K.A. Menendian Rug Gallery

I have used them for many years. I like them.

I contacted the company by phone and talked to Jay. He said that they pickup in my city on Wednesday and return them a week later on Friday. He gave me a pickup time window and Mathew and his helper arrived on time and quickly rolled up the rugs and left. On the Thursday before the Friday delivery date, Jay called with a time window. We had made another appointment then so we had to wait another week before they returned. Mathew had mentioned padding under the rugs as all we had was an anti-skid pad so I told him to price padding as well. When Jay called to set-up the delivery time, I mentioned that I had seen the company's newspaper ad that mentioned a 10% off on rug cleaning and he said no problem and credited my order. Mathew and his helper arrived early after he contacted me by phone and said that they had a cancellation. I like the feel of the padding under the rug. My wife didn't think that the rugs needed cleaning in the first place but with 2 indoor cats and 5 years of vacuuming only, I thought that they could use it. The price wasn't that cheap but again it is only once in 5 years and included the pads.

They were very accommodating in both picking up my rug (old house) and delivering it to my new home. They do have limited pick up and delivery days - but they made a special run to deliver it off their normal schedule. I can't say enough good things about them!

Absolute total professionals. They did a most incredible job, the rug looks brand new. Pleasant, helpful, I can not recommend them any higher. Professional!!!!

Slow in responsiveness. Had the rug what seemed like forever and returned it faded and damaged. The rug is a wool and silk blend. It WAS fairly vibrant in color. When I finally received the rug back, it was noticeably faded, and they reported some damage to the edge. They denied damaging the rug but it was not damaged when they picked it up. As far as the fading is concerned, they said it had been washed (it had not) and that it may be from sun fading (it certainly was not in contact with sunlight). I am really disappointed in this company and will probably never use them again.

We have purchased many rugs from KA and had great experiences in the past. The rugs are very expensive but GREAT quality so we continued to buy from them. They always require a deposit down at ordering and then the rest at delivery- but this past purchase I had my wife call to schedule delivery and they charged the balance before we even got to see the rug or before it was delivered. I called to inquire about this and she said that is their policy. I then pulled up my past statements from them and my credit card and we had waited for over 2 months last year between charges, one at the time of ordering and one at delivery. This time it was less than 12 days from the deposit and we just called called to schedule the delivery and they charged the credit card. I have a monthly budget I abide to and planned the delivery according to the past business we have done together. Meaning if the policy had changed I expected to be notified. On the phone call with my wife she asked, and quot;Is the card we have on file ending with xxxx the one to charge to balance too?and quot; she replied yes thinking it would be the same as in the past and it would be charged at delivery. We wont be buying from them again. All and all I am upset that I was mislead about the purchase deposit and delivery policy and the final cost of delivery was not given to the rug was already delivered to their store. I felt that was a little deceitful.

Staff helped select kitchen runner. Picked out several samples to take home and then helped with final purchase. Offered details about cleaning and proper padding.

It went well. The staff is knowledgeable about all kinds of rugs, and they completed the cleanings in a timely manner.

I initially brought in a silk oriental rug my husband got when overseas that my new puppy had an accident on. Within a couple hours of leaving the rug, the store called me to advise me upfront that because of the fibers/technique used for this rug, it would lose its glossy sheen if cleaned. They surveyed the rug and said they really could not identify by sight or smell any pet stain, and said I must have done a good job cleaning up the accident with blotting and rinsing. They would be glad to clean the carpet, but I might prefer not to at this time since it would lose its gloss and never really look the same. I really appreciated their honesty, even when it meant a loss of revenue for them, since they offered to fully refund my money if I opted not to do the cleaning. When I returned for that rug, I brought 2 wool oriental rugs I bought from Pottery Barn several years ago. They did clean these rugs in less than a week, both looked clean and renewed, and smelled great. Very pleased with the professionalism and service!

They arrived as scheduled and completed the work as expected.

They were a little expensive. I shopped around, and I got an interior decorator there to shop for. She referred to them because of their price and good quality. I walked to KA Menendian and said that I will take it right away if she sells the rug for $1200. She is one good boss. We picked up the other rugs prior to that. We had to wait for a little during delivery. Their price was competitive.

Brought the rug in, took about 2 weeks. Got it back looking like new

They were fine. Everything was fine and rugs came back clean. I would rate them high overall and would use them again in the future if needed.

