Overall, these guys did an excellent job. They were there when they said they would be and did a great job. They were so good that after they were done and cleaned up that we hardly noticed they had even been here, except for the excellent work that they did. Excellent job and I will be more than willing to hire them again on another project we need done.

Moyer & Sons was just excellent. They're a family operation and they are just wonderful. It's a father and son and it's very thorough work. They are very conscientious, clean, and punctual. They are hard workers. I was going to use them for some other project but I ran out of time and money. It was a beautiful job. Mr. Moyer has been doing this for over 30 years and he's just something at what he does.

Mr Moyer repaired a hole in a plaster ceiling for us caused by a water leak. He gave us an accurate estimate and completed the work for that price. The ceiling is plaster and had areas where it was coming away from the lathe. He was able to salvage much of the plaster and repair the hole using drywall, matching the original texture. We were extremely happy with the work and the price. We were so pleased that three weeks later when we had additional water damage to a second ceiling we immediately called him to do this repair. He had his son and another worker do this job and we were just as happy with their work and the price for this second job. This repair was a little more extensive and ran $225.00.

We had just had some ceilings replastered (in our 106 yr old house, it was time to get things smooth again). We also hadn't had our trim painted in probably 15 years. In both jobs, they went the extra mile, used the best products and techniques, and did a top quality job. They were also the most lovely people. Couldn't be happier all around!

Mr. Moyer came to my house promptly after giving him a second call to do an estimate for the work desired. He was extremely friendly and thorough when completing the estimate. His bid was the most reasonable and he had great reviews on here, so I hired him to start the following week. He was supposed to start Wednesday morning, however, he was held up at another job and couldn't come with his crew until around 2pm. Mr. Moyer, his son and another worker arrived and were friendly and got started promptly removing the wallpaper. They left around 530p. While getting ready for bed, I noticed that the trim and floor joints (out about 4 inches from the wall on my pergo floor) seem to have gotten some water/moisture on them, which left them swelled and bowed in the area in which they had worked that afternoon. I immediately put a call in to Mr Moyer to discuss what I was seeing. To say the least, I was distraught and upset by the damage. He called early the next morning and said he would take a look when he got there, but he had never had something happen as I was describing in his 30 years of doing the job. Overnight, the seams of the floor went down slightly, but the trim was still clearly damaged. This was in only about a fifth of the area to be removed and painted, so as soon as they got here, I asked that they do everything they could to prevent it happening for the rest of the time. I was planning on replacing the few pieces of trim myself at a cost of about $20 and my husband doing the labor since neither of us knew it would get damaged from moisture.They doubled up on drop cloths for the rest of the job, and I thought it was strange that they didn't tape down any plastic or some sort of more effective moisture barrier but I figured they were professionals and knew what they were doing, so I didn't say anything. Well, the next morning after the majority of the paper was down, I could see that almost every other piece of trim in the great room and kitchen had been effected and damaged by the water mixture. It wasn't as bad as the first section but still very noticeable. When they were packing up on the first Friday, I went to the kitchen sink and noticed that the only blind they didn't take down was wet and everywhere the water was resting, my custom wood blinds were cracking and the paint was pulling up. I called one of the guys over to show him as I was wiping up what I could and he just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know how that happened. The blinds were ruined and all because they were not taken down for some reason. On Monday, they should have been finished with the job since it was the fourth day, but they had just started to patch the walls where that were damaged, so my husband and I decided to talk with Mr. Moyer about the damaged trim and blinds. We pulled him aside and told him that we found the trim for a very reasonable price and that we would do the labor of putting it all in if he paid for the trim (cost of about $45). He said, "It's not our fault that the trim is made of cardboard." I was stunned and starting to get very upset. I explained we didn't put the floor and trim in, and we were ready to replace the first section ourselves but thought it's fair and reasonable for him to replace it since the rest of the room was damaged as well, even after discussing the issue with him and the crew. He shook his head and said "fine" very short. I then mentioned the blinds and how they were warped and the paint was peeling from the water mixture getting on them. He said very shortly, "well what do you want me to do about it?" I, again shocked at the way he was talking to us, told him I wanted to be reimbursed for replacing the custom wood blinds. He put his hands up in the air and said fine again and walked away. At this point I was FUMING and nearly had them pack up and leave right then. Things were very awkward for the rest of the day with Mr. Moyer..From that point on, Tuesday and Thursday went well and they finished painting on Thursday afternoon. I pulled Mr. Moyer aside to let him know that I had found almost the identical blinds online for $48 to replace the kitchen one that was damaged. Thinking that he'd be relieved since we had priced others out at a few home improvement stores for well over $100, I was dismayed when he proceeded to tell my husband and I that he only saw damage to two of the slats in the blinds and not all of them. I knew by this time that he was basically insinuating that they were damaged before they started to work. I explained that there was damage down both sides along the path of the pull strings and offered to show him all of the damage. In no way would I ever want to cheat someone out of $48?!?! It again was awkward for the remaining few hours they were there on Thursday and I was absolutely fuming for the rest of the night.Mr. Moyer said that they had about an hour and half left of work for Friday that mainly included cleaning up. They came late in the morning and finished up a few small details. Mr. Moyer was very friendly and happy on Friday which almost swayed posting this review. However, after thinking it over, everything that happened before Friday needs to be reported. Overall, the work performed was decent; It wasn't the best and it wasn't the worst. There are certainly spots on the wall that I feel were not properly sanded before being painted. The biggest thing that bothered me about the actual work is that during the quote meeting, I asked about priming before panting and he said it'd be done but he preferred to use his own primer. That being said, they did NOT prime the walls before painting, except for the spots that were repaired. I'd like to say that Mr. Moyer's son Marshall and his friend/worker Dave were very friendly and funny the entire time. They did the majority of the work because Mr. Moyer was attending to his wife that was ill. I empathized with that problem and didn't cause any fuss about it taking 7 days instead of 4. Mr. Moyer himself was friendly and kind most of the time, except for the times that we had to discuss the damages and reimbursement with him; it's like he became a different person. Another very irritating aspect of the process was that the crew didn't show up until after 10am every day. Some days they were here until almost 8pm. Had them come early, I wouldn't have had to be holed up in the basement all day and night.

