Description of Work: We decided to add an irregular flagstone patio in our backyard. The job was for 350 square feet. The selected stone was to cover 100 square feet per ton. I purchased 4 tons. 2/3’s of the way through the job we ran out of stone. We had almost no waste. I called Lang Stone and spoke with Rex on 6/10/09 who was going to drive out to my house to see what was going on with the job. Jim came out on 6/12/09, and told me that I needed 4 tons of material for the job. I informed him that was the amount that I had purchased from them. Jim stated they would deliver a ½ ton for free, and he would try to get the 1/2 ton to me that day. It turns out they could not deliver that day. Nobody showed up on 6/15/09 (Monday) or called, and I called them on 6/16/09 to see when they would deliver the stone. I spoke with Rex on the phone, and he informed me that he could not locate where they were going to deliver any more stone to me. I informed Rex about the conversation that I had with Jim & he said he’d call me back later. Rex called me 6/17/09 to tell me he was going to deliver 3/4 ton that same day. However, he also stated that I have to pay for the stone…but the delivery fee would be free. I spoke with the owner Larry who kept making some silly analogy of meatballs & catering and how UNREASONABLE I was being. That day I mentioned my troubles with LANG STONE to my Real Estate agent who quickly got in touch with the owner. Later that same day I had ¾ ton delivered for free. This new stone had numerous defects (unlike the original stone) & was almost ½ of what was originally delivered. I ended up making 3 more trips to LANG STONE to buy at least another 1 3/4 tons of stone. On one of these trips Rex tried to overcharge me by changing the "weight in" number & some really bad math/handwriting skills. The finished job looks great, but I would NEVER recommend anyone using LANG STONE. The cost of the stone for the job was way over budget due to the fact we had to keep buying more stone. The way the employees & owner treated me was unacceptable. I strongly urge anyone that is thinking about using LANG STONE products to reconsider.