I really liked them. They were very accommodating. We went through a bunch of carpets. They brought about 20 carpets to my house and they left about 10 of them here for a few days. I ended up buying a carpet from them. It still hasn't arrived yet, but I did order a carpet from them. The guy who brought the carpets and delivered the carpets was really great. I liked the whole thing. The carpet would be delivered sometime this week. I picked the carpet I wanted at another place and they matched the price. So, it was good. They are really known for good quality. So far, they have been here when they said they were going to be here. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

They did an excellent job cleaning the carpet. We would use them in the future if we needed to.

I understand that they are under new ownership since January this year. My experience was good. I like the rug and it is fine. They seemed knowledgeable and they had a huge collection. They also gave me a cash discount. I didn't have any service from them. I just went into the store and bought the rug.

I called K A Menendian to get information about having my rug cleaned because I had a problem with my cat peeing on it. They recommended the enzyme treatment in addition to the regular cleaning to remove the urine smell so that the cat would not re-soil the rug. They explained to me on the phone that they did not guarantee that the rug would not be damaged by the cleaning process, and that I would have to pay for the cleaning regardless of whether the rug was damaged. I understood this, and dropped off the rug to be cleaned, and paid $170 up front for the cleaning. They finished the rug on the appointed day, and I came to pick it up a few days later. When I arrived to pick it up, it was rolled up. I asked them to cut a new rug pad for me, because my previous rug pad needed to be replaced. They took my rug into a side room, and cut a pad while I waited. I paid about $60 for the new rug pad. When they were done cutting the pad they brought my rug back out rolled up with the pad as part of the roll. When I got my rug home and unrolled it, I found that the red dye in parts of the rug had faded out of a large portion of the fibers and had bled into the tan section of the rug. It looked terrible. I understood that the rug being ruined was a possible consequence of the cleaning, but I feel that they should have alerted me to the problem when I picked the rug up. I know that they unrolled it and saw the damage when they cut the pad, but instead of calling me over to look at it, and asking if I still wanted to buy a pad for it, they simply cut the pad, charged me for it, and rolled the rug back up without mentioning the problem. I left the rug down for a few days at home since, I felt like I was stuck with it, and I didn't have another rug to replace it with yet. Even though the rug was in a different room in a new house my cat peed on it again. Either my cat has it in for this particular rug, or the enzyme treatment did not get the smell completely out. At this point, I decided to cut my losses and throw away the rug and new pad. I'm not seeking any sort of remedy from K A Menendian, but I do feel like I spent a lot of money that ruined my rug and didn't resolve the original problem that led me to get the rug cleaned in the first place. I was particularly disappointed that they did not alert me to the problem, and ask if I still wanted them to cut me a pad for my ruined rug. ****** After the company saw this report, they refunded the $60 for the rug pad and remedied the situation. I since have changed their grades accordingly because I really appreciated the phone call and the extra service.

I dropped off the rug and was told it would be ready in about a week. I paid upfront and was asked if I wanted a staingaurd as well. Salesman tried to sell me a pad, which seemed to be expensive for a small area rug ($50) and I refused. I called about a week later and the rug was ready for pick up (I did not receive a call from them). There were no hassles and I never waited long for service. Would use them again.

My husband and I had just purchased a new home with lots of hardwood floors. After purchasing 6 new rugs to cover those floors at a local annual rug auction, we took them to KA Menendian to get cleaned. The owner took us on a tour of the cleaning process, and we were quite impressed up to that point. The owner then asked where we had purchased our rugs, and he proceeded to tell us that we were idiots for purchasing rugs from an unknown origin and not from a reputable dealer. We had just purchased our house, and didn't have a ton of extra cash to spend on our rugs (we were quite happy with our purchase). We reluctantly left our rugs there for cleaning until we got out to the car and I burst into tears. He was so demeaning and made us feel horrible/stupid about what we had done. We turned the car around, picked up ours rugs, and took them somewhere else for cleaning. I will never purchase or clean a rug with the company because of the way we were treated. We weren't in the market for one of the 5000$ rugs they sold, so obviously we weren't good enough.

We dropped off the rug on a Saturday, and the rug was available 10 days later. Cleaning it gave it new life. These folks do it right! They unloaded the rug from my vehicle for me, and then help re-load when I picked it up.

It looks wonderful. The edge is nice and crisp, very clean looking.