The above describes start to finish.I have used him many times and plan to do so in the future.He has done work for me at two different address'es.

Called and got an answering machine. Left a request for a call back requesting a quote. Never got a call back.

This just couldn't be better. Worked constantly, texture plaster, matched paint. First rate at a moderate price. Cheerful, outgoing, conscientious workers.

FANTASTIC! Mr. Moyer and co. work hard, and do beautiful work. My living room walls were extremely lumpy, and very ugly and my closet upstairs was full of holes and crumbling plaster. Mr. Moyer and co. skimmed both rooms and they look better than I could have imagined! It puts the rest of my house to shame. They are also all extremely nice people and an absolute pleasure to work with. They are really a jolly bunch and clearly have a great deal of pride in their work! Mr. Moyer also patched a hole in one of my ceilings left after I had removed a ceiling fixture. He was quick, fun to talk to (he even showed me how to patch plaster!) and it looks like there was never a hole in my ceiling! I would highly recommend them and will be using them for all my plastering needs! Best people to work with, EVER! Thank you to all three of you!!!

Mr Moyer arrived on time and completed the work on time. I gave him a 'B' instead of an 'A' because the amount he quoted on the phone was less than what he billed me for. I recommend ensuring the quote is clear to both parties before starting work.

Mr. Moyer called me back about the job the same day I left a message and arranged to come out the next day to give me an estimate. We decide to go ahead and have the job done on a Friday and we were able to have Mr. Moyer and his son come to do the job on Monday and Tuesday. I was very pleased with the work that they did and appreciated their flexibility in acccomodating my schedule. The job ended up taking longer than expected, but Mr. Moyer just charged me the estimated amount.

I contacted Moyer & Son for an painting estimate for our company. After speaking with him, I realized he was very skilled and had a professional attitude and appearance that stood out from the others. Although my company went with another contractor, I hired Mr. Moyer for a wall in my home, that was beyond any repair I could not tackle, we had removed some tiles from drywall and the wall didn't fair well, it needed skimming, and Mr. Moyer is the guy! Melvin arrived right on time, smiling and whistling! My Husband Jerry said Melvin patched the holes and replaced bad areas. He then put the coating on, and made it look simple. I guess he has been doing it for years and it is second nature. In the afternoon his son Marshall who like his Dad is a total professional came by and applied another coat. The wall looked amazing even though it had to dry. Mr. Moyer came back to sand the wall smooth, and it is now ready to paint. Wonderful job done! I will have Mr. Moyer back to skim coat another wall and ceiling cracks. I just want to say that this Father and Son company are honest, skilled, and reasonable in pricing. I have recommended them already, and really happy to find a company that is local, and has a family working together like the old school days. Thanks Mr. Moyer and Marshall hope to see you soon! When I called for an estimate, Mr. Moyer came out to my home promptly and even advised me on what kind of paint to purchase. I was on a tight time schedule and needed a room painted within a few days. He was able to accommodate my schedule. Mr. Moyer and son Marshall arrived on time and set to work: They were efficient, professional, courteous and finished on time -- Excellent job! We are very pleased and would definitely use them again.

It was affordable, and he runs a family business. He did a superlative job. He paid attention to detail and we were very happy with the results.

Mr Moyer and sons were very polite, punctual and super nice! They pride themselves on doing it right. We would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them! For those that complain that it is dusty, yes it is. It is worse than having our hardwood floors redone. But that is because of how fine the plaster dust is. They did a great job cleaning up, but it still goes everywhere :)

Mr. Moyer is truly a professional and did such a great job repairing the damage. During the process, I had one area that required drywall over an area that was to cover the pipes coming from the upstairs sink. He noticed a drop of water on the drywall and I had to have plumber come out to repair the water leak under the sink. It was such a subtle leak, but definitely needed repair prior to completing the job which could have caused more damage down the road if not detected. He did an excellent clean up job as well once he completed the work.

Mr. Moyer was thorough and professional. He patched up areas and nicks in the walls, left no dirt or wet areas, and cleaned up after himself impeccably.

From the phone call to cleaning up, this guy is great at what he does. I left him alone to do his magic. Will recommend to my friends!

Melvin came out to perform a walk through for quote, and he brought his son Marshall. They were both professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The works was scheduled for about two weeks later and they came in as scheduled and got started. They also brought another helper, Dave, who was also very friendly. They worked hard, but even so the job took almost three days rather than the two they expected - part of this was because after the second day I gave them quite a hit list! It's not that they hadn't done a good job, but it so happened that the two days at the beginning of the job were on Thursday and Friday - and this left me all weekend to look over the job in great detail! When we presented Melvin with the list on Monday morning, he took it in stride and completed the job and re-work. Upon doing the final walk through he explained that most of the items on the list had been slated for the final day anyway. Bottom line is, for the price listed, I got roughly 9 man days of work, by a very easy going, yet hard working crew. The quote came in substantially lower than the other three I received, and was the most responsive. Well worth the money, and I will definitely use Melvin in the future!

Great job! Very satisfied with work done and reasonably priced. Will hire again.
