Lannis Fence

My wife and I have recently adopted a new dog. This lead to our decision to fence in our back yard. We solicited quotes from various companies. Because we live in an older, historic neighborhood we wanted to make sure that the quality and workmanship would be excellent. We finally decided to go with Lannis despite the fact that they were the most expensive. We were crossing our fingers that the fence would meet our expectations Communications with Lannis was excellent. They promptly returned all of our calls. When they incurred scheduling problems due to weather, etc they contacted us immediately to keep us up to date on their progress. The entire fence was installed in two working days. It looks phenomenal and has exceeded our expectations. The quality of workmanship and the quality of materials is A+. After each day, they cleaned up the work site. No discarded wood or nails were found anywhere on our property. We have received many positive comments from all of our neighbors. We highly recommend Lannis.

We are looking to have a fence installed in our backyard to separate our pool area from the grassy area of the backyard for the safety of small children. After choosing Lannis Fence because they appeared to offer the nice fencing we were looking for, I called and scheduled an appointment to get estimates and schedule the work to be done asap. Craig Storch came out at our agreed upon appointment time, we discussed what we need, he did some measuring and said he would email a quote and follow-up via phone call. He did neither of these. I called and left a message for him several weeks later and it was not returned.

Showed up on time (early) but was unable to offer service.

Experience with sales was positive. Easily showed us the difference between the top-quality no-knot cedar fences they install and other products available. Handled marking property lines and other utility markings needed for installation (not offered by other companies). Scheduling installation took several weeks, but to be expected at the height of the season. Worked around existing tree that grows into neighbor's yard beautifully. Installation took 1 day and we are very pleased. Cedar smells great when it rains!

After failing to get another well known fencing company to even return my call, Lannis got back to me quickly and came out to see me within 3 days. They gave me a reasonable quote and I had my new fence in 5 weeks. After a while had passed I decided I wanted to fence in more of the yard and the sales rep came out to see me the next day and I will have more fencing installed in 3 weeks.

The salesman (Larry Stone) was on-time and helpful in explaining their work and my options. The price was good. The estimate on when the work would start was very close to the actual start date. The installers were great. They worked quickly, and cleaned up well after digging the post holes. I am very pleased with the resulting fence.

They had the fence finished about a week after they marked off of the fence. The fence is beautiful, level, they cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely use them in the future and would recommend them to others! The gentleman that came out told us we could call him at any time, and even offered suggestions on how to stain the wood. Overall it was a great experience. They are really concerned with their customer satisfaction.

Price was very reasonable, they arrived promptly, and cleaned up well. We are very satisfied.

SOLD ME TOP OF THE LINE FENCE. IT WAS A BRAND NEW FENCE. I THOUGHT THEY WOULD BUILD IT LIKE I WANTED. THEY DIDN'T. IN THE BEGINNING, THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR APPOINTMENT THAT I CONFIRMED. WHEN THEY SHOWED UP, THEY DIDN'T HAVE A MOWER. THEY USED MINE, AND BROKE IT. SINCE THEY BUILT THE FENCE, THE POST HAS DEEP CRACKS. THEY WON'T REPLACE THEM UNLESS THE CRACK IS COMPLETELY SPLIT THROUGH. 4 BOARDS FELL OUT OF THE DIVIDER FENCE and GATE. ONE POLICEMAN, TWO HANDYMEN AND ANOTHER FENCE BUILDER SAID IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SCREWED TOGETHER. THE SAMPLE BOARD THEY SHOWED ME HAD NO GROOVES, MINE DO. THE SIDE BOARDS ARE PINE NOT CEDAR. HE DID AGREE THE HEIGHT OF THE FENCE ALLOWED NO PRIVACY. HE AGREED TO PUT UP LATTICE. HE TOOK OFF WITH ALL OF MY BOARDS (THAT WERE LEFT OVER). THE GATE IS BENDABLE. THE HARDWARE WAS PUT ON INCORRECTLY.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE FENCE. THE FENCE IS VERY STRAIGHT AND SECURE. THE ENTIRE FENCE WAS INSTALLED IN 2 DAYS BUT I HAD TO WAIT 6 WEEKS TO HAVE IT INSTALLED. THEY HAD SEVERAL OTHER CUSTOMERS THAT WERE AHEAD OF ME. THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE HIGHER THAN OTHERS BUT I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE FENCE.

THE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS WORKING FOR LANNIS TOOK ABOUT TWICE AS LONG AS NECESSARY TO INSTALL THE FENCE DUE TO A VARIETY OF REASONS. THEY LEFT PERMANENT CONCRETE STAINS ON MY DRIVEWAY AND TRASH IN MY NEIGHBOR'S YARDS. AN INNACURATE FENCE PLACEMENT CAUSED A SERIOUS CONFLICT WITH MY NEIGHBOR, AS IT CROSSES HER PROPERTY LINE. RELATIONS WITH HER ARE STILL STRAINED. WORKERS HAD TO BORROW MY TOOLS IN ORDER TO DO THE JOB AND REPEATEDLY FORGOT THEIR TOOLS AT MY HOUSE AND IN MY NEIGHBOR'S DRIVEWAY. I STILL HAVE A DOLLY OF THEIRS AT MY HOUSE. THE CEDAR SECTION OF THE FENCE HAD TO BE REPLACED SHORTLY AFTERWARD WHEN THE NAILS RUSTED AND STAINED THE NEW WOOD. ALSO, A COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE PROMISED A COUPLE OF TIMES TO ADDRESS A NUMBER OF SMALLER UNFINISHED ISSUES BUT NEVER SHOWED UP OR ADDRESSED THE ISSUES. I PAID MORE FOR THIS JOB BECAUSE I WANTED THE PEACE OF MIND OF A QUALITY JOB. HOWEVER, I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE SAME JOB HIRING SOMEONE OFF THE STREET AND PAID MUCH LESS FOR IT.

