First, the associates at the store were less than helpful. When I was shopping for my floors, they seemed more interested in standing around and talking to each other than they did on informing me about flooring. I wanted them to "sell" me floors by informing me about options, durability, and install costs. Even after probing them for this information, I got nothing. Poor salesmanship. Eventually I made a selection of flooring based upon price. This price was supposed to be a big holiday special. It is always the price. Do not be fooled by their big holiday "sales", these prices are pretty consistent throughout the year, I have checked back. I asked about installation and was told that they only have one independent contractor that installs your floors. So much for choice. I decided to use Dante and his crew to install the floors. It was going to be around two dollars a square foot plus materials and delivery fee. The total for the installation was going to be about 2500 dollars. Dante sent out a subcontractor. It was a gentleman with a thick African accent and another gentleman that looked less than reputable. In fact, when my wife stopped in to check on them on day one, disreputable was poking around in the basement, there was NO work being done in the basement. I did all the prep work on the floors by removing all the carpeting, leveling the floors and painting with killz. All they do was come install the floors. The first day they made really good progress and got a few rooms halfway done but, my wife came in and they had clogged the toilet and left it that way, the whole house stunk. The second day their progress was much much slower for no discernible reason. I had tools come up missing from my basement. When the job was done, there were large gaps around the heating vents they filled with brown caulking. They did not do the transitions correctly because the transitions that Dante instructed me to purchase they did not know how to install. I had a fight with them a couple of different times on how they were doing things because I checked on them daily. They chipped my floor in multiple places during the install, while the seams were tight they achieved those tight seems by damaging the floor in several places. I was able to compromise with Dante on the cost of the install but, I would never purchase anything from lumber liquidators again, and I would certainly never use Dante's install services for anything.
Description of Work: I bought laminate for the whole house and used their "independent installer" to install the floor.

The entire process couldn't have gone better. I like to live with work a few months before I write a review. The floor still works great and we are still very pleased with the end result. We wouldn't hesitate to contact Lumber Liquidators again about another project.
Description of Work: We purchased bamboo flooring from Lumber Liquidators. We have a 2100 sq ft home and put the bamboo flooring on our entire 1st floor (except for a small 1/2 bath) and our upstairs hallway. 1GR, a separate installation company did the installation and we have written a review for them. Lumber Liquidators provided many facts regarding flooring and never pressured us to buy; it took many months for us to make the decision and they were always helpful and polite. In the middle of the install, an additional threshold was needed and Lumber Liquidators got it right away.

They were excellent. They were very helpful and it was a great experience. They explained the difference between different types of woods and what would work better for us. They also delivered the product and put it where I wanted them to.

My experience was only with purchasing and receiving Bellawood hardwood flooring from the Columbus, Ohio Lumber Liquidators. I installed the hardwood flooring myself. Overall, it was such a terrible experience that I will NOT use Lumber Liquidators in the future. Ordering Process ============== The ordering process was no problem since I did a lot of research on size and type of hardwood floor required. I called the store and confirmed amount of sq ft and trim pieces. There was nothing out of the ordinary and advice was consistent with my planning estimates. Order Delivery ============== This is where major problems surfaced. One week after ordering, I received an email indicating the hardwood was available for pickup. Apparently, the email originated from somewhere other than the local Columbus Lumber Liquidators store. When I called the store, I was informed the wood was still not available. Two weeks after ordering, I received a call from the local store indicating the wood was available for pickup. I called the store two days later to confirm the wood was in their warehouse before I went through the hassle of renting a truck. The person said they would physically check to make sure it was available. Several minutes later, yes it was available for pickup. I rented a truck for pickup. After I arrived at the store, I was told to pick the wood up at their receiving dock. The person handling my order had no clue where the wood was stored within the warehouse. He proceeded with an exhaustive search, which included movement of many pallets of wood. It took nearly 45-60 minutes to find 13 boxes of hardwood. During this time, the person was picking the hardwood boxes (not pallets, but the individual hardwood boxes) up with a forklift! The underside of the boxes were completely gouged and damaged by the forklift. On numerous occasions, the person brought wrong boxes of wood to my truck. Over half of the 13 boxes were previously opened and planks were rearranged. It was difficult to tell whether the correct amount of wood was in each of those boxes. I also wondered if different speices of wood may have been mixed into the boxes. After seeing this crazy situation unfold, I was totally prepared to eat the cost of the rental truck, reject the delivery, and request a refund. I eventually agreed to accept the wood on the conditions that an extra box of wood be provided free of charge and if I encountered problems with the wood, they would and quot;make it rightand quot;. Material Quality ============== During self-installation of the hardwood floor, I discovered many planks with manufacturing defects. The defects looked like symmetrical circles that may have been created with a plunger tool used to pick up the wood during the staining or finish process. Those pieces could not be trimmed into smaller planks and were totally unusable. I also discovered many planks that were not milled to the correct width. Although we acclimated the wood in the room of installation for 7 days (with consistent temperature and humidity), many of the planks contracted/shrunk three months after installation. Some of the gaps between planks exceeded 1/8 inch. Based on accurate installation with moisture barrier and environmental conditions, this leads me to believe the wood was not dried to spec during manufacture. Overall Assessment ================ Based on my experience with Lumber Liquidators, I cannot recommend them as a hardwood floor supplier. In fact, I would not install their hardwood flooring if it were provided free since their lack of quality is glaringly apparent in our living room.

They are very knowledgeable. They walk you through the different kind of flooring options they provide. They help you decide what would be the best for your situation or what you are trying to accomplish. The price is very competitive, especially if you get products on sale; it's an excellent price! Much less that what we saw with other providers. It is very low keyed; not a lot of pressure. They let you take samples home. Overall it was a very good experience. They weren't necessarily trying to push you in one direction or the other. They just helped you learn the pros and cons of each product.

Good except they have poor customer service, after the product is purchased they have poor follow-up in providing backordered material. We had the installer scheduled three weeks in advanced and we had to become a nuisance to the supplier and they finally fedexed the missing pieces in time for our project, which should have been done at the beginning.

My wife and I traveled around Columbus to other flooring stores before deciding on Lumber Liquidators. We compared wood product selection, price and friendliness of staff. Price for flooring they where about $.40 higher than the competition. Then we compared the steps and risers their price was about $30 lower than their competitors. We saved about $300 on the steps and risers and paid about $60 more for the flooring in the end we saved $240.
Description of Work: They had the best selection and Brian Denny the store manager was very knowledgeable and worked with me all the way through the purchase of 3 1/2" Red Oak Bellawood flooring with steps and risers pre-finished.

Experience has been fabulous. got a high quality flooring product for a low price, service is outstanding. Brian the manager, along with Stephanie and Steve are exceptionally friendly even on an incredibly hectic day. I HIGHLY recommend going in during the week (M-Th) as the weekends there are insane and you'll be waiting a while.. Delivery of some items from central warehouse can take a while if they have it back ordered.
