathroom, fixing a leaking outdoor faucet and removing and patching holes from electrical wires to some old garden lighting. My 22 year old son was home for the day and reported that Brian and his partner were very professional and worked steadily. When I got home from work I found that the light fixtures had been put up and the faucets had been installed. Brian needed to go out and buy some additional parts for the plumbing under the bathroom vanity and he had completed that work. Brian left me a modest additional bill for the parts he bought and for some additional time he spent on the job. He did not complete the fix of the leaking outdoor faucet or the electrical wires to the garden lighting. The work that was completed was done professionally and they cleaned up after themselves very well. I contacted Brian and I have asked him to return to complete the two jobs he didn't finish (for an additional fee).

I emailed Brian about my project-- hanging drywall on the ceiling and three walls of my 12 X 9 laundry room-- at 11 p.m. and he emailed me back within the hour. That's pretty amazing. We spoke the following morning and he quoted me a price for the project that was considerably higher ($500) than I was expecting. The sticker shock scared me away from even hanging drywall. This should not be taken as a reflection of the quality of Brian's work, or his prices in general. I was simply unprepared to pay what he quoted me.

Make a List Handy Man Services called me several times to make sure that I had an appointment scheduled which I thought was very good. The work went well.

Great experience. Brian and Jeff arrived on time and went right to work. Jeff is amazing at drywall repair -- the best I've ever seen. Brian helped me with things I did not even contract for and gave me estimates for new work I am hoping to get done soon. Great guys; great service. Will definitely use again.

Make a List Handy Man Services was excellent. It went really well and he did a great job. Once I bought the groupon, they got hold of me, they rang me, so that was really nice. They got it scheduled right away within a week, and it was done and it was pretty easy. They did cancel the first appointment, and I had taken a vacation day, so I was at home for a cancelled appointment, which annoyed me because I had used a vacation day, and they weren't able to make it. So I had to take another vacation day to actually get it done. They were really apologetic about it, and, I guess, if somebody's sick, they're sick, but it did annoy me. He did leave me a message the night before, around 8.30, on my phone to say that they wouldn't be there the next day, but I didn't get the message until the next day. So he did try to let me know, but I didn't check my messages until the next day. I had the sections of drywall in, so they just had to be taped, sanded, and a finish coat put on. The job is really nice.

It was excellent, he did a great job. They responded quickly to my initial call. They got it scheduled within a week and they got it done. From the moment that Jeff introduced himself to me to or last farewell, I was comfortable and confident. The professionals at Make A List Handyman bought a level of extreme courtesy and expertise to the project. They made sure that I knew what steps would be taken to cure the problem and the expense that would be involved. And they were meticulous in removing the debris and cleaning the dust. I have a home that was built in the early 1930's and you can be sure that I will keep the Make A List Handyman number on speed dial. My only regret is that I did not know them at the onset of this problem.

They did fine. They did a good job on the kitchen. We weren't completely impressed with the upstairs.

Jeff, the drywall repairman, arrived on time and did a marvelous job repairing the drywall in the alotted time. I was very impressed with how much he accomplished. He was very polite, personable, and professional. I will use this service again for drywall repair, and for other handyman services.

These guys are great! They worked within our schedule and deadline to make all repairs needed before the painters came in. The walls look like new which is not easy in a house that was built in 1956. The ceiling fix was not easy. Make a List did an absolutely fantastic job repairing that ceiling and put in the extra effort to make sure that it lasts. I strongly recommend Make a List for your drywall needs.

Arrived on time, ran into problems with the fans (previous fan had been installed incorrectly). He had to go get another part, and then came back and replaced the fans. He did a great job, explained everything and then hung the mirror. I'd use him again.

I had a rescue dog for a short time that developed a taste for drywall. I bought the deal for drywall to repair the damage and also had a few spots that needed to be smoothed out. I received a call from the owner Brian within a few hours of making the online purchase. I was amazed at how quickly he contacted me. When I didn't call him back by the next day he once again called, he also sent an email. When we did connect he scheduled me in the very next week. Their drywall expert came exactly when he was scheduled. Not only did he do the work I needed he found extra places that needed to have "mud" and be smoothed out. He stayed until everything was done and even cleaned up beautifully. I am very impressed with this company and will absolutely use them in the future!

The painter was very professional. The work is absolutely beautiful and I could not be happier.

Contacted Brian for estimate to paint (15,000 sq ft.) our fence. He came out that day and stared Fri and finished by Sunday. He did an excellent job and price did not go past estimate.

I purchased the Big Deal through Angie's List for the 3 hours of drywall repair on 2/27/13. I received a call from Brian on 2/28/13 to schedule the work for the next day, 3/1/13. Jeff arrived on 3/1/13 in the time frame that Brian said he would, and did a fantastic job. Jeff was very friendly and even stayed longer than the 3 hours, which was much appreciated.

Showed up timely. The painter was professional, moved furniture, painted bedroom, put furniture back in place. Did a nice job! I would use this company again. .

The guy that came out was very friendly. He saw a mess that he didn’t even make and swept it up. I have been very pleased them them.