THE INITIAL MEETING WAS CONDUCTED ON TIME. THEY WERE A LITTLE LATE IN RETURNING THE JOB QUOTE. THE PRICING WAS COMPETITIVE.

WE'VE NOT DECIDED WHO WE ARE GOING TO USE YET, BUT THEY ARE IN THE RUNNING.

NEVER HEARD FROM THE COMPANY AGAIN. I EVEN CALLED THEM UP A FEW TIMES ASKING FOR THE ESTIMATE BUT NO RESPONSE. I GOT THE FEELING THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE THOUGHT MY JOB TO BE TOO SMALL BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST HAD THE COMMON DECENCY AND COURTESY TO CALL ME BACK. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE BBB AND RUN OUT OF TOWN, ONE OF THE WORST COMPANIES I HAVE EVER TRIED TO DEAL WITH. I WOULD ADVISE PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I GOT THE IMPRESSION THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO DO SMALL JOBS BUT THEY NEVER TOLD ME THIS AT ALL. DON'T EXPECT THIS COMPANY TO BE RESPONSIVE OR TO EVEN RETURN YOUR PHONE CALLS. ONE OF THEIR SALESMAN DID RETURN MY CALL BUT HE WAS THE WRONG ONE (THERE IS ONE THAT DOES WOOD AND ONE THAT DOES ALUMINUM).

LAST SUMMER I PURCHASED A FENCE FROM THIS COMPANY. DESPITE MANY SCHEDULING SNAFUS AND MISCOMMUNICATIONS WITH ONE OF THEIR REPRESENTATIVES. WITHIN 2 MONTHS, THE GATE BEGAN TO WARP TO THE POINT THAT IT WOULD NOT CLOSE. I INITIATED NOT LESS THAN 5 ATTEMPTS TO GET THIS FIXED FROM LAST SUMMER THROUGH THE FALL. ALTHOUGH I WAS ASSURED BY THE COMPANY (NOT ONLY THE ORIGINAL REPRESENTATIVE THAT I'D DEALT WITH, BUT ALSO A "MANAGER") THAT "HE WILL BE OUT TO FIX IT NEXT WEEK". EVERY TIME I CALLED, NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP TO FIX IT. I GAVE UP ON THIS COMPLAINT FOR THE WINTER.

THE INSTALLER DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB!

I CONTACTED THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THEY WERE THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD DO THE TYPE OF FENCE WE WANTED. IT WAS DONE IN THREE DIFFERENT INSTALLMENTS. THIS OUR THIRD SUMMER TO WORK WITH THEM ON THIS PROJECT. WE HAD QUITE A LOT OF TROUBLE CONTACTING THEM. WITH THE OTHER SECTIONS OF THE FENCE THEY TOOK DOWN THE OLD AND INSTALLED THE NEW ON THE SAME DAY. THE LAST SECTION, THE SMALLEST PIECE OF THE WHOLE JOB, THEY SAID THEY COULDNT DO.

BECAUSE OF THE LONG WINTER, WE COULDN''T HAVE THE FENCE BUILT RIGHT AWAY. HOWEVER, AS SOON AS THE SNOW CLEARED, THEY WERE OUT AND FINISHED THEIR JOB IN 2 DAYS! THEY WERE A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER QUOTES WE GOT, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I GIVE THEM AN A+++!

THE INSTALLER DID A GREAT JOB, EXTREMELY STRAIGHT FENCE.

I DONT REALLY KNOW HOW THEY RANK ON PRICE-- I DIDNT GET ANY OTHER ESTIMATES.

IT SEEMS TO TAKE THEM A WHILE TO GET TO DO THE JOB, SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY. WHEN THEY ACTUALLY CAME THEY GOT THE WORK DONE PROMPTLY. THEY SENT THE SAME CREW WHO DID THE INITIAL WORK, SO THAT WAS GOOD.

AFTER MY JOB WAS BOOKED THEY STARTED AFTER A DELAY OF A COUPLE DAYS. THEY COMPLETED THE JOB IN TWO DAYS! IN OTHER WORDS THEY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATION OF COMPLETING THE FENCE. DESPITE THEIR AL RATING, I TOOK A CHANCE, AND WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULT (EVEN THOUGH I NEVER SAID I GOT THEIR NAME FROM AL).

ACTUAL WORKERS WERE FANTASTIC. OFFICE STAFF TERRIBLE.

THE SALESMAN AND THE PRICE WERE BOTH GOOD, BUT IT TOOK FROM THE MIDDLE OF JULY UNTIL THANKSGIVING TO GET THE JOB DONE. THE FENCE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL, BUT THE EXPERIENCE WORE ME OUT.

THE MAN WHO GAVE ME THE ESTIMATE WAS VERY PUNCTUAL AND RESPONSIVE, BUT AFTER I SIGNED ON THE LINE, I SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN LOST. POOR FOLLOW THROUGH.
