The first session was the most pleasant. She was helpful in organizing the closet and the front area of the house. The second visit was also okay. However, we were not satisfied with the third visit. We had done a lot of work in the kitchen/pantry area already, but she seemed dismissive of that. Our drawers were "junk drawers" to her that needed to be totally emptied; in reality, although they were somewhat disorganized, we do use most of the things in them. (Subsequently, after she left, we cleaned them out and reorganized them, and they are fine.) She also said that we needed to get rid of some of our utensils. We have three crockeries with utensils in them, and I guess she thought that was too many; however, we do a lot of cooking and need them all. The kitchen was kind of dirty the day she came; also, we haven't had the money to renovate the kitchen and it needs it. However, she made a comment that "even if this kitchen were cleaned, I wouldn't want to cook in it." Maybe she meant, because of the bad organization. But still, it seemed very rude. Overall, she seemed dismissive, curt, and judgmental. Maybe she was just having a bad day; if so, I wish she had just canceled so we wouldn't have had to deal with HER bad day (and pay her for it!). Like I said, the first two sessions were better. However, even in the second visit, she got very judgmental about my laundry habits. We were trying to clean up and sort through clothes. By the end of the session, she was lecturing me on how often and what days to do laundry! Excuse me, I'm an adult, I don't need a mother. One thing that was difficult was, she would only see us for a two-hour session. She is like an energizer bunny and keeps going energetically for two hours. I get tired long before then, so the second hour is less valuable to me. I would have preferred to just see her for an hour. Overall, I'm giving her a C, not an F, because the first couple sessions were somewhat useful. We are still using some of the organization she set up then. The third session felt like paying someone to be rude to us, even if some of her suggestions were useful. Another issue is, I need a lot of help with paper organization and filing (which I had told her before I hired her); she seems not to be very interested in or helpful in that area. If someone really needs an organizer, I would recommend someone hire her for an hour or two at first, and not use her "10 hours for <less money>" deal. I am glad I didn't do that, but rather hired her by the hour instead. Your experience may differ from mine. Perhaps I am a little over-sensitive, but people CAN be very depressed sometimes when they're dealing with these sorts of issues. Also, someone whose main advertising gambit is that they are NOT judgmental, and then is that judgmental about someone else's kitchen and laundry habits, is not really living up to their advance billing, in my humble opinion.
Description of Work: Ms. Kruzan came for three 2-hour sessions, over the course of several months. We went through problem areas in various parts of the house and she helped us clean them and organize them.

It's been an excellent experience. Karen really does not judge. I've opened the door to her when I was depressed and still in my nightgown and we've ended up having a productive hour or two. Letting someone into a disordered home is a difficult thing. I can do that when it's Karen although that's not happened lately (except for paper) because my home is in much better order because of Karen's help.
Description of Work: Karen has been helping me with organization issues for several years. I have multiple medical issues and a penchant for collecting things which I then have trouble, physically and psychologically, organizing or letting go of. We've been through most of my house over the years and I've been very satisfied with her guidance on decision making and the fact that she has been able to work at my pace. When I had to stop for physical reasons, she found something that she could do on her own. When I had difficulties for emotional reasons, she listened to me and we moved on to another place that needed to be organized. I need to add that I once employed another organizer who was a fascist. She told me what I should keep and what I should throw away and was extremely condescending, even angry, when I resisted so I was really desperate and very anxious when I first contacted Karen. The difference was night and day. Karen was attuned to my needs, not hers. I've reduced my possessions by about a third with those things going to organizations which mean something to me. I've reduced my anxiety-related shopping by at least 90% by recognizing my triggers and pursuing other activities. I can open any closet or drawer in my house and find what I'm looking for in a few minutes. It's such a relief. I miss NOTHING that I've let go of with Karen's help. I haven't worked with Karen consistently. I've taken months off sometimes and remained able to keep most things in order except paper which seems to be the one thing that is still a challenge for me.

She is wonderful. She has taught me how to live. My needs are different now, because I am walking with a walker. She has mad everything more convenient. She has showed me how to set up the bedroom up to use it to my advantage. I can't tell you enough about how she is not only keep me from gonig into depression over this, but also helping me keep organized. She has started doing 4 week sessions with a group of 5 people. They have been very helpful. She knows what shes doing and she is teaching me. I was also grateful to to meet other people in similar situations. She has changed the way I look at things and is very easy to work with. She is not a pushy person. very dear to me. She is very hands on. She is not demeaning or negative. She is always on time to the minute. She has become a very dear person to me.
Description of Work: When I first started with Karen, a year and a half ago, I was a borderline hoarder. She helped me straighten up my condo and she is not judgemental, she just provides relief. She is not only a professional organizer, but also a therapist.

Karen was wonderful. She came to my home and I couldn't believe how good of a job she did. We talked over the phone about what I needed. When she came to my home, we went through each room that she organized and I was just amazed how great and quick she organized everything. She knows exactly what she's doing.
Description of Work: I had a special for her services. I was amazed by her work!

Couldn't have expected better.
Description of Work: I cannot say enough about how much this wonderful person has changed and enriched my life. While suffering with a major depressive episode, I had become a hoarder-not as bad as those that are shown on tv; but ,I did have a path through my house. Clothing, purses,shoes,jewelry-some still unused and with tags on them. Since Karen is also a therapist, she helped me come to the understanding that I actually had been a bit of a hoarder most of my life. If I had one pan of a certain size--I probably really had three. My hoarding never included smelly or nasty things.-just stuff, stuff, stuff that I had allowed to take over my surroundings and therefore, my life. Many books on self improvement, home organization, priority setting etc. setting on shelves, desks, tables-you get the picture .I was always able to organize for others, just lost control of my ability to help myself. Karen's slogan states, "YOU WILL RECEIVE NO JUDGEMENT, JUST RELIEF" is exactly what she offers! The assessment was more like an interview-it was important for her to know my "style",needs, what my personal '"treasures"were. Then, we got to work! She did not just come to my home and take over-although if that is what I had needed her to do she would have. She has that very special gift/skill of helping clients decide how important each item is to them and then help them make the decision on what to do with each item. With her help, I was also able to clean house, "let go" and even donate many items to worthy causes. I will most likely have a large garage sale and make a bit of money too. She always worked her schedule around mine and was always on time. Her rate was very reasonable( I didn't put an overall cost on my report because mine is a slow process and we are still spending some time together). I have also seen the work she has done for commercial clients and heard them speak of their appreciation of her abilities. She is comfortable to be around ,very motivating, and so good with praise and feedback. You can't go wrong with K2 ORGANIZING! Whether it's a situation similar to mine-a residential or commercial move, a clean out,or just a helping hand-she knows her stuff! She belongs to many professional organizations and I know she keeps updated on new skills/ideas/methods in her field. Thank you Karen for who you are and how you've helped me and many others regain our dignity and renew our sanctuaries we can again proudly call HOME.
